Luciano's Pov: 

I was woken up by the loudest snoring I had ever heard. I kicked my leg out, signaling her to shut it because I couldn't sleep. She shifted around in the bed next to me and fell silent again. The reality was that I was trying to sleep, but I couldn't. I don't why, but I had this impending feeling of doom while I laid there in bed.

Mimi (Since she gave me a dumb nickname, I gave her one) and I usually slept over at each other's houses after Friday night dinners. Since we were a part of a bigger friend group we didn;t have much one on one time. So she declared these sleepovers at the end of 7th grade. 4 years later and she never learned how to snore quieter.

In the darkness of her room my mind started to wander. We were starting 11th grade on Monday and for some reason I was scared that she would find other friends. Let's be honest here, the only reason why I have the friends I have is because of her. I am typically quiet and so on the first day of high school she made it her mission to find the both of us a friend group. It ended up working out, but with her outgoing personality I am always scared she will find new friends.

I noticed that I started to sit so I pulled the covers off me and shed the hoodie I was wearing. For some reason this just made me feel worse. I rolled out of her bed and. walked into the kitchen to get some water. It was 4 am and the whole house was asleep. I walked over to the full sink and filled up a glass. The cold water felt good on my burning up body so I chugged it down. After I finished three more glasses I washed it and put it back, but I wasn't ready to go back up to bed. I decided to take a seat on the couch. At that moment I noticed that there was an envelope on the coffee table. It felt wrong, but I picked it up and noticed that it was already cut open.

I pulled the letter out and opened it. I smiled when I saw that it was. It was a contract that Mimi had made me sign in the second grade stating that we would be friends forever. It brought me the sense of peace I was looking for. I instantly felt better. So I hauled my butt back up to bed, but this time I fell asleep a lot easier than before.
