"That was quick," Sean remarked.

"They weren't going to wait a whole day," I scoffed.

Idiot.

Seriously, what does she see in this idiot?

"Here they come," Argenta said when she saw silhouettes pacing toward us.

The clan of memorisutira charged at us at full speed as we prepared to defend and kill.

It only took them a few seconds to reach us, and as soon as they did, we started fighting. I slashed at one memorisutira with my sword, blocking another while the first died.

"WHY WON'T THEY DIE?!" Atria shrieked.

"It takes some time! Strike a few times and keep defending!" Cupcake shouted back.

The first died, and I started attacking the second, blocking numbers three and four. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a memorisutira sneak up from behind Cupcake.

"BEHIND YOU!" I shouted to warn her.

She grew a hand from her back and twisted her head to look back while her primary hands were occupied blocking three of them.

Our fight lasted for a good fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes of slashing and striking, blocking and not stopping for even a second.

The last memorisutira I was killing died when I stopped to look at the others. Sean and Cupcake were also done; the only one left with a memorisutira to kill was Atria.

"Round two initiated," The robotic voice said when Atria's last memorisutira died.

Everything went black, and our injuries and tiredness were cured.

When the second round began, we saw that we were standing on the training ground. Once again, memorisutira came from all around us, growling and howling.

These things are gross.

Thus it began again; we started defending, slashing, killing any memorisutira neared.

A few memorisutira down, one of them managed to throw my sword.

Fuck!

What do I do? What do I do? What the fuck do I do?!

Fire!

With that, I set myself on fire.

This kept them away temporarily, just enough time for me to get my sword back.

I kept going forward slowly, using nearly all of my energy to keep the fire going and away from my friends. Step by step, I came closer to the clementine iridium blade.

As soon as my hand came into contact with the sword, it lit up. It was on fire!

Fuck.

I was panicking to stop the fire when a memorisutira pounced on me. Overcame by panic, I started swinging my sword around frantically, hoping to get the attacker while my eyes shut on instinct.

One of these swings felt like they slashed through it. I knew I had to keep going for at least a minute since it took around thirty seconds for a memorisutira to die. But that was with the eyes open. So, I opened my eyes, determined to keep slashing until it died. I prepared myself for a slice on sight. So I was more than surprised to open my eyes to nothing.

I had only slashed it once. How the fuck did it just vanish?!

"Maybe it was a glitch in the simulation," Sean's voice came from beside me.

"Yeah, that makes sense," I agreed.

"We are on a roll!" Atria cheered and then proceeded to collapse on the ground with tiredness.

Where's Cupcake?

I looked around to see that she was still fighting, and more of them kept coming at her.

She was doing a simply brilliant job. Just watching her fight could give someone goosebumps.

"Should we go and help?" Atria suggested.

"Nah, let's trouble her," I chuckled.

"Scout's going to be so mad at us," Sean chuckled as well.

"Oh yeah, she i-" I stopped mid-sentence when I saw a memorisutira about to hit her shoulder. Before I knew it, I ran towards her, using all my power to control the tar covering it and keeping it away from her.

"CUPCAKE! 6 O'clock!" I yelled while running, but I guessed she couldn't hear me over the growls.

In another second, I jumped between the memorisutira and her and cut its arm, then proceeded to cut the other arm. I didn't stop until it died.

"CAN'T YOU PAY ANY ATTENTION AT ALL?! AT LEAST BE AWARE IF AN ATTACKER IS APPROACHING FROM BEHIND YOU!" I yelled at her once she killed all of them.

"I'M TRYING!"

"TRY HARDER, DAMMIT! It could've killed you," My voice lowered to a whisper.

"I think she's aware of that," Sean cut in sharply, then turned to Cupcake and placed his hands on her cheeks, "Be careful next time, scout,"

Once again, watching them stand like that made my heart ache, so I just looked away.

"Round three initiated," The robotic voice announced.

This time we were in a dim-lit room, and might I add, horribly dirty.

"Wow, so we just chill here? Coolios," Atria commented.

As if on cue, the door started being banged on, and a fire broke out around it.

"You two will handle the ones coming through the door," Cupcake directed Sean and Atria, "Lory, deal with the fire, and I'll stay with you, killing any that try to get you,"

We all nodded and sprang into action.

I concentrated on the fire, feeling everywhere it had spread and willing it to freeze. It was considerably hard to do since I had never really handled a fire of that magnitude.

"You can do this, Lory!" Cupcake encouraged me.

"Yeah-"

"ARGENTA!" Sean screamed from the door. Atria had already been killed, and Sean was finding it hard to deal with all of the intruders on his own.

"Oh shit," Cupcake cursed.

"Go help him!" I strained, "I've got this,"

"No, what if they get to you?" She said, "The fire and smoke would kill us before they do,"

"They are only coming through the door, Cupcake," I rasped, "Go,"

I kept my eyes on her as she ran to help him.

I was losing energy fast, but looking at her gave me strength. She made me want to keep going just a little longer; she made me stronger. By this time, I knew one thing for a fact; as long as I held her in my heart, I was unstoppable.

Amidst me trying to keep the fire at bay, I saw that there was a memorisutira entering from the window.

I can't die. No. If I die, so does Cupcake, and whatever happens, I won't let my Cupcake die. I need to stop this fire before it gets to me.

Come on, LORY!

I poured all the strength I could muster; every atom in my body worked at a level I had never experienced before. A scream left my mouth that sounded almost like an exhausted growl. The memorisutira was now only a few metres away from me.

"You can do this, pretty face," Argenta's voice said in my head, and the mere thought of her gave me more energy.

I stopped the fire just when the memorisutira was right in front of me.

Unstoppable.

I stood still as its claws penetrated my chest, a stream of blood immediately oozing out and soaking through my shirt. I felt a stinging pain, an intense tingle, like getting electrocuted. It made me drop to my knees.

"LORY!" I barely heard Cupcake scream.

Time slowed down, every sense blurring.

My wound started heating up, heat unimaginably intense, burning through my chest.

The heat kept increasing, but the more blood I lost, the colder it got.

I placed my right hand on the wound and pressed. It didn't help in the least. I was losing blood and consciousness.

When I felt Cupcake's hand lift my neck and place it on her lap, all I could think was, "When did I lay down?"

Using nearly all my energy left, I opened my eyes and smiled. My vision was blurred. Cupcake's face was tear-stained.

Don't cry, please

My chest was getting colder. The pain was getting intolerable now, all my adrenaline had worn off, and I could feel my eyes trying to shut. Keeping them open was getting harder by the second.

I wanted to say something to her. Something. Anything to make her smile. But I couldn't. My mouth had stopped working. I couldn't breathe. My hearing depreciated until everything was just white noise. All I did then, was look at my Cupcake and wipe off a tear from under her right eye with my thumb before my eyes closed on their own, tired from being open for too long. It felt like goodnight. But all I was doing was waiting for the morning.

The first half of the story is about to come to an end, it will probably happen in the next 6-7 chapters. From there on, things will become so unpredictable and amazingly thriller I can not even explain.
