Ch-21 Really Bad Lying
"I'm gonna go put her to bed," Billy said as he picked up Ellie in his arms.
A few minutes after we came inside, Dylan called Cupcake. He wanted to tell her to stay away from the house.
As Cupcake's parents were not home, and she had come to mine, Dylan had decided to throw a party for his friends that kinda-sorta went out of control. As a result, Cupcake's short visit got upgraded to a night stay. And I was not complaining.
At the moment, we were sprawled out on the sofa, with Cupcake's legs in my lap and her head on the handrest, while I was sitting upright. Well, sort of. My back was basically a "C" while my legs were stretched out in front of me.
It was 2 o'clock in the night when my eyes started to droop, and soon after, my head dropped, and I fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"They look soo cute!"
"Mom, don't start fangirling here, please. But yes, they do look cute,"
"I'm taking a picture!"
I opened my eyes slowly but closed them faster than the flash because of the bright light that burned my retina.
I could feel the sofa underneath me; I was lying across it. And my hand was wrapped around something. And I could feel something heavy on my right side.
My left hand was placed on that heavy thing (that was moving rhythmically)
"I want to take another one!"
"Moooom,"
Why the fuck are they shouting?!
I groaned and moved a little, and the object on me moved too. Then it wrapped its hand around my stomach and nuzzled its face deeper into my chest.
Cupcake.
Once I realised that it was my Cupcake, I wrapped her closer to myself and placed my chin on the top of her head, after a mini cardiac arrest; obviously.
"THIS IS SO CUTE, I CAN'T!"
"Mom,"
And then Cupcake moved and pushed herself up.
Nope. You're not going anywhere.
So, I pulled her back and caged her in my arms while she kept shuffling around.
After shuffling for a few seconds, she slapped my chest.
"God, Cupcake, what is it?" I groaned, still sleepy.
"Look to your left," She mumbled and sat up again.
"No, there's too much light," I said as I pulled her back.
"Lory," She warned and sat up again.
"What?" I opened my eyes halfway.
She grabbed my chin and twisted my face so that I could look to my left.
Mom!
My beloved mother and brother were standing a few feet away from the sofa. The sofa that Cupcake and I were currently sleeping on. Together. She was lying on top of me. My hands were wrapped around her. We were cuddling.
This is bad.
I shot up, and so did Cupcake.
"Mom, what are you doing?" I asked when I noticed the camera app opened on her phone.
"I just, um, I was, um, breakfast's ready! Let's go!"
"Let them cuddle, mom!" Billy wiggled his eyebrows and looked at me teasingly, "I don't think either of them is hungry right now. Are you?"
"Shut up, Billy,"
"Did you have a comfortable sleep, Argenta?" He switched to teasing her.
Cupcake looked down sheepishly while her cheeks glowed hot pink and nodded so slightly that I almost missed it.
She had a comfortable sleep.
"Billy, leave them alone," Mom interjected, "Come on, kids,"
"Argenta, Dylan called; he said he'd be here in a few hours to pick you and Ellie,"
"Okay, thanks, Sara," Cupcake smiled.
"And Lorca, I have an amazing day planned for us," Mom continued while Cupcake and I shared a worried look.
We had to go to Gladys and inform our mentors about what happened at night. I could not stay at home.
"Mom, I- I can't stay at home today," I stuttered.
"Why?" Her smile dropped.
Say something believable
Say something believable
Say somethi-
"Cupcake and I are going on a date," I blurted out, and my Cupcake got an intense coughing fit and coughed out the pancake that was in her mouth.
I rushed over to get her a glass of water and patted her back.
"You alright?" I asked.
"Yup!" She said, weirdly, "Better than alright! Never been alrighter! I'm so alright; I think I can climb Mt. Everest! I-"
"Cupcake, you're blabbering," I stopped her nervous prattle.
"I'm gonna go wake up Ellie. Thanks for breakfast, Sara. It was amazing," She smiled and ran up the stairs.
"Soo," Mom trailed off excitedly.
Uh oh, here it comes.
"I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" She shrieked like a 13-year old, "You finally asked her out! I'm so proud of you!"
"Mom, you're fangirling again," Billy stated, bored while playing with his pancake.
"Of course I'm fangirling! Lorca's going on a date!" She punched the air and did a little bouncy thing.
This is all your doing, Lory.
Deal with it.
Mom was still fangirling in the kitchen when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" I exclaimed and ran to the door.
"Hey, Dylan!" I greeted Cupcake's elder brother at the door.
"Hey, Doofus!" He chuckled and pulled me in for a bro hug.
"Where are my idiots?" He asked.
"Just a sec, CUPCAKE!" I hollered into the house, "DICK'S HERE!"
"HI, DYLAN!" Billy's voice boomed from the living room, and his rushed footsteps could be heard.
In no time, he was standing next to me with a three-mile-wide grin on his face.
"They're finally going on a date!" Willy exclaimed.
"Who? Dumb and dumber?" Dylan asked, his face lightening up, and my brother just nodded frantically.
"Oh! Finally! Now I won't have to listen to her talking about hi-"
"Let's go, Dyl," Cupcake hurried down the stairs with Ellie in her arms.
"Hey, just for the record, I'm dumb, right?" I asked.
What? I was genuinely curious if she was dumber between us, even though I knew that was true in no shape or form.
"You're dumb if you think that," Billy cackled.
"Let's go," Cupcake said again once she was at the door too.
"Let's go, little sister," Dylan said and walked out.
"You really need to work on your lies, man," Jax commented as we all made our way to Mr Daniel's office.
"You think I don't know that?" I retorted.
"We have bigger problems at hand," Willia stated and knocked on Mr Daniel's door.
We heard a muffled come in and went inside.
"Oh, hi, kids, I wasn't expecting you all today," Mr Daniel greeted us.
"We saw a memorisutira at Lory's house yesterday," Argenta said.
"You what?!" He shot up from his chair.
"What you heard," Nick sang.
"This is not good. This is extremely bad; in fact," Mr Daniel blabbered, "You all will have to come back. It won't be safe for you or your family members if you stay at home,"
"Damn, why are you that worried?" Brittney asked.
"Seeing a memorisutira at your house means it recognises you. It remembers. They shouldn't be able to do that. They're evolving. And that means a bigger danger for us,"
A/N:
Heyyyy, lovelies! I hope you're doing well.
Evolving memorisutira?! Things are about to get wild.
Anyway, that's it for today, see ya next Friday!
Have a great week<3
