Jane and George woke up the next morning in Ann's living room to everything being so quite and calm. Jessica and Sam were at the table eating their breakfast quietly while Ann and Madison slept in.
"You two are up early!" Jane says to Sam and Jessica
"I couldn't sleep last night... I've been having so many pains!" Jessica groans
"And when my lady doesn't sleep, I don't either." Sam winks at her
"Sometimes you guys are too lovey for me!" Jane says in disgust
"Have you heard from mom?" George asks as he checks his phone.
"Yeah, she said not to go home and to go to grandmas." Jane says
"Me too. What does this mean? she wants us home as soon as possible." George says
Ann walks in the kitchen with her robe still on and rubs her eyes. She came in just in time to hear the text from Dorthy.
"Well, maybe you guys should go over and see what's going on with mom?" Ann says
"Are you good to drive?" Sam says to Jane
"Yeah, I am good." Jane says
"Keep me updated, okay?" Jessica says
"Yeah, let's get going George"
After George and Jane said their goodbyes Jessica got ready for the day. Jessica and Sam were going to use some of their work money to get started on preparing for the baby. But whatever was going on with Dorthy would be a constant distraction throughout the day for Jessica.

Sam and Jessica headed into the city to do some shopping. As they were driving through some traffic, Sam and Jessica listened to some music.
"You know, babe... you can't keep this truck for long." Jessica says to Sam. Sam's truck was one of his many happy things. He bought the truck off his dad and worked on it for years until it was ready when he got his license. Unfortunately, it only had two seats. Jessica didn't have a car or a license, so Sam had to make the decision to either sell his truck and buy a new one, or put extra money that can go towards the baby into a second car.
"I hate to see it go..." he sighs
"I know, baby. But even if I had a license, which I need my parents signature for, I can't afford a car for us. This truck is our only hope at getting a better one for when we have the baby." She says taking his hand.
"I know... and I will get a good car for our little family." He smiles
"You still have time though." She smiles "We have until late April, early May."
"It will happen. I just need some more time with this old thing. It's treated me good."

Sam and Jessica walk around the mall and stopped in almost baby store. Mainly Jessica wanted to focus on clothes. Her and Sam were very careful with the money they had in order to save the rest for necessities like diapers and important supplies.
"Look at these little shoes! They have smallest little bows on them." Jessica says showing them to Sam.
"Awww, Jess." He says
"I know, they aren't reasonable, but look at these little red shoes. Can't you picture our little girl wearing these on Christmas?" Jessica gives Sam puppy eyes as she holds them to her belly.
"Okay, put them in!" He smiles
"Thank you, lovey." She says giving him a kiss
"What about this cool dinosaur!" He says holding it
"Oh god. Is our little girl going to like dinosaurs
Now?"
"Yes, she is! She's going to be the female version of Ross from Friends." He chuckles
"Well, I got the shoes... you can get the dinosaur." She says as they continue walking.
"Have you heard from Jane or George?" Sam says
"No... I haven't. " she says stopping and looking at little onesies."
He new Jessica was hesitant to talk about her mother. Her parents hurt her so bad that it was hard to think about it. Sam has been trying to instill a happy mindset into Jessica's head to keep her positive and happy throughout the pregnancy. But he knew this was something that kept her mind busy.
"What do you think you'll do when she reaches out?"
Jessica shakes her head... "I have no idea. I guess I have a lot of thinking to do."

Jessica's Grandmothers:
When Jane and George arrived at their grandmothers, they were surprised to see their mother and unpacked and settled in the guest home. Dorthy looked like a mess. She was heartbroken and had spent hours crying. Luckily her mother was kind enough to be there for her every step of the way.
What was most surprising was all of Jane and George's gifts that were left untouched Christmas morning.
"Mom, what's going on?" Jane says
"Sit down, please." She says as they enter the home.
Jane and George sit down across from their mother in the living room.
It was too hard for Dorthy to hold back the tears. "I'm so sorry. For everything..."
"Mom..." George says with sadness
"No, I've hurt you both. And I've aloud you to be hurt by your father. Everything with kicking out your sisters and taking them for you two, to talk less dinners and endless corrections from your father. I've come to realize that I don't want to live under your fathers rule anymore. So, I've decided to leave him. You kids mean the world to me and are much more important over anything or anyone. I want to reconnect with your sisters, make amends, and be a happy family. I told your father I won't speak to him until he learns that he has wrong and notices all of the damage he has done. Until then, we will be staying with grammie until I can find a place for all of us. Myself, Jessica, And you too. Of course, Ann will be welcome into my home with open arms and she is more than welcome to come stay too! But, I just want to say I'm sorry." Dorthy stares into their blank faces and cry harder and harder by the second.
Seeing Dorthy so vulnerable and sad broke janes heart. For the first time in a very long time she embraced her mother.
"Oh my sweet Jane."
"I love you, mom."
"I love you too Janey."

After a long night of shopping Jessica felt extra uncomfortable and tired. She was in a very miserable stage of her pregnancy and it was taking a huge toll on her young body. She had never felt like this before and couldn't even imagine how much worse it would get.
Jessica cried into her pillow as her body raged with pain. She had called her doctor earlier and he said it was normal for her to be in so much discomfort and offered her a few tips to feel better.
While Ann and Madison ran out to the store to get some things for Jessica to relieve the pain, Sam stayed back with Jessica and called off for his night shift at the farm he was working at. He called his parents and said that he would be staying the night with Jessica to look after her.
Sam sat at the end of the bed rubbing her feet.
"Does this help at all?" He asks
All of the lights were shut off in the room due to Jessica's head ache.
"A little. I think I'm going to get sick again" she says running to the bathroom. Sam quickly follows after her to hold her hair and put a cold towel on her neck.
"I hate seeing you like this... what else can I do?" He says
"Nothing! You can't do anything!" She snaps
"I'm just trying to help..."
"Well you're getting annoying! You aren't helping." She hisses
Sam just holds her hair back and with the other hand holds the cold towel to her neck.
"Just leave! So you don't have to see this!" She yells
"No it's okay-"
"- no, leave!" She says
Sam gets up and she slams the door behind him.
As he walks out of the room to get some ginger ale for Jessica, Ann and Madison walk in with all kinds of things.
"I thought you guys were only getting crackers and more ginger ale?" Sam chuckles
"Well, Madison did some reading and we got more than expected! A big yoga ball to move her hips around, some pregnancy tea or whatever, and hmmm, I think I'm missing something." Ann says looking around
"The pregnancy pillow, babe." Madison says
"Wow... that's a lot but I don't know if she's up for... anything."
"We heard her yelling from down the hall! Poor Sam...." Ann says giving him a hug
"What? I understand her pain but she's just."
"Mean?" Ann chuckles "yeah, just like my mom to my dad when she was pregnant with George..." Ann winks
"Don't worry... she's just going through it. Stay strong, it only gets worse." Madison giggles, teasing Sam.
"Well, I'll go get her."
Sam walks back into the room to see Jessica crying on the bathroom floor.
"Baby? What's wrong!" He says
"I'm sorry... I'm being terrible." She cries
"No, baby. You're not... I can't imagine what Jodie going through. But I thank you for it because there's a baby coming from all this."
"You forgive me?"
"I was never mad." He says
"Okay..." she sniffles
"Ann and Madison got all kinds of cool stuff! They are blowing up this big ball for you!" He says with excitement
"Alright."
Sam stands up and looks down at Jessica who was crying again.
"Honey?" He says
"I also can't get up on my own in this small bathroom... I need help." She cries with a small giggle at the end.
"Haha, come here!" He says helping her up.
