It All Started With A Shayri!

Hello!

"Kabhi kabhi aaya krta h vo rulane,

Apni mohabbat ka mujhko ehsaas dilane,

Manzil ni vo rasta hai mera,

Na jane kitna arsa lgega iss dil ko smjhane. "

The applauses echoed in the room as I finished the narration and I got up from the chair to leave, with a small smile on my face.

"You are born for this Sanyukta, trust me. " Abrahim's words made me smile a bit wider as I shook my head at him.

"You just want me here permanently." I said and he grinned.

"Of course, that would be amazing for my place. People love your shayris and if you stay here permanently, I'll get more visitors. " He said and I rolled my eyes.

"This is not something I can do daily. It's an art Abrahim, not a 9 to 5 cooperate job that can be done on daily basis. " I told him taking my blazer from Mayra, my assistant and wearing it.

"Fine, fine, now sit down and enjoy the show for a while. " He said and I gave him a nod before taking my seat.

"After the beautiful shayri narrated by the one and only Sanyukta Agrawal, I would like to call Mr. Randhir Singh Shekhawat upon the stage, to mesmerise us with his words, like always. " The host announced and the public including me, began the applauses.

A guy who looked around my age came and sat on the chair in the center of the stage.

He gave his greetings to the audience and took this time to take a note of his features. He owned a really handsome face and the calmness he held, was enough to let people know about how strong his aura was. His presence screamed important and the serene smile on his face depicted how content he was.

But the thing that captured my attention the most were his expressive eyes, they had a shine you don't find in the eyes of men of his age usually. They were literally gorgeous and I was mesmerized by them.

"Mohabbat krna fitrat h, iss dil diwane ki," He began and my attention shifted to his words.

"Ishq mein jee kr marna hi, kismat hai is dilwale ki,

Jo ishq mukammal na hua, uska bhi kya malal kre,

Akhir parwane ki to adat h, apne ishq mei hi jal jane ki." He ended and applauds filled the room.

I couldn't help but appreciate his presentation and choice of words.

He stepped down after thanking the audience and I got up to leave as well.

"Sanyukta wait. " Abrahim's voice made me halt and turn to his direction.

"What is it? " I asked and he grinned.

"There's someone I want you to meet. " He said and looked back.

Soon enough, Randhir was standing in front of me with that smile never leaving his face.

"So Sanyukta this is Randhir Singh Shekhawat, India's one of the best neurologists. And Randhir this is Sanyukta, the woman entrepreneur of the year. " Abrahim introduced us and he gave me a nod.

"Dimag thik krne wale, khud dil ki baaton mei fasa kr dimag kharab kr rhe h? " I asked with a smile and the smile on his face grew bigger.

"Dimag kharab honge tbhi to thik krne ka mauka milega." He joked with a wink causing me to chuckle.

"Waah, marz bhi khud denge aur dawa bhi." I said and he shrugged.

"Ab ye paapi pet jo na krwae. " He said faking sadness and I chuckled again.

"Vaise aapne kuch cardiologists ka bhi bhala kr diya h. " I told him with a mischievous smile and he frowned.

"Vo kaise? " He asked and I signalled behind him.

He turned to find some girls peeking at him from behind the wall.

"Dimag ka to ni pta pr kuch dil jaroor kaabu se bahar hue h aaj ki aapki shayari ke baad." I told him and he looked at me again.

"Ab ye to plan ni kiya tha, aur isse to koi fayda bhi ni. " He said causing me to frown.

"Kyu? " I asked and he looked down.

"Jiske dil ko kaabu mei krna h, uska abhi tk bekabu hua ni. " After completing his sentence he looked at me and I felt some churning inside my stomach due to excitement.

Before I could ask any questions, his phone rang and he excused himself.

"He's interested in you. " I jumped a bit as I heard Abrahim's voice.

"What do you mean? " I asked looking at Randhir who was talking on the call.

"Two months back, when you narrated, he was there in the audience and was quite impressed. He's been asking me about you since then and today finally I brought him to you. " Abrahim said grinning and I looked at him in disbelief.

"Really? And why didn't you tell me? " I asked my eyebrows and he bit his tongue.

"You were too busy. Anyways, I think you should give it a try. You both are quite similar. " He proposed.

"And why do you think so? " I asked crossing my arms.

"I mean, for example you both don't have any actual pain but you know how to depict it really well. You both are ambitious and at the same time the most caring people I've ever met. Just give it a try okay, it's no harm. " He said and I took a deep breath.

I felt a pull towards Randhir and there was no denying to it, so why not actually give it a try?

Randhir soon came back and I looked at Abrahim to find him grinning at us.

"So Sanyukta, I wanted to ask if you are free tomorrow evening ? " He asked and I gave him a nod.

"Great, so do you mind having a coffee with me? " He was a bit hesitant but when I smiled, his hesitation vanished completely.

"Not at all." I told him and a grin crept on his lips.

.*.*.*.

"Kya aapko ye nikah qubool h? " The kaaji asked.

"Qubool h. " Abrahim replied causing me to grin.

"Qubool h. " I jumped a bit in surprise as I heard a whisper near my ears.

"Randhir. " I hissed looking at him as he hugged me from behind.

"What? " He asked and I shook my head.

"Aaj se aap dono shauhar aur biwi karar kiye jate h. " The Kaazi announced and I clapped along with Randhir.

Abrahim and his long term girlfriend Shazia got married today and me and Randhir were more than happy for them. After all, Abrahim was the cupid of our story.

After that coffee date, the dates never stopped and it's been already four years that we are together.

"Sanyukta. " I heard Randhir calling my name and looked at him with a smile on my face.

"Hmm? " I hummed and he kissed my neck.

"I love you. " He expressed causing me to grin.

"I love you too Dr. Shekhawat. " I replied and he connected his forehead with mine.

It all started with a shayri and I don't see it ending anytime soon. And if you ask me, I'd say that I never ever want it to end.

How was it????

Don't forget to vote comment and share.

Also I'm thinking of creating a book of my shayris cause I write a lot of them, as you already know, so how many of you support this idea?

Love
Aashi😘
