Nya's POV

"Oh, hey, you're back!" Kai beams at me and beckons me over. I join him on the couch where he's busy watching Days of Our Lives.

"You just missed Drake Ramoray's death scene," he tells me, "but how's the project going?"

I shrug, "Oh, it's...it's going, yeah. We have to proof it, but we've stablised the metal, painted the exteriors, made out in his pool, wired the interiors-" I gulp as my brother cuts me off.

"Hold up." Kai paused the show before slowly turning to me with wide eyes, "You and Jay..."

"Wired the interiors?"

"No, before that."

"P-Painted the exteriors?" Yup. I was so gonna die today.

"You and Jay...made out in his pool?"

"Yup. Yeah. Yes. Yes, we did."

Kai is silent, possibly taking in the news. The silence is deafening. At long last he turns to me, asking me the most hypocritical question known to man...or to Kai, at least. "Don't you think you're moving on too fast?"

"You're one to talk!"

"Ouch! But seriously, you just got out of a long-term relationship, and you're already jumping into the deep end with Jay."

"It was just a kiss! It's not like I'm sleeping with him or anything!"

"So...what are you guys then? Dating, secret lovers, or is it just an on-the-side sorta thing?"

"I don't know," I mumble, "We'll figure it out tomorrow. How does Ramoray die?"

"Fell down an elevator shaft."

"Eeesh."

"Hold on...are you using Jay to get back at Lloyd!?"

"What?! Kai, I don't stoop that low!"

"Alright, alright, just checking. I will get to meet him, won't I?"

"You guys are in the same year, at the same uni, I'm sure you'll have a fun time getting to know him."

"Sure sure, just promise me one thing."

"Yeah?"

Kai wrapped his arms around me, kissing the top of my head, "Just don't get hurt."

"I mean-"

"Yes, I'm aware of the Lloyd situation and believe me, I am furious at him. You just...be safe, okay?"

"I will." We do our special clasp, one we've had since we were little, and Kai resumes the show.
