Chapter 3 Part 5: Tenko's Lab Discovered
Your POV:
After investigating what I could from Angie's Lab, I left the room to see what I could see more of. There had to be at least one more thing to find on this floor. There had to be.
I heard the door open slowly. I was met with a pair of gorgeous green eyes. I blushed lightly at this.
"Hey (y/n), it seems like there's something on your mind," Rantaro said with concern lacing his voice, "care to share?"
I let out a sigh. I mean I wasn't upset about anything at the moment. I was just trying to get a grasp on what else could be on this floor.
"Nothing is wrong with me Rantaro," I told him, "I'm just trying to think about what else could be on this floor. I feel like there's more even if it's just a little bit."
"Hmm, I see..." Rantaro trailed off, "well, why don't we do one last run through? Shuichi and Kaede are still finishing with the lab. We have a little bit of time."
"Sure," I replied, "this floor gives me the creeps, but here we go!"
When I got back to the first part of the third floor, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. When I looked at the paining, it seemed a bit odd to me.
"Maybe we should try to see what the scroll is fo—" I said as I heard something pop up in the room.
I saw the bald shriveled version of Monokuma just standing there. It wouldn't even say a thing.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
The bear stayed silent once more. It seemed to walk up to the painting I was looking at.
Seeing what it was doing, I slowly went to inspect it again. The paining seemed to be some kind of passage way in a far away perspective. My eyes widened slightly once I made the realization on what this was.
It was a glass window, making it seem like it was a far away painting. I looked at the golden hammer I've had in my possession, and I instantly connected the dots.
"(y/n), what are you—" Rantaro tried to say.
I was one who cut him off. I chucked the hammer at the glass to see if I was right. The hammer went through the glass, breaking the so called painting instantly. Glass shards went flying as the said glass spiderwebbed.
I was happy that my idea worked, but I soon felt something sharp slice into my cheek. When I went to inspect the source of the pain, I found a piece of sharp looking glass there.
"(y/n), are you alright?" Rantaro asked me.
The 5'10 boy seemed to know something had hurt me. He turned me around so that I was facing him. He noticed the bloody glass piece in my hand and the cut in my cheek.
How her reacted.... his eyes went wide like he witnessed the biggest nightmare ever.
"(y/n), you need to be more careful!" Rantaro exclaimed.
This was out of character for him. Rantaro was normally the laid back type. Then I get hurt and he takes a 180 turn to a different type of personality.
I honestly think this was because he was worried. I should try to calm him down.
"Hey Rantaro, I'm fine," I told him, "it's just a cut."
"It's not ok... forget about searching this pathway, you are going to the infirmary so I can treat your wound," Rantaro told me.
"Is there even an infirmary in here?" I asked.
"I'm not too sure, but I'm taking you to see Kirumi. She most likely has a first aid kit." Rantaro told me.
Before I could even protest, I felt myself being lifted into someone's arms. More specifically Rantaro's.
This caused me to blush madly. Was he really that worried over a cut on my cheek? In a way... I thought it was cute that he was worrying about me like this. And to be honest, I still didn't think I deserved it.
Rantaro started to take me downstairs to Kirumi as I held my bleeding cheek. Hopefully no one would think he was the one who hurt me. It was just a stray piece of glass that cut me because I wasn't careful.
Rantaro took me to Kirumi's Lab. She was in there, organizing her cleaning supplies. She seemed to be rather busy with that task though.
Part of me thought however that Kirumi was in there because she felt like no one trusted her. I felt that way before, and it caused me to lock myself in my room. I can sympathize with what's happening.
"Hey, Kirumi," Rantaro greeted.
This seemed to break Kirumi out of the trance she was in when she was organizing her cleaning supplies.
"What can I do for you Rantaro?" Kirumi asked.
It took a minute for her to realize I was in his arms with blood gushing out of my cheek. I nervously smiled lightly.
"Well I kinda need a first aid kit to treat her cut," Rantaro explained.
Kirumi eyed Rantaro suspiciously. It seemed that she might of thought that he was the one to attack me, but it wasn't true.
"How did she get cut?" Kirumi asked.
"(y/n) in her endeavor to find where the hammer was, threw it at a thin sheet of glass blocking the next area. Long story short, she got that cut in her cheek from the glass," Rantaro explained.
Kirumi let out a small sigh before walking closer to us.
"You really need to be more careful. You've done so much for me, and I don't want you to be careless and die," Kirumi explained with soft eyes, "now let's go, I need to disinfect that wound of yours before it gets infected."
I nodded lightly in understanding. There was one thing I've learned. You never leave a cut to fester up and become infected.
Rantaro set me on one of the chairs that was near the table in Kirumi's lab. Rantaro did look worried, and Kirumi was basically expressing that she was.
Kirumi then disappeared for a second, but a few moments later, she brought a first aid kit. She opened it up, taking out a bandage from the box. After taking the bandage out, Kirumi took a cotton ball and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.
Kirumi put some of the peroxide on the cotton ball. She walked up to me.
"This might hurt a little bit," Kirumi told me.
With that said, she pressed the soaked cotton ball against my cheek. I felt the wound start to fizz as the hydrogen peroxide cleaned out the infection. It stung. You could basically see me wincing.
"Relax (y/n)," Rantaro told me, "this needs to be done."
