Chapter One: Metermaid
Diane placed her airpods in her ear and puts her hoodie on her head, watching the world go in a fast pace in front of her, she played her favorite song called "Queen" written by Loren Gray.
She nodded her head to the beat and looked out of the window, Diane looked in amazement as she watched the camels run off in their flocks in the sand, she smiled and watched this was the same amazed look on her face.
"Cross my heart and hope to die
I don't need another guy
To fight my battles
To overshadow me"
The train drove threw tunnel and they arrived at the ice glaciers, it looked so cool compared to in the Police Academy. Diane stuffed her face in the mirror as the song continued playing and she looked beyond the distance still amazed.
"Don't you know I'm dangerous?
Fire burning in my blood
I got this handled
I don't need rescuing"
Diane ran towards the front of the train to where she seen the rain droplets covering the train, they were so big and wet, the jungle consisted of predators where they all lived peacefully, she looked down and seen two tiger cubs playing together, Diane smiled and watched the little ones play.
"You can call me a princess all your life
'Cause you love to keep me helpless by your side
But it ain't what I want, I'ma show you
I'ma show you"
After the trip through the jungle, the train soon arrived at Los Angeles, it was beautiful, the sun and the tall buildings, it reminded Diane of her hometown somewhat but she shook the thought out of her head almost instantly and continued looking at the big blue sky and everything about this city.
"How to treat me like a queen
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Boy, you better bow down on your knees
Can I get a yes, your majesty?
So treat me like a queen
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Boy, you better bow down on your knees
Can I get a yes, your majesty?"
Once the train ride was over, Diane grabbed her suitcase and ran out of the train doors, she look in aw as she seen all the different species of animals, from elephants, hamsters, giraffes, etc. Diane smiled and made her way through the crowd.
"Eyes on me like I'm a prize
But you better recognise
I'm not your angel
'Cause I belong to me"
Diane eventually found an apartment nearby the police station, the landlord gave her the key and didn't bother sticking around for small talk and went to accomendate other tenants. She sighed softly and and closed the door, locking it when she closed it. The music still softly blasting through her airpods and into Diane's ears.
"You can call me a princess all your life
'Cause you love to keep me helpless by your side
But it ain't what I want, I'ma show you
I'ma show you"
Diane flopped on the bed, cuddling her sweater while she was laying on the bed, this sweater was a gift from her parents when she was nine and has been wearing it ever since. She was never seen without wearing her signature sweater.
"How to treat me like a queen
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Boy, you better bow down on your knees
Can I get a yes, your majesty?
So treat me like a queen
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Boy, you better bow down on your knees
Can I get a yes, your majesty?"
The song ended as Diane unplugged her airpods from her wear and placed them on the desk drawer right next to her bed. She closed her eyelids shut hoping to get some shut eye after the intense but entertaining trip to Los Angeles.

First day on the force, Diane woke up dazed but excited, she got up from bed and took a warm shower before getting dressed up in her police uniform, but she carried her sweater in her bag. Diane looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.
She looked at the drawer and noticed the fox repellent there, she debated on taking it or not but then snatched it up and placed it in her pocket. Diane runs out of the apartment building and makes her way to the police station.
Diane walks up towards the desk, since the desk was so much taller her, she had to speak loudly. "Excuse me? Officer Diane here!" She says with a smile, a big cheetah by the name of Benjamin Clawhauser looked down upon Diane and squealed.
"Oh my goodness, you're even more cuter than I'd thought you'd be!" Benjamin yelled still squealing, Diane blushed since no one ever called her cute before.
"Uhm thank you, can you direct me to the rollcall?" Diane asked, holding the strap of her bag over her shoulder. Benjamin smiled.
"Oh yeah, just down to the left." Benjamin says, Diane thanked him and ran off towards the rollcall room, once Diane got there, there was all sorts of animals. Elephants, tigers, bears, etc.
Diane looked around and found an empty seat next to a Rhino, she sat down but only her ears were showing, but Diane didn't mind. Just then a hippo walked in front of all the animals.
"Can I get a ten hut?" Diane raised an eyebrow but all the animals began making loud noises which hurt Diane's ears like a lot, just then the chief named Bogo walked into the room and all the noises stopped.
"First of all, I would like to take a moment to wish a happy birthday to the elephant in the room." Cheif Bogo says before clearing his throat and switching his voice to a serious tone.
"There are fourteen missing mammal cases, the mayor is at my tail about these cases, we have to act fast," Bogo explains and begins assigning each predator a case until Diane was the last one in the room.
"And you Diane," He began, Diane felt her ears twitch in excitement and waited eagerly to be assigned to a case.
"Parking duty." Bogo says bluntly, Diane's excitement was wiped off of her face as she titled her head like a confused puppy, just when Bogo was about to leave, Diane ran after him.
"Sir!" Diane calls out, Bogo turns around, straightening out his glasses and looked down at Diane with a raised brow.
"There are fourteen missing mammal cases," Diane says making Bogo scoff.
"So?" He asked with his eyebrow still raised.
"So, I can handle one of them, I think you forgot but I was top of my class at the police academy." Diane added with a smile, Bogo rolled his eyes.
"Didn't forget, just don't care." Bogo corrects and walks out of the room, leaving Diane standing there annoyed and angry but if she wanted to prove to her boss she was worthy, she'd have to write a lot of tickets.
