Two Boys and Past Stories
"Babe I'm bored."
"What do you want to do?"
"I don't know."
Eddy sighs laying his head on Ken's lap trying to get his attention from the book he was reading. Ken runs his fingers through Eddy's hair keeping his eyes on the page Eddy sighs louder putting the bookmark in place before taking it.
"Hey I was reading that."
"Pay attention to me please."
Eddy pouts leaning up to give him a small kiss Ken sighs cupping his cheeks.
"What am I going to do with you?"
"Love me and go on a adventure."
"Where too?"
"Lets just get a map and go."
"Alright go get ready."
Quickly getting up Eddy runs to their room to get dressed and pack a bag to take with them. Ken follows slowly after chuckling with a shake of his head at his excited boyfriend the two dress heading out to the car Eddy gripping the map with excitement.
"Lets flip a coin to decide which way we go."
"Heads left tails right."
Eddy flips the coin slapping it onto the back of his hand before looking at it.
"Tails let's go!"
Ken nods turning left as they head down the street their neighborhood getting smaller the farther they drive.
"Which next?"
"Take this turn up here please."
Eddy smiles pointing kissing Ken's cheek Eddy looks out the window watching as they pass houses heading from the city. Turning the radio to an oldies channel the two hum along to songs playing.
"Look at that field it's so green!"
Ken chuckles nodding his head as he glances at his boyfriend sitting excitedly in his seat. One of the things he loves about Eddy is his simple excitement over the smallest things.
"I love you."
"I love you too baby are you enjoying this?"
"Yes thank you so much this is great."
"I'm happy you're enjoying it."
Ken smile kissing his hand as they continue driving Eddy begins retelling stories from their pasts.
"Remember when you met my mother."
"She loved me."
"She couldn't get over how sweet you were and the flowers was a nice touch. She's a sucker for them I failed a big test once in school to keep her from freaking out to much I gave her a big arrangement of flowers."
"Did it work?"
"Kinda she was still a bit upset but I didn't get grounded so it was a plus."
"Well that's good listen to this when I was in about sixth grade I was dating this boy. He was a pain always slacking wanting to skip school so on so forth. I invited him over after school one day, it was only the fourth or fifth time he had been over. I don't know what his problem was but his attitude was pretty cocky, my mom said something to him and he replied by calling her a old bitch."
"Oh no."
"Before I could say something mom grab him by his ear dragging him and his bag to the front door shoving him onto the porch then told him we were done. When his mom called she explained what happened and he was made to come apologize."
"That's what he gets the little shit."
Eddy smiles motioning for Ken to pull of too the side so they can talk more.
"When I was in ninth I had this massive crush on this boy from the football team. I thought he was fantastic yeah well my mom wasn't his biggest fan, she knew there was something about him that wasn't any good. I heard her and my dad talking late at night about how worried she was, no matter how much he told her I would be okay I knew what I was doing she kept at it."
"Moms usually know when people are bad for their kids."
Ken says taking Eddy's hand in his rubbing his thumb over the skin.
"She was defiantly right he didn't want anything more then to make his ex girlfriend jealous. We started dating with the help of one of his friends poor guy had no idea what he was planning."
"He had a girlfriend?"
"He was bisexual thought he could have whoever he wanted whenever. My mom found out from one of the girls who's mom was in her dance class. They chatted do I guess a while my mom set up a dinner inviting him over. I was surprised of course but I invited him over. Little did we know she invited that girl, his girlfriend and other boyfriend."
"What a scumbag wow that's awful."
"Yeah he was surprised too they dumped water on him and mom accidentally spilled her pasta in his lap. It was great I thank her a lot after I got over the heartbreak. We pigged out on pizza and ice cream. Out of the few guys I've dated you're the only one she likes."
"What's not to love about me?"
Ken asks trying to cheer up the mood a little Eddy laughs as they drive for a while longer before heading back home. The rest of the night spent curled up in their bed whispering stories about their moms.
