day 0
"FUCK ME." Jade whispered under her breath with her jaw dropped as they exited the warehouse and her gaze fell upon the car they were about to be driving on their... trip. "Can I drive?" Jade asked, her eyes still focused on the black mustang.
"God, no." Stefan's response was a barely audible murmur. Klaus couldn't hold back a bark of amusement as he unlocked the car.
Jade's head whipped around like lightning, her narrowed eyes locking onto Stefan's. "Is there a problem, dipshit?"
"You drive like a madwoman." Klaus said, his eyes dancing with amusement as he saved the Salvatore from answering.
"How the fuck do you even kno━" Jade's retort was abruptly cut short as she caught the self-satisfied expression on Klaus' face. Realization dawned on her, and she let out an exasperated scoff. "I forgot about that." She muttered, shooting him an annoyed look. When he continued to wear that smug smirk, she rolled her eyes "Whatever." She whispered under her nose, her head shaking. "'C'mon, Klaus! We'll be there faster." She exclaimed, walking up to him and expanding her head in anticipation. She tilted her head, puppy eyes on display.
It always worked.
That, or boobs.
Klaus looked at her for a few seconds, eyes narrowed as he thought. "Florida." He finally spat after she shot him about 25 pleading blinks, passing her the keys with a slight eye roll.
Jade's eyebrows shot up in surprise, her eyes bouncing between Klaus and the keys like a game of ping pong. "Really?" She asked, her tone sceptical.
"Don't scratch it." Klaus' words came with a touch of warning, his voice trailing as he swung open the passenger door and climbed inside.
Jade followed suit, slipping into the driver's seat with a devilish grin playing upon her lips. "I will. Out of spite."
One of Klaus's eyebrows arched, a subtle smirk dancing at the corners of his mouth."It's Elijah's."
Jade's jaw dropped, eyebrows shooting to her hairline."You fucking killed him and stole his car?!" She shouted. Stefan, who got into the backseat rolled his eyes, already tired of her, of the Original, of this whole trip whatsoever. Klaus, however, shrugged nonchalantly, a satisfied grin stretching across his face as he retrieved a pack of cigarettes from the glove compartment.
"That's why it's so nice..." Jade's words trailed off, her eyes roaming the luxurious interior of the car. "No wonder he hates you." She said when her eyes landed on the now annoyed Original.
Klaus, who was about to light his cigarette, stopped and side-eyed her. "Drive." He murmured, the cigarette dangling in his mouth. "Silently." He added, eyes narrowed.
"You wish." Jade shot back, a cheshire cat's grin curling her lips. With a confident press of the ignition, the car roared to life, and she wasted no time in accelerating away from the warehouse, the tires letting out a satisfying screech.
Two hours had passed.
"Who the fuck taught you to drive?!" She screamed out of her window toward some guy beside her. "Did you ran out of indicator fluid, you piece of shit?!" When he spat out a string of curses in response, accompanied by his middle finger, Jade let out a loud scoff. "Oh, fuck you, too!" She reciprocated the gesture. When a old lady from the car behind him gave her a sour and disapproving look, Jade whipped her head towards her in a flash. "You too, grandma! Where the fuck are you even driving to? Your own funeral?"
That was the first and last time Klaus let her drive.

day 1
Jade was leaving a pharmacy with two large bags filled to the brim. Licking her bloody lips, she lifted her gaze upwards and her self-satisfied smile instantly dropped.
"I was looking for you." Klaus said, leaning against a city lamp. His amusement deflated a little when he saw dozens of pill bottles sticking out of the blonde's bags.
"Unnecessarily." Jade grumbled, walking past him. "Where did you park?"
Klaus furrowed his eyebrows and began walking behind the blonde. "May I ask what━"
"━No."
"What do you━"
"━No, Klaus." Jade hissed, spinning around and walking up to him, leaning towards his face. "Not your business. I fucking mean it this time."
The Original's confusion deepened. He narrowed his eyes, looking down at her. "Why━"
"━No. Just no." She immediately retorted, her head shaking. "Can you just be civil enough for once? Or is that too much to ask?"
Klaus locked his gaze with her for a few, long moments. "Fine." He said in a low voice after a while. "You'll tell me someday."
Jade snorted, turning around. "Yeah, sure."

day 13
"Did you speak to Caroline?" Stefan asked from his seat in the back of the car. When he heard no response, he echoed. "Jade? Did you speak to Caroline?" Jade suddenly twisted her head around, eyes darting around the car. "What are you looking for?" Stefan asked, following her trail of vision.
"Trying to find who the fuck you're talking to."
Stefan let out an exasperated sigh. "Jade, I already said I'm sorry. What more do you want from me?"
"Nothing from you." She replied with a indifferent shrug. After a second, she shot him a toothy smile. "From Damon? Death in agony."
"I'm gonna deal with Damon. On my terms." He immediately responded, his face hardening.
"No." She spat. "I'm gonna deal with Damon. On my terms." She said, her voice almost a shout as she pointed her finger at her chest.
"Why are you like this?" Stefan questioned, spreading his hands in the air with a shake of his head.
Jade scoffed in disbelief, unbuckling her seatbelt and turning her body towards the Salvatore. "Why I am like this? Look at yourself, Mr. Nobl━"
"One more word and I'll pluck out your eyeballs and feed them to you both." Klaus interrupted her, his hand, which was holding the steering wheel, was so clenched that his knuckles were white.
