My Choice

Yuliy's POV

When (name) walked back into the room, I noticed that she looked a little pale. Did something happen in the bath? No, if that was the case then she'd look angry but right now she appeared to be struggling with something. Just like when she had that solo mission.

There's no way Professor Willard gave her a mission. He'd gotten his book so there there was no need to make (name) go on another mission.

Then what?

Perhaps she's still pale from my playful behavior from earlier; I have to admit, it was unexpected. Even the others were shocked when I told them.

I had greeted (name) with a smile, only to get a slow but forced smile back; "what took so long, (name)? I thought it was going to be quick?" Dorthea asked to which the (h/c) head responded with "sorry. I lost track of time" she said. If only I didn't know her smile to be fake- then I'd believe her. Just like everyone else. But no. I knew her better than that. So what was wrong?

"Everything alright?" I whispered into her ear. Gazing into her eyes, they said: "what do I do?" It was as if she was pleading to the Gods for an answer; for some reason, it broke my heart. Seeing that pleading look on her face made me want to let her know that she could tell me anything.

Out of all the things I expected- her to ignore me, her to tell me everything was okay, to say that it was my fault- I never expected her to grab my hand, pull me out of the room, passed many other ones, and up to the roof.

The air on the roof was cool as the day became breezy. With the darkening sunset in the back, I noticed it was a whole scenery to take in with (name). Looking down at her, I saw her take in the sight as well- well, I can't blame her.

No One's POV

"Yuliy," (name) called out as her head faced the floor of the roof. Gaining the Sirius' attention, he replied with a concered voice, "is everything alright? What's wrong?" He asked; before he could even process anything, (name)'s hand that remained on Yuliy's wrist pulled his body closer as she wrapped her arms around him.

Her face buried into the taller one's chest letting out a hitched breath. Few seconds passed and Yuliy had just proccessed what happened; upon processing (name)'s actions, his eyes widened while feeling his face flush and his heart thumped.

Another hitched breath left (name)'s lips. Putting his hands on her shoulders for a second, the Sirius decided to, instead, hug her. Maybe she needed a hug and that's why she brought him up here.

Yuliy's strong arms enveloped around the smaller one's body comfortingly. Not a word was said nor was a word needed to be said; the physical contact between each other was enough to make the two ease up. Patiently, the Sirius survivor waited for the half-vampire to tell him what was wrong; he yearned to know.

Minutes passed with (name)'s silence but Yuliy waited.

"What do I do?"

(Name) mumbled but her voice was muffled by Yuliy's shirt. Feeling the vibration of her voice, Yuliy grabbed her shoulders- softly pushed her back to see her eyes full of tears that threatened to leak her glimmering (e/c) and red eyes. If he was honest, (name)'s eyes looked like they held the stars in them; the glimmer of the tears must've made it seem that way.

Confusion, concern, alarm- all of those feelings mixed inside the Sirius' chest, "what are you talking about? Whatever it is, you know you can tell me" he said with slightly wide eyes. Hearing his soft voice calmed (name) to a dainty extent; thinking back for a minute she wondered why she dragged Yuliy. Was she under so much pressure from choosing that she needed someone to help her vent?

Focusing her gaze to meet the older's blue one of Yuliy:s, (name) felt all the tension leave her body. She felt as if she could tell Yuliy everything- about his brother, his offer, her inner conflict, etc. She felt like she could say anything. "Yuliy, I brought you up here because I need to talk to you," the (h/c) head said causing the almaring feeling in the said teen's chest bubble up but nonetheless, he nodded his head "alright".

There the two now sat on the roof. (Name) told Yuliy everything; why she appeared down this morning, her dream that made her sweat resulting in her bath, she even told Yuliy about how she saw Mikhail in the baths and what they talked about. Everything. Every. Single. Thing. She said it all. Meanwhile, Yuliy's eyes enlarged in disbelief (well his brother did see you naked before he did *stereotypical French artist laugh*).

"I know what I'm conflicted about is stupid but I can't help but wonder. What if I go with Mikhail? Would I be able to truly see why Yevgraf wants the Ark of Sirius? If the chance was given to me, would I kill Yevgraf along side with your brother? Or would I rather go with you?  Will I continue to travel with you and help you find the Ark? Am I willing to potentially learn more about you then I already did? What... what should I do? What path should I choose? I-I don't know anymore."

