Prologue Part 2

Your POV:

I placed the my thumb on the tip of my chin, making some sort of thinking position. I was retracing my steps from where I woke up, to where I was now.

'C'mon (y/n)... think... was there anyone else on the second floor?' I thought.

Rantaro's POV:

I looked at (y/n). She looked like she was lost in thought about something. It seemed like she was trying to remember something.

"(y/n). Whatcha thinking about?" I asked, trying to get her attention.

When I said that, she seemed to jump a little, snapping out of her trance. I thought it was kinda cute. There was no way I was going to tell her that though.

"I was just trying to remember if there was anyone else on the second floor," she replied.
"If you're so concerned about it, then why don't we go check the second floor," I recommended.

She didn't say anything after that. She gave me a solid nod though. I started walking to the direction of the staircase to the second floor. She followed behind me, not saying a word the entire time.

We got to the second floor. I noticed there was someone up there. It was Tsumugi Shirogane, the Ultimate Cosplayer. I've talked to pretty much everyone. Tsumugi was standing near a bronze dragon statue. It seemed like it was missing something.

"So there is someone up here!" (y/n) exclaimed.
"I guess there is," I replied.

I witnessed (y/n) go up near her.

Your POV:

'There is someone up here!' I thought.

I approached the girl. She had long curly blue hair. The shade of blue was almost that of a dark turquoise. Her eyes were a nice shade of gray. She wore glasses. She had some sort of black school uniform jacket on. She had a white and black school dress underneath it. The white went to her sleeves to under her bust. The black went from where the white ended, to the bottom of the dress. She had an orange bow on her neck collar. She had long black socks, and black school dress shoes on. She seemed to be lost in thought.

"Umm..." she said.
"Hey, you're an Ultimate student, right? Can we talk—" I said, being interrupted.
"Ummmn..." the girl replied.

I looked at her. She still was lost in thought. This put one bold thought through my head.

'Hm? Did she not hear me? Ok, then...' I thought.

"Heeey! Hellooooo!" I shouted, trying to get her attention.
"Ummmmmm..." the girl replied once again.
"What? She still can't hear me? Maybe she's a really detailed mannequin?" I said in confusion.

Rantaro let out a slight chuckle. It's like he found this amusing.

"Aah, haha that is definitely no mannequin," Rantaro told me.

I decided to take the next course of action. I poked her shoulder.

"Umm.." the girl once again said.
"Poking her doesn't work either? Then...maybe she is just a doll." I said seriously.

Rantaro started chuckling again.

"She isn't a doll." Rantaro told me.

I then poked her other shoulder to see if I'd get a reaction.

"I never thought I'd be poked from both sides. How truly unexpected," the girl said.
"So she wasn't a mannequin. I knew that," I said.
"Obviously not since you thought she was a doll," Rantaro replied.
"Because she wasn't responding," I said.

The girl timidly looked to the side. It seemed that this girl was pretty shy.

"Oh, I didn't mean any harm... I was just deep in thought," the girl said, "so I thought if I ignored you, you'd go somewhere else."
"You were ignoring us? Isn't that a bit rude?" I asked.

The girl then looked at me. She wasn't looking to the side anymore. The look she gave me still looked pretty innocent though.

"Umm, well isn't it rude to force someone to talk when they don't want to?" she asked, "oh, but it's fine. I feel like talking now."

She gave a very bright smile. This wasn't the same person from before.

'Maybe she's more cheerful when she's in the mood to be.' I thought.

"Now, let's talk. What do to want to start with? My favorite Doraemon episode is #53. The one with security cameras and target practice," the girl exclaimed.

My eyes widened slightly. A bright smile formed on my lips. I knew right then, right there, this girl and I would be good friends.

"Please tell me that you've watched Full Metal Alchemist!" I exclaimed.
"Who hasn't watched Full Metal Alchemist? It's amazing! I absolutely love how the symbol is on your choker!" the girl fangirls.
"I like it too. So anyway. I don't know what your name is. Would you please introduce yourself?" I requested.