"He's the one that starte━"
"━Don't make me compel you." Klaus twisted his head towards her, his expression deadly.
"But━" She began, but when his eyes lit up with an amber spark, she turned back to her seat, sighing in exasperation as she locked her gaze on the window.

day 49
Jade was awakened by a loud slamming of the hood, which shook the entire fucking car. Muttering some curses under her breath, she stepped out of the car and rubbed her eyes, looking at an Original so pissed off that she thought the vein on his forehead would simply burst. "And what have you done this time?"
"Jade." Klaus immediately growled as a warning. "Don't test me." He shook his head, wiping his grease-stained hands with some cloth.
Jade raised her hands, palms up. "Okay, I won't. You look... miserable enough." She muttered, staring at his tight t-shirt, which he must have changed while she slept.
She did not want to say miserable.
There was a fucking tattoo peaking underneath it. God, help her.
Jade shook herself off her trance and cleared her throat. "Can't you just..." She trailed off, waving her hand at the car hood. "You know?"
Klaus threw his now dirty cloth on the car in exasperation. "I could, if I had bloody tools!" He shouted, pulling out one of his cigarettes from his pocket and lighting it up.
Jade couldn't look at him. If she did for even a second longer, she would say or do something really stupid.
She turned around, eyes darting around some buildings nearby. "Where the hell is Stefan?"
"Went to grab some." Klaus murmured, tilting his head upwards and exhaling the smoke.
Jade snorted in amusement. When Klaus just raised his eyebrow at her, she smirked, walking up to him. "Oh, you silly little boys." She mused, her head shaking. "One thousand dollars if I'll fix that sooner than him." With that said, she outstretched her hand in anticipation.
Klaus rolled his eyes, but shook it. "Have at it, sweetheart." He said, cocking his head towards the car hood, cigarette dangling in his mouth as he spoke. Jade just shoot him a mischievious smirk and walked around it, aiming for the end of the road. When she saw a car aproaching, she expanded her hand, waving it over.
"Hey, everything okay?" The man asked, lowering his window down. A very attractive man. Matt Damon in 'Good Will Haunting', attractive.
Jade flashed him her trademark million-dollar smile. "Hey, sorry to bother you, but our car broke down, and my boyfriend and I are stranded here." She said with a pout, pointing at Klaus, who just threw her such a bewildered look that his cigarette almost fell out his mouth. "We were on our way to a fishing trip, of all things. Can you believe it? Do I look like I fish? Ugh." She said, pointing at her dress and heels.
"No you do not..." The man mused with a smirk, scanning her up and down.
So gullible. Gotta love men.
"Where's your boyfriend now?" He said, getting out of his car.
"Oh, Nikki's over there, doing whatever he does. He was telling me about the latest fish he caught and then bam! Car stopped." She gestured, leading him to their car. "And he didn't even had any tools!"
The man smirked, looking up at Klaus, who just smoked his cigarette in silence, not bothering to even look at them. "Well, I guess I can lend a hand. I've got some tools in my trunk. Let's see what we can do." As the man set to work under the hood, Jade glanced over her shoulder at Klaus, who was growing increasingly more annoyed. She couldn't resist the grin that begged to be formed on her mouth, her eyes dancing with amusement.
When the man eventually managed to get the car running again, Jade clasped her hands in fake delightment. "Thank you so much for your help. Seriously, you're a lifesaver." When Klaus heard her sickenigly charming voice, he rolled his eyes to himself.
As the man closed the hood and wiped his hands on a rag, he turned to Jade, a twinkle in his eye. "No problem at all. Just glad I could help." He smirked, before glancing at Klaus' back, leaning towards her, his voice lowered. "You know, you could do better. Find yourself a real man." He murmured, and Klaus just cracked his neck once in response. "If you're ever around here... don't hesitate to call." He said, his eyes now fixed on Jade's as he gave her his number.
"Oh, I won't." She replied, winking at him, to which he shot her a grin.
Walking towards his car, he stopped when he was about to pass Klaus. "Take care of this one, will ya?" He cocked his head towards a very happy with herself Jade.
Klaus flickered his cigarette away and grabbed the man forcefully by his throat. "Leave. Now." He spat with a murderous look on his face, not even compelling him. When the man took off, Jade suddenly was by the hybrid's side, her hand outstretched in anticipation.
Klaus's retort was a muttered grumble, his eyes rolling skyward as he started to pay her up.
━━━━━━━━
day 82
Jade pounded her fist on Klaus' hotel door with a bored and stone-cold face. Yet, when it opened with a thud, her almost falling inside, her face turned into one full of shock when she saw him in just pants and necklaces, nothing else.
Dear Lord, she was not your strongest soldier.
Jade involuntarily looked at his sculpted figure, her eyes traveling from his abdomen, to his tattoos on his arms, to his collarbones and finally to his face. His full of sheer self-satisfaction, face. "What can I do for you, Miss Forbes?" He asked, folding his arms and leaning his side on the doorframe with a knowing glint in his watercolour eyes.
Jade cleared her throat, her expression changing into more nonchalant one. "I'm bored."
Klaus arched one of his eyebrows. "How is that my problem?"
She scoffed, crossing her own arms over her chest. "It's yours, Mr..." She trailed off, narrowing her eyes. "What the hell is your last name? Do you even have one? Or you're like Beyoncé?"
"Mikaelson." He answered, cocking his head to the side as he watched her in amusement.
