Chapter 5 Part 14: The Anti Monokuma Weapons

Your POV:

To say the least, being shocked was an understatement for what was going on right now. Kokichi disappeared for a couple of days, and no one knew where he was... not until he came into the gym, trying to one of us to volunteer to live.
Everyone didn't want Kokichi to take advantage of them, including me, so we all refused his so called "proposal", but that wasn't the end of it yet. Everyone seemed to be done with Kokichi messing with him, and he provided discord among everyone in this room somehow.
The terrifying part was the fact that Kokichi didn't seem to mind everyone's words. He seemed to shrug off everyone's reaction, including mine. He was expecting our reactions according to his words, and that was terrifying to hear. I still didn't really know what he was planning. And hearing that we reacted according to his own thought process was both shocking and horrifying.
There was a tense aura in the room as Kokichi's words echoed through the gym. There was a moment of silence in which no one spoke. All I could feel was the tension building as we waited for what Kokichi was going to say next.
"Ah-haha, I lied about killing everyone!" Kokichi exclaimed happily, "I just wanted to test your determination!"
I could feel myself grow from confused and terrified to confused and dumbfounded in what seemed to be an instant. Kokichi lied, and I couldn't even tell what was the truth and what was a lie anymore. Not with Kokichi. Kokichi was truly an enigma, and this felt like the start to something bad.
"Determination!?" Shuichi asked in shock.
"I'm so confused right now," I muttered, "it's like I hit my head and woke up in a bed of flowers, and then I was almost killed by a talking flower..."
"Who cares if your head is spinning like the beginning of a famous rpg indie game?" Kokichi asked in response, "I just wanted to see if you guys were determined enough to end this killing game."
"Why is that an excuse to act like you were going to fuckin' blow us up!?" Miu exclaimed, "wait a minute..."
Miu was obviously angry at Kokichi, but now, she seemed to be taking a closer look at the dolly Kokichi was leaning on, including the bomb device that was still in his hands. I looked in shock as Miu silently looked at the items Kokichi had with him.
"You bastard!" Miu shouted, "how fucking dare you use my own invention to frame a bomb! That fuckin' awesome thing is one of the things that bastard commissioned me to make him before the whole virtual world shit."
"Nee-heehee, I didn't think you would even figure out that these were things you invented," Kokichi laughed in response, "it looks like that cum dumpster actually has some brains in her skull."
Miu let out a scream in response to that. It was something she usually did when someone insulted her. She always got timid and quote on quote "submissive" when someone even raised their voice at her.
"H-Hey, you don't get to take all of the fuckin' credit!" Miu exclaimed in response, "I was the one who created the Ultimate Anti-Monokuma Weapons! Not you!"
I honestly had no idea what Miu was talking about. That's when I decided to take a closer look at what was on the dolly. There were what looked like large electronic hammers, colored in pink. Just taking a closer look made it apparent that Miu was the one who made them. I had no idea how many hammers there were, but there were quite a few.
"By *Ultimate Anti-Monokuma Weapons*, do you mean the hammers?" Kirumi asked.
"While I don't want to listen to him, I can't deny Miu if she said she made the hammers," Kaito muttered.
"It looks like Kaito knows when something is not a lie," Kokichi replied with a seemingly smug smirk, "in any case, if Miu wouldn't have survived her close call with death, these would've been her memento."
"I don't give a rat's ass that this would've been *my* memento!" Miu shouted in protest, "I wouldn't even want you to act like you fuckin' care about me! I know you're planning something!"
"C'mon Miu," Kokichi whined, "you gotta trust me more! I promise I'm not planning anything!"
"Even though I'm uncertain about this, we should let him speak," Kirumi stated, "after all, there are people here that we've misunderstood quite a bit."
"I mean that is true..." I muttered, "so Kokichi, what do you have to say?"
It was true that some people did something that they aren't exactly proud of. Most of which I couldn't even speak about in fear that the mastermind was listening in. Kirumi was given a second chance, and Miu acted the way she did because she had a bad feeling on Kokichi. I knew that after almost dying, they wouldn't want to try that again. It could be the same case with Kokichi, but I didn't know for sure.
"If anyone's going to explain the weapons, it's fuckin' me!" Miu exclaimed, "those hammers are called *Electrohammers*, and Cockichi was the one who told me to invent them. They are a flawless invention that disables any electrical machine on contact, but I'm sure you plebs don't even understand me."
"W-Wait!" Keebo stuttered, "these disable...electronic machines!?"
"Keebo, these fuckin' hammers are only meant to kick Monokuma's ass!" Miu yelled to Keebo in response.
"Nee-heehee..." Kokichi laughed, "Miu is right that these would affect Keebo. They should be helpful against Monokuma though, right?"
"Huh?" Tsumugi asked Kokichi in response, "helpful against Monokuma?"
