Frisk's pov

I trudged slowly thought the snow, anxiety filling me up.

What if he hates me??

What if he kills me??

...Then I'll deserve it...

These thoughts continued to run through my head as I walked.

I stepped over a branch that was too heavy to pick up, I expected to hear the sound of it snapping as I took more steps, but all I could hear was the sound of my footsteps.

...Maybe he'll just avoid me... that's what I would do...who'd want to stay around me...

"Are you okay??" Chara asked. I just kept walking.

Soon I made it to the small bridge with bars to wide. Taking a shaky breath, I looked up to find Sans with a slight frown on his face. I thought I was going too faint as memories of the hall started rushing back.

...His flaming blue eye...his bones piercing me...how he laughed when I died...I deserved it...

"Sans I-"

"kid..."

I stood there in silence as Sans looked down, eye sockets darkening. A light breeze blew by rustling my already messy hair and making Sans' blue jacket sway.

"...come on"

He turned away and walked over the bridge and I followed. He stopped in front of a conveniently shaped lamp and looked at me.

"...well, go on" He said gesturing to the lamp.

"Oh sorry"

I ducked behind just before I head Papyrus' loud voice.

Papyrus, god how I've missed him, with his shouting and innocence. His cooking and smiles. I looked from behind the lamp and saw him posing dramatically with his scarf waving in the wind. Smiling, I looked over at Sans. He looked happy, like actually happy, it had been so long since I've seen him smile...and it's because of me...

I felt something wet fall on my hand, only then did I realise I was crying. Chara was right, I really am a cry baby.

Papyrus soon went off laughing, "NYEH HEH HEH", and Sans just teleported as soon as he was gone, I suppose he really was trying to avoid me.

I was more than thankful to reach a save point, Toriel's attacks really did hurt. Shivering, I began to start walking.

Going through snowdin forest didn't take that long. The puzzles were easy and the monsters were easier to befriend, and I loved being with all the cute dogs. It was almost peaceful walking though the white snow and huge trees. The interactions with Sans and Papyrus were my only worry.

Don't get me wrong, I love being with Papyrus, it's just that he's so innocent and nice, and I'm not. I killed him, but he doesn't even know. Instead he treats me so kindly, what if he found out? Would he even talk to me?

And then there's Sans. He'll be his normal self around Papyrus, smiling and making puns. But the moment his brother leaves, his eye sockets are hollow and he disappears. And as much as I know I deserve to be hated by him, it still hurts. Sans was such a great friend, but now, he can't stand being around me. What do I do??

I'm walking across the long rope bridge now, but stopped when I saw Sans and Papyrus at the end of it.

"HUMAN! THIS IS YOUR FINAL AND MOST DANGEROUS CHALLENGE! BEHOLD! THE GAUNTLET OF DEADLY TERROR!"

There was a spiky ball, two spears, a cannon, fire, and the annoying dog, surrounding the end of the bridge.

"WHEN I SAY THE WORD, IT WILL FULLY ACTIVATE!!! CANNONS WILL FIRE! SPIKES WILL SWING! BLADES WILL SLICE! EACH PART WILL SWING VIOLENTLY UP AND DOWN! ONLY THE TINIEST CHANCE OF VICTORY WILL REMAIN!!! ARE YOU READY! BECAUSE! I! AM! ABOUT! TO DO IT!"

Papyrus just stood there staring at me.

"well? what's the holdup?"

I could hear the anger in Sans' voice, he really did want me gone.

"HOLDUP!? WHAT HOLDUP!? I'M... I'M ABOUT TO ACTIVATE IT NOW!"

I could see the pain in his eyes, he really didn't want to hurt me...but I already hurt him...

"that, uh, doesn't look very activated"

"WELL!!! THIS CHALLENGE!!! IT SEEMS... MAYBE...TO EASY TO DEFEAT THE HUMAN WITH. YEAH WE CAN'T USE THIS ONE! I'M A SKELETON WITH STANDARDS!!! MY PUZZLES ARE VERY FAIR! AND MY TRAPS ARE EXPERTLY COOKED! BUT THIS METHOD IS TOO DIRECT! NO CLASS AT ALL! AWAY IT GOES!"

