It's my mom's Birthday today, so this chapter is dedicated to her. Hope you like it!

It's been two months since my senior year started. These two months went in a daze. Partying, having fun, night outs, laughing, giggling and all that a high schooler wishes in his or her life.Everyone around me is very pleased. Gwen decided to have a move in her life and is dating someone from her class. Ally and Zach are as usual. They bicker like dogs and next moment you find them making out janitor's room. Yup, they were caught red handed. And Kou is......... Kou.

He has started to flirt with me. Since he thinks I am into 'perverted' guys. Well, his perverted side only surfaces when we are alone, with others he is the sweet innocent Asian transfer student. I kinda feel special that he only treats me like that, but sometimes he crosses his limits, Like what he is doing right now.

Poke. Poke.       'No reaction'

Poke. Poke.       ' Getting annoyed'

Poke. Poke.        'I am at my limit'

"What the hell do you want?" I whisper-shouted, glaring at the the guy next to me, only to fine him smirking.

"Aw man,  I thought you will say fuck instead of hell" He said while faking a pout. Damn those lips. Concentrate Irine, concentrate.

"I won't" I said with the end-of-the-topic look.

The bell rang, indicating the end of our day, I got up trying to outrun the guy racing my footsteps.

"Once"

"no"

"Just once" He is using those puppy dog eyes. Ah Ha! not gonna work this time, last time I obliged to it, I ended up in public men's room in the park. I don't even wanna think about it.

"Please?"

"No"

"Pretty Please" Now he is getting annoying.

"I.SAID.FUCKING.NO!!!" Oh no. Now everyone in the hallway were looking at me to figure out why I am screaming like a banshee.!! Geez, it's embarrassing!

 "Well, there you go. It wasn't that hard" I heard him saying. That smug look on his face was evident in his voice.

  "Kou, don't you think you should rather focus on the upcoming test?"

"Which test?" A question mark was evident above his head.

"You know, the tests before Halloween" I said with a sigh.

"What the..... There is a test?" Panic was written all over his face.

"Hey guys what are you talking about?" Zach jumped on Kou. Like, really jumped.

" Nothing, just making her say the word 'fuck'" Kou said with a smirk.

"Oh" was all Zach said as he turned to face Ally.

"Ally dear", He cooed.

"Oh god" Ally muttered under her breath.

"Can you say the word 'fuck' for me?" Zach asked, grinning.

"Fuck." Ally kept a blank face. But I could see she wanted to burst out laughing like a mad man.

"You're no fun" Zach just started sulking as we all continued to laugh at him.

"Oh looky who's here" I froze. I knew that voice well, so well that if many guys shouted from the rooftop, I could still distinguish his voice.

"Irine, come on let's go", Ally said as she pushed me to move forward. I shakily took a step ahead.

"Oh, You're leaving? Not gonna hook me up with a new girl?" Alex smirked. Even if I have my back faced to him, I can make out what facial expression he holds. Creepy? I know.

"Alex, say one more thing and I will forget we are childhood friends" Zach said in a menacing tone.I turned to face him even though I am just a few seconds away from peeing in my pants.

"Aw, I am scared." Alex said with a fake terrified look.

"Look man, I don't know who you are to Irine, but I think you should lay low" Kou said with a glare. Remind me to never get on his bad side.

"And who might you be?" Alex asked, slightly amused, but irritation flashed in his eyes.

"Her friend," Kou said, still glaring.

"Oh so you are the famous but not so famous new kid. Hello to you too", Alex smirked while looking at me. I know where this is going.

"But before you consider as your friend, do you know her sins?" Alex smirked. I wanna slap that smirking face of his. Damn ass.

"I don't care what she did in her past, to speak the truth, I don't give a shit. All I care about is the girl that Irine is right now." Kou said. He took a step closer to Alex." And believe me, you are not worth her time, you douche bag" with a last glare, Kou turned around and grabbed my upper arm and dragged me towards the library.

It was fun to see that smirk wiped out of Alex's face, but the most amazing feeling was the feeling erupting in my heart. As if I am protected. As if I am wanted. As if I am loved. And all these warm emotions were towards this Asian guy in front of me.

Damn. I am in deep trouble. I love him.

"God, It's so frustrating!!" Ally exclaimed.

"Why the fuck should I care whether H2SO4 is acidic or basic?" Zach muttered.

"I don't get the equation!!!" it was Kou's turn to grumble.

"Did you guys pay any attention to what is being taught in the class?" All three shook their heads at the same time. As expected.

"Ally, you need to remember that II World War started when Hitler, The dictator of Germany attacked Poland on 1st of September, 1939". Ally's mouth was agape and she nodded her head slowly.

"Zach, remember acids are sour and bases are bitter. H2SO4, that is, sulfuric acid, is of course, n acid." Zach nodded dumbly.

"And Kou, This is an simultaneous equation, if you first multiply both the equations with a number to get the coefficient of x and y same, then you can easily solve it" I finished the sum, and gave it to him, smiling.

"Wait, wait wait..." Kou mumbled.

"How much did you get in history in the final exams?" Ally asked

"Umm. 98?"

"And chemistry?" Zach asked.

"97"

"And in Algebra?" Kou questioned slowly, as if asking a kid where he hid his father's sock.

"99?" Even I answered slowly. What are they thinking about.

They faced each other. Then suddenly nodded, which made me jump a little. The next what they did was not expected at all!