Listening to (name)'s voice crack and call out in desperation made Yuliy's heart break. Oh how much wanted to just hold the younger teen, tell her everything was alright and protect her from the world. "(name), no matter what path you choose, your path and mine will always cross. There will never be a time when our paths will not collide," Yuliy's voice was filled with so much warmth it almost made (name) cry.

He was right. No matter what path (name) chose, they would pass each other. Now the question remains, who should she choose? After revealing everything to Yuliy, the (h/c)nette felt a HUGE weight lift off of her shoulders. Thinking of her decicions and which she would dread less,  a sudden thought popped into the sixteen-year-old's head, "say Yuliy, if you were in my shoes- between me or Mikhail, who woud you choose?" She pondered aloud.

Yuliy's jaw dropped slightly at hearing the strange question that it made him think. With his thumb and index fingeer on his chin, the seventeen-year-old nodded his head "I see why you're struggling. But if I was completely honest, I'd choose the one I can't live without" 'like you' Yuliy thought the last part.

In all honesty, he wasn't lying. If he did have the choice, he'd choose (name) because he's been with her for so many years that it feels so natural being around her unlike his brother; don't get the wrong idea, he still loves his brother with his heart but in his point of view, the light air of awkwardness did drop in every now and then.

As if a switch clicked in (name)'s head, she looked up at Yuliy with eyes that shined. It wasn't just choosing the person she couldn't live without. It was also about choosing the one whom she trusted more. Sure, Mikhail sounded like he would truly protect her but (name) felt as if with Yevgraf around, that wouldn't happened because chances of Mikhail's master being Yevgraf was too high. Quite the risk, I know.

The two eventually made their way inside and to their room meeting with their fellow Jaegers who greeted them with questions of what was going on. Of course, they both answered with "we just had to talk about something" before making their to their bed that they now shared.

They both sat theirselves on the bed. Yuliy's back leaning against the headboard while (name) sat in between his legs, her back against his chest. The two entangled their hands, letting the warmth of each other spread within them. Something that (name) didn't know though, was the fact that the Sirius survivor was sweating in fear; he wanted (name) to go with him but if this was a chance to sneak some information out of Yevgraf then, by all means, he thought the (h/c)nette should go with his brother.

But why did Mikhail ask (name) to go with him? When did he figure out she was a vampire?

Soon, the time came when Mikhail would come to (name) asking for her decision. Within those three hours, she had come to a conclusion so washing herself up after dinner and mentally preparing herself, (name) made her way out of the room and up to the roof.

Just as she expected, Mikhail was standing there "thought you weren't going to show up," he joked to which made (name) roll her eyes "yeah, well here I am. I've also made up my mind." Her voice announced to the older. The silver hair of Mikhail shined in the moonlight as his stormy eyes watched the girl before him.

"I choose... Yuliy."

Mikhail's eyes didn't widen in surprise nor did they glare in jealousy. Instead, he smirked "I figured you would say that. My brother must really mean a lot to you" he said. Upon hearing the silver head's remark, (name) blushed "u-uh... yeah. I guess he is" she stumbled across her words.

A deep chuckle left Mikhail's throat "well then, if our paths are willing to cross, I'll see you again" and with that he jumped away from the mansion. (Name) watched as his figure got further and further to the point the darkness prevented her from seeing him. A sigh left (name)'s lips, now that she made her choice it was one thing less to worry about.

"Now to see how my choice will affect my fate." She said before heading inside. The warmth of the mansion engulfed her in its arms as it led her to the room and to the bed where Yuliy slept. Slipping into the bed beside the Sirius who hugged his arms around her, she felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her. Closing her eyes she decided to sleep until the morning when she and Yuliy planned to leave the capital.

This is where the twists and turns start to take a toll.

Oof save me. I'm at my mom's friend's baby shower with her and I don't know anyone. I also don't like my relatives who are here, we don't get along.

Also, I had to count the amount of people who voted for Mikhail and Yuliy twice lolol.

For all the Mikhail voters, I might do some extra chapters at the end about what would've happened if you did choose Mikhail. Anyways, bye bye! I'll see you next time!!