"Oh." She murmured, her lips forming into a tiny 'o'. "That's a..." She trailed off, blinking a few times. "That's a nice name." She said, biting the inside of her cheek. When he shot her a very smug smirk, she shook herself off whatever came through her. "It's yours, Mr. Mikaelson, because you're the one that almost sacrificed me and my sister in your freaky ritual━"
"━Almost." Klaus interjected, tilting his head to the side.
"━Kidnapped me, forbidden me to kill Stefan, snapped my neck eight times on this damned trip, compelled me nineteen times to be quiet, stolen five of my Marlboros━"
"━Four, you stole back one of mine. Still don't know how you did that, since they're in my pocke━"
"━Called me annoying━"
"━You are annoying━"
"━Or yesterday! When we were driving God-knows-where and I said 'wow nice blue building' and you said 'sweetheart, it's not simply blue, it's cerulean' because I'm Klaus, I'm a thousand year old hybrid and i'm soooo sophisticated, unlike you, you American peasant." Jade spat out in a disguisting British accent, slightly out of breath. Klaus just raised his eyebrows, trying with all his might to surpress the laugh that begged to be uttered.
He failed.
"The fuck are you laughing at?" She scoffed, shooting him an angered look.
"Nothing, nothing." He muttered, trying to compose himself. When he finally did, he cocked his head to the side, looking pointedly at the hotel's bar. "Drink?"
Jade straightened her dress, eyes darting around herself in nonchalance. "Yes." She said, keeping her head up. When he huffed in amusement in response, she brushed her blonde waves behind herself and strode towards the bar.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
So, now she found herself walking hand-in-hand with Klaus in some random town in Tennessee. Well, random to her, she didn't really listen as the Original talked about his plans for world domination. As for her and Klaus... as it was so it is. They continued to irritate each other at every turn, neither one missing an opportunity, which only annoyed Stefan.
That became their unspoken, shared goal━to infuriate Salvatore to his limit as punishment for his brother.
Oh, and, of course, she has improved her newly acquired vampirism. She was now able to control herself in the presence of humans (most of the times) and her killing skills? Outstanding! Klaus said that if he had any gold stars, he would give her one.
Not that she was bragging or anything...
"Rudy!" A blond woman exclaimed, stepping out onto her terrace in front of the house. "Rudy! Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you!"
The woman bent down to pick up her pet's toy, but when she turned around, she gasped, seeing an oddly smiling couple in front of her, as if from nowhere.
"We're so sorry." Klaus began in a absolutely horrifying American accent. Jade, whose arm was wrapped around the Original's, had to turn away, unable to hold back the amused grin that begged to be let out. "We didn't mean to scare you." With that said, he tightened his grip on her waist in a silent warning.
"Can I help you?" The blonde asked when she recovered from her momentary daze.
Jade cleared her throat and whipped her head around, flashing her a warm smile. "Yes, love." She began in an obnoxious British accent.
What? Two can play at that game.
As soon as the Mikaelson heard it, he slowly turned his head around, giving the side of her face a dead stare, but the blonde ignored it. Although when he drove his fingers into the side of her waist, hard enough that she was sure momentary bruises had formed there, she responded by squeezing his bicep, piercing his skin with her sharp nails.
Klaus closed his eyes for a moment, wondering if he should wring her neck again.
Jade huffed to herself in amusement. "My boyfriend was picking me up from the airport, and then his car ran out of petrol a few kilometers away... we walked for so long I think my feet are about to fall off." Jade continued, glancing toward her black, blocky heels. "Could you lend us your phone, dear?" She asked with a pout, putting her head on Klaus' shoulder.
Yes, he should really wring her neck. Or put her head on a stick, whatever floats her boat.
"Don't you two have cellphones?" The woman asked with a slight puff, eyeing the couple in distrust.
"Yeah. Battery died." Klaus continued cosplaying an American, pulling out his phone from his back pocket and waving it at the woman.
He will pay for her therapy, mark her words.
"Look, we promise we're not serial killers. We just want to use your phone."
He sounded like one.
The woman took a deep breath. "Sure." She said with a shrug, beginning to turn around.
"Sooo..." Jade drawled, raising her head from Klaus' shoulder. "Can we come in, sweetheart?"
"No." She immediately responded. "I'll get the phone and bring it out to you."
Jade let out an annoyed grunt, immediately pulling herself from Klaus' embrace with an eyeroll.
Klaus narrowed his eyes, dropping (thank God) the accent, his previously warm face turning into a sinister one. "And here I thought country folk were supposed to be more trusting, weren't they, love?" He said, glancing towards Jade, who replied nod, flashing behind the woman with a smirk.
"I-I'm from Florida." The woman stuttered, her back hitting Jade's front.
"Ew." Jade murmured, scrunching her face as she held the blonde in place.
"Well, that explains it." Klaus shrugged his shoulders and grabbed the woman's neck, pulling her towards himself, his pupils dilating. "Now, show me and my girl a little Southern hospitality, sweet pea."
Inside the house, another woman was preparing dinner. Hearing footsteps, she spoke up, her gaze focused in her food. "I bet you a hundred dollars that cat ran off to a house with air-conditioning."
"You have a cat named Rudy? Seriously?" Jade asked with a raised eyebrow, hopping up on the kitchen counter and crossing her legs, a lit cigarette in her mouth.
The brunette spun around in a flash, her eyes widening as she saw an unfamiliar couple and her terrified friend, who Klaus kept by his side. "What's going on?"
