Anniversary

"Nii-san, that was a sensitive question..." Tsukishima trailed, rubbing his temples. "Oh– wait, really?!" He questioned, his head snapping towards Y/n, who was looking down at her lap.

"Ah- I'm really sorry..." Akiteru trailed. Y/n looked up, smiling sadly. "No, it's alright. Besides, you didn't know," Y/n reassured. "Now that we're on the topic, I might as well tell you..." She trailed.

"I had an older brother too..!" Y/n claimed. "Had?" Mrs. Tsukishima questioned. "Ah... He's gone now," Y/n said. "Wait, really? Goodness..." She trailed. Y/n hummed. "It's his third death anniversary tomorrow," Y/n claimed.

"Third? Oh, dear..." Mrs. Tsukishima trailed. They sat in silence, proceeding to finish up dinner. Tsukishima glanced over at Y/n, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Oi. Stop that. You look repulsing," he said, making Y/n glare up at him. "Kei, that's—" "smile, you idiot. You look better with that dorky smile of yours," he continued, making Y/n's eyes widen. Seconds later, heat spread across her face.

"Did you just—?!" She questioned, not able to finish her sentence. Tsukishima looked away, his cheeks tinting pink. "Idiot. Don't get used to it..." He muttered. Mrs. Tsukishima chuckled quietly.

'It seems Kei knows her well enough to ease the tension.'

She sighed, slinging her bag on her shoulder as she proceeded to slip her shoes on. She opened the door, her shoulder's tensing up as a shadow cast over her. She looked up, meeting an icy amber gaze.

"Tsukishima?!" She questioned, stepping back a little. "What the hell?!" She questioned. He looked away, his hand going up to rub the back of his neck.

"I decided to come with you today..." He trailed. "To visit my brother?" Y/n asked. Tsukishima nodded shyly. Y/n sighed. "Geez... You should've told me..." She muttered. "Anyway, if you're coming with me, then let's go. I have to get something first," Y/n said, slipping past Tsukishima, closing the door behind her.

The bell chimed as the door to the shop was pushed open. "Ah! Y/n! You're back!" A middle-aged woman greeted. "Y/n-nee-chan's here?!" A high pitched voice asked. The backdoor that led to their home swung open, a small boy running towards Y/n.

She chuckled, crouching down and spreading her arms, anticipating the hug. The child jumped into her arms, snuggling into her warmth. "Hey there, Kitto~" she cooed. "How's my little nephew doing?" She asked, pulling away from him, a hand on his shoulder as she gave him a few pats on the head.

"Primary school is fun! Y/n-nee-chan was right!" He exclaimed. Y/n giggled, giving him a close eyed smile as she gave him a few more pats on the head. "How many times have I told you not to address her as 'nee-chan', but as 'oba-chan'?" A masculine voice asked.

(Obaa-chan and Oba-chan are different. Obaa-chan is a way to address your grandmother. Oba-chan is a way to address your aunt)

Y/n rolled her eyes as a familiar man and his fiance walked into the room. "Oh please. I'm fifteen. I'm too young to be called oba-chan. I was the one who asked him to refer to me as 'nee-chan'. And besides," she said. She looked her cousin in the eyes, using her hands to cover her nephew's ears.

"It's not my fault you got Hamako-san pregnant at sixteen. I'm not the one who couldn't keep their dick in their pants," Y/n said. She released her hold on the sides of her nephew's head, who raised a brow in confusion. "Oh please. You don't even have one," he said.

"My point exactly."

"Pfft..."

The sound of a laugh being held back caught everyone's attention. They all turned to the man behind Y/n. "Geez, Munchkin. I knew you were good with your words, but that was just entertainment on a whole other level," Tsukishima claimed, making Y/n chuckle.

"Right, Hana-oba-chan, Aniki, Hamako-san, I would like you to meet someone," Y/n said, standing up from her crouching position. Tsukishima bowed. "Tsukishima Kei," he said bluntly. "Ah! So this must be your boyfriend!" Her Aunt exclaimed.

"I never—"

"I never said you could have a boyfriend."

"You aren't—"

"Oh my, he's attractive and extremely tall too!"

"Hana-oba-chan—"

"When did you start—"

"WE AREN'T DATING!" Y/n yelled out. "He's just a friend. I'll explain more some other time. Anyway, I came here to pick up the flowers," Y/n said.

"Wait, but didn't he call you—" "it's an annoying nickname he picked up, just cause he's freakishly tall," Y/n said, making Tsukishima roll his eyes. "Right. Anyway, here. One for Keiko, and one for B/n," her aunt said, holding out the bouquets. Before she could grab them, Tsukishima had snatched them away.

"I'm not even gonna complain," she muttered. Tsukishima smirked. "Rightfully," he said. Y/n rolled her eyes, turning to her cousin. "Will you be visiting Nii-chan, Aniki?" She asked. "We will. We'll swing by later. We have to get Kitto prepared," he said. "You're bringing Kitto?" Y/n asked.

"He's six now. Plus, he wanted to come," he claimed. Y/n nodded, turning to the door. "Ittekimasu!" Y/n yelled, pulling the door open. "Itterashai!" They exclaimed.

"The rest of your family is quite... Interesting..." Tsukishima muttered. "Oh please. Don't even get me started on the rest of my cousins, aunts, and uncles," Y/n said, making Tsukishima smile a bit.

Eventually, they arrived at the cemetery. She smiled sadly, placing the bouquet of flowers on the grave.

"I'm back, Nii-chan..."
