Midnight Drive (Scotland x Reader)
Thank you for reading and I'm going to apologize in advance for the accent. Enjoy!

You were a relatively nice young lady with few problems, they seemed almost nonexistent. Well, except one. Your Boyfriend. Ex-Boyfriend.
The slamming of the pub doors pierced your heart with its thunderous thwack. You stood there awestruck. Tears threatened to spill down your cheeks, but you managed to restrain them.
It was over. He was gone. Your idiot of a boyfriend just walked out those doors with no a sign of remorse. You had no idea of what to do, so you turned to the only obvious solution in a pub.
You trudged over to the bar and plopped your self down on a stool with a sigh. The bar tender paced over to you.
"What will it be, young lady?" He asked.
"The strongest whiskey you have."
His eyes furrowed in a look of worry.
"Can you handle it, miss?"
You let out another forlorn sigh.
"Will it erase this night from my memory?"
"It'll remove the whole week!" The bar tender warned.
"Good. Leave the bottle."
The bartender gave you one last sympathetic look, and hurried off to attend to the patron a few seats you.
The mysterious man near you pointed towards you with a gesture of his thumb. They spoke for a while before the bartender gave a nod of assent, and rushed to fulfill the request.
You examined the man a little closer. He boasted dark red hair and complementing emerald eyes, that shone while still maintaining a bored undertone. His skin was so pale, its pallor was almost translucent, with little freckles sprinkled over it. He wore a blue uniform with a white cross stitched over his wide chest.
He noticed you staring at him out of the corner of his eye, and let a tiny smile shine through his disinterested aura.
You swallowed a bit of the whiskey, laid your head on the bar top and closed your eyes, doing your best to blot this night from your memory. The tingling burn in the back of your throat helped to numb your pain. You took another gulp.
The bar tender tapped your shoulder. He handed you a box of tissues.
"Complements of the gentleman beside you. He requested I give you this, since you had already , how did he say it? 'Almost emptied the bar'."
You glared at the red head a stool away from you. He winked and gave you a cheeky grin.
You rolled your eyes, causing his grin to lessen. He traded his seat for the one directly adjacent to yours.
"What's a pretty lass like you doin' in this old place?" He asked in a thick Scottish accent.
I wonder if I play dead, he'll go away...
"I just got dumped by my boyfriend." You mumbled, shifting your gaze to his deep emerald eyes.
Maybe it was the alcohol, but you felt like you could trust him.
He told you his name, Allistor Kirkland, and you returned the favor. You told him the story behind the break up and how your boyfriend had left you for someone else.
The man took a sip from his glass. You did the same.
"Jackass. Didn't know what he had. Do you have a ride?"
"I used to..."
You glanced down at the wooden bar top. Your tears reemerged and pattered on the dirty wood.
His deep emerald eyes scanned your face, pure concern glinting in them.
"Come now, lass. I'll take ye home."
"I barely even know you! I'm not that drunk!"
You straightened yourself as best you could. Your sluggish reaction time made it an exceedingly difficult process. You did your best to rise from the stool. As soon as your feet reached the floor, your legs became jelly. You wobbled and shook like a twig in a hurricane.
Allistor caught your arm and supported you. He raised one of his unusually thick eye brows and his grin reclaimed its place on his pale features.
"Ye were sayin'?"
"..."
"I'll fetch me keys."
He shuffled around his blue jacket's pocket for a while, before his hand resurfaced with a pair of keys grasped firmly between his fingers.
You clung to Allistor's strong arm and stumbled out the doors.
Everything was coated in the black paint of night. A few splashes of stars glittered on
the sky's vast canvas. It was amazing, but you were more concerned with not falling on your face than the masterpiece of midnight.
The friendly man escorted you to his car. By escorted I mean, practically carry you the whole way to the parking lot.
The vehicle was a red and black muscle car. Everything was incredibly manly about the car, except for the unicorn spray-painted on the body. You did your best to conceal your laughter.
He popped open the door for you, and you slid into the shotgun seat with the grace of a tranquilized elephant.
Jumping into the drivers seat, he turned to face you, a smile plastered on his face.
"Where de ye live, lassie?"
"(Address)" You mumbled.
Your head was reeling from the potent whiskey. You didn't really care where you went, as long as it was far, far away from alcohol. You rested your head on the leather upholstery.
"You better not be a stalker." You added.
Allistor chuckled.
"What? Little ole me?"
With that, he drove out of the parking lot and onto the road.
You two conversed over random things like, (favorite music) or (hobby). He turned out to be a very intriguing person. He loved the bagpipes, kilts, haggis, and generally anything Scottish.
The ride was surprisingly long. Much longer than it should have taken to reach your house.
You peered out the window, only to watch dense woods flash by. This wouldn't have been alarming. Except, you lived no where near the woods.
"Where are we going, Allistor?"
Allistor pretended not to hear the inquiry. After a short, and slightly awkward, silence he replied.
"I need to make a quick stop."
You squinted at his profile. The darkness hid most of his face, but you could clearly make out a smirk tugging at his lips.
