Hope's POV

I was riding my horse through the woods. I had her at a gallop since I was being chased by something.

"You can run but you can't hide", the monster's voice boomed through the forest causing me to go faster.

Its after me because I found an aqua colored stick in the river behind my house.

*Flashback*

I was raking the yard when I noticed something shine in the water of the river behind my house. I picked it up and power ran through me.

"I smell an energem", a voice boomed.

Out walked a half lion-half humanoid type thing.

"I know you have an energem give it to me", it said.

"No", I said.

"Fine", it said and shot fireballs at my house.

My house started burning and I could her my mom and dad yelling for me and my baby sister crying. I had just lost my family. The monster stood there laughing and I ran to get Scarlett and galloped away with the monster following me.

*end*

I wasn't paying attention which caused Scarlett to trip and fall. Scarlett was fine but my leg was badly injured. The monster caught up to me.

"Fury", a familiar voice yelled.

Fury was the name of the monster that killed my family. I saw blasts and then the smile of the one and only, Chase Randall. He picked me up gently.

"Everything is going to be fine Hope", Chase said.

"What about Scarlett", I said my voice barely a whisper.

"Riley has her", Chase said. I nodded.

I let darkness consume me.