Diane got her own mini car to give the tickets and she made her way around Los Angeles, giving tickets to invaders of the law, by the end she managed to give 200 tickets by noon. Along with her own car which counted 201 tickets.
Just then, her gaze turned to a wolf who looked odd... and very suspicious, Diane kept her gaze on him and her eyes followed him as he entered a local ice cream shop. Diane followed him inside and stared at his posture.
"Look I told you, I ain't serving no predator." The ice cream seller says annoyed looking down at the wolf, Diane perched her ears up and easedropped on the conversation.
"Why? We're all equal, what you think I'm gonna... EAT YOU?" The wolf says flashing his vicious teeth, Diane flinched but then walked up to the counter alongside the wolf.
"I don't think you understand, there's a sign that says NO PREDATORS!" The seller yells annoyed and didn't once notice Diane standing there.
"Excuse me, would your customers like to know that your workers are serving snot in their icecream?" Diane says with a smirk on her face, the seller stands there shocked, the wolf turns to her and kisses her hand.
"The names Wolf, Mr.Wolf, and you?" He asked, Diane blushed hard and pulled away her hand still blushing, the blush covered her whole face.
"D-Diane..." She stuttered out still blushing, Wolf laughs and looks back up at the ice cream seller with a small smile. He rolled his eyes and looked down at Wolf.
"What would you like?" The seller asks, Wolf looks at the ice cream put then points at a jumbo pop.
"One jumbo pop." Wolf says with a small smile.
"Twelve dollars." The seller replies, Wolf smiles and digs in his pocket for his wallet, he groans and turns to look at Diane.
"Ah, I forgot my wallet.. that always happens.." Wolf explains, Diane felt pity upon him so she pays the twelve dollars out of cash with her own money.
"Keep the change." Diane says, the seller grabs a jumbo pop with his trunk and hands it to Wolf, he thanked the seller and walked off with Diane following him.
"Thank you for what you did back there, can I pay you back?" Wolf asks, holding his jumbo pop in hand while walking side by side with Diane.
"Nah, it's on the house, well it was nice to meet you Mr.Wolf!" Diane says, waving goodbye and running off, Wolf watched her as she ran off and chuckled softly to himself.
"Cute metermaid." He mumbled still chuckling to himself and walked off.

It was the evening and Diane was writing more tickets, when she sees Mr.Wolf, she was about to go up to talk to him but sees him and other guy melting the jumbo pop on the roof, letting the droplets drop in large jars. After this, the two get into a car and drive off together.
Diane follows them and Wolf drives towards Tundratown, and sees them making popsicles with the melted jumbo pop and selling it, later, they go to the Savanna where they sell the mini pops to hamsters, who after eating the pop throw the sticks away.
Then, the snake takes the sticks and they head over to a construction site where they give the sticks to a worker.
"What's up with the red?" the worker asks with a raised eyebrow, Mr.Wolf grinned and straightened up his suit.
"It's red wood," He replied, Diane glared and hated herself for trusting a literal stranger she just met in an ice cream shop. After the sale, snake and Mr.Wolf part ways and Diane goes to confront him.
"You liar!" Diane yells walking besides Wolf, he smirks and looks down at her.
"Liar? What would make you think that?" Wolf asked, Diane growled and glared at him.
"You-You scammed that construction worker!" Diane replies, Wolf walks up faster trying to loose Diane in the crowd of people on the sidewalk, but she somehow manages to keep up with him despite the crowd.
"It was red wood, the wood was red." Wolf explained, licking his teeth while walking along side Diane.
"You're under arrest!" Diane says, Wolf laughs and stops walking to turn around and look at Diane with a raised brow.
"For what?" He asked still with her eyebrow, Diane paused before speaking again.
"For... illegal business practices!" Diane replies, Wolf shows her the paper work and the legal documents for his business.
"Nuh uh foxy, I'm completely legal." Wolf says, and continues walking, Diane was stumped but ran after him still stumped after getting owned by a con-artist.
"Well I can arrest you for scamming the construction worker." Diane was persistent and wasn't about to give up on getting her first arrest on her first day ever on the force.
"It's not scamming if they don't know, you come from Bunnyburrow right, let me explain it to you this way," Wolf pauses before continuing, "Tell me if this sounds familiar, a fox with big dreams thinks she can be a cop so she decides to bring herself to Los Angeles, the place where predators and prey live happily. Well news flash not all of us get along, and this is not some magical place, fox is depressed and moves back to become a rabbit furring fox. Hm? Sound familiar?" Wolf asks sarcastically, and pats Diane's head and continues walking off.
She watched he walked off, not following him anymore, she felt tears form and just stood there for a while, processing what Wolf just said. A tear drop fell from her cheek and onto the cement, Diane sighs sadly and walks on home thinking about what Wolf said to her.
When Diane got home, she flopped onto the bed and tears just flew down her cheeks and she huddled herself in a ball while whimpering softly.
"Tell me if this sounds familiar, a fox with big dreams thinks she can be a cop so she decides to bring herself to Los Angeles, the place where predators and prey live happily. Well news flash not all of us get along, and this is not some magical place where all your dreams come true, fox is depressed and moves back to become a rabbit furring fox. Hm? Sound familiar?" The words replayed in Diane's head and she cried bitterly until she went to sleep.