"Please, do be alarmed." Jade tilted her head to the side, twirling her hand in the air.
"We're told Ray Sutton lives here." Klaus said seemingly calmly, but his lips were curled in a menacing smirk.
The woman gulped. "He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly." She said, her voice slightly shaking in fear.
"I expect he makes it home... once a month." Klaus said, walking up to the brunette, his iron grip still keeping the blonde in place. She took a deep, shuddering breath, her dark gaze locked on his as he gave her a toothy, knowing smile. "That's what I thought... where is he now?"
Jade rolled her eyes, exhaling the smoke upwards as she tilted her head back. "I suggest to speak, he killed me like twenty times over the summer." She mused, cocking her head to the Original, who just nodded proudly, pointing at her. Jade shot him an annoyed look, and then turned towards the brunette once more. "And let me tell you, it's not a pleasant feeling." She spoke in a lowered voice, as if she was gossiping.
Suddenly, the woman took off, running for her dear life.
"What a bitch!" Jade gasped in disbelief, hopping off from the countertop, putting out her cigarette in the sink. "I would just let us kill her, if I were you." She muttered in the blonde's direction, pointing a manicured finger at her running friend, who yelped when she saw Stefan waiting for her on the other side of the door.
"I would watch out. My girl loves when they run." Klaus exclaimed, nodding at Jade with a grin as he and the terrified girl trailed towards the front door.
Jade scoffed, walking past them. "Fuck off, Mikaelson. The act is over." She grumbled, looking at him over her shoulder. After a second, she locked her gaze with the brunette. "But yeah, I do." She winked in a whisper, as if telling a secret.
"He's in Tulley. It's near the border. A bar called Southern Comfort, it's off highway 41." The terrified woman exclaimed, eyes fixed on the floor as she cried.
"See? Was that so hard?" Jade cocked her to the side, placing one of her hands on her hip.
"Thank you, my love." Klaus whispered, a hint of a satisfied smile on his lips. "Now, may our friend come in and play?" He asked, brushing the blonde's hair away from her tear-drenched face.
"Yes..." She cried out, her voice shaky and strained.
As Stefan crossed the threshold of the house, Klaus pushed the blonde into Jade's arms. "Kill this one quickly." He ordered with a stone cold face.
"Boo." Jade pouted.
The Original ignored her and turned to the crying brunette, shoving her towards Stefan. "And you, make that one suffer." With that said, he exited the house, a satisfied look on his face as his eyes lingered on the two rippers for a moment.
Jade turned to her prey, a terrifying smile on her lips that quickly turned into something even worse━as soon as she felt her teeth sharpen, the only sound escaping the blonde's throat was a shrill scream. Obviously not listening to Klaus, the woman fiddled with her food a bit, giving her a little upper hand. She didn't let her ran far, but enough for her to feel she had any chance of getting away. She learned that on this trip━hope is very delicious!
Running up to the woman with a flash, she grabbed her by the throat and pressed her against the wall, driving her fangs into her artery in one swift motion. As soon as she felt her sweet-salty blood, she hummed in pleasure, the woman's primal screams only fueling her harder.
However, when the blonde suddenly ripped one of Jade's necklaces, she stopped, pulling away from her neck. As her bloodshot eyes saw the torn moon choker she had received for her birthday from Cami a year ago, Jade slowly returned her gaze to the blonde. It was a simple velvet strip with a little moon charm on it━but it was from Cami.
"You shouldn't have done that." Jade murmured, tilting her head with stone cold expression.
In the next second, Jade grabbed her by the hair, pulling her toward the kitchen. Firing up the stove, she pressed the blonde's hand against it, burning it to the bone. Satisfied with the punishment, she rammed into her neck again, draining every drop of blood that was left in her.
When her screams finally stopped, Jade grabbed her firmly by the head, pulling it off her shoulders in one smooth motion and then throwing it out the window. Satisfied with herself, she turned on her heel, walking past Stefan, who was still playing with his food. She picked up her torn necklace from the floor and left the house, the brunette's screams echoing behind her.
"I told you kill her quickly." She heard Klaus say, who was leaning against a wooden beam of the terrace, his eyes dancing in amusement as he eyed the severed head of the blonde lying nearby.
Jade walked up to him, wiping her bloody hands on her leather skirt. "And I didn't listen." She shrugged. "Shocking, isn't it?" Leaning in closer to him, a cheeky grin danced on her lips, though his response was nothing more than a roll of his eyes. "Besides," Her voice dropped in both volume and intensity. "Bitch asked for it." She mumbled, gazing at the shattered remains of her necklace cradled in her palm.
Klaus' eyes darted between the velvety strip and the blonde, noticing the note of sadness in her eyes. "Whatever you say, love." He murmured, pursing his lips and looking into the distance.
Suddenly, Jade whipped her head around in a flash. "What was that?" She whispered, looking at something in the darkness.
"Hm?" Klaus uttered absentmindly, following her trail of vision, but seeing nothing. He furrowed his eyebrows, looking back at the blonde. "I meant to ask ear━"
"Oh, my God!" Jade exclaimed, her face lighting up as she walked down the stairs. Klaus' confusion deepened and he took a step towards her. "Hi, little one..." He heard her say in a sickeningly sweet voice.
