I overtook Nick as I came out of the VR arena.

"Where are you going, lover boy?" Nick teased.

"I'm going to find Mr Daniel, and for the millionth time, don't call me that,"

"Are you sure you're not trying to find Argenta?"

"No, I'm not doing this to find Argenta,"

He took a few long steps, stood in front of me, blocking my path, and stared at me with amusement and disbelief.

And I stared back.

The staring contest went on for a while, but then I gave in.

"Okay, maybe I am. But only because Argenta's a friend and she was acting very strange back there,"

Another stare.

"Really,"

Staring intensified.

"I'm not lying,"

Accepting my attraction towards Argenta in front of him was something I wouldn't do even in my wildest dreams.

He just kept on staring at me.

"Okay, fine!" I exhaled.

"There it is," He said with a knowing smirk, "why don't you just accept that you love her?"

"I don't love her,"

"You will," he sang as he turned and skipped down the hallway.

"Oh yeah, what are you, the clairvoyant?"

"Nope, I'm a fanboy, and you too are my OTP,"

"That still doesn't mean you can see the future,"

He halted in his tracks, and I smirked, knowing that I finally had something to tease him about.

And with that, I triumphantly walked away, from a flustered and blushing Nick, towards Argenta. And I was pretty sure this stupid little crush would be over soon. Can't afford distractions, now, can we?

I reached the faculty and located Mr Daniel's cabin facilely.

"You have to start letting her loose, use her to your advanta-"

"It's too dangerous!"

I could hear Mr Daniel and Argenta arguing about something, so I decided to stay outside and eavesdrop.

I know, I've got no manners, sue me.

I didn't know what happened to her back there, and I don't like not knowing.

I needed answers.

"You have to start to control it, kiddo. She would become too dangerous if you don't,"

"You don't understand. She's a ruthless killer who cannot be trusted. I don't have any control over her. I lose, time & again,"

The spite in Argenta's voice sent chills down my spine.

"How'd you stop her in the simulation?"

That was all she said before a long pause.

And that one word had the power to send all my hormones into overdrive.

"Who's there?" Mr Daniel barked.

I started running away from the cabin as fast as a shopaholic who heard there's a sale at the mall and entered the first door I encountered.

Let's just say this could be counted as the worst day ever.

The door was the second door to Mr Daniel's cabin. The guy's cabin was a friggin' palace. I mean, not literally a palace, but it was still MASSIVE.

"Lorcan," Mr Daniel said as he entered his cabin, "You were eavesdropping on us?"

"Well, I wasn't eavesdropping, I just happened to be outside when you were discussing something, and well, I'm not deaf. So, technically, I was just being, um, not deaf,"

"And did you run like your life depended on it because you're not deaf too?" He shot back, and I heard Argenta snicker from beside me.

"I- Um- Ugh," I sighed, "If it makes you feel any better, I didn't hear much, just the part where you asked her how she stopped the woman in the simulation,"

"Hmm,"

Really?

That's it?

I was expecting at least a scolding...

"We'll continue our discussion later, Argenta,"

"There's nothing to discuss, sir. There is no way in hell I'm ever letting her win again,"

"You and I both know that's not possible,"

"I will try nonetheless. Letting her win is an invitation to death and destruction,"

"May I ask something?" I interrupted.

Mr Daniel nodded his head, and I continued, "Who was that woman? I mean, Argenta clearly beat her pretty good, so why are you both so worried about her?"

They exchanged a look, and then Argenta broke the silence.

"I'll tell you later, Lory,"

"Ookayy,"

Not creepy at all!

"Did he just?" Mr Daniel said.

"He does that a lot,"

Crap! Did I say that out loud again?!

Argenta and I walked out of Mr Daniel's cabin and made our way to our dorms, walking in silence the whole time.

When we reached my dorm, Argenta said, "Just in case you're still wondering,"

She walked closer to me and leaned in so that her lips were almost touching my ear.

"Yes, you did, pretty face," and with that, she winked and disappeared into her dorm room while I kept standing there with my eyes wide and my heart fluttering in my chest like it wanted to come out.

It was 7:30 PM when Nick and I heard a knock on our door.

"Go get it," I said.

"Nah, I'm not moving. I'm way too comfortable right now," He retorted.

"And I'm tired,"

"You're tired?! You didn't even die!"

