"DON'T POUR WATER ON-" I yelled but was stopped by the sound of water splashing on the electric switchboard.

"AND NOW IT'LL BE EVEN HARDER TO STOP THE FIRE! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, NICHOLAS?!" Jax yelled, appearing in front of Nick.

"WHERE THE HELL DID RAJA GO?!" Yara hollered.

"SOMEONE FUCKING HELP ME HOLD UP THIS DARNED ROOF!" Argenta shouted, getting exhausted from holding the metal in her hands.

"MY ARM GOT FUCKING CUT OFF!" Brittney screamed.

"WHERE THE FUCK AM I?!" Cleo cried.

Yeah, let's rewind.

~a few hours ago~

"The powers you get will only enhance what you're already good at," Ms Lily said, "Expect to find them to be what you can already do, just better,"

We were standing in Ms Lily's office, she was giving us some basic instructions about our powers.

"How will we get to know what they are?" Yara asked.

"There still isn't a way to figure that out, so you'll just have to wait for them to make an appearance," Ms Lily replied, "Now come here so I can cuff your hands,"

Last day of petsitting Raja!

Don't get me wrong, Raja was a good griffin, but petsitting it with hands cuffed was not pleasant.

We got our hands cuffed and walked to Raja's abode, the nesting den.

"Helloooo, Sunshine!" Jax hollered and woke poor Raja from his sleep.

Raja lifted its head and made a sound between a growl and a hoot.

"BAHAHAHAHA," Nick guffawed beside me.

What? What was so funny?

"What's so funny?" I asked him.

"He said that- BAHAHAHAHAHA," He wheezed, "he said that- OH MY GOD, I CAN'T-"

"He said 'hello, sunshine'! What in the world is funny about that?! Are you on drugs?!"

When he finally caught his breath, he said, "Noo, Raja, he said, 'Shut up, or I'll kick you where the sun don't shine!' "

And then he broke into another fit of laughter.

"Nick! You understood what Raja said?" Brittney questioned the obvious.

"Oh, shit! I can understand animals!"

My little Disney princess!

"Please don't start singing and sitting around with animals all day because I will not kiss you when your evil stepmother poisons you!" I added dramatically.

"You traitor!" He said, and we both looked at each other and started laughing.

"You are two weird people," Brittney remarked and went ahead to sit beside Raja.

"I really need to figure out how to turn this thing off," Willia exhaled with her hands massaging her temples.

"I'm gonna go fill the bucket, Ar, wanna come with?" Jax asked Argenta.

"Sure," She said and went with him.

"Where's Cleo?" Reyna asked.

"He wanted to mess with a friend of his who got heightened senses. Said he'll just go near him and shout at the top of his lungs," I snickered.

"I'm gonna go sneak into the canteen and get something good for us to eat," Adam said, "What do y'all want?"

Okay, so we may have found a way to sneak good food out of the canteen. I mean, come on, just salads? For a month? We couldn't handle that.

"You know what we usually get. Just get that," Jax said.

Adam nodded and started walking towards the cafeteria.

We were all doing our respective tasks when Cleo came running into the den. He looked frightened.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Phil's friend has super strength. He's gonna KILL ME!" Cleo shouted while running backwards.

Things just went downhill from thereon.

Cleo stepped on Raja's tail, making him shriek in pain. He growled and shot up, teeth bared and flapping his wings frantically.

The flapping caused his flight's height to fluctuate badly, and he collided with the metallic roof of the den.

Loud bangs resounded as the metal started falling down piece by piece.

One of the metal pieces fell on the electric switchboard, causing a spark and before we knew it, a fire broke out.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see Nick reaching for the water bucket, but that wasn't a huge concern right now.

A sharp-edged metal piece fell on Brittney's arm and cut it in half!

"What the-," She said as she gaped at where her hand used to be.

Fuck!

It was, however, a problem only for a second, because the next moment, her arm started growing back!

What the fuck!

Where the hell is cupcake?!

Oh, and cupcake is Argenta. I called her that because the last time we snuck into the canteen, she basically pounced on the cupcakes, and it was a shocking surprise just how many of those she could eat.

I whipped my head around to find her holding metal pieces in all of her hands. And yes, I do mean all, because where there should've been two, there were about twenty!

"What the actual fu-" I was interrupted by a loud tear in the roof.

"YARA, GET THE HELL AWAY FROM THERE!"

Yara was standing exactly below a falling piece.

But before I could yell, "YARAAAA", Reyna ran up to her and pulled her to safety.

Yes, that happened before I could say her name. She was that fast. She was faster than sound!

"NICK! NO!" Argenta groaned, and I shifted to see what the idiot was doing.

I should've stopped him when I first noticed him!

"WHERE THE HELL DID RAJA GO?!" Yara hollered.

"SOMEONE FUCKING HELP ME HOLD UP THIS DARNED ROOF!" Argenta shouted, getting exhausted from catching the metal in her hands.

"MY ARM GOT FUCKING CUT OFF!" Brittney screamed, finally coming out of her daze.

"WHERE THE FUCK AM I?!" Cleo cried.

What the fuck is happening here?!

Just then, the fire flickered and blazed even more strongly. Now I don't know why, but my first instinct was to stretch out my hand and yell at Jax and Nick to get away from the source.

Normally, my hand would've done nothing. It should've done nothing.

But what happened left me astounded and my mouth agape. The fire stopped right where it was. I stopped it! My friggin' hand froze the fire in place.

I saw Jax grab Nick and disappear from there and appear beside me.

"You can teleport!" I exclaimed, not moving my hand from its place.

"Apparently, yes,"

"Cool!"

"Seriously, guys, where the hell am I?!" Cleo's voice startled us.

