Chapter 58: Run Away Bride

" Ben you focus on Jin, I'm going to go with Sam to the Prosan Empire. "

" That'll start a war you know, little lady. " Ben said.

" I know. And that's what I'm hoping for. He won't be able to win in a war against The Prosan Empire. So, if he tries he's going to fail. Take Jin back with you to the rebellion and get ready for a war. No doubt I know the rebellion will be with Prosan. I'll see you and Jin after the war, Ben. "

Ben took a minute to look at the woman in front of him. He knew you never came from royal descent, but at that moment, with your reasoning, the aura around you felt royal and untouchable. He felt like he was in the presence of someone important. He nodded and showed you a small smile.

" Don't worry about us then. I'll get Jin and get him out of here. There are others here that are going to crash the wedding and cause a right. The rebellion is going to make itself known again and we will most definitely be on the side of The Prosan Empire. Make sure you get out of here and soon. "

   " Thanks, Ben. "

Ben gave you a quick hug before walking to the closet. He jumped in and shut the doors behind him. You looked towards Sam, and he had one hand on the hilt of his sword.

" The king and queen have given me permission to use my sword. But I must ask is there certain people you wish for me to not strike? "

" Only use it when you need to. If someone tries to stop us. "

" Understood. Please follow me, there is a carriage waiting. "

You nodded and picked up your dress and ran with him to the front doors, leaving the beautiful bouquet behind. You opened the door and stepped out. Before you left the guards completely you turned towards them to hide Sam's real identity.

" This is my only living family member. He will be walking me down the isle. He is coming with me. "

The guards nodded, not saying a thing. They stood behind you clearly telling you that you were being escorted. You started walking with Sam at your side. Your arm was looped with his so it would seem like he was really walking you down the aisle. When you passed by the windows you could see the stars clearly in the sky. Before you were involved with the prince they reminded you of your father, but now you couldn't look at them without thinking of the prince, and that didn't sit well in your mind. You walked down the stairs and descended from the royal floor. You got closer and closer to the garden and it made your heartbeat pick up. When you reached the ground floor you could spot two guards standing in front of the doors waiting for you to stand in front of them. Sam leaned down to whisper in your ear,

" Tell them you forgot your bouquet in your room. One of them will run to grab it which leaves us one less opponent. We'll make a break for it past the guards and the door. Walk towards the door like you are going to stand in front of it, but when we reach the spot we are going to run instead. Okay? "

" Got it, but I have heels on. "

" Try and run as fast as you can. If anything I can carry you and defend us both. "

" Oh, that's right! Thank you for reminding me. " I said a little louder.

I turned towards the two guards behind me, acting like nothing important was said between Sam and me.

" I left my bouquet in my room. Could you please go grab it. "

One of the guards nodded and turned around to run back to the royal floor. Sam and I continued to walk towards the doors. When we got closer I let go of his arm. My heart was still pounding in my chest, and when we got to the door I could feel my adrenaline kick.

   " Go! " Sam yelled.

I ran past the guards with Sam at my side. We made it past the guards and we didn't stop running. There were some steps to the front doors, and guards were guarding the door. Sam had put his hand on my back to guide me and stay by my side as we ran.

" I'm going to distract them, you need to get to the carriage outside! It will be right in front of the doors! "

   " I understand! "

Sam pulled out his blade from its holder and it shone in the light. It looked like it new and that the blade had never been used before. The guards at the doors took notice of us and they pulled out their own blades, but there was no need for a comparison to see that Sam's was better. Sam ran ahead of me and raised his sword. His sword connected with one but he pushed them back with a great immense of strength. I got to the door, but my arm was grabbed and I was pulled away from the door.

" Get your hands off of her! "

Sam raised his sword and slashed through the guard's arm, and I felt the tight grip leave my arm. Sam kicked the doors open and I could see the carriage waiting for us outside. Sam sheathed his blade and I could hear the footsteps of the guard getting up from the floor and the others running from the hall. Sam looked behind us to see the guard rushing at us.

" Excuse me, my lady! "

Sam picked me up in a bridal fashion while unleashing his sword. He held me in one arm while his other held his sword above us, deflecting the attack from the rushing guard. I could feel my feet throbbing from running in heels, but I knew I shouldn't have been thinking about that. Sam pushed his sword against the guards. Sam's strength and skill amazed me because he was able to push the guard back just enough to turn around and run down the stairs. When we reached the ground Sam ran to the carriage and I opened the door to the elegant carriage. When the door was open Sam set me inside.

   " Thanks. "

" Don't thank me yet. Thank me when we get out of here. "

Sam slammed the door shut, but the guard he had pushed away earlier was now behind him with his sword raised.

   " Sam! "

   " I know! "

Sam's sword was already ready to block the attack. At the doors stood more guards and in front of them was Quinn. I could see his furious expression. He wore the same tux he wore the night he defied his father for the first time at the ball. But it looked like it was tailored for his body since he was thinner and taller. His sword was already unsheathed and ready to strike. Sam pushed against his sword and kicked the guard. This time there was more force in his kick, and it pushed the guard back onto the stairs and he landed on his back.

   " Driver! Go! "

Sam jumped onto the side of the carriage and the driver raised the whip up and it hit the horses lightly, but it was enough to get them to go. They started galloping away and Sam was holding on to the top of the carriage with his hand while his feet were on the rails outside of the carriage. I looked out of the window on the other door and I could see Quinn yelling at his guards to chase after us.

' That's why Sam stayed outside of the carriage. So, he could defend us. '

We got further and further away from them, but the guards had grabbed horses and they started galloping after us. Sam still had his sword unsheathed and ready to fight against the guards if they got too close. As we went through the town the horses stayed on our tail. I could see the gates of Madrathia in front of us, and we were so close to passing through the gates. I looked up at the top of the wall and saw two people take out the guards. They grabbed the ropes and opened the doors for us.

   ' The rebellion. '

We went through the opened gates and into the forest. The guards that followed us were grabbed from their horses and brought into the trees. Leaving their horses to stop and look around for their riders. Sam sheathed his sword and opened the door to the carriage. He came inside and sat down, closing the door. He didn't even break into a sweat.

   " Thank you, Sam. "

Sam only showed me a small smile and nodded at me. I leaned back against the chair and I could feel the tension in my shoulders be relieved and my posture become slack.

" If you wish you can nap. It will be a few hours until we reach the kingdom. "

" Thank you. After all of that I don't know how I'm tired. "

" Well, your marriage is at night. I can understand why you would be tired. "

   " Right. "

I leaned against the carriage door and shut my eyes, but what stopped me from sleeping was the sound of metal hitting metal. I opened my eyes and looked towards Sam. He had taken off his breastplate. He tapped his shoulder and looked at me with a neutral look.

" You may use my shoulder. It should be more comfortable than the door. "

   " Oh. . .thank you. "

I leaned my head against his shoulder, and I had to admit, it was more comfortable than the door. I closed my eyes and felt myself fall into a deep sleep.
