Chapter 6

AJ

Nate was jumping up and down excitedly when we reached the water-park. The place was already full with people and I lined up to get the tickets for us. It took me twenty minutes to get those tickets as the place was packed with people.

"Here are our tickets," I waved the tickets in front of Nate making him excited. We immediately went in, changed and keep our thing into a locker. Nate can't keep his excitement and he ran towards the pool. Alex immediately ran after him.

"Is he here?" whispered Rika as we looked at Alex trying to keep up with Nate.

"He said he'll be here," I said to her, "But with so many people it's difficult to look to him."

"He's bringing his niece and nephew right?" she asked and I nodded, "Maybe they are at the children's pool?

"Yeah, you probably right," I nodded my head again; "Let's go there."

"Are you sure you're doing the right thing?" she asked. "Don't you think it's too early to let him see Nate. You should a least let him see Alex first."

"That's exactly what I have in mind. I want him to see Alex. I don't want him to see Nate yet," I told her my plan. "From there, we could see how he actually felt towards Alex."

"So what are we going to do with Nate," asked Rika, "Hide him?"

"Yeah for time being," I nodded. "Once we found him, I'll take Nate somewhere else while you bring Alex," I suggested.

"Hmm, alright," agreed Rika. "Now let's find him first." I smiled at my girl. She's very easy to discuss about things. That's why I love her.

I know that my sister told me that she needs to be ready before meeting Syke but I think that she shouldn't wait any longer. She should see him and they should talk about things. Maybe she won't tell him about Nate yet, but eventually she has to tell him about it. It's only fair. I know my sister could be stubborn at time but when she's not given a chance, she will have to follow our lead.

I know Syke has a feeling that he's the reason why Alex left and I sometimes wanted say "YES" to him but I don't want him held that guilt feeling forever.

"There he is," pointed Rika at Syke who as playing with his niece and nephew at the children pool.

"Right," I nodded my head, "Now is to get him over to Alex."

"But Alex with Nate right now," Rika reminded me.

"Oh right," I just remembered, "We tell him to come over and then I'll take Nate somewhere," I said to her.

She nodded her head in agreement with me and we walked towards Skye, "Hey, Skye." I called him and he immediately looked at me. He looked behind me and saw Rika. I could see he looked disappointed that it was not Alex.

"Hey man," he said as he walked towards me and shook my hand. "Hey, Rika," he greeted her and kissed her cheek.

"Hey kids," I and Rika waved at the twins who were busy playing in the pool. I realized that Skye eyes were wondering around as if looking for somebody.

"She's on the other side of the park," I informed him knowing very well who he's looking for pointing at the place where Alex and Nate were. "Why don't you pretend to go over there with the twins?" I suggested.

He smiled, "Ok, be there in 10 minutes."

"I won't be around but Rika will be there with her, ok," I told him.

"No problem," he nodded as we walked away from him. We walked over to where Alex and Nate where playing which is near the slides.

"Come on Champ," I carried Nate on my back, "we're going for a ride," I told him and he waved bye to his mother and Rika. "See you guys later," I told him winking at Rika at the same time.

SKYE

I walked to the other side of the water park which AJ just informed me. As soon as I arrived there, I saw Rika talking to someone. When Rika moved and sat on the bench, then only I saw it was Alex. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, more beautiful than I've remembered. She's wearing a bikini and even though she's seating down I could see the beautiful curve of her body. How I wished I could just go over and hugged her tightly telling her how much I've missed her.

I finally remember the twins when they suddenly dash to the pool making me chased after them, if anything happen to them my sister will kill me.

"Guys, be careful," I yelled but I'm too late when Josh suddenly falls right in front to Alex and he immediately let out a loud cry. I dashed towards him but Alex already on her feet attending to Josh.

"Are you ok?" I heard her asking his nicely.

"I told you to be careful," I said as I approached Josh looking at his bleeding right knee while he continued crying. I could see Alex looking at me with shock. She's really surprised to see me.

"I'm sorry Uncle Skye," he cried.

I hugged him, "Its ok. Let me look at it," I looked at knee, "It's just a small bruise. Let me wipes the blood away. Don't cry. You're a man," I soothed him. Before I could wet my towel with the water, Alex already handed me a tissue for me to use. I smiled, "Thanks," I thank her as I took it and wiped the blood from the swollen knee. "There, it's all clean," I said to Josh. Alex then handed me a plastic bandage with picture of cartoons on it. I smiled as I took it from her and placed it on Josh bruise.

