Quinn pulled me with him away from the festival and into the streets. We started looking everywhere for Jin but the assassin was still unable to be found. The streets were quiet and ghosted as everyone was at the festival. We walked hand in hand through the streets, even when I insisted that I could walk without his hand. He only replied by saying that it was for protection.

We turned around a corner and saw two figures walking down the street. We couldn't see them clearly, but what we could see was the unsheathed knife one of them held. Quinn noticed it too and pulled me into an ally and pressed us against the wall that was closest to them. He held my hand tightly as the two figures passed by. I couldn't see them clearly, but their figures were slim but strong. 

As soon as they passed Quinn pulled me to the other wall. He knew something suspicious was going on and as the future king, Quinn knew he had to figure out what it was. Quinn looked around the corner at the two figures to see one of them pin the other to the building. You walked in front of him and looked around the wall too. You could see the figures holding each other's collars.

Quinn noticed your sudden movement and realized that you were looking out at them too. He took the opportunity and put his arm around your stomach and pulled you to press against him as you both gazed out at the pair. He felt butterflies in his stomach and his face turned red. He was feeling happiness bloom in his chest and he didn't want it to go. It was perfect to him, he was holding his love under the stars and you two were alone together.

He shook his head realizing he can daydream later, and watched the two people quarrel. The one with the knife raised it to the other's throat.

   " What do you know? Huh, I don't think you really know anything about me or what I'm capable of. "

   " I know you've killed people. And that's all I need. "

   " I did it for a good cause. "

   " I'm sure you did. " The man said sarcastically. 

   " What do you really want from me? Tonight is an important night for me and you suddenly pull me away from all of that. "

   " We want you to help us. Again, I know you're skilled and you've heard why we want you and our mission. What's stopping you? "

   " The fact that my life would be on the line even more so than what it already is. The king wouldn't fancy this revolt now, would he? "

   ' He wants to overthrow the king. '

   " It's the only choice we have. He's raised taxes and for what? To hold an engagement party for his son? That's a great way to help the people of this town don't you think? "

   " The Prince might be a better ruler, you never know. He hasn't taken the throne yet. "

   " We all know that, but he's the bastard's son. Who's to say he won't rule like his father? "

   " You've heard what people have been saying. He's going against his father already. At the ball, he defied his father and wore his own clothing instead of what his father wanted. "

   " And he was taken away and probably disciplined further to the point that he would never defy him again. You know how harsh the king is, and it's not fitting for the kingdom. His son won't help us so we need to do this ourselves. Join us. "

   " No, I won't. "

   " Do you have a love? Someone, you want to protect? "

   " Yes. "

   " Then, save her from this disaster of a kingdom. We know that our situation is bad and that the kingdom isn't going anywhere but down. So, why not join us and make this kingdom a better place for her and your kin. "

It was silent for a moment and then the man with the knife let go. He put his knife away and held his hand out. The man who was attacked shook his hand and stamped a seal on the back of his hand. He put the stamp seal away in his jacket. 

   " Thank you. "

   " Why did you pick me? I know I'm good at killing but is there any other reason? "

   " My team know you understand the difference between right and wrong and you only kill people when you need to-"

   " It was a bad decision to become an assassin. You know why? "

It was still and no one spoke a word. The leaves could be heard bouncing on the ground.

   " Because to prove yourself you have to complete a mission on your own. As an assassin, you have to kill whoever the king says. In a team you can hide the fact that you didn't kill anyone, I've done that for years, but when you're alone it's easy to tell. I went on my mission and the mission was to kill a family. "

   " A whole family? "

   " No, the father was an amazing man but he denied the king's request to live in the castle. During the war, the king thought that the man didn't come and serve him because he was a traitor, so as my initiation I had to go and kill him, and anyone who saw. "

   " You didn't..."

   " I did. I killed him and left him for his wife to find. Only later did I realize what I did and seen his wife weep over her body while she kept their children locked in a room so they wouldn't be traumatized. I went back to the palace and the king elected me an assassin. "

The moonlight was shining brightly, and it bounced off of the material. When it bounced off of the store window it hit the man's face when he moved and you could recognize Jin's face. You felt sick to your stomach. 

   " I'm sorry son. I know that was rough for you, but God forgives even murderers and you know that what you did was wrong. You can turn a new leaf. "

   " That's all I want. "

   " That's what you'll get. You're deserving of it. "

Together they walked down the street and left you alone with Quinn. Quinn's eyes were wide and he was surprised by what had occurred. He was furious that the revolution thought of him as his father but he was happy that there were people against his father. What was better was that he didn't need to frame Jin for anything, he simply did it himself. He looked down at you to see your body going slack.

You were fainting. Quinn caught you in his arms and looked at your peaceful face to see tear stains running down your cheeks. He picked you up and decided to carry you back to the palace and investigate Jin further. He wouldn't tell his father of the revolution against him. Not until he could get to them first.
