2- Playtime and Naptime
Y'all, I don't know why this chapter took me all day to write when it's short as fuck. 😭
Btw! "H/c" is "hair color," if that wasn't obvious, lol.
Anyways!
HAPPY 9TH ANNIVERSARY, FNAF!
-------------------------------------------------
You and Isaiah stayed together for a good few minutes, you eagerly bouncing on the balls of your feet as you anxiously awaited Sun's return, while Isaiah was impatiently tapping his foot onto the cushion floor.
"I'm baaaack!" Sun's cheery voice said in a singsong voice, the sunny animatronic carrying a brand-new uniform for Isaiah as he skipped over.
"Finally," Isaiah sighed in relief, taking the uniform. "I'll be back in a bit."
"Fare thee well, my friend!" Sun called as Isaiah walked off. He then turned to you, smiling wide. "Come along, Y/N. Let's introduce you to everyone else!"
You shifted nervously, looking at Sun with uncertainty. "Do… do you really think that they'll like me?"
"Oh, Y/N, I'm sure that they'll love you," Sun reassured, kneeling down and running his fingers through your h/c hair. "But, if you're not ready to meet anyone yet, then I completely understand, superstar. Promise."
You smiled up at Sun, appreciating his thoughtfulness. After thinking very hard about it, you took a deep breath. "I wanna meet them."
Sun's eyes softened. "Are you sure?"
You nodded. "Uh-huh."
Sun smiled softly, then he picked you up. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he climbed out of the ball pit, your grip slightly tightening as he approached the climbing structures.
You felt nervous, but you could tell that Sun was confident, skipping over to the structures, and then he called out.
"Kids! We have a new friend!"
You could tell that a few of the kids heard him. Their eyes widened and they began climbing out of the structures, while the other kids continued playing, most likely too wrapped up in their playtime.
Soon enough, the kids that did heed Sun's call were gathered around in a small circle, all looking at you curiously, murmuring to themselves.
"This is Y/N," Sun introduced, smiling at you softly. He then nodded, encouraging you to speak.
"Hello," you said shyly, feeling a bit nervous about how they'd all react. But, the other kids only smiled at you.
"Hi, Y/N!"
"Hi!"
"I like your shirt!"
"Hello!"
You smiled at all of the warm greetings, and Sun beamed.
"See?" he whispered to you. "I knew you'd be welcomed here!"
You smiled wider and giggled, nodding.
Then, Sun gently set you down, clasping his hands together and smiling wide.
"Now," he said. "Since Y/N is new to the Superstar Daycare, I think it's only fair that we allow them to choose what activity we can do first!"
You instantly felt intimidated, and grabbed Sun's hand, gently tugging at his bells.
Sun knelt down to you, and then you whispered, "Can we draw?"
Sun smiled and stood up, looking at the other kids. "How do we feel about drawing?"
The kids' faces lit up; and you couldn't help but smile as everyone cheered.
"Okalie dokalie!" Sun cheered, clapping his hands. "I'll go get the supplies!"
☆☆☆☆☆☆
You spent almost the entire day at the Daycare, and it was probably the most fun you've ever had. Most of the kids were very nice to you, and Sun was there to make sure that you were having fun.
First, you and the other kids did some arts and crafts, and then Sun put on a little puppet show; soon after, everyone got to make gooey statues with clay, and even got to put googly eyes on them!
Snack time soon rolled around, and you noticed that some of the kids were looking pretty tired as they ate. Sun noticed this, too, and his eyes softened.
When snack time was over, Sun yawned, stretching his arms.
"My, my," he continued to yawn. "I think it's about time we all hit the hay, yes?"
Some of the kids groaned, but you only smiled, realizing that Moon was about to come out.
Sun chuckled, and then he headed over to a light switch, beginning to sing softly.
"Naptime, naptime… all our crafts and treats have been shared… naptime, naptime, he'll close your eyes with tender care… play clay is put away… put away the crafts and glues, we've had our crafts and laughs, but don't feel blue… come morning light I'll shine my sunny hue."
Sun's voice was so sweet and tender… it even made you feel a little sleepy. The song worked on the other kids, too, all of them yawning and rubbing their eyes.
Sun smiled softly. "Goodnight, my sweet superstars," he whispered before flipping the switch.
The room was engulfed in darkness, and Moon came out, his blue eyes glowing. He looked around, noticing all of the sleepy children. He chuckled softly, standing up and walking over to you all.
"Are all of my stars good and sleepy?" he cooed, kneeling down.
Some of the kids tried to protest, shaking their heads and saying 'no.' Even you tried, but it was clear that Moon wasn't buying it.
"Lying is naughty, my silly geese," Moon chuckled, looking amused. He then scooped a couple of kids into his arms, and then he reached for your hand. "Come, my dear children. Let's go grab our cots and have a nice little nap."
"Are you gonna have a nap, too, Moon?" you whispered, too tired to protest as you and a few of the kids followed him.
Moon hummed, shrugging a little. "Maybe later."
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. Doesn't he need a nap, too?
You and the other kids helped Moon clean up the messes you all made throughout the day, and then he grabbed everyone each a cot of their own to sleep in. A couple of the kids whined in protest, wanting to keep playing, but Moon remained firm, not budging.
"There we go," he said, finally tucking you in as you climbed into your cot, snuggling with the space themed blanket he draped over you. "Comfy?"
You nodded, but then held his hand. He looked mildly surprised, looking at you with questioning eyes.
"How come you don't get to sleep, Moon?" you asked in a whisper.
Moon looked surprised by the question, but then he smiled warmly. "Because I have to watch over you and the other children, Y/N. I must keep you safe."
"But…" you frowned, tilting your head. "Doesn't it get lonely?"
Moon's blue eyes widened at the question, and he was silent for a moment. But, the gentle smile returned, and he stroked your cheek.
"It's sweet of you to be concerned, Y/N, but, really, I am fine," he told you. However, you noticed something in his eyes. Something had changed, and you couldn't help but feel like Moon was telling a fib.
"Can you stay with me?" you asked, hoping that he'd stay so he didn't have to be by himself.
Moon hummed. "Only until you fall asleep."
"Then, I'll stay up," you told him, feeling determined. "Don't want you to be lonely."
Moon chuckled softly, smiling at your determination. "We shall see."
After about only fifteen minutes, you were fast asleep.
Moon watched you for a long moment. For some reason, your words echoed in his head.
Doesn't it get lonely?
However, he shook his head, and then the cable hooked onto his back. He slowly floated into the air, watching over the children.
Sun was asleep, he could tell… but he didn't mind. This was his time with the children, anyway.
At least he got to talk to them before they fell asleep this time.