You sunk back into the leather seat. You had no idea why you haven't bailed on this guy.
Must have been his cute accent...
No! I can't be thinking things like that this soon.
You studied the red head next to you. He was carefully watching the road and must have had no idea your eyes were upon him.
You began noticing little details about him. His strong jawline, the way his amazing eyes sparkled like emeralds as they shifted over the road, how his uniform outlined his perfectly built body.
"Like what ye see?"
"What!?"
You faced your window to prevent him from spotting the rosy blush rising on your cheeks.
"Ye didn't think I couldn't see ye, did ye?"
Before the moment could get any weirder, Allistor parked the car, exited the car and came around the other side to help you out.
You clasped his arm, once more, and lifted yourself out of the car, even though you could handle yourself at this point.
He gently pulled out of your grip and settled himself on the hood of the car. He smirked and patted the spot beside him.
"Ye don't have to be shy."
You hopped up on the sleek metal surface and reclined your head on the wind shield with your hands behind it.
"What are we doing here?" You asked, inspecting your surroundings.
You two were positioned in the middle of a clearing, encircled by a ring of trees. Everything was serene and quiet, making it easier to focus on the twinkling stars, gleaming in the sky.
"This is where I go to hide from me brothers' arguing. I thought I could cheer you up. Besides, Uni was getting lonely." He responded, not removing his eyes from the sky.
"Uni?"
"Yes, lass! My unicorn of course!"
He said this so firmly, like it was obvious he had a unicorn.
This guy is insane!!!
Just when you were ready to make a run for it, an object nuzzled your side, causing you to release an adorable giggle. You glanced down to find... Nothing.
"See. Uni likes ye, lassie!"
A rough surface slid across your face, leaving an invisible track of slobber. You shivered from the unexpected unicorn encounter.
Allistor chuckled at the slobber coating the side of your face and handed you a handkerchief.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot ye can't see her."
Allistor placed his warm hand atop yours and guided your hand over to the transparent equine. You could feel the silky mane between your fingers. Allistor moved your hand, allowing you to stroke the mane.
The unicorn whinnied with satisfaction at your touch.
You realized how close to you Allistor was and blushed, causing Allistor to remove his hand. He turned away to avoid revealing his own rose-tinted face.
You struck up a conversation about his ability to see mythical creatures. Apparently, he was born with it.
You did your best to focus on the conversation at hand, but one thing kept gnawing at the back of your mind.
"Do you think I should talk to my boyfriend, I mean ex-boyfriend?"
Allistor sat up and griped both your shoulders tenderly.
"He's bloody rubbish! Ye deserve someone so much better! No one can break ye, if ye don't let them, especially not that arse! Don't ye ever forget that."
He rolled back onto his side and heaved a sigh.
"Speaking of arses..."
He vented about his brothers, mostly about the one named Arthur. You laid there soaking up every word.
Once Allistor finished his scone-horror story, you let out a little yawn.
"I should really be getting home now." You mumbled, trying to ignore the tempting calls of sleep.
Allistor glanced at his watch and relaxed his frown as he gazed off into the infinite sea of stars. He regretted the thought of ending this tranquil moment.
"Aye. If we talk anymore, the sun will come up."
You two softly smiled at each other, before seating yourselves in the car.
"Bye, Uni!" You called from the ajar window.
A blast of warm air wafted over you face. Before you knew it, a familiar unicorn was nuzzling the back of your neck tenderly. You received a sloppy lick from your new friend, then heard the clopping of hooves, as the unicorn galloped away.
Allistor turned the ignition and started the car with a fierce growl.
"Ready, lassie?"
"Yeah..."
You surveyed the magical area while a visible sadness tinged through your (e/c) eyes.
"Ye okay?" Allistor asked with furrowed brows.
"Yeah, fine."
Your smile was clearly forced, a fraud which Allistor didn't buy, but he hesitantly began driving.
You savored every second of the drive home, which felt fleeting compared to the exhaustive drive to get there. You chatted a bit more, but once the house you knew so dearly came into view, you became silent and let the gleam in you eyes and the grin on your face speak for you.
You pushed open the car door and stepped onto your beautifully paved driveway. You sped over to the ornate front door and giggled with glee.
Allistor glanced down with a disappointed softness in his gem-like eyes. He began to pull out of the driveway.
"Wait!" You exclaimed.
He halted with a surprised expression on his face. You jogged over to his window.
"A driver needs a tip doesn't he?"
"Ye don't need to pay me, lass."
"That's not what I had in mind."
Before he could ask what you meant, you leaned into the car and pecked him on the cheek. His face became so red, it complemented his hair. He was completely shocked by the sudden display of affection. He had so idea how to respond.
"Thanks, Allistor. We should do this again some time!"
"Aye..."
You smiled and waved at that amazing man. He grinned with his usual devilishness. When you looked at him you felt something you hadn't felt in a while, and surely not with your ex.
I think I found my solution to my boyfriend problem...
You walked inside your comfy home and shut the door.