"I think that the real question should be how Kokichi found out about this plan, yeah?" Rantaro asked.
"You don't need to be so accusing, playboy," Kokichi replied, "to answer your obvious question, I just happened to be hiding in the dining hall when I heard you guys discussing it!"
'Of course he was...' I thought in response.
A good part of me wanted to be surprised over Kokichi's answer, considering he mentioned that he was hiding in the dining hall. When we were discussing everything however, I couldn't see him or hear him which proved that I couldn't find Kokichi if he *wanted* to hide from everyone.
"The fact that you were hiding there means it wasn't a coincidence!" Himiko exclaimed.
"Himiko is right!" Tenko exclaimed, "it's not a coincidence if you were hiding right under our noses, you degenerate!"
"But I was just so elated when I heard you guys wanting to fight Monokuma," Kokichi replied happily, "cuz that was my plan all along... That's how I wanna end this killing game. And that's why I asked Miu to make these weapons. To defeat Monokuma and the Monokubs."
"...Don't lie," Maki muttered, "you've been fixated on this killing game the whole time."
"I know that you guys are troubled on whether to believe me or not," Kokichi explained, "but here's the thing. Miu is here, and she backed me by saying that she made these weapons here. That means by default, you have to believe me."
"What if you forced Miu to make them?" Kaito asked.
"So you're going to doubt me on that too?" Kokichi asked in response, "I just asked Miu if she'd invent them for me. She agreed before she planned to kill me in the virtual world."
"That doesn't excuse the fact that you're acting like you forgot what you did to us..." Kaede said in response.
"Yup, I forgot," Kokichi replied with a smile.
I was pretty sure Kokichi was lying about that. There was no way he could forget what he said and what he did. Kokichi lived off of creating mischief. He orchestrated so many schemes to get his way, including manipulating Gonta into killing Miu. I felt like there was more to it than just that. I had no idea what was going through his head.
"Nyeeeh!" Himiko exclaimed, "how do you expect us to believe that!?"
"I bet you're all wondering why I decided to try on icing someone instead of using these weapons to deal with Monokuma..." Miu muttered, her tone growing more serious, "I'll do you all a fuckin' favor and give you the rundown. I had a talk with that Psycho while working on these babies."
When Miu mentioned that everyone would be curious on why she planned to murder someone. She however used a different phrase to describe it to keep a relatively relaxed atmosphere. When Miu mentioned that she had a talk with Kokichi while she was working on those items, it made me curious on what they were talking about.
"But Miu, if you had weapons made to fight Monokuma, you should've told us!" Kaede exclaimed.
"Let me talk god damnit!" Miu shouted, "I normally don't go in depth like this, but if I don't, there's a chance Cockichi will fuck those words up!"
"That's a false accusation Miu!" Kokichi exclaimed in response, "I hate being accused of such a thing!"
"Shut the fuck up, no one cares!" Miu yelled in response.
Miu seemed to take a moment to put herself in a calmer state so she could explain everything. Miu soon explained that Kokichi told her that they should fight against Monokuma. She made a snide comment about how Kokichi insulted her at that time too, but after that said bitterness, she started to explain her response. Miu explained that if Kokichi wanted to fight Monokuma, he should do it alone.
Miu explained that she told Kokichi if everyone was working together, someone would betray them. She brought up the people that I saved, and worried that streak of luck would end soon. This conversation did happen before I told her what was going on.
In short, Miu said that she had no intention of defying Monokuma. She didn't want to die yet, and she said she couldn't. However, Miu did say she was more confident in this plan. She wasn't confident with Kokichi being here, and we all knew she wasn't happy about that.
"To put an end to this bullshit, I was afraid to trust you all..." Miu stated, "the fear of betrayal was so prominent in me that I almost bloodied my hands..."
I could understand Miu. That was one thing I faced. I was afraid to trust some people. If I trusted someone, they would eventually leave... and that kept happening, even now. Kaito was an example of that, and so was Rantaro...
Shuichi even had a time where he didn't know who to trust and what was going on. He almost bloodied his hands from the stress. Everyone here has to face a fear, whether it was trust, or death. It was like that in this school, and it was also like this out in the real world too.
"I think we can all agree that the stupid whore can shut up now," Kokichi said, "Miu tried to bloody her hands because of her fear, and now that she's had a good wake up call, I think every one of you is different...whether you were ready in the past or if you only just became worthy. You all will no longer lose to the fear of your friends betraying you, right?"
Kokichi had a mischievous smile as he explained all of those words. How Miu had a wake up call after almost dying to his own scheme. The way he smiled was as if he was trying to hype all of us up, only to see us fail. I had no idea whether to believe his words, or if he was just saying them to satisfy his own ego.
"You all showed your determination to fight together, and you ignored my advice from earlier," Kokichi explained.
"Hey, ignoring advice saved me from dying to a talking flower..." I muttered.
