Chapter 4 : Lucifer's Mistress
In the abandoned corridor of my heart,
you footsteps still echo late at night
A/n's POV
As Taehyung walked through the bustling streets of Canada, he breathed in the crisp air, hoping it would calm the storm in his mind. It had been eight long years since he'd felt anything but cold indifference. But today, something was different. His heart pounded in his chest, an unfamiliar sensation that both frightened and thrilled him.
He crossed the road with the crowd, wanting to explore more of his surroundings, to get a feel of this foreign land. But as he stepped onto the other side, his heart suddenly lurched.
"Y/N," he whispered, the name slipping from his lips like a prayer, laden with longing and pain. His usually sharp eyes softened as they scanned the crowd, searching desperately for a glimpse of her.
Memories flooded his mind-memories of laughter, of shared dreams, and of a love that once burned so brightly. But then came the darker memories, the ones that haunted his nights. The betrayal, the anger, and the unbearable loss. He shook his head, trying to clear the thoughts, but the pounding in his chest wouldn't stop as he turned to the side. looking for her.
**Taehyung's POV:**
_"This feeling... it's impossible. After all these years? My heart, which has been numb for so long, is suddenly alive again. Y/N... are you here? Are you really here?"_
A/n's POV
Just as he turned back towards the street, the blaring horns and shouts of pedestrians caught his attention. A woman and child were hurrying across the road, and for a moment, he thought he saw her-Y/N. His breath caught in his throat, but when he looked closer to her back, it was just a stranger.
_"Damn it,"_ he cursed under his breath, scanning the crowd again, his desperation growing.
His phone buzzed in his pocket, pulling him out of his trance. He fumbled to answer it, still searching the crowd, his heart refusing to calm down.
"Hello, Taehyung!" Namjoon's voice came through the line, breaking through the fog in his mind.
"Huh, yes, hyung?" Taehyung replied, his voice distant, as if he were speaking from another world.
"Where are you? We're getting late. Remember, we have to visit the Canadian mafia to talk about Y/N and the Part Ji Sung matter," Namjoon reminded him, his tone firm yet understanding.
Taehyung's eyes darted one last time across the crowd, the hope slowly draining from his body. He sighed heavily, the weight of reality settling back on his shoulders.
"I'm coming in 10 minutes... just need to grab something to eat," Taehyung muttered, his voice hollow, eyes still scanning the area.
"Alright, but hurry up," Namjoon said before hanging up.
As he began to walk away, a familiar feeling tugged at him. He stopped and glanced back, the strange sensation washing over him again. He didn't see her, but he felt her presence. It was almost tangible, like she was just out of reach, slipping through his fingers like sand. He sighed and left with the crowd.
On the other side of the street, Y/N turned around, her heart racing in her chest. She felt it too-that undeniable, unexplainable feeling. The presence of someone she thought she'd never see again.

Present
Taehyung entered the Canadian mafia mansion, the heavy oak doors closing behind him with a thud.
The guard bowed respectfully, leading him through the grand hallways towards the private room.
Taehyung's expression was unreadable, his eyes cold as ice, as he followed in silence.
Upon entering the private hall, the Canadian mafia leader stood, a broad smile on his face. "V, welcome to my mansion. It's a pleasure to have you here, sir," he said, patting Taehyung's back in a gesture of camaraderie.
Taehyung nodded curtly, sitting down on the plush leather sofa opposite the leader.
As the Canadian mafia leader poured him a drink, Taehyung accepted it with a slight tilt of his head.
His gaze was sharp, but he remained calm as he spoke, "I'm here to find Park Ji Sung. He fled Korea before I could get my hands on him, and I have reason to believe he's here, planning something against someone dear to me. I need your permission to handle this on your land."
The Canadian mafia leader nodded, his expression serious now. "You have my full support, King V. Consider this territory as your own. You don't need to ask for permission, you are a king; do whatever you must."
Taehyung nodded in acknowledgment. The leader gestured to a guard, who immediately bowed and left the room. A moment later, the door opened, and Vincenzo, the leader's top guard, stepped inside.
He bowed before Taehyung, "King V, it's an honor to meet you., I will be assisting you from today in your mission."
Taehyung appraised Vincenzo with a single glance, his nod of approval subtle but noticeable. " I want no traces left behind-no police interference, no evidence," Taehyung instructed.
Vincenzo bowed deeply. "Understood, sir."