The girl gave me a nice smile accompanied with her right hand on her hip, and her left hand to the side.

"Oh, my name is Tsumugi Shirogane. I'm the Ultimate Cosplayer," the girl known as Tsumugi said.
"Now I see. You're a cosplayer. No wonder you're an anime fan," I commented with a smile.
"Are you...surprised? I get that a lot, since I'm so plain," Tsumugi replied.
"I mean it does make sense. You have a very strange, almost sexy aura about you. Most cosplayers cosplay anything ranging from alchemists from Full Metal Alchemists, to vampires from Rosario Vampire," I explained.
"Normally, I don't really like people looking at me like that... I just make cosplay. I'm fine with others wearing them... But lately, more cosplayers are putting themselves before their characters. I'd rather wear my outfits myself, with love, than give them to people like that," Tsumugi explained.
"That's pretty intense..." I commented.
"It makes me happy when I get to show people the outfits I've made. And thanks to my sponsors, I can use materials that are just plain expensive," Tsumugi once again explained.
"Ohhh! Well, of course the Ultimate Cosplayer would have sponsors. I have sponsors for getting anime, and making cosplay," I replied.

Tsumugi gave me a look of confusion. I nervously laughed.

"Oh yeah. I havent introduced myself to you. I'm (y/n) (l/n), the Ultimate Otaku. I don't really see it as a talent though," I explained.
"Now I get it. I can't believe there's another anime nerd!" Tsumugi replied,
"because of my sponsors, people just crowd around like I'm a panda at the zoo,"
"That means you're like a celebrity!" I exclaimed.
"I hate to break the talk, but Tsumugi, what were you thinking about?" Rantaro asked.
"Ah...that bronze dragon statue over there. I'm just plain curious about it. It almost seems like it's floating, right? Doesn't it look pretty out of place?" Tsumugi explained.
"Now that you mention it...you're right. It's sorta bothers me, too," I replied.
"This is a school, right? But everything here is so weird, isn't it?" Tsumugi asked, "there's trees and grass growing inside, I can't find any exits...and it seems like we're the only people here... are we... going to be okay? Are we going to be able to get out?"

I looked at her and smiled. It was a nice reassuring smile.

"We will find a way," I replied.
"You seem a bit optimistic," Tsumugi commented.
"Well, people do say I'm carefree, however part of it is an act. I'm scared too," I replied.
"I guess so. Being depressed won't help anything," Tsumugi said.
"Tsumugi I'll talk to you later. I need to meet more people," I said.
"Talk to you later (y/n)," she replied.

I walked down the hall to the stairs again. Rantaro was walking with me, staying a bit silent. We walked down the same hall where we met. The only different thing was where we were going. We noticed a brown wooden door that read "Dining Hall". I wanted to see if anyone was in there, so I lead the way.

I opened the wooden brown doors. The room has a shiny beige floor. The walls weren't shiny but had the same color. There was still vegetation in the room. In the center of the room, there was 17 chairs and a long table. I noticed two people in the room. The one on my left had a sailor type school outfit on that was a bit darker then your standard baby blue. There was a white bow in the middle of the bust. There was a white and blue collar as well. White buttons went from the bottom of the bust, to the side of bottom of the shirt. It was a crop top as well. She has a frilly blue skirt. She also had socks and sandals. Her hair was a dark brown that had two large loose braids. She had a weird green flowered bow in her hair. She had smaller white bows that kept her braids in place. She had a purple headband with some sort of pink star thing on it. Her eyes were an olive green. The last article of clothing was a pink choker with a cat bell on it. She was in sort of a karate position.

"HAAAAIYAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!" She shouted.
"H-huh?" I asked, being shocked from her sudden shout.
"I'm yelling so I can build up my spirit energy!" the girl exclaimed, "don't you know you can unlock your brain's full potential by yelling to build up spirit energy!?"
"Ah, I've heard that pro athletes do that. It's supposed to help you focus," I explained.
"I must be prepared for combat at all times, just in case someone tries to attack me! I will protect myself with Neo-Aikido!" the girl shouted.
"Aikido...? Then you're—" I said.
"Oh, yes! I'm Tenko Chabashira! HAIYAH! The Ultimate Aikido Master!" she said.

