After some time Jason and I decided to leave so we could fix my tire while it was still daylight. I called Raina to let her know I wasn't coming home tonight on our way back to my car.

ON PHONE....

☎ ME: Hey Rain

☎ Raina: Hey girly are you on your way home yet?

☎ ME: Nope, I'm not going to be coming home tonight, I am staying with a friend.

☎ Raina: Ohhh, okay sounds good, is everything okay?

☎ ME: Yep, My car got a flat tire on the way and Jason picked me up and took me to the reunion so I wouldn't be late, we are on our way now to get it fixed but then we are staying in his parent's lake house because it's getting late.

☎ Raina: Oh so Jason is there. Tell him I said hi, and don't have too much fun now Lee. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.

☎ ME: Yes Mother, see you tomorrow Rain, take care.

"My friend Raina says "hi," I said to Jason after hanging up with Raina.

He smiled "OK."

A few moments later we reached my car and Jason changed the tire for me even though I said I could do it myself. After the tire was changed he came to where I was sitting still in his truck.

"I'm finished." He said. "You can follow me if you'd like so you don't get lost on the way to the house."

"Sure, and Thank you, Jason. You didn't have to fix the tire you know." I answered graciously.

"Anytime Lee, and here are your keys." He said handing me my keys.

I smiled and went ahead and got in and started my car. Jason was already pulling onto the road so I proceeded to follow him.

I followed Jason for about ten minutes when we turned off on a narrow dirt road with a mailbox. I assumed it was the driveway to his parent's lake house. After another minute or so I came to a complete stop behind Jason's truck.

The sun was nearly set, and only the last few minutes of light were left as I got out of my car and grabbed my purse and phone.

I looked at the beautiful house it was a two-story house with a large front porch with a grill sitting on it.

"Nice isn't it?" Jason asked walking up behind me.

"It's a beautiful house," I commented turning around.

"Here follow me and I will show you to a guest room." He said gesturing for me to follow him and we walked into the house.

We walked up a staircase and to the end of the hallway passing a bathroom on the way.

"Here is your room, I will go get you a t-shirt of mine you can borrow to sleep in. There's a bathroom on the first door to your left outside this room and of course, you can let me know if you need anything else." He said.

"Thank you J, it means a lot," I said sitting down on the bed.

I looked around the room and the color scheme was blue and gray. The bedspread and sheets were a lovely royal blue shade and a light airy gray. There were pictures of Jason and his family on the wall.

"Here you go," Jason said handing me a white T-shirt, breaking into my thoughts.

"Thank you," I replied.

"Well, I am gonna hit the hay so if you need anything I'm just across the hall," he said.

"Ok sounds good, thanks again Jason, talk to you tomorrow" I answered.

I changed into the t-shirt that covered my thighs but not much more and crawled under the gray sheets and before you knew it I was asleep.

I woke up to a pitch-black ceiling and glanced at the alarm clock next to the bed on the nightstand that read 3:32. I tried to go back to sleep but it was no good. So I decided to take a look around the house.

I walked out of my room, walked into the kitchen, and grabbed a glass of water.

"What are you doing awake?" Jason scared me and I jumped.

"Oh my gosh Jason, you scared me half to death." I practically screamed, dropping the glass onto the tile floor.

"I'm sorry Lee, I didn't mean to scare you. I couldn't sleep so I was wondering if you were in the same boat and couldn't sleep" he responded casually. "Here let me clean that up," He said grabbing a dustpan and broom out of the pantry, cleaning up the mess I had made.

" It's okay just please never do it again" I answered. "I couldn't sleep and decided to take a look around, I hope you don't mind and I hope I didn't wake you up."

"You didn't wake me, I was having trouble sleeping anyways" he commented.

I then noticed all I was wearing was his t-shirt and he was only wearing his briefs. Not wanting this to be awkward I quickly said "Well I should probably go back to sleep."

"Yeah me too," Jason said wiping his forehead because I think he had just realized we weren't wearing much for clothes.

I went back to my room and thought for a minute. He was so sweet to clean up my broken glass. He had a sleepy voice and that was hot, with his messy hair and his muscular and shirtless body. 

"Ughhhhh Lee you can't be thinking this stuff," I scolded myself and fell asleep after some time of staring at the dark ceiling.

The next morning when I woke up, I discovered Jason was already awake in the kitchen drinking coffee. I'm glad to have changed back into the clothes I wore last night so I wasn't wearing just the shirt he had given me.

"Morning J," I said.

"Good morning! How'd you sleep?" He asked.

"I slept well, how did you sleep?" I replied looking for a coffee mug"I slept fine after our kitchen encounter. Mugs are in the cabinet next to the sink." He said noticing I was struggling to find one.

"Thanks." I nodded opening the cabinet and grabbing a cup out.I poured some coffee into my mug and sat down next to him.

"So are you seeing anyone special?" I asked, but as soon as I asked I realized how awkward it was and instantly regretted it.

"No, I'm not. What about you? Are you seeing anyone?" He responded.

"Nope, after Dad passed I never got back into the dating scene and I've only dated one person since we broke up," I answered wearily, "Lee, come on stop it, you're making him think you're a loser," I thought to myself.

"Lee, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when your dad passed, he truly was inspirational." He said sympathetically.

"J we were broken up and you were in law school, I couldn't have asked you to drop everything and come," I answered honestly.

" True, but we were still friends Annalee, we left things on good terms, we were young and dumb and I still want to be there for you." He answered.

I smiled and blushed a little. Then changed the conversation to our work.After a little while of talking about our jobs, I cleaned the mugs and put them back.I then went back to my room and grabbed the t-shirt he let me borrow. "Thanks for letting me borrow this," I said handing it back to him.

"Anytime, are you taking off?" He asked.

"Yep, I should get going because I told Rains that we'd go to the new Guardians Of The Galaxy movie this afternoon," I responded.

"Well, it was great to see you Lee, if you're ever in NYC let me know and we can grab a bite to eat" He answered, " You have my number."

"Yeah of course I will that sounds great, same goes for you if you're in town let me know." I smiled hugging him, he smelled great, and I didn't want to let go, I felt safe in his embrace. We hugged a little longer than we should have to make it a bit awkward when I let go.

I made sure to shut the door tight and walked carefully down the steps to my car.After I got into my car I started it up and turned my GPS on set to my apartment and headed toward there. It was about an hour and a half from Jason's parent's lake house.

I stopped in a small town and grabbed fast food for lunch. I had a cheeseburger and fries and I drank a small coke. After I finished eating I hopped back into my car and finished the drive before arriving back at my apartment early in the afternoon so Rains and I could go to the movie.