"It's not my fault that you did, 19 times, to be exact,"

"Dying that many times takes courage and energy,"

"It also takes a hell lot of stupidity," I snickered, " How on Earth did you even manage to do it?!"

He stuck his tongue out like a kid and threw a pillow at me that I caught easily.

"ARE YOU DOOFUSES GONNA OPEN THE DOOR TODAY, OR NOT?!" We heard Jax shout from the other side.

"NAH, WE'RE GOOD," I yelled back.

"FINE, THEN!"

I expected the door to be kicked open, but instead, there was eery silence. Nick and I both exchanged confused looks and decided to walk to the door, not to open it, though, just to hear if they were up to something.

It was not until our ears were against the door that we started hearing whispers. No, not whispers, moans.

I pushed my ear closer to the door and felt my heart crush.

"Adam..." Argenta moaned. Argenta.

"ADAM..." another moan, more heated than the previous, and they just kept getting louder and more frequent.

Let's just say the frequency of the moans was directly proportional to the cube of my anger.

WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING?!

I burst open the door and stormed outside, faster than a woodpecker could peck. I was burning in rage, and I could practically feel steam escaping my ears.

I never got this angry, but something about all this made me want to snap Adam's neck off.

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'R-" I stopped halfway when I saw what they were doing.

Nothing inappropriate.

The whole squad was standing in front of our door, and Adam and Argenta weren't even standing together.

That's when I realised; I had walked into a trap.

"Told you it'd work," Jackson snickered nonchalantly.

"Oh, shut up," Argenta rolled her eyes and walked past me into my dorm.

They all followed her in, but Jax stayed behind. So, it was just him and a dumbstruck me.

What the hell did I just do?!

"You like her, it's okay, just accept it," He chortled as he patted my back.

"I don't like her. I just didn't want anything inappropriate happening right in front of my dorm,"

"You sure, bro?"

"Yeah, I don't like her,"

"Hmm, let's see,"

With that, he walked inside and left me alone in the corridor.

Oh, what is going on in that stupid little brain of his?!

I dismissed my thoughts and went inside my dorm, locking the door behind me.

Nick, Reyna, Willia and Yara were seated on Nick's bed. Brittney, Cleo, Adam and Argenta sat on mine, and Jackson was sitting on the floor, his back facing our entryway.

That was when I noticed what Argenta was wearing. Very short shorts.

IS SHE TRYING TO KILL ME?!

Then I saw who she was sitting with. Adam freakin' Scott.

Feeling anger boil inside, I walked to my bed and gestured for Argenta to move over. She just shook her head, so I did it again.

She shook her head again, and just as I was about to nod again, I felt a hand wrap around my wrists.

"Oh, just sit with me, drama queen," Jax said.

"Unless you're bothered with her sitting with Adam," He whispered the last part and gave me a knowing look.

"I don't care," I shrugged, but gods know I did.

"So, what are we going to do?" Brittney asked.

"Let's play 'truth or dare'," Jax suggested.

"Of course," I scoffed, seeing right through what the bastard was trying to do.

Apparently, I was the only one who didn't want to play it, and we ended up arranging in a circle, and a water bottle was placed in the middle.

"Me first!" Willia shrieked.

She spun the bottle, and it landed on....Nick.

Cool

"Dare," He said, dare I say, daringly.

"Kiss the most attractive person in this room,"

I saw a blush creep its way to Nick's cheeks as he started crawling towards Reyna.

He asked for her permission sheepishly, and when she said yes, he started to lean in closer.

What was supposed to be an innocent peck turned passionate and heated in no time. It literally took all of us coughing as loud as possible to make them stop. Even though I was happy for Nick, I didn't want to witness that.

They broke apart, and Nick crawled back to his place. The blush on both of their cheeks was evident, and I couldn't help but laugh at how flustered Nick looked.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Argenta looking at me with a smile on her face. An action as little as that made me smirk.

"Done staring?" I asked smugly, and she quickly turned away, blushing.

Meanwhile, Nick spun the bottle, and it landed on Jax.

"Truth or dare?"

"Dare,"

"Order pizzas for all of us,"

I have been blind to the possibilities...

After Jax was done, he spun the bottle that decided to stop on Argenta.

Great! Just great!

"Choose," Jax said with a challenging look.

"Dare," She said confidently.

"Reenact the most romantic scene from the 'Enchanted Tale of the Woods of Wishes' with..." He paused as he scanned the room, "...Adam,"
