>Chapter Seven< Isaac
I opened my eyes in a white room...or at least that's what it looked like. After a moment, after my eyes had focused, I realized that there was a white curtain around me.
Then I realized I was laying down in a hospital bed.
I completely freaked out. I had no idea why I was laying here. I couldn't remember anything up to taking Cecilia into the hall and being told she had cancer.
Out of sheer terror, I sat up fast enough to give myself whiplash. Then I yelled.
My back exploded in pain. At the same time, every thought and memory that I couldn't think of bombarded me, attacking my head and begging to be heard first.
Someone must have heard me yell. The curtains were yanked open and two people ran in, each of them wearing green masks over their mouths.
"Someone's awake!" The one on my left said, his voice slightly muffled by his mask.
I stared at him, not sure how to react. To be honest, I wasn't really paying attention to him. I was trying to form my troubled thoughts into a line and have them slap me across the face one at a time, considering the fact that they were so shocking.
The doctor on my left gently laid a hand on my shoulder and pushed me down. I didn't bother reacting.
"Honey, are you okay?" The doctor on my right asked. This one was a girl. She had long blonde hair tied back in a ponytail.
Still, I didn't respond. My breathing spread up a little more though. I was starting to remember the gunshots. I was hearing them. They were still ringing in my ears.
And I remembered Cecilia dragging me into the girls' bathroom.
But I didn't remember anything after that. Just a whole lot of pain and hell.
"Son? Son are you alright?" The male doctor asked me. I turned my gaze on him. "Where's Cecilia?"
The doctor took a step away from me, as if I'd scared him by talking. He blinked at me and pulled his mask away from his mouth.
"Where is she?" I repeated, my voice shaking.
"Isaac..." The female doctor approached me slowly and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. I shook her off and sat up, ignoring the pain in my back.
I used my most dangerous voice and spoke again. "I'll ask one more time. Where is Cecilia?"
The male doctor blinked again.
"She's in the ICU." He told me.
"What the hell does that mean?" I snapped. "Intensive Care Unit." The female doctor said.
"Why?" I whispered.
"Isaac...she got shot twice."