"There, everything ok, now," Josh smiled and immediately dash into the water with his sister. "Be careful," I yelled at them. "Don't ever get out from my sight, ok. I'll be right here." They both nodded their heads and started to play with the slides and the fountain.

I smiled at them and turned my attention towards Alex, "Thanks," I said to her while Rika just smiled sweetly at me.

"It's nothing," responded Alex. I could feel that she was nervous seeing me again.

"What a way to meet again, huh?" I teased her.

She smiled nervously at me, "Yeah," nodding her vigorously. Yep, she obviously is nervous.

"I didn't expect to see you here," I said to her.

"Yeah me too," she grinned. "What a coincidence," she said and looked at Rika as if she knew that both Rika and AJ set her up.

I think Rika could feel it too because she immediately got up, "I think I'm going to look for AJ," she said and walked away before Alex could say anything. Alex bit her lips as she watched Rika walking away. It looks like she wanted to do the same thing; getting away from me.

"How are you?" I asked her bringing her attention to me.

Still nervous, she responded, "I'm fine. How about you?"

I sat on the bench and put my things beside me, "I'm fine. When are you back?"

"Last Thursday," she replied.

"You're home for AJ's wedding?" I asked again.

She nodded her head and sat on bench next to mine, "Who are those two?" she asked me nudging her head towards the twins.

"Nessa's twins," I informed her. She knew my sister, Nessa.

"Oh," she just remembered, "They were just babies when I saw them last time."

"Well what do you expect? It has been three years since you gone," I reminded her. She bit her lips, maybe not knowing what to say to me.

"Where have you been hiding?" I asked her pretending I don't know.

She didn't look at me when she replied, "I've stayed with my Grandma in London."

"Do you know that AJ and I have been hunting for high and low for you? We look at every place that we thought your might go but never crossed our mind that you will go to London," I told her. "I thought you weren't close with your Grandmother because you and AJ never really talked about her."

"Yeah, we were not that close," she admitted, "But that's the first place that crossed my mind when I thought about getting away. Maybe because I know nobody will look for me there."

I could help myself but asked, "Why do leave? Is it because what happened between us?" She remained silence and looked as if she's going to cry.

"I'm sorry," I apologized to her, "I can't help wondering. Is it because of me? Is it because what happened between us? If it really is, I really am sorry."

"I....... "she hesitated and before she could answer, both Jen and Josh were out of the pool and standing besides me. Talk about wrong timing.

"Uncle Skye, we're hungry," complained Jen and Josh nodded his head agreed with his sister.

"In a second, guys," I told them as I still wanted to hear Alex answer.

"Hey, are you the lady in Uncle Skye's wal......." I covered Jen mouth before she could continue. I don't her telling Alex that her picture is in my wallet. I want to convince her about my feelings before she know that I'm been keeping her photo in my wallet.

"Yeah, you're the lady....." added Josh and I covered his mouth too.

"You guys hungry right?" I asked them and gathered my things, "Let's get something to eat," and then cast and apology look at Alex, "You know kids, they always talk nonsense. I better get them something to eat before they start to mumble something nonsense again."

Alex nodded her head and smiled at the twins. They both waved her goodbye with my hand still on their mouth. I smiled and turned to walk away but then I turned around facing Alex again, "Will you go out with me tonight?" I asked her and she looked stunned with my question. I cast her puppy eyes look, "Please say yes," I said to her. "Let's go out as old friends. I promised, I won't ask you any questions about you're leaving. I just want to catch up about you. Please."

She hesitated at the moment but then she cast a sweet smile and nodded her head, "Alright but promised no questions?"

I smiled, "Promised," and nodded my head, "I'll pick you up at 8.00?" She smiled and nodded and I couldn't help and smiled back at her. "Bye, see you later."

"Bye," I heard she said as I walked with the twins towards the restaurants.

"That's her right," asked Jen after I let go of my hand. I nodded my head.

"Are you going to tell her you like her, tonight," Josh asked.

"Maybe," I said to him, "Now, let's get something to eat. I'm hungry too." I could help myself but continued smiling. I really look forward to tonight.