Just then, the door swung open again, and a woman entered, her presence commanding attention. She was dressed in a tight, short revealing dress. Her lips carring a slutty smirk, matching the fire in her cat eyes. She moved with deliberate slowness, her hips swaying seductively as she approached.
Her gaze locked onto Taehyung, her lips curving into a smirk. She was clearly captivated by the man before her, his cold demeanor only adding to his allure. "Honey, who is this handsome man?" she asked, ignoring Lucifer's presence as her eyes roved over Taehyung's form.
"Darling, he is the king of the mafia world-King V," Canadian mafia responded, slightly amused by her boldness.
Her smirk widened as she walked towards him and extended her hand. "Carolin, lucifer's girlfriend" she introduced herself, her voice dripping with flirtation.
Lucifer is married but has a mistress named Carolin who is 25 years younger than him.(Yes yes, a sugar daddy 🌚) She is nothing but a gold digger and a slut, who can spread her legs just for money.
Back to the story
Taehyung's gaze flickered to her hand, then back to her face. He shook her hand, his touch cold and impersonal. "V," he said simply, his voice deep and.
A shiver ran down Carolin's spine at the sound of his voice. She squeezed his hand, leaning in slightly, "I can think of a few places I'd like to hear your deep voice beg." she whispered, her eyes filled with lust.
Taehyung released her hand without a word, standing up as he buttoned his coat. "Thank you for your cooperation," he said, addressing the Canadian mafia leader with a slight nod. "I'll take my leave now."
"Why the rush, King V? Stay for dinner," Carolin interjected, her tone bold as she tried to entice him, her body leaning forward to show off her cleavage.
Taehyung didn't spare her a second glance. "I have more important matters to attend to," he replied coldly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
With a final nod to the Canadian mafia leader, Taehyung turned and walked out of the room. Carolin watched him go, a smirk playing on her lips. "Mafia King, huh? Interesting," she murmured to herself, her eyes gleaming with newfound interest.

Detective Yoongi was sitting at his cluttered desk, sifting through a stack of unsolved case files, with a cigar burning in one hand, he took a drag when his young intern, Yeonjun, hurried over. The intern's face was slightly pale, his hands gripping a report tightly.
"Detective Yoongi," Yeonjun began, his voice carrying a note of urgency, " We've received some information about a high-profile individual. A mafia king from Korea, goes by the name 'V,' has recently arrived in Canada."
Yoongi didn't react. He kept his eyes on the file in front of him, but his mind was already turning over the new information. After a moment, he looked up, his gaze sharp.
"King V?" he echoed, his tone casual yet edged with interest. "He's a big name in the underworld. And no one has seen him. What's he doing here?"
Yeonjun swallowed, the weight of the situation not lost on him. "According to our sources, he's here on urgent business."
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing slightly as took another drag.
The room felt heavier with the knowledge that one of the world's most dangerous men was now in Canada. Yoongi's fingers drummed on the armrest of his chair as he thought.
Finally, he spoke, his voice firm. "For now, we play it cool. V's not here for us, and as long as he sticks to his business and doesn't cause trouble on our turf, we let him be. But..." He paused, his eyes meeting Yeonjun's. "We monitor him closely. The moment he steps out of line, we'll be ready."
Yeonjun nodded, his respect for Yoongi evident in his eyes. "Understood, Detective. I'll alert the surveillance team to keep tabs on him."
Yoongi gave a nod, already turning his attention back to the paperwork on his desk. But his mind was far from the cases in front of him.
He knew a figure like King V wouldn't stay quiet for long. Canada was about to become the stage for a dangerous game, and Yoongi was determined to stay ahead of it.
As Yeonjun walked away to carry out his orders, Yoongi couldn't shake the feeling that something big was on the horizon. He'd dealt with dangerous criminals before, but a mafia king was a different breed altogether. And if V was here, it meant trouble was sure to follow.
Yoongi's eyes flicked to the board on the wall, where photos of various criminals and ongoing cases were pinned. He grabbed a marker and added a new name to the list: **King V**.
The detective's gut told him this was the beginning of something that could either make or break his career.
"Let's see what you've got, King V," Yoongi muttered under his breath, determination hardening his gaze as he returned to his work.