I looked at Tenko and smiled. I observed her and was quite glad.

"Ooohh! I always imagine Aikido masters to be huge, burly guys, but you're so cute!" I exclaimed.
"C-cute!?" Tenko asked, with a light blush on her face.

Tenko became more flustered. She was sweating a little bit as well.

"Aaaahhh... St-Stop iiit... I...I-I'm not... cute..." she said, "my face crinkles when I suck down a shake... and when I wipe my face, my eyelids turn inside-out."
"U-Um, I see... But I think you're cute. Right Rantaro?" I asked.
"...Huh? Oh... right," Rantaro replied.

Suddenly Tenko's facial expression turned into some sort of weird smug expression.

"Wh-What's the matter? Your face looks really intense now!" I exclaimed.
"I don't like to be praised by degenerate males," Tenko spat out.
"Degenerate males? You mean men? Are you... uncomfortable around them?" I asked.
"It's a way bigger problem than just being uncomfortable," she replied, "if any degenerate tries to touch me, my reflex is to grab them and throw them across the room."
"You're right... That is a way bigger problem than just being uncomfortable around men. Also, what is Neo-Aikido?" I asked.
"Neo-Aikido is an original form of Aikido that my master and I completely made up ourselves," Tenko replied.

I'm guessing that meant self taught. Rantaro and I looked towards the other girl from the right side of the room. She had short red hair and wore a witches hat. Her school uniform was black with a red skirt. She had leggings on and boots. She kinda looked a bit lazy.

"Nyeeeh... So are we stuck here?" the girl asked in a lazy tone.
"Yeah... that's what it looks like..." I replied, "but don't be scared, I'm sure we'll be out of this place in a jiffy!"
"I'm...not scared. It's just a pain," the girl replied, "something like this won't make me panic. Cuz... I'm a mage."
"A mage?" I asked.
"Hm...that's right. I haven't told you guys yet. Prepare to be amazed. Fall to your knees. I am Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Mage," the girl said.

I stayed silent after that. Rantaro was also silent. So was the girl known as Himiko. The cycle continues a little bit more.

"But... I'm officially called the Ultimate Magician," Himiko said dejectedly.
"Ohh, so you're a magician. You should've said that from the start. I mean it makes sense though. Since magic doesn't exist," I explained.
"Nyeeeh...magic does exist," she replied.
"Huh?" I asked.
Because... I am a mage," Himiko said a bit more happily.
"You're just a magician, right?" I asked.
"Only on paper... I'm known as a magician, but that's just a ruse. I am actually... a mage," Himiko explained.
"J-just a ruse?" I stuttered.
"You guys might not know them, but... there's a group called the Magic Castle. Also known as the Hall of Magicians, it's where the world's magic lovers gather. I was the youngest person to ever win their Magician of the Year award," she explained.
"That's pretty cool," I commented.
"It's all a ruse," she said, "they're keeping my magic a secret by disguising it as tricks. Because of this ruse, I became famous all over the world for performing tricks. But... *sniffle* ...I'm not a magician... I'm a mage... Nobody believes me..." she said.
"There, there, don't be sad," I said while rubbing her shoulder.
"Maybe you can help us with your magic!" Tenko exclaimed.
"Magic isn't all-powerful... I can only do so much," Himiko explained.
"What can you do?" I asked.
"I can choose the card you picked, pull out coins, and release doves. Nyeeeh... if I get serious, I can even saw someone in half," she explained.

Those are just ordinary magic tricks.
I sat down to clear my head for a while.

'Four down, thirteen to go...' I thought.

Hey guys! Sorry for the wait! It took me a bit to write this. I use dialogue from the actual game. So this is a question for all of you to comment on. "Do you want Himiko to be able to use real magic?". List your answers in the comments below. I'll update soon!