Everything just disappeared, god knows where.

"PHEW... WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!? THIS WAS ANOTHER DECISIVE VICTORY FOR PAPYRUS!! NYEH!! HEH!!...HEH???"

And with that he walked off with an unsure look on his face. And Sans just teleported like normal.

Sighing I began to make my way into Snowdin town. The whole place was so cute and reminded me of Christmas time. I bought some bisicles from the shop and talked to the bunny there for a little while. I always thought it was weird how she said the skeleton brothers "just showed up one day and... asserted themselves" What did she mean by that??

I stepped out of the shop and shivered. I wish I had more layers than my thin sweater. I looked over at the inn and yawned, I didn't get much sleep at Toriel's. I stepped inside the cosy inn and said hello the the bunny at the counter.

I slowly walked up the stairs to my room, slightly angry that this room cost me 80 gold. I reached the top of the stairs and went to the first room unlocking the door.

The room was small with a bed, bedside table with a book on it to the left, and a table to the right. It also had a rectangle rug with hearts on it at the door, a lamp over to the right, and a small window at the back of the room.

I collapsed on the bed and tried to get comfortable. I could hear snoring from the room next to me... it almost sounded... like a song...I know...

...I was in the golden hall... knife in my hand...I looked up to find Sans... with a flaming blue eye...I rushed towards him...I tried to stop myself... but I was being controlled...the knife slashed him... but not before I was hit with a Gaster blaster...I dropped to the ground...my control back...I turned around...Sans was bleeding..."No!"...I screamed... he looked at me with tears in his eyes...and turned to dust...

"NO!" I woke up yelling.

I got up shaking deciding that I'll sleep later. I grabbed the key and left. I almost tripped down the stairs and handed the key back in. I was surprised when she gave me a refund, apparently I was only up there for two minutes.

Once again I stepped out into the cold, although more scared then before. Taking a deep breath, I started to look around town. I loved the Christmas vibe that was around town with a Christmas tree and presents around it. I talked to all the weird monsters, including Monster Kid, who made me wonder why I'm wearing stripes. I'm not a kid anymore. I went to the 'librarby' and read books about monster biology and some of their history. I went in Grillby's for a little, just to talk to all the monsters. I then walked past the skeleton brothers house.

It was a double storied house with Christmas lights wrapped around certain parts and a wreath on the door. There were two mailboxes to the left, one for Sans and one for Papyrus. Sans' one was full of mail whereas Papyrus' was empty. It's so sad that despite Papyrus being a fun caring person, nobody will be friends with him.

After this I walked through the end of the town to meet Papyrus. I felt so bad for him, he doesn't know what to do. On one hand he could be friends with me, even though I don't deserve him. Or he could capture me and finally be part of the royal guard, even though Undyne probably still won't let him in.

There was a strange fog at the end of town. I could barely see the faint figure of Papyrus.

"HUMAN. ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOME COMPLEX FEELINGS. FEELINGS LIKE...THE JOY OF FINDING ANOTHER PASTA LOVER...THE ADMIRATION FOR ANOTHER'S PUZZLE-SOLVING SKILLS...THE DESIRE TO HAVE A COOL, SMART PERSON THINK YOU ARE COOL. THESE FEELINGS... THEY MUST BE WHAT YOU ARE FEELING RIGHT NOW!!!"

Oh Papyrus...

"I CAN HARDLY IMAGINE WHAT IT MUST BE LIKE TO FEEL THAT WAY. AFTER ALL, I AM VERY GREAT. I DON'T EVER WONDER WHAT HAVING LOTS OF FRIENDS IS LIKE. I PITY YOU... LONELY HUMAN...WORRY NOT!!! YOU SHALL BE LONELY NO LONGER! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL BE YOUR..."

Papyrus turned away looking sad.

