Chapter: 4
"Dear family and friends, we have come together today to celebrate and witness the union of Adam Williams and Hannah Prescott in the sacred bond of marriage. They have decided to live their lives as husband and wife, and embark on the journey of friendship and love."
The wedding ceremony has started while neither I or Adam can wipe off the smile from our faces. Until now I waited for the anxiety to set in, but it never came. Seeing Adam I believe even he is enjoying these special and important moments of our life without any kind of fear for the future.
When we hear a loud clearing of the throat, we both start laughing but don't tear our gaze from each other. There is a silent staring competition going on between me and Adam, and from his smirk, I am sure he is not ready to back out just like me.
Narrowing my eyes, I pout as tears gather in my eyes. Even Adam is biting inside of his cheeks trying hard not to blink. Again the officiant clears his throat but again he is unsuccessful to end our staring game.
"Blink Adam, you can't win from me." I smile as I watch him struggle while his smile is still present on his face.
"How can I blink when you are looking so stunning?" He teases raising his eyebrows.
"Thank you, but your words will not help you in winning." A tear slips from my eye, as I control the urge to blink my eyes.
He shakes his head and blinks and wipes the tear from my cheek.
"I promised, your dad, I will never bring tears in your eyes and I mean to keep that promise. So you win Hannah." A fond smile graces his lips then he lightly chuckles.
"What are you waiting for? Get me married to this man before someone else takes him." Turning to the officiant, I gesture him to start the wedding. Everyone starts to laugh, along with me and Adam.
"So, now when the important staring competition has been won by the bride, let's proceed with the wedding." The wedding officiant rolls his eyes, mockingly.
"Do you Hannah Catherine Prescott, take Adam Brian Williams to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish... from this day forward until death do you part?"
"I do!" Holding Adam's hand, I smile already looking forward to my future with him.
The officiant then turns to Adam.
"Do you Adam Brian Williams, take Hannah Catherine Prescott to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish... from this day forward until death do you part?"
"I do!" He nods, never looking away from my eyes like he is silently promising me that he means to keep every promise he has made.
"Please bring the wedding rings."
Adam's ten years old nephew brings the ring, looking at the ground shyly, slightly nervous with all the attention he is getting.
"Thank you, Chris." Adam lovingly pats his head, "You did great." Adam's words make him relaxed as he gives us a wide proud grin.
His cheeks become red when I kiss him on his cheek.
Awww...
The officiant takes the rings from Chris and places them in our hands.
"Now you may exchange the rings."
"With this ring, I accept you not only as my wife but also as my life long best friend." He slips the ring in my ring finger then bringing my hand near to his mouth he kisses my hand.
"With this ring, I accept you as my husband and my best friend. And I also declare very proudly that this man is now off the market." I put the ring in his finger and locking our finger I turn to face everyone. Raising our intertwined hands, I point to his ring, showing everyone.
Every one claps loudly, while Natalie and Abigail stand on the chairs and dance. Mom is too happy, to scold them but knowing my mom she will be having a private moment with them later.
Everyone settles down and again we turn to face each other to wait for the officiant say the words which we are waiting for.
"And now, by the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you as husband and wife."
"Now you may continue with your staring competition." The officiant shrugs playfully.
Adam snaps his head and glares at the officiant making me laugh. The officiant deliberately ignores him looking here and there. Adam arches his eyebrow at him when he looks back at him.
"Okay... okay." The officiant laughs.
"Now you may kiss the bride."
"Finally!" Adams mutter as he chuckles.
"Go for a tongue kiss!" Natalie yells which cause some people to gasp horrifyingly while I can practically sense mom shaking her head at her.
"Ew! I don't want to see my sister's hot make-out session. Do the dirty behind the door." Abigail interrupts.
"Welcome to the family." I laugh looking back at Adam's amused expression.
Adam and I turn to look at them, just in time, to witness mom dragging them away while holding their ears.
"Mom you are embarrassing us," Abigail complains trying to pry mom's hand from her ear.
"Good, now you will experience what I go through half of the time because of your smart-mouth." Mom glares at them.
But when they both give her puppy eyes, she sighs loudly leaving their ears. Both of them squeals happily and run back to their seats.
"So, now before we get interrupted again..." Adam smiles and trails off.
Leaning forward he brushes his lips against mine then caresses my lips with his in a soft and gentle kiss. I smile into the kiss, feeling genuinely happy.
Loud cheers erupt as we part away.
"Family and friends, I present to you for the first time, the newlyweds, Adam Williams, and Hannah Williams."
"Are you ready to begin this new journey with me?" Adam smiles at me. He pulls me to his side, wrapping an arm around my waist.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
My heart swells with happiness looking at this man who is now my husband.
