the child prodigy.

_____________

If there are stories that Austen Emilia Greyson would ever think of while growing up, the most fondest memory she had is when she's with her grandmother, Emma Brown-Middleton. For her, childhood isn't friendly to her and those fragments of memories to which normalcy is not what the Greyson household is familiar with. You see, having a renowned father in the field of Astrophysics, specifically one of the known astrophysicists in NASA and a mother who is a Math professor in a prestigious university would let everybody think that their children should be similar to them.

A weighty responsibility for both Conrad and Austen. There isn't much about the sibling relationship to the two children of Emily and Jonah, in fact, Austen sees her brother as an acquaintance. Aside from having a cold relationship with her brother, there isn't much interesting about her familial relationship with both of her parents.

Or maybe, it's a known fact for her that her parents did favor Conrad more rather than her. She even heard her mother telling her grandmother why she's a rather difficult child. Something that Austen thought about while growing up.

Amidst the shitty household that Austen despises, she only confides to her grandmother. The only place where she feels home.

Emilia, her mother thought that she's slacking enough on her academics because her mother isn't strict to Austen while she always visits her grandmother. Aside from the perks of not doing homeworks, the girl got the chance to play in the backyard. At least in some moments where she stayed with her grandmother, she got the taste of being a normal child.

Her grandmother would tell this story about her deceased brother who made an actual time machine. In her childhood, she believed in her grand-uncle. Austen was obsessed with time traveling and stories of her grandmother flooded in her mind. After all these years, right in front of Austen was the DeLorean that her mother would tell her right after she slept. It was incredible and unbelievable at the same time; she slowly walked to the DeLorean. Her parents told her to stop believing about the time machine; he even told that the side of the Brown family was mental so they insisted that the time machine is not true,

Austen felt terrible that her grandmother received a lot of mockery from her parents but she felt guilty that she also stopped believing in her grandmother.

The car is very dusty, evident that the car is hidden perfectly well and of course throughout the years of being undisturbed, some parts of the car are rusty but Austen is baffled how the DeLorean is in this garage. The time her uncle died, her grandmother told her that the DeLorean had vanished even from his companion, Marty Mcfly.

"The poor young man also vanished at that time. Lorraine and George separated when their son was lost."

Austen knew that time-traveling had several consequences, leaving their loved ones or the human existence would be erased forever. Her grandma missed her uncle dreadfully, the fact that they are the only children of the Brown family. Austen opened the door of the car; she sat in the car and looked around. She tried to open the engine and to her big surprise, the car suddenly turned on.

She read the date; it was October 26, 1985. The same date when her grand-uncle died and Marty Mcfly vanished. All of a sudden, the car door closed automatically. Austen tried to open the car, she screamed for help and she tried to open the door but it was locked. Austen panicked on what was going on.

"What the hell!" She said.

Austen doesn't know how she will get out of this car. Her grandmother was right, the DeLorean is cursed. Austen looks for her phone, Conrad is just outside the garage, he can get her out of this car but while she is searching for her phone inside her pockets.

"Shit, it's inside Conrad's car!" She said in a frustrated tone.

Austen looked around the car to see if there was anything that would help her to get out but all she could find was a jacket and cap.

She screamed her brother's name but her efforts were futile.

"Damn it, Austen. You are stuck in a freaking car! Brilliant!" She said to herself as she tried to click some buttons.

Then the DeLorean started, Austen grabbed the steering wheel and she couldn't hear herself screaming anymore as the car broke the front door of the garage. She saw her brother flabbergasted and it also scraped his new car.

The DeLorean was so fast that Austen couldn't control it anymore. Pedestrians almost got hit by the DeLorean while Austen kept apologizing as she tries to control the wheel, and odd for her that it seems the DeLorean has its mind of it's own. She could also hear police cars, calling her to stop the car but Austen knew that she couldn't.

"This is a very big problem." She said while she tightly gripped her hands on the wheel, also, her dear life.

The DeLorean passed through a tunnel, and Austen can hear the sirens of the police cars. She had no choice but to step on the gas, she knew this was one of her gravest mistakes but being in jail was out of the question. Her mind was bombarded with her upcoming graduation at her university. She isn't much of a great driver but then, she hopes that the police might not catch her.

The speedometer was getting higher as Austen tried to avoid the police cars. Then as the meter is in 70, she could hear something in the car but she is a lot more preoccupied with hitting the gas again, she wanted to get away from the police. She didn't notice that her speed accelerated to 88 when she was about to look at the meter, a car was approaching her.

Austen screamed in bloody murder and quickly turned the wheel on the other way. She was relieved that she didn't hit the car. When everything was about to be well and thinking of going back to the garage, the DeLorean suddenly stopped.

"Oh come on!" Austen blurted out.

She went outside and looked around; the police were no longer in sight. It was night time in Hill Valley and she was on the road where the forest is just beside the road. Austen hoped that there would be a car and of course, she needed to call her brother to pick her up.

Austen sighed, good thing that she is wearing her thick hoodie. She can't believe that Hill Valley is cold in May. All of a sudden from afar, a certain car was approaching her. The car stopped in front of her, it was an old woman.

"What are you doing in here at night, deary?" The old woman asked her in a soft tone.

"My car broke and I need to call my brother to help me," Austen said.

"I have a phone in my house, just remember where you will leave your car."

Austen smiled then the old woman let her get inside her car. It was a blue convertible.

"It is rather chilly in May," Austen said.

The old woman suddenly laughed which made her confused.

"Deary, it is October, not May."

Austen was speechless, she could feel sweat on her forehead and her hands were suddenly shaking. October? Then it dawned on her as she remembered the time in the DeLorean.

Austen couldn't believe it; she is in the year 1985