"NO...NO, THIS IS ALL WRONG! I CAN'T BE YOU FRIEND! YOU ARE A HUMAN! I MUST CAPTURE YOU! THEN, I CAN FULFILL MY LIFELONG DREAM!!! POWERFUL! POPULAR! PRESTIGIOUS!!! THAT'S PAPYRUS!!! THE NEWEST MEMBER... OF THE ROYAL GUARD! NYEH HEH HEH!"

I sent a flirty wink at Papyrus.

"WHAT!? FL-FLIRTING!? SO YOU FINALLY REVEAL YOUR ULTIMATE FEELINGS! W-WELL! I'M A SKELETON WITH VERY HIGH STANDARDS!!!"

I answered him honestly, "I have zero redeeming qualities"

"OH NO!!! THAT HUMILITY...IT REMINDS ME OF, MYSELF!!! YOU'RE MEETING ALL MY STANDARDS!!!'

Shit, no I'm not a good person Pap. Still I kept flirting with him.  I jumped over his easy bone attack, Sans was way harder. Then I blew a kiss to him.

"I GUESS THIS MEANS I HAVE TO GO ON A DATE WITH YOUR...? LET'S DATE L-LATER!! AFTER I CAPTURE YOU!"

The rest of the fight was easy, I dodged his attacks effortlessly. And Papyrus kept dabbing things behind his ear, until he realised he doesn't have ears. Once he got tired out, he offered me mercy, which I gladly accepted. I don't need a repeat of last time.

"I BELIEVE IN YOU! YOU CAN DO A LITTLE BETTER! EVEN IF YOU DON'T THINK SO!"

"no..." I say frowning.

"NYOO HOO HOO...I CAN'T EVEN STOP SOMEONE AS WEAK AS YOU...UNDYNE'S GONG TO BE DISAPPOINTED IN ME. I'LL NEVER JOIN THE ROYAL GUARD...AND...MY FRIEND QUANTITY WILL REMAIN STAGNANT!"

Papyrus fell down onto his knees and started crying. That broke my heart. Even though I don't deserve Papyrus' friendship, he needs someone. And if that someone happens to be an ex-killer, then so be it.

"Let's be friends" I said walking up to him. Papyrus looked up and wiped his tears off.

"REALLY!? YOU WANT TO BE FRIENDS, WITH ME??? WELL THEN... I GUESS... I GUESS I CAN MAKE AN ALLOWANCE FOR YOU!"

He stood, and then picked me up giving me a rib crushing hug.

"WOWIE!! WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD OUR FIRST DATE... AND I'VE ALREADY MANAGED TO HIT THE FRIEND ZONE!! WHO KNEW THAT ALL I NEEDED TO MAKE PALS WAS TO GIVE PEOPLE AWFUL PUZZLES AND THEN FIGHT THEM??"

Putting me down he said, "YOU TAUGHT ME A LOT, HUMAN. I HEREBY GRANT YOU PERMISSION TO PASS THROUGH! AND I'LL GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO THE SURFACE."

After telling where to go, he invited me over for the date and then went off yelling "NYEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH!!!"

"He looked really happy"

I jumped at the sudden voice beside me, but it was Chara.

"Yeah..he did"

"So are you going to go on that 'date' with him?"

"Uh..."

Chara glared at me angrly, "Seriously? You know he's waiting for you right now, it'll break his heart if you don't show"

"Yeah, I know. I just don't think I deserve to be happy with him after what I've done."

"Then stop thinking about yourself. Going over to his house is to make him feel better, not you"

"Okay okay", I said throwing my hands up on defeat.

"Where have you been anyway? I haven't seen you since we left the ruins."

"You know I don't like that comedian..."

"Yeah, but why?" I knew it wasn't safe to push Chara's buttons, but it's not like she can do anything to me at the moment.

"Just drop it" She spat angrly, then she disappeared.

Sighing I began to make my way back to Snowdin, hoping I won't run into Sans on the way. If he was avoiding me, then I'll avoid him.

After many days of procrastinating, chapter 5 is complete with over 2000 words. That's my biggest chapter so far.

Anyway, sorry for bad writing and lack of description. I've started actually giving descriptions for things now, and I'll be working on that in future chapters. Also sorry if my story is repetitive to the actual Undertale story, the next chapters should be something different.