"No one cares about the famous rpg indie game talk, my beloved," Kokichi stated, "but you all did ignore my advice."
"...And you would lie about killing all of us just to test that theory?" Shuichi asked.
"Yeah, that's why I want all of you to do your best," Kokichi replied, "Kaito is probably soooo mad! He's probably trying to find a way not to listen to me since Miu is alive and she explained everything from her own mouth."
"You're damn right in trying to find a way not to listen to you!" Kaito shouted in response, "you are not trustworthy in any way!"
"Oh, by the way, the Electrohammers weren't the only Miu made..." Kokichi explained, "she made this thing, too."
After saying that, Kokichi showed everyone the thing that he tried passing off as a real bomb to *test* us. The said thing was pink, and it had a logo of what looked like some sort of gray mouse on it. The specific color of pink of pink used for that said device was the same color used on the Electrohammers.
   "That bomb, too?" Tsumugi asked.
"Nee-heehee..." Kokichi laughed, "it's not *exactly* a bomb, though. Even if it's called an Electrobomb... It jams signals by scattering particles that interfere with electromagnetic waves."
"Let me explain my own god damn invention, Cockichi!" Miu told Kokichi, "I'm never going to make any kind of invention for you any more after the what you pulled. Don't take the credit for something I did, you fuckin' asshole!"
I could tell that Miu was getting tired of Kokichi trying to explain her invention for her. I knew her anger was from what happened in the virtual world. Even if Miu was angry about Kokichi, we now had an idea of what that "Electrobomb" could do. There was a chance that Miu was going to explain more about that invention. Any information about these things would be useful if we're going to use them against Monokuma.
"As Cockichi said, my glorious Electrobombs scatter particles that interfere with electromagnetic waves," Miu explained, "what you all don't know is how powerful these babies are! These devices last two hours, and all electronic devices within fifty yards will be completely disabled! And as a bonus, no debris is left behind so if you wanna do something a little dirty, no one can peep. I know, beautiful, and fuckin' intelligent! You guys should fuckin' thank me for inventing these!"
"But as far as I know, only three of them exist," Kokichi stated, "maybe Miu can make some more of them if that stupid cum dumpster can. You guys will have to settle for the Electrohammers."
"How can we possibly settle for these when they're supposed to be used for Monokuma?" Keebo asked.
"Maybe I have to upgrade your intelligence," Miu told Keebo, "my Electrohammers don't just work on Monokuma."
"Don't you think these can work in the underground tunnel?" Kokichi asked, "y'know, the tunnel none of us could get past in the beginning? Well, we could use these hammers to destroy the electronic traps that are set in that place."
I could feel my eyes widen as I realized that was in fact the case. If these Electrohammers could disable electronic devices, it could be said that the hammers could disable the traps. I never tried to get past all of the obstacles since the beginning when I tried to do that myself to save everyone.
I wasn't the only one who was shocked about it though. I saw multiple people have shock written on their faces aside from Kokichi and Miu. We received information about the items Miu made, but the lot of us failed to put the dots together because of the situation.
Himiko asked if it was true, and Kokichi mentioned that everyone was starting to believe him now. It wasn't surprising knowing that Miu was backing up the information he gave us. Everyone was more inclined to believe what was said when more than one person was agreeing with each other. Miu was a blessing for Kokichi because of the fact that no one trusted him. Because she was proving that they had a conversation, that Miu did make these items, everyone was believing the story, including me.
Miu soon explained that while the Electrohammers were powerful in terms of taking out electrical devices, the battery would die pretty quickly. Miu also mentioned that if we tried to hit an Exisal with one of the hammers, it would die in one strike. It was explained that once the battery was dead, it would take a full twenty four hours to recharge it to max power. That meant we had to use the Electrohammers sparingly, and only for dire situations. At least that was what I thought.
After that, Kokichi told us that was the only information he had. He mentioned that he was going to hand the Electrohammers over to us, as well as telling us he was going to let us talk it over without interfering. I could see the mischievous smirk on his face as he said that. If he wasn't going to interfere, why was he smiling like that. I truly didn't understand his personality. He lied so much no one knew when he was being serious or not. Kokichi was like the person who just watched everything from the sidelines, causing conflict just to be entertained.
"I have a hard time believing you won't interfere," Kaede explained.
"I'll be looking from a distance..." Kokichi trailed off, "or something like that. You guys don't even want me around anyway."
I could feel myself look down slightly in response to his words. Kokichi had a smile on his face, but his words were saddening. It reminded me of how Maki was before Kaito started helping her out. I had no idea whether to say something or stay silent. I had no right to say anything. I did terrible things as well.
"W-Wait, before you run off again..." Shuichi muttered, "there's something I need to ask you. What was that writing in the courtyard?"