"Oh, bloody hell." He murmured under his breath, eyes immediately shooting upwards. A black cat, its fur sleek as night, sat before her as she scratched its chin. His jaw tightened in a mixture of annoyance and exasperation.
"Mikaelson━"
"━Absolutely not."
"Like I'm asking." She snorted, picking up the cat. "Hello there... too bad one of your owners is dead and the other one is getting brutally mauled as we speak..." She cooed, her touch gentle as she stroked the cat's forehead. Klaus released a deep, measured breath, briefly closing his eyes in a moment of frustration. "Such a pretty..." She trailed off, looking under its tail."Girl, you are." She murmured and the cat responded with a little purr. "You're mine now."
"No." Klaus immediately responded, his face lacking any kind of amusement.
"Look at her! Isn't she adorable?" She exclaimed, walking up to him, the cat still in her hold.
"She's..." Klaus trailed off, his eyes focused on Jade's face when she baby-talked with the black pet. He looked at her blood stained face, her happy grin as she gave the cat little forehead kisses, the momentary pure happiness on her face that he never saw before. "Not." He grumbled, eyes darting towards some woods surrounding them.
"Can you say fuck you to the mean wolf-boy? Can you?" She continued talking to the animal, who let out a soft meow in response. Jade gasped, whipping her head towards unamused Klaus in a flash. "Oh my, God! You're my best friend now."
"Just get in the car, Jade." Klaus grumbled, walking towards the vehicle, not bothering to check if she was following. After a few steps, he twisted his head around. "Without the furry little filth."
The cat hissed in response, and Klaus rolled his eyes. "Oh, she hates you." Jade barked a laugh, looking proudly at the animal. "You probably smell like a dog to her." She added after a second, glancing towards Klaus with a cheeky grin on her face.
"Jade." Klaus' voice was a growl, his patience wearing thin. He swung open the car door with a decisive motion, tilting his head to the side in a gesture of command. "Car. Now."
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Yeah, the cat was still around.
Of course, it wasn't without a fight; Klaus threatened the cat probably more times than he threatened Jade, and she reacted to his every word with a shrill hiss.
Jade felt like a proud mother.
She still didn't have a name, though.
Every interaction they had made Jade laugh, they acted like... well.
A cat and a dog. Literally.
Klaus eventually let her keep her, although he never gave her a reason.
But fuck that, she had a cat! (ignore the fact that she helped making her homeless)
"Jade." Klaus called out like five times now. She finally tore her gaze away from the animal that was sleeping in her lap and looked at the exasperated Original.
"Hm?" She hummed absentmindly, but when Klaus shot her a deadly stare, amber flashing in his eyes, she huffed in amusement. "Yeah, yeah. I'm on it." She murmured, passing the cat into Klaus' lap. The Original shot her such a bewildered look, that she couldn't help but laugh. "I wish someone," She began, looking pointedly at the Original, who just slowly moved away from the cat, his face contorted in distaste. "Didn't smash my phone against the pavement, I totally would've captured that moment."
Klaus narrowed his eyes. "If you don't do your job in the next five seconds, this pest will die a very violent death." His voice carried a menacing edge, his gaze locking onto the surprisingly content animal nestled in his lap.
"She's purring!" She exclaimed in awe, focusing on the peacefully sleeping cat, but her amazement was interrupted when Klaus' hand moved threateningly towards the animal's neck. Jade let out a gasp, slapping his hand away. "Jesus fucking Christ, I'm going, chill." She muttered under her breath as she hastily exited the car with an eye roll.
When she saw Klaus and Stefan walking out, leaving the cat alone, she raised her eyebrows. "What are you doing?" Her tone held a mix of concern and disbelief, her hand gesturing towards the closed windows of the car. "She'll suffocate!" She shouted, her eyes blazing.
"That's my intention." Klaus replied with a nonchalant shrug, walking past her.
Jade scoffed, grabbing his forearm forcefully. "Crack open that damn window or I'm not doing it." She spat, pointing at the vehicle. Klaus' eyes closed momentarily, his irritation palpable even as he complied by slightly opening a window, a hint of annoyance tainting his gesture. His gaze met Jade's with a raised eyebrow. "Thank you." She said, her head cocking to the side, her tone sarcastic.
Klaus' head twitched to the side in exasperation. "Go." He growled, nodding at the bar's entrance. Jade huffed in disbelief, shaking her head. She took off her beloved jacket and threw it at Stefan, who caught it with his eyebrows raised. Lowering her top slightly, showing more than usual, she mussed her hair, fluffing it. Then, she rolled up her leather skirt, showing more of her tattoos.
"So?" She inquired, her hand resting on her hip as she arched her eyebrow.
Both Klaus and Stefan found their eyes fixed on her, their gazes tracing her every move. "Just go." They said at the same time. Jade smirked knowingly, tossing her hair over her shoulder and pushing the bar's doors forcefully.
"Bourbon." She ordered, sitting down on a bar stool.
Amid the atmosphere of the bar, a voice pierced the air, drawing Jade's attention. "What's up, Ray?" When she heard the name they had been looking for all summer, she smirked, winking at the bartender, who immediately handed her a drink.
"Hey, Red. Let me get a beer." Ray said, nodding at the bartender as he took a seat beside Jade. After a second, he glanced sideways towards blonde, scanning her figure from top to bottom. "And put whatever this beautiful lady ordered on my tab." He added smoothly, his words carrying a hint of flirtation. When Jade glanced at the werewolf, he spoke up. "Ray Sutton, at your service." He introduced himself with a confident smirk, his voice full of charisma.