At night
Y/N sat quietly on the balcony sofa, her eyes fixed on the sky. Two stars shone brightly above, drawing a small smile to her lips. It was her routine-a ritual she followed whenever the weight of missing her parents became too heavy. The balcony offered her a clear view of the sky, and somehow, the stars representing her parents always seemed to be there when she needed them.
She gazed at the twinkling lights, her smile soft. "Mom, Dad, are you well up there?" she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "I know... it's been a while since I've talked to you like this. Your little devil granddaughter keeps me so busy." Her tone was playful, but her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
Y/N chuckled lightly, imagining her mother's reaction. "Mom, you'd probably scold me for calling her that, wouldn't you? But she is a little devil... in the most lovable way." She paused, her smile fading as a heavy sigh escaped her lips. "Are you both okay?......... Me? No, I'm not."
Her voice broke as she lowered her head, her hands trembling slightly. "Today... I saw Taehyung . He appeared in the crowd, and I thought it was just my illusion-like always. So I didn't look back." She wiped a tear from her cheek, only for more to follow. "But the pain... it spread through me all over my body and I had to look back. And there he was, not just in the crowd, but still in my heart, despite everything he's done."
The tears flowed freely now, unstoppable as she tried to wipe them away with trembling hands. "But don't worry," she whispered to the stars, her voice cracking. "I'll be okay. It's just my mind playing tricks on me... I'll move on. It'll just take time. You know how strong I am, right?"
She smiled through her tears, looking up at the stars once more. The sight of them brought a fragile sense of peace to her troubled heart. Even in her sorrow, she knew she wasn't alone. Her parents were still watching over her, giving her the strength to face whatever came next.
As Y/N stood on her balcony, gazing up at the sky with a gentle smile, she heard a soft, sweet voice behind her. "Mummy?"
She turned to see Sen, her little girl, standing there, rubbing her sleepy eyes. Sen tried to climb onto Y/N's lap but struggled, so Y/N lifted her and settled her comfortably.
"Mummy, what are you doing? Talking to Grandma and Grandpa again?" Sen asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Y/N hummed in response, hugging Sen's small, warm body close.
"Why do they only talk to you and not to me?" Sen pouted, her lips curling in a way that always made Y/N's heart melt.
"They don't talk to you?" Y/N asked, pretending to be surprised. When Sen shook her head, Y/N smiled softly. "Why don't you ask them if they love you? If the stars shine, that means yes."
Sen looked at her mother, confused but intrigued. "Try?" Y/N encouraged, nodding towards the sky.
Sen turned her gaze to the stars and asked, "Grandma, Grandpa, do you love me?"
Just then, the stars twinkled brighter, making Sen gasp in delight. "Mamma, look! They're shining! That means they love me!"
Y/N smiled, watching her daughter's excitement. Sen, now emboldened, asked again, "Do you both love Mummy too?"
This time, the stars didn't shine, and Sen burst into laughter. "Look, Mummy! They don't love you!" she teased, giggling uncontrollably.
Y/N playfully glared at her daughter before scooping her up. "Okay, okay, they only love you. But now it's time for bed. You have school tomorrow, remember?"
Sen's laughter faded as Y/N tucked her into bed, pulling the duvet snugly around them. Sen turned to face her mother, her expression soft and serious. She reached up with her small hands, gently grabbing Y/N's cheeks.
"Mummy, you cried, didn't you?" Sen's voice was tender, her eyes full of concern.
Y/N froze for a moment, caught off guard by her daughter's perceptiveness. Before she could respond, Sen continued, "Don't lie, please don't cry. I'll give you my chocolate that I hid from Uncle Meow."
Y/N's heart ached at Sen's innocent kindness. She managed a smile, but her eyes were filled with a deep, hidden pain when Sen leaned in and kissed her forehead, the gesture so similar of how Taehyung used to comfort her.
Sen smiled, satisfied, and snuggled into Y/N's arms, quickly falling asleep. But Y/N lay awake, her mind heavy with memories. Sen was so much like Taehyung-her mischief, her mannerisms, even the way she expressed her love. No matter how hard Y/N tried to move on, Sen was a constant reminder of the man she once loved and lost.
Tears slipped down Y/N's cheeks as she hugged Sen tightly, seeking solace in her daughter's warmth. "If only you knew we had a daughter, Taehyung," she whispered to the night. "But it's better this way. I have to protect her from a devil like you."
With those thoughts lingering in her mind, Y/N finally closed her eyes, holding Sen close as they drifted off to sleep together.