I looked around to find what he was doing, but I could not see him.

"I can't see you!" I shouted back.

"No, shit! That's what I've been asking for the past- I don't know what time, idiot!"

"You can become invisible, I think," Willia spoke out.

"Yeah, must be it," Cleo said, "So, how do I reappear?"

I tuned out their conversation and focussed solely on the task at hand. Extinguishing the fire.

Sand! I need sand!

I turned my palm towards the ground and willed for the sand to rise up.

The sand rose, and my heart did a little happy dance, come on, it was my first time controlling elements; I was allowed to dance!

I changed the position of my hand to point towards the direction where I wanted the sand to go.

But, unfortunately, the sand was being really hard to control since my hands weren't moving freely.

Darn, these handcuffs! Constricting my hands, like a bunch of... handcuffs!

After a lot of failed attempts, I was finally able to get the sand to the switchboard.

The fire doused, and I exhaled a sigh of relief.

Oh, phew!

I turned around to see that the others were trying to solve another problem.

Raja.

Lashing out.

They were all trying to get it to calm down. Nick was growling and hooting, conversing with Raja, I assumed while the others were clearing things around. And by others, I mean Yara, who was changing the shape of objects and flattening them so no other metal pieces would be falling.

These powers are sooo cool!

"What the HELL?!" Adam trailed, returning with all our food and obviously missing out on a lot.

"Okay, imma fill you in real quick, listen closely," I said, and he nodded, "Cleo stepped on Raja's tail, the electric switchboard caught fire because Raja is super strong, Nick doesn't know water aggravates electrical fires, I froze fire in place, Argenta grew eighteen hands, Brittney's arm got cut off, a piece of the roof almost fell on Yara, Jax saved Nick by disappearing on time, Cleo couldn't figure where he was, and now we're all trying to control Raja,"

"What the fuck?" Adam looked, well, confused.

"Dear gods, why are you so dumb?! I can control elements, Jax can teleport, Brittney can regenerate, Nicholas can understand and speak animal languages, Reyna can run super-fast, Yara can manipulate objects, Argenta can naturally mutate physically, and Cleo can become invisible,"

"WOW, I missed a lot of stuff,"

"Yup!"

A loud roar stopped us from discussing this any further.

Yara had accidentally hit Raja with a stool.

"Shit! I am having trouble," She panicked, shaking her hands to try to reset or something.

Raja stomped his feet on the ground, causing a hell of a lot of rocks to fly up in the air, but luckily, I could control them. So I raised my hands and stopped them in the air.

"Yara, can you release our cuffs?"Cupcake asked.

"I can try," Yara replied and pointed her hands towards our cuffs.

The next moment, the cuffs released our hands, and I was happy that I could finally do some real action.

Let's show them what you can do!

I brought the floating rocks on the ground and willed for two vines to come and wrap Raja. The vines flew in the air and started creeping on Raja's back. They wrapped around him and kept him from stomping or scratching us with those huge talons of his. But, I still wasn't totally in control of my powers, and apparently, the pressure from the vines was too much. This meant that Raja was in horrible pain because of me.

Fuck!

"Loosen up," I yelled at the vines in frustration.

They just kept tightening, and Raja wailed in pain.

Shit!

I couldn't stomach watching him in pain, so I brought my hands down, and the vines loosened.

"It's alright, pretty face. You did an amazing job!" Argenta reassured.

I smiled at her, but deep down, I was disappointed. Because I failed; at yet another thing.

"Calm down, Raja," Adam's voice broke me out of my reverie, "calm down,"

And Raja did calm down!

Oh, so he can control minds!

Cool!

"Good boy," Adam said as he petted Raja, who made a weird gurgling sound.

Nick chuckled and said, "He's saying he's forty-one years old. How dare you call him a boy!"

"Alright, people, let's get to work and make this place look like what it was before this happened," Argenta said, and we all got to work to make the place look better.

It goes without saying that it was not smooth. We all had newly discovered our powers and did not know how to control them. Reyna kept crashing into the walls of the den; Cleo kept disappearing and yelling "I can't see myself!" everytime that happened; Jax appeared in the weirdest of places, we even had to pull him out of a heap of Raja's poop, yeah, it was disgusting; Yara kept flattening objects even when it wasn't required, I mean, who would want to flatten a chair they were trying to sit on; Brittney became obsessed with cutting off her fingers, yes, it was as gruesome to see as it sounds, she's sick; Adam kept convincing us to do absurd things, Cleo had to dance like an ape for a good half an hour; Argenta grew weird things and had trouble getting rid of them, personally, I think she looked perfect even with a pair of horns on her head, but she didn't think so, so that photo will really help tease her in the future, same goes for the tail; Willia was constantly complaining about our thoughts; and Nicky boy was having the time of his life laughing with Raja who was making snide remarks about us.

The moment Yara welded the last piece of the roof, Mr Arthur, Raja's caretaker, walked in.

"It's time! Leave!" He yelled, and we anything but ran out.

"Well, today was interesting!" Jax commented on the way back to our dorms.

"Hell, yeah, it was!" Brittney exclaimed.

"Listen to me, Lory," Adam jumped in front of me and stared into my eyes.

Shit, he's trying to control my mind! God, I hope it doesn't work!

And then there was the weird pang again, the one I felt when I wished that Willia couldn't read my mind.

"You are going to do my homework for chemistry for the whole week, okay?" Adam finished.

"Ehh, nope," I said, and to say that he was shocked was really the understatement of the year.

"He's immune to our powers, somehow," Willia pointed out.

"Oh, that actually makes sense," I said.

"Maybe that's another power you have," Nick remarked.

"Oh, you don't say!" I said, making everyone chuckle.

These powers really are amazingg!!!