"Oh, I don't doubt that." Jade muttered under her breath, taking a sip of her drink. After a second, she whipped her head, a millior dollar smile on her lips. "Jade Forbes."
Ray's smirk deepened, his posture leaning in slightly as he engaged her. "Well, Jade, aren't you beautiful?"
Ew.
Jade arched her eyebrow. "Aren't you forward?" She asked with a forced smile, twirling a strand of hair between her fingers.
"It's part of my charm." Ray murmured, putting his hand on Jade's lap.
Jade gritted her teeth, trying with all her might to not snap his neck right there. "I can see that..." She trailed off, eyeing his hand with her eyebrows raised. Then, she kissed her teeth, drawing circles on the bar counter with her nail. "Ray, may I ask you a question?"
"Sure thing, darlin'." Ray replied, his eyes fixed on Jade's, his smirk unwavering.
Jade huffed to herself, taking another sip. When she was done, she put the glass down with a smirk. "Do you ever have an urge to roll around when someone scratches your ear?" She asked, her tone genuine. As soon as the man understood her allusion, he withdrawled his hand, beginning to stand up. "I've been wanting to ask my friend over there, but he's a bit murderous, so..." Jade trailed off with pursed lips, pointing behind herself with her thumb, her head bobbing from side to side.
"I think I'm gonna go." Ray murmured, his eyes flashing with fear as he spun around, only to smash into Klaus' chest.
"Not so fast, mate." Klaus murmured, his darkened eyes locked with the werewolf's. "Is that him, love?"
Jade snorted. "Can't you smell him?" She asked, her face scrunched as she took a sip from her drink. "Or do you need to specifically sniff his ass━"
"━I apologise, my lady seems to lack manners." Klaus interrupted her, placing his hand on her thigh and squeezing it as a warning. Jade let out a pained hiss and slapped his hand away. "Now, we've been looking everywhere for you." He mused, cocking his head towards the blonde. "We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there, who you worked with before you moved to Memphis. Now, he redirected me to two, lovely young women."
"They were delicious." Jade interjected, slowly licking her lips as she locked her gaze with the werewolf.
"And they led us here. To you." The Original smirked, enjoying the look on Sutton's face. "Now, your type is very hard to come by." As soon as Klaus uttered those words, the werewolf turned around, only to be stopped by ominously smirking Jade.
"You still have a drink to pay for." She whispered with a pout.
The man turned around again, this time colliding with Stefan. "I wouldn't do that." The Salvatore said, pushing the werewolf right onto the counter.
"Vampires." Ray breathed in realization.
"You're swifty-swift, Ray." Klaus said with a grin on his face. When he heard Jade muttering some song under her breath, he shot her a warning look. The blonde immediately closed her lips, her expression angelic, to which he rolled his eyes, turning back towards the werewolf. "Yes. My companions here are vampires━that one here compelled everybody in this bar," He said, pointing at Stefan. Then, he turned towards Jade. "While the other one occupied you with her... charm." He said reluctantly.
"Hey! I'm very charming, thank you very much." Jade scoffed, slapping Klaus on his shoulder. "Am I not, Ray?" She asked the man, who just shot her a terrified look in response.
"I, however, am something else." Klaus mused, totally ignoring the blonde. "A different kind of monster. I've got some vampire, I've got some wolf." He said, a cheeky smirk forming on his lips.
"You what?" Ray echoed, his eyes widening.
Jade rolled her eyes, downing her drink. "He's half dog, Ray. Try to keep up." She said with a little shake of her head. After a second, she snorted in amusement, cocking her head towards the bar exit. "You should've seen how my cat rea━"
"━Sweetheart, I will make sure you spend your eternal life in excruciating agony if you continue." Klaus immediately interrupted her, whipping his head around, his eyes flashing with his trademark gold. Jade was about to open her mouth, but when he turned his whole body towards her, she raised her palms in a defensive gesture. Klaus smirked in satisfaction, patting her on her exposed thigh.
"So, where was I? Oh, yes." He murmured under his breath, his hand still on Jade's leg. "I'm a hybrid. I'm both." He said, nodding at him. "You see, I want to create more of me. Now, you being the first werewolf I've come across in many of moon━pun intended━I need you to direct me to your pack." He said with a grin, clearly amused with himself. Jade barked a laugh, leaning her head on her knuckles. She glanced towards the Original's hand, which was still placed on her thigh.
Should she do something...?
Well, she could, but...
"So, where can I find them, Ray?" He asked, taking a sip out of Sutton's beer bottle.
The werewolf shook his head rapidly. "You can't compel me, it won't work."
As soon a he uttered those words, Klaus glanced knowingly towards Stefan, who just scratched his head with a nod. "Can I get a Scotch on the rocks, please?" He asked the bartender, pulling out someting from his pocket. "Tell you what, Ray. We're going to play a little drinking game."
Jade smirked, standing up and leaning her face towards the werewolf's ear. "Something we like to call Truth or... Wolfsbane." She concluded, enjoying the fearful shudder that came through the Sutton's spine.
Klaus huffed in satisfaction, sitting down on the bar stool. "Oh, this is going to be fun, Ray." He whispered, his lips curling into a menacing smile.
"As I hate to agree with him," Jade cocked her head in Klaus' direction, to which he replied by pursing his lips with a nod. "He's absolutely right." She mused, snatching Ray's bottle from Klaus' hands and taking a sip.