When Shuichi asked that, I felt myself grow relieved. Because of that was going on at this point in time with the plan to try and fight Monokuma, I failed to realize that this would be the one chance to get information from Kokichi about the writing in the courtyard. I was thankful Shuichi brought it up.
"That message that Gonta found," Shuichi explained, "*this world is mine* I believe it said. Did you write that? And if you did write that, why?"
"Hm, what's that?" Kokichi asked in response, "I have no idea."
"D-Don't play dumb!" Himiko exclaimed in response, "your name is on it! You gotta be the one who did it!"
"Himiko is right!" Tenko exclaimed in response, "your degenerate name was signed underneath that sentence, so it must be you who wrote it! There's no other way around it!"
"But I wouldn't gain anything from writing a message like that, would I?" Kokichi asked, "that would just make you guys suspect I'm the mastermind. I mean Miu already thinks of me as some sort of psycho. A line like that wouldn't help me out. *This world is mine, Kokichi Oma* would make me seem like the mastermind..."
Kokichi was right about that. He didn't seem to know about the writing, and he even mentioned something like that message, it would give people the wrong impression of him. The sad truth was that Kokichi's words could be a deception...a lie.
"Oh, I know!" Kokichi exclaimed, "this is all Monokuma's doing. He's trying to get us to suspect each other! But don't worry. I truly wanna end this killing—"
Before Kokichi could say another word, I saw a dark shadow maneuver past multiple people, including myself. It was so fast that that I only got a mere glimpse of the shadow rushing past me. It took as little as a couple of seconds for us to realize who that shadow was and what they were doing.
Kokichi let out a gasp when his air supply was suddenly cut off. A hand that was tightly wrapped around his neck lifted him up. The one who was holding Kokichi up, murderous intent swelling up like a fire was Maki.
Maki's eyes were glowing red as she held Kokichi up. The glowing of her eyes was her way of showing that she wasn't going to spare him. It was terrifying to see Maki in this state once again. The last time I saw this happen was when Kokichi told everyone that her talent was the Ultimate Assassin.
I was shocked to see this, and I knew that this would result in a very bad outcome if no one would help calm the situation. I could feel myself grow nervous when I realized what could happen if things continued the way they were going. Maki would most likely kill Kokichi.
"Tell is the truth," Maki stated harshly, "what are you scheming?"
"L-Like I said, I just wanna end this killing game, that's all..." Kokichi managed to push out, "this miracle of people surviving won't last forever, so I want to do something now..."
"That can't be the complete truth," Maki said harshly, tightening her grip around his neck, "if you don't tell us the truth, then I'll break you."
Kokichi let out a grunt of pain as Maki tightened her grip around his neck. Maki's intent to murder was just growing more ravenous. Maki knew Kokichi's personality was made up of lies and deception. She was trying to get his motives by trying to hold death over his head. If Maki wound up killing Kokichi, she would die.
"Maki Roll, cut it out!" Kaito shouted, "you'll get killed if you don't! I told you we can't play this killing game! That's just what Monokuma wants!"
There was a moment of silence in response to Kaito's words. Maki was silent for a moment, before she let go, Kokichi's body falling into a heap when he hit the ground.
Kokichi was gasping slightly, inhaling and exhaling to make up for the air he lost. After a few moments he managed to position himself onto his knees before getting up. His hand made its wait to his head, as he winced from what was likely the pain from the fall.
"Geez..." Kokichi muttered, his voice slightly raspy, "y-you're such a meanie. How could you do something like this to a friend?"
Even though Maki dropped Kokichi, once he got back up, she was glaring at him with a deadly stare. Her glare seemed to get scarier when he called himself her friend.
    "...Friend?" Maki asked, "as if."
"Y-You guys may not think that way, but I..." Kokichi trailed off, "see all of you as my friends...even the ones I pick on the most, like Keeboy, (y/n), and Miu... Th-That's why...I'll be back. I won't interfere anymore...so please... continue to walk the path you believe in."
After saying those words, Kokichi managed to get himself to the exit, staggering as he went. He opened the door and left, his balance off because of how weak his body was after Maki tried to strangle him.
I could feel a heavy weight grow on my chest as he walked out. There was a chance that Kokichi was in pain because of how we treated him in this situation. He probably thought testing us was the only way to see if we were capable of fighting. I hoped that was what it was, not his lying.
Kokichi left the Electrohammers, and now we needed to figure out what we were going to do. We needed to plan on something. It almost felt wrong to use these weapons considering what just happened. The thing we needed to decide whether or not we should go through with Kokichi's advice.

Hello all! I don't know how you all feel about this chapter, but to me it's not that good. I hope you all are happy with it though. I've been in class this week, so I have to schedule when I do updates.

In any case, we all know Kokichi is planning something. Haha...hah...hah... the next chapters are going to hurt to write XD. I know this was short, but I hope you all have an amazing weekend!- yuki_no_fuyu
