"Mom I am ready" I inform my mom. I am Irine Woods and this is my story. Right now mom is taking me to a counselor because she thinks I am suffering from depression. I mean yeah I am not that bubbly as I used to be but she must understand my reasons for not being a social butterfly. "Gwen, are you sure you wanna stay alone at home?" mom asked Gwen.

 Well, Gwen woods is my younger sister by two years. Well she was the queen bee in her middle school and is about to start her first year in high school. "Yeah mom i will be fine. Unlike someone i don't sulk for something that happened in my past." And yeah i forgot to tell you she is a first class bitch.

"Mom, can we leave. I have homework to do after we come back" I asked my mom in my monotone voice. "Yes babe, just wait a sec." I sighed. I wonder why is she getting so worked up to meet my new counsellor.

After a few minutes, that seemed like forever, my mom came out in a simple white blouse and pencil skirt. To say my mom looked pretty would be a understatement, she looked flawless. "So, shall we leave?" My mom asked. I simply nod. So lets go and visit the counsellor...

We, I mean me, went and met the counselor. He was a sweet guy who was Japanese. I mean mom knew my obsession for Japanese people and their culture. So i did not feel uncomfortable when i answered his questions. His name was kinda cute.

 Dr. Yamato was very understanding and patient, unlike the other counselors i met. We left his house and drove in suitable silence. "So, what questions did he ask?" My mom would always ask me this after i visit a counselor. "Nothing much, just simple questions like my favorite color and what i like to do in my ideal time." She smiled at me and continued to drive. 

 We reached home i started to do some of homework, not exactly homework but preparing myself for my new and final year of highschool. Yeah guys, the girl over here is turning a senior tomorrow. I finished my work and went to sleep. I hope this year is better than my past one. I sighed one last time and let sleep drift over me. Within seconds i was asleep.

I woke up with a normal start for the day. When i went down mom had already laid down my i.e. our breakfast. Yeah, Gwen was on her seat at the table in all her glory. I mentally sighed. Great, i just had to see her face first thing in the morning. "Good morning babe." Mom said with a smile. I returned her smile with my own small one and mumbled a 'morning'. I sat down an started to have my breakfast. It was my favorite egg and toast. I started to nibble on a piece of toast. "Ew, have some manners at least on the table, pig" I simply glanced at her and mentally glared.

 "Whatever" i mumbled and finished my breakfast.

"I am leaving, mom. Bye!" i shouted from our door. "Have a nice day babe and make some new friends" she smiled and went back inside. I practically winced when she said to make new friends. Definitely i would make a ton of new friends. Hint the sarcasm guys! 

I walked to our high school as it was not so far away. Lincoln high was a prestigious high school. I practically love my school. As i enter school, i collected my schedule from the office and headed for my locker. Suddenly i hear someone call my name.

 "Irine!!! Irine!! Over here!!!!!! "I turn around to find Ally running towards me. I give her a small smile and wave weakly. "Hey Ally" i greet. 

Suddenly she stopped in her tracks. "Zach, did you see what happened just now?"
That's when i noticed Zach standing next to Ally. They both have been pretty much going out their entire life. "UM.. No?" Zach answered, unsurely. Ally Suddenly bursted, what i mean is started to shout loudly. "Goddamn Zach, Irine just greeted me!!"

"So?" Zach asked

"She never really greeted me so casually in the past 5 month!!"

I practically winced. She suddenly turned towards me and gave me a apologetic smile. "Sorry Irine, i didn't mean to"

I gave her a weak smile"I know"

"So, whats your homeroom class number?" Thanks Zach, really thanks.

"Mine is 416" Ally said.

"I know." Zach simply replied. 

Ally started to pout and kept on muttering 'jerk'

I chuckled at her reaction "mine is 416 as well" i said
"Cool, R-"

Before Ally could complete her sentence, the warning bell rang and we practically jogged to our class. As i entered, i went and sat at the seat near the window. Ally sat ahead of me with Zach besides her. Those two are just soo cute!! But i would never say that out aloud. I noticed the seat next to me is empty, i guess the effect of last year is still going on. I quietly sigh. Just then our class teacher enters the class. "Good morning class, I an your homeroom teacher Mrs. Braganza. I will be teaching you guys English. But before we start, we have a new student."

She motions towards the door and a boy walks in. My breath hitched in my throat and my eyes widened. 

"Class, meet our new student Kou Nakamura. Please treat him properly."

He smiled towards everyone and then his eyes met mine. It felt like the world stopped. I know it sounds cliché. But its true!! He smiled towards me an walked in my direction.
He came and sat next to me.

"Hey, I am Kou"His Japanese accent was heavy but he spoke English fluently

"Hey, I am Irine. Nice to meet you"

"You have a pretty name" he beamed

Wtf!! A Japanese boy sitting next to me and complimenting my name. Can this day get any better!!!