"My turn!" Jade exclaimed with a toothy grin on her face. Standing up, she put the cat (which she went to get, saying something about how alone and sad she will be by herself) in her place, next to the Original. Klaus measured the animal with a disgusted look, to which it responded with a hiss, making him roll his eyes.
As Jade dipped a dart in a wolfsbane tea, Stefan tightened his lips into a straight line and took a step back, waving his hand towards the chained up werewolf.
The girl faced the man, squinting one eye and sticking out her tongue slightly. In one swift movement, she threw the poisoned dart, hitting him squarely in the forehead. As the werewolf let out a piercing scream, she spun around towards her companions with a proud look in her eyes, who merely raised their drinks towards her, taking a sip.
The cat meowed happily.
"Ray. You can end this right now." Stefan said, approaching the werewolf. "Just tell us where your pack gathers for the full moon." He shrugged, pulling out Jade's dart from his forehead.
"I can't." Ray bit out between gasps.
"I know, I know." Stefan mocked, bobbing his head from side to side. "You live by a code and all that. But see, he's not gonna let us stop until you tell us." He glanced towards Klaus, who was watching them with a smirk, his legs crossed on a table. "And we do whatever he says. That's the way it goes around here." Stefan murmured and Jade nodded with a pout.
"Hello, Mr. Klaus." The vampires heard some girl say. Jade snorted in amusement. Mr. Klaus? Seriously? Jade and Stefan connected ther gazes, walking up towards the hybrid. "I have some more information for you." The woman murmured, proceeding to tell him about seeing Damon.
Oh, really, now? Lovely!
"Well, thank you, Claudine. Just tell your friend to keep up the good work with the neighbourhood watch." Klaus murmured back, leaning towards the woman with his artificial charm on display, making her smile, her eyes scanning him up and down.
Jade raised her eyebrows at the sight and scoffed, turning back to the werewolf and aiming a dart right into his neck. His shrilling scream making her smile.
"My brother's still on our trail?" Stefan spoke up.
"He's getting closer." Klaus replied with a little tilt of his head.
"Let him, I would love a reunion." Jade chimed in, twisting her head and waving at them with a dart in her hand.
Klaus huffed in amusement and began to pass the Salvatore, although he quickly grabbed him by his arm, keeping him in place. "Let me handle it."
"No, let me handle it." Jade walked up to them, wiping her bloody hands on some napkin.
Klaus raised his eyebrows, eyes darting between the two vampires. "Why would I let you leave? Any of you?"
"Because you know I'll come back."
"Because I'll kill him and the problem's gone? Duh."
Stefan took a deep breath in irritation. "Let me do it. You saved his life, I'm at your service."
Klaus let out a quiet groan, his eyes rolling. "It all sounds so tedious and indentured." He murmured. "Aren't you even having the least a bit of fun?" He asked with a grin, pointing at the panting werewolf. Then, he glanced at the blonde, who just waved at Ray with her freshly dipped dart. "Jade does."
"Because she's a psychopath." Stefan replied immediately, earning a glare from the blonde.
Well, he isn't wrong... but hey!
Ignoring Jade, he turn around. "I will make sure that my brother won't bother us anymore." He said, twisting his head around as he walked out of the bar.
Jade shook her head at the Original. "Boring." She sang, walking to the werewolf again.
"Did you just called me boring?" Klaus asked with an arched eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched her aiming at their prisoner.
"Is your hearing catching up to your years?" Jade exclaimed, throwing the dart right into his eyeball.
"You're doing it wrong." Klaus muttered, walking up to her.
Jade scoffed. "I'm inflicting pain wrong?" She quirked an eyebrow, her head twisting to meet his gaze as he suddenly appeared right behind her.
"You keep throwing it in just his face. And here, sweetheart, is your mistake." Klaus murmured, his lips almost brushing her ear as they both locked their eyes onto the writhing werewolf before them. "If he keeps getting hit in almost the same place all the time, the pain becomes milder, he gets used to it. However, when you throw it in a place he doesn't expect..." He trailed off, moving her hand with a gentle touch, adjusting her aim to a spot on Ray's chest. Jade threw the dart, making the werewolf cry out in pain. "See?" The Original asked with a smirk, glancing at the side of her face.
Jade narrowed her eyes, feeling his breath on her ear. "I'll remember for the future." She murmured, glancing to the side at Klaus, who's lips curled into a half-smile, his expression a mixture of intrigue and something deeper, something unreadable. He took a step back, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer before he turned away.
Some time passed and the werewolf finally told them the secret he had been so careful to hide. As Klaus taunted the werewolf, Jade had few little meals around the bar, also feeding her new pet, finding some meat in the bar's kitchen. Now, she was sitting on the pool table, a cigarette in her hand as she watched the Original toying with his prisoner.
"Alright, Ray." Klaus exclaimed, tearing the chains that held the werewolf in place. "I think it's time for you to lie down, you look a bit... worn out." He mocked, making Jade snort with amusement. Seconds later, she flinched, the werewolf's body landing right next to her with a loud thud. "Now, it's a three-step process." Klaus mused, circling the pool table. "This is step one; I want you to drink from my wrist."
"I told you where to find my pack. What more do you want from me?" Ray questioned, his voice weak as he struggled to breathe.
