It's...
Warning: long diolauge
After breakfast, the group decided to wait until later to go talk to the general. In the meantime, they would rest.
Heading back to the hotel, Ryoko and Major Iba had gotten checked in. Yuliy, (name), and Bishop had gone to their own rooms that they paid to stay one more night in; "oh- shoot. Yuliy!" (Name) called out to the older teen who answered back in acknowledgment, "yeah?" "I'm gonna go buy a new jacket and gloves" she announced.
Yuliy, who stood outside on the balcony, offered his going too but was blown off by (name) saying how she would make it quick. The seventeen-year-old nodded, "I'll be waiting" he smiled as the (h/c) head gave a beam herself before going out the room door.
Standing alone on the balcony, Yuliy watched (name) walk out of the hotel. Noticing that he was watching, (name) turned her body sending him a wave which he happily returned along with a grin. Farther and farther she walked into the streets of South Sakhalin.
Throughout the entire time she was in sight, Yuliy watched her (and she would give a little wave here and there) until she had disappeared within a hoard of people. Now without sight of (name), the Sirius felt his spirit drop. Allowing his mind to wander, thoughts like 'how do I tell her that I love her?' 'What would've happened if I didn't meet her?' And 'would we still have met if we lived another life?'. They were all things he thought about.
As the wind became colder, Yuliy pulled his jacket closer to him trying to gather his heat, "are you alright?" A voice called from behind him. It was Ryoko. She made her way up to the Sirius "why?" He asked rather coldly.
Being a little taken back by his sudden hostility, Ryoko hesitated for a second "...you get cold easily. (Name)-san told me once," the very mention of the girl's name seemed to brighten up Yuliy's cold demeanor. Silence grew over them like bamboo creating a somewhat awkward feel, 'think, Ryoko! What's something to talk about?' The brunette questioned herself.
"Your father" she blurted out gaining Yuliy's attention, "I hope you get to see him" Ryoko hoped with a sad smile. She never knew about the Sirius' father- or anything about him if the sort. What about (name)? Did she know? Actually, what was her story? What made her join the Jaegers?
Seeing her pure concern made a small smile dance on Yuliy's features. Maybe he could trust her with what was on his mind this one time, "when I really think about it, I don't really know what to say if I do see him. I don't even remember his face." Yuliy's honesty and slight vulnerability strained in his voice widened Ryoko's chocolate brown eyes in shock. She couldn't even fathom a life without knowing her father
"What's a father like?"
Again, Ryoko was shocked; "couldn't you ask (name)-san?" She wondered out loud getting a skeptical look from the Sirius. "(Name)'s description of her father is completely different from how your father is. He didn't abuse or hide you from the world." Abuse? Hide? Just what happened to (name) as a child?
Not wanting to ignore Yuliy's earlier question though, Ryoko thought about her own father "um... let's see. In my father's case he's stubborn, naggy, and doesn't understand me at all and..." she started to trail off because, in all honesty, there wasn't to her father in her perspective.
"And?" Yuliy wondered in pure curiosity and amusement upon seeing the brunette's flustered state; "I'm sorry. That's about it" Ryoko spoke apologetically. Yuliy responded that he understood before getting interrupted y Ryoko chiming "-but that's his way of caring for me, and I think maybe it's because he's really trying his best to protect me. He's protecting the family that he loves. Perhaps being able to protect us is his pride."
This got Yuliy thinking: a father doing whatever he can to keep his precious family safe. Is this what his own father was doing? Speaking of father, Mikhail more of his dad figure as a kid. For six years, everything he's been taught considering hunting and protecting himself- Mikhail taught him the basics. Was protecting their mother and him his pride?
"Yuliy-san," Ryoko called out to the contemplating teen who turned towards her, "what's (name)'s story?" She asked. Why did she want to know? Was she just that curious to learn more about the two? Did he even have the right to tell her (name)'s story?
Well, he did tell her aout (ame)'s father so the etire thig would't hurt right?
"Ever since she was or- maybe even before that- (name)'s parents had been on the run from vampires. She was never allowed to leave the house they lived in and was locked away in her room throughout most of the day. Her parents would fight a lot too- to the point where it would get physical."
"She can still recal the shouts, screams, and shatterig of their home. But it wasn't only her parents who would get hurt, (name) was abused throughout the time she was locked in her room. If you ever look, she has some scars across her body; I, myself, have only see the ones on her wrists and ankles."
Yuliy grimmly spoke; Ryoko felt her chest ache and stomach churn. How could parents even fathom the thought to hit their own kid? '(Name)-san suffered a childhood like that? Then how did she escape from them?' It was like a book. You got to an interesting part and wanted to figure out what happes next.
Sensing her want to know more, Yuliy continued; "she still never got to see the outside (me at this point) and this went on for ten years. As she told me, she was in her designated room when she heard crashing. She thought it was her parents so she didn't think much of it... u til she opened the door to peek. Not only did she see the house wrecked- blood was everywhere- her parents were hung on the wall- vampires crowded the room and in the middle of it all was Yevgraf."
With a scared gasp leaving her lips, Ryoko pondered what would happen next. Even Yuliy appeared grim; it was obvious this was one of his least favoirte parts of the story. But for some reason, he didn't continue with the story.
A minute or so had passed, Yuliy still hadn't said anything and Ryoko started to think that he might've forgotten what happened at the end. But if he's remembered this much then the ending shouldn't be that hard either.
Rubbing the back of his neck with an exasperated sigh, Yuliy kept his gaze to the setting sun; "(name) didn't tell me this part. She couldn't. Of course, I won't force it out of her so that's the end of her story basically." He grinned sheepishly.
Ryoko was speechless but understood. It would be hard to talk about something as dark as that. "It's alright. I'm amazed she even told you. If that happened to me, I would never be able to tell someone something as horrifying as that. She must really trust you." Despite saying this, Ryoko felt a tad jealous. A relationship like that with Yuliy must've been nice- or anyone for that matter.
Yuliy's hair bounced as he nodded "the trust between us is like a barrier from others around us. In my perspective, the reason we fight so much is because we know each other too well" he chuckled earning a perplexed gaze from the brunette.
"When you know someone so well, you notice the little things that appear off." The sapphire-eyed teen chuckled. Ryoko felt a grin grow on her face before it fell on thinking of (name) and Yuliy. Suddenly, a thought popped up in her head, with hesitation, Ryoko let her eyes remain on her hands that she found interesting; "how much do you trust (name)-san?"
Confounded by the abrupt question, Yuliy had to process it for a second. Realizing what she asked, Yuliy's eyes softened. He leaned against his arms against the rails of the balcony, "I trust (name) so much. With her, I have no secrets; funny, she said she yearned to learn more about me when there's nothing much left to hide... except for my feelings." Yuliy mumbled the last part getting Ryoko's attention.
The look in Yuliy's eyes broke her heart. His sapphire eyes that were usually sharp and in guard were now soft and held such a warm feeling. His facial expression was as gentle as a spring breeze- even his voice when he spoke held the warmth of love.
"Yuliy-san... do you love (name)-san?"
"It's... complicated."
