Argenta'a POV

Lory has been trying to apologise for quite a few days now. He pounces on any chance to talk to me and explain why he did what he did. But we were almost always interrupted. Over these past few days, he's sent me cupcakes and cookies and has tried to get me to talk to him.

I feel like I've punished him enough; I want to listen to him now. I miss my best friend.

I miss the guy who can make me smile even when I'm anxious as hell about a mission.

I miss the guy who knows what I'm feeling without telling him.

I miss the dork who constantly finds ways to annoy me because he finds it funny.

I miss the Lory I fell in love with.

Yeah, I love him.

I'm on the roof of my dorm building right now.

I've been coming here a lot recently. I got the place some boxing bags, nunchucks, swords, knives and other stuff to play with.

Fighting helps me clear my mind, and God knows how much I had felt the need to clear my mind all the time we were not talking.

There are also some fairy lights, though. The roof looks enchantingly aesthetic.

Enough depressing stuff, on to the good news.

I have decided to forgive Lory. I'm going to go to him and hug the life out of him. Then he can explain himself.

The hug came before the explanation because I'm Lory deprived. Sue me.

So, yeah, I'm gonna go to him.

I pick up my water bottle, jacket and phone from the mat and walk inside the building, locking the roof.

"You're back!" Reyna exclaims when I step inside the dorm, startling me a little.

"Yeah, like every day," I comment and go to the mini-fridge in our dorm to get some juice.

"Lory came by," She says.

"He did?!" I turn at lightning speed to face Reyna, my face lighting up despite me, but I bang my head against the fridge door on accident.

"Ouch," I hiss.

"Oh, look at the happiness," Rey teases me.

"I'm not happy. I just wanted to know why Lory stopped by." I say, only to be met with a sceptical teasing look.

"And I believe you," She says knowingly.

"Just tell me why he came here," I exhale.

Ughh

I can never win with her.

"Same reason, he said he'll be at the observatory if you wanted to talk,"

"Oh?"

Observatory? He's not the kind of person that's into the universe.

He's more of a "just give me a sports channel to watch or a game to play, and I won't bother you" guy.

Alsooo, I think there's a match going on. Why in the world has Pretty Face decided to miss it and go somewhere he never does?

"Oh?" Rey deadpans, "That's all you're going to say? Ar, I think you should forgive him now,"

"I know, that's why I've decided to go listen to his explanation,"

"Noo, you should really forgi- Wait, what did you say?" She widens her eyes when she realises what I said.

"I said I'm going to talk to him,"

"OH, MY GODDDDD!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY!" She jumps up from her bed and hugs me.

"Too- tight," I choke out with a grin.

"Sorry," She smiles sheepishly and lets me go.

"So I'm gonna go..." I trail off, and her face lit up.

"Go get him. Oh, and if you guys decide to reduce that sexual tension, just call me. I'll go somewhere and take Nick with me after I lock the doors of the others' dorms-"

"Rey!" I shriek, "We're not going to have sex! I am only going there to let him explain himself."

"And then he'll confess his undying love for you and kiss the daylights out of you. Then he'll grab you and-"

I wish

"You are crazy," I chuckle and skip out of my dorm.

Today is gonna be awesommmeee.

"Ooh, someone looks happy," Nick says when I pass him in the hall.

"I'm going to talk to Lory,"

"Really?!" He exclaims, his grin as bright as the sun.

"Yupp," I smile.

"Oh, finally!"

"Finally," I chuckle and start speed walking towards the observatory.

I was walking past the cafeteria when I bumped into Sean.

"Hey, little dork," He chuckles, "Stalking me?"

"You wish, you snake," I chuckle too.

"Ah! You really hurt me, madame," He places a hand on his heart, feigning hurt.

"Do I care? Absolutely not."

He chuckles a little and then asks, "So where are you headed, milady?"

"To the observatory," I reply.

"Oh, I forgot what a nerd you are," He rolls his eyes while smiling.

"Hey!!" I slap his arm playfully, "I'm going there because Lory's there,"

"Weren't you mad at him?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Yeah, but I've decided to forgive him." I say, "So I'll see you late-"

"Wait! Before you go, there's um, there's something I need to ask you," He gulps.

"Go ahead," I wait for him to speak, which apparently, he has forgotten how to.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" He finally says.

"Well, classes. Duh. Then I have to help Ms Brister organise the star maps in the observatory. And then, I'm free." I tell him my schedule for tomorrow, "Why?"

"I was wondering, only if you want to, no pressure; I was wondering if I could take you out." He spoke out.

Woah

"Take out like on a date or kill me and hide my body in a place where no one will be able to find me?" I blurt and chuckle sheepishly.

"Date, definitely a date, no bodies, no hiding, or killing. Just a romantic, violence-free date." He chuckles uncomfortably.

"Umm,"

What do I say?

I like Lory.

No, I love Lory.

I can't do this to him. Or Sean.

Brain?

You up there?

Say something!

Anything!

But nothing comes out, so I just stand there staring at Sean with wide eyes, opening and closing my mouth like a goldfish.

"Of course," He chuckles humourlessly to himself, "I'm sorry. I'll just, uh, I'll go back to my squad," He smiles sadly and leaves without another word.

I feel bad.

After a few seconds of standing there, I resume my journey to the observatory where Lory said he would be, still feeling a subtle heaviness from Sean's broken face when I didn't say anything.

I am a monster.

I enter the observatory and start to look for a certain pretty face.

Well.

I found it funny!

When I see a blur of his soft brown hair on the mezzanine, I all but run up the stairs. But stop dead in my tracks when I see him talking to Nina.

I stand there waiting for their conversation to be over because, honest to God, I am in no mood to talk to that chihuahua.

But then I see her pull Lory's face towards her. And I see them kiss. Her hands go behind his head and tug on his hair.

The world seems to swirl around me, the walls of my heart shattering as I watch their lips move against each others'. Suddenly, my knees feel too weak to hold me up.

I stand on the same spot, dumbfounded as I feel my heart break into a million pieces. Tears prick the back of my eyes, and slowly I turn and walk down the same stairs that I ran up.

I bow my head down as the tears fall uncontrollably so no one can see them.

Why does stuff like this always happen to me?

Is there something wrong with me?

But then again, it was unrealistic to think that someone liked me back.

Of course, he likes her.

She's perfect...

God, I hate her!

I continue walking past the buildings and step into my dorm, crying.

"Did you finally kiss-" Rey stops mid-sentence, "Hey, what's wrong?" She hugs me while I cry into her shoulder.

"H- he was ki- kissing Nina," I say between hysterics.

"Jeez, why am I crying?" I break apart and sit on my bed, "It's not like he was my b- boyfriend," I sniffle as more tears fall.

"Oh, Ar," She looks at me with a concerned look before hugging me tightly.

"You know what, I need to make a call," I say and stand up, wiping away the tears.

Grabbing my phone, I walk into the hallway and open contacts.

I take a deep breath when I hear the dial tone, readying myself to say the words.

"Ar? What's up?" The deep voice says.

"Are you still willing to take me out?"

"Always, dum dum," Sean says, and I'm pretty sure I can hear the smile in his voice.

"I'll see you tomorrow then," I say.

"See you then, Argenta,"