"MASTER, SAVE US!!".

"Ally!" I scolded again.

"What?"she looked so innocent questioning me.

"How many times do I have to tell you it's Benito Mussolini, NOT, Menito Bussolinu!!!!" I am getting sick of this! For the past four hours, we have been in my room, trying to figure out World War II, Acid Base reactions and Linear Equations.

"Oh sorry" Ally smiled sheepishly.

"Oh god" I muttered under my breath.

Out of all the three, Zach understood the best. He quickly got the explanations. Kou was second. He needed to be explained slowly, step by step, unlike Zach. And the worst condition was of Ally. I  mean, she made Italy attack Japan,even though they are on the same side!!!

"Let's take a break" I announced. It's been our 6th break yet. Ally stretched a little and went saying she wanted to pee.

"I'll get you guys something to drink and eat." I said while getting up.

"I'll help you" Kou got up as well.

We made our way to my kitchen and continued to work in a awkward silence. I knew he wanted to ask something, and I have a feeling I know what he wants to ask.

"Ask your question" I said, without beating around the bush.

"W-What?"

"I know you want to ask something" I said with a faint smile on my face.

"Are you sure?" He looked quite nervous.

"Yup"

"What was your past relation with Alex? I mean, there must be a reason why he treats you like that" Kou asked, his eyes held the emotions of concern and curiosity.

"Well, you see..."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't wanna" Kou smiled, but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

"No, I want to tell you, you are really important part of my life, and it will be unfair to keep myself a secret. I need to open up to you" I took a deep breath.

"Alex and me were best friends. Like, you know, since we were in diapers. We were so close that people often told us we will marry each other in our near future" I grimace at the word marry. 

"Whatever others told did not matter to us. We loved each other like siblings. At least I did. I "never held special feelings for him." I sighed again. Now comes the serious part.

"Then one day, in our first year of High school, I meet Zach, Ally and ....... Stacy" Just saying her name brings tears to my eyes.

"We all got really close. Especially me and Stacy. She is very beautiful. Along with it, she carried a beautiful heart." I smiled sadly, remembering our past days.

"All boys were attracted to him. All boys means Alex as well. He asked me to play cupid. Then things started to get messy. Later,in the second year, I did something so cheap which lead to Stacy hate me. She shifted out of the country. Alex was angry and removed it all on me. Since then, this hatred has begun." I didn't even realize I was crying until Kou gave me a tissue. I sniffed and then something unexpected happened.

Kou hugged me.

I was pressed against his chest. It felt so safe. I would feel his warmth radiating of him. I slowly sniffed his scent. He smelled.... sweet. Like grapes. It was mingled with his manly scent. I felt at ease in his arms. I slowly opened my hand which a fist against his chest. I could feel the beating of his heart. I was kind of relieved it was just like mine. Fast. As if gonna pop out soon.

"And you tell us to keep it PG" we heard a voice from the door of the kitchen. We immediately let go of each other. As soon as his warmth left me, the coldness hit me like the slap i had gotten from my mom when I stole her mascara and lipstick. That was when I was 10.

" W-What do you mean?" I asked, blushing. From the corner of my eyes i could see KOu was facing the floor, but his ears were red, deep red.

"Oh nothing" Ally just shook her head, still having the amused.

"I-I'll wait for you guys in the room" Kou rushed out of the kitchen. I could feel Ally still drilling nails on the side of my head, with a knowing smirk that read, 'I am so not gonna let this go easily'.

I just continued to get some snacks and drinks for us. I was about to leave the room when Ally grabbed my shoulder.

"I am glad you are opening up to others. Even though you hid most of the truth, I am glad you are making progress" I could see her eyes glisten with tears. Ally sure is you bff goals.

"Aw come on, you gonna cry on me?" I said with a mock, trying to lighten up the mood.

"Oh you are not that lucky yet, baby doll" Ally smirked when I scowled at that name. Hearing it from a guy is cute, but when a girl tells so, Especially your best friend, I wonder if she is insane or no.  

" Gross" I mutter under my breath and heard Ally chuckle. This senior year, I sure am lucky.

Finally we finished with our study session. It was fun and tiring at the same time.

I went to leave the guys by the door when Ally suddenly pulled me by my elbow.

"I know you have a crush on the Asian sweetheart, and I wholeheartedly support you. Just tell me if you need help" Ally winked. All I could think of is, How?

Ally seemed to get my question. She just smirked and said" Oh it written all over your face sweetheart. Any body can get it" She took a dramatic pause and then whispered," Any body. But him." She winked again and left when Zach called for he.

I walked towards the door still a bit in daze when I noticed that only Kou was standing there. I was a bit confused.

"What's wrong? You forgot something?" I asked. Kou turned and faced me.

"No, I just wanted to tell you something" He said, as he took steps towards me. I had a feeling it is about our talk in the kitchen. But I can't help but blush slightly at how close he is to me.

" Go on" was all I could muster.

Then he suddenly took hold of the nape of my neck. He pulled me towards him and all i could think is,'he is gonna kiss me!' I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to meet mine, but I felt a warm breath against my ear.

"Anata ga kirei ni mieru toki ni anata wa sekimen shimasu(you look cute when you blush)"

My eyes widened in shock. Did he just compliment me? 

 Kou kissed the area under my earlobe and left saying a small 'goodbye' over his shoulder.

But he did no know he made a bigger mess of my heart. Darn him, Now I love him more....