Klaus leaned against the table, eyes fixed on the werewolf. "Have you been listening to a word we've been saying?" He asked in exasperation, cocking his head towards the blonde. "I have great plans for you." He sneered, his voice a low murmur as he leaned theateningly towards the panting man. "Sweetheart, may you━" He started, but Jade immediately understood his intent, passed her dagger into his outstretched hand, pulling it from her thigh band.
What? When you practically live with the guy 24/7, you start to know him a bit.
Klaus smirked in appreciation and, in one swift move, slashed his wrist. Second later, he shoved it right into the werewolf's mouth. "He'll thank me for it later." He exlaimed towards the bar's occupants with a toothy grin. "There we go! Attaboy!" Jade raised her eyebrows, an amused smile threatening to be let out as she watched the Original. She surpressed it by taking a mighty drag and exhaling it upwards.
Chill out, Forbes.
As Klaus finally withdrawed his wrist with a sigh, Ray started to cough. "What are you gonna do now?" He asked, his voice shaky as he locked his terrified gaze with the Original.
"It's time for step two, Ray." Klaus murmured patronisingly. After a second, he glanced at the blonde with a raised eyebrow. "Would you like to do the honours?" He asked, nodding at the man underneath them.
Jade smiled, putting a burning cigarette in her mouth, jumping down from the table. "With pleasure." She mumbled, brushing past Klaus, who just smirked in response as she snapped the soon-to-be-hybrid's neck. Lifting her gaze, she saw Stefan watching them with a sour face. "Oh, hi, Stefan." She smiled with a little wave, cocking her head to the side. "How's your pathetic brother?"
"He won't bother us anymore." He responded, walking up to them.
"I knew you'd pass the test. You still care for your brother and your old life." Klaus said, eyeing the Salvatore.
Stefan chuckled humorlessly. "No, I don't care about anything anymore." He shook his head, taking a seat beside the bar.
"You put on a good show, Stefan. I almost believe you." Klaus followed the vampire, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Let's hope for your brother's sake that he does. Otherwise, Jade will be the one to... take care of him, next time." He said as he leaned in towards the vampire, eyes darting to Jade for a second. "You never stop caring about your family, do you? But every time you feed, the blood makes it easier to let go." He whispered, making Stefan's jaw clench. "Make it easier to accept the harsh truth."
Some time later, Salvatore couldn't stand the Original's taunting and walked impetuously out of the bar. Jade smirked to herself and followed the vampire, throwing some excuse to Klaus, who was too busy daydreaming about his new army anyway.
Hearing the voice of the Gilbert girl, Jade took a puff of her cigarette, walking slowly toward an emotional Stefan. "Will you? Be okay?" She mocked.
"Jade, I'm not in the mood." He replied, his voice already tired exasperated.
"Did you forget that I've been nice enough for these past three months?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, looking knowingly at him, to which he clenched his jaw. "I would be really careful, Stefan. We don't want it to get messy, do we?"
"What do you want from me?" He shook his head, arms spreading in the air as he looked at her in defeat.
"To pay for your sins." Jade shrugged nonchalantly. "And I will collect, when the time is right." She said, pointing at him with her cigarette.
Stefan shook his head, rubbing his face with his hands. "I'm sorry. For Vicki..." He trailed off, and Jade clenched her jaw, hearing her late friend's name. "I know this pain. Really, I do." He said sincerily, pointing at his chest. "I also lost my best friend."
Jade looked at him in curiosity. After a second of scanning him up and down, she spoke up. "What was her name?"
Stefan took a big breath. "Lexi." He whispered. "She... she was my soulmate." He said, his eyes fixed on the ground. "She always helped me to get back on track... in situation like these." A quiet, humorless chuckle escaped his lips.
"How did she die?" Jade asked, but when he just threw her a look, she raised her eyebrows. "You've got to be kidding me." She muttered with a little shake of her head, flickering her burnt cigarette away. "Do you really want to save him, Stefan? Or is it just your moral code talking?" She asked, honestly curious. When she heard no response, she continued. "He killed your best friend, did unforgivable things to your other one, made your life miserable for God-knows how many years... and look at you." She nodded at him. "Still blindly loyal to him."
"He's my brother." Stefan spat, his voice defensive.
Jade let out an amused huff. "I know. By blood. Nothing else." She shook her head, arms spreading in the air, her shoulders shrugging. "Family doesn't do things like that to each other. They lie, punish, hurt━yes, of course, but━"
"You don't know anything about family's pain. Yours is perfect." He interrupted her through gritted teeth.
She wanted to laugh.
Or kill someone.
Jade clenched her jaw, her head twitched to the side as she tried to surpess her momentary anger. "Over the past months, Klaus has been more like your brother than Damon ever was. And that's saying a lot, since he's a thousand years old maniac with a murder kink." She snorted, glancing towards the establishment's windows. "I would think about some stuff, if I were you." She said in a low tone, her face stone cold. After a second, she spun around, aiming for the bar once again.
Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, twisting her head with a malicious smirk on her lips. "Oh, and by the way━they kissed." She whispered, as if telling a secret. Her smile turned to a wicked one, when she saw the look on his face. "Have a great night, Stefan." She winked knowingly, turning around towards the bar, leaving the broken Salvatore alone.
As she slightly pushed the front door ajar, she caught sight of Klaus offering her cat a gentle whiff of his hand. Jade rested her head against the doorframe, a small, involuntary smile forming on her lips, her bad mood disappearing in an instant.
Second later, her face fell.
What, in the absolute fuck, was that?