I knew that. The glass that cut me was dusty. If something like this wasn't done, I'd definitely get an infection.
Soon enough, Kirumi put the bandage on the wound. She put the first aid kit away after putting back what belonged in there. She returned once again a few moments later.
"You are all set up. Try to be more careful," Kirumi told me.
"Don't worry, I will," I replied.
"Is there anything I can do to thank you?" Rantaro asked.
"Just keep her from harming herself," Kirumi replied.
"I was already planning on it..." Rantaro chuckled, "alright (y/n) let's go."
I nodded nervously before exiting the lab with Rantaro.
"I was thinking that we can go back upstairs later. I want to see where this scroll thing goes," I explained.
"Let's go that then. I wish we could've told Shuichi we knew what the hammer unlocked though," Rantaro replied.
Rantaro and I walked down to the main floor of the school. I was going to look in the courtyard for any type of thing to unlock. There didn't seem to be anything that didn't use a scroll.
Once we made it outside, I noticed something. There were fewer plants out there than the last time. The maintenance must've been going well for Monokuma.
"There are fewer plants..." I laughed.
"Probably because of construction," Rantaro replied.
I noticed there were two people in front of the school. It was specifically Tenko and Himiko. Were they outside to look for another area to unlock as well?
"It's becoming more and more beautiful... Just like me," Himiko told herself.
"U-Um... really?" I asked nervously in response.
"(y/n), I think you might've made Himiko angry..." Tenko warned me, "you wouldn't know this, but this is Himiko when she's mad!"
"No...I was blushing," Himiko replied, an actual blush dusting her cheeks.
What!? From your own compliment!?" Tenko exclaimed in shock.
I honestly wondered what was going on now. I wanted to check the courtyard, but I walked in on this.
"(y/n), what happened to your cheek!?" Tenko suddenly asked.
This made me slightly go nervous. She looked over at Rantaro and glared at him.
"You did this to my sweet (y/n), didn't you, you degenerate male!?" Tenko asked angrily.
"N-No it wasn't him!" I exclaimed, "I was in the third floor and I broke a glass pane with the window to give access to the next area. One of the pieces cut my cheek."
Tenko seemed to lose her angry expression. This made me sigh in relief.
"I hope you're telling me the truth," Tenko told me.
"I am, don't worry," I replied.
Tenko sure was terrifying when she was upset. Despite that, we were able to get back on track with the conversation we were having.
It was explained by Rantaro that Himiko doesn't change her emotions often. It was true. Himiko never really used expressions, so I didn't exactly know what she was feeling. Himiko said that it was a pain to use expressions.
The two then decided to walk down the stairs. This kind of gave me a hint on where the scroll could be used. With all due honesty, I felt like this had something to do with Tenko. Himiko's Lab was already discovered, so Tenko could be the only option here.
"Should we follow them?" Rantaro asked.
"I feel like we should. I feel like the scroll has something to do with Tenko," I replied.
"You're the boss," Rantaro chuckled.
With that said, Rantaro and I followed after Tenko and Himiko. Hopefully Shuichi and Kaede would see to getting to that secret passage I found. I did have to stay focused on what I was going to do.
When I got down to where the two were, Himiko instantly had something to say to me. She told me that the trick she did from the magic show was magic. She also said she could've killed the piranhas with her magic to save the body. This made me feel slightly sad. I had to press on though.
Tenko told me her spirit was weak. She said she wanted to get out of her and never give up. I smiled when she said that. I did admire her spirit.
To my left was some sort of ninja statue. I took a good look at it before looking at the scroll I had. The statue had two holes in its mask. I put the scroll through the mask. I waited for a few seconds. Soon, the ground started shaking. Trees started to fall down as something starting coming up from the ground. A building with lit up signs rose from the ground. It looked like some sort of dojo to train in. There was also a path to it that appeared.
The only thing that shocked me was the fact that the building was able to rise from the ground. What kind of technology can make this happen?
Tenko was obviously excited about this. She knew it was a dojo as well. This made it known to me that this was most likely her lab. I was right about the scroll being related to her.
Himiko tried saying it was because of her magic. I am partially convinced because of what I saw at the last trial.
"Now, let's gooooo!" Tenko exclaimed happily, "...Oh, Rantaro, you can decline. I'd actually prefer it, since you are a degenerate and all."
Rantaro gave a blank stare to Tenko. He was very unimpressed.
"Tenko, not all men are bad," he explained, "and I am coming in because I need to make sure (y/n) doesn't hurt herself again..."
I looked up at Rantaro when he said that. A light blush appeared on my face. I wasn't expecting him to say that. I felt like he actually cared.
With that, we all walked into the strange dojo that popped up. The dojo was huge on the inside. The smell was nice because they had new tatami mats. There were many wooden dummies lined up on both sides doing punches. There was also a huge one doing the same thing, but slower. There was a scaffold connected to chains hanging up. I wondered what that was for.
The things I was seeing didn't require any close investigation. It was basically what I saw being what was happening. I just wondered why there was one huge doll. How did it work?
Himiko looked like she was being slightly lazy, going about how much of a pain everything was. According to her, there was no mana here.
I walked up to Tenko. She seemed slightly upset.
"See, this *is* my lab, you jerk!" Tenko exclaimed.
"I knew this was..." I replied.
"I was talking to the degenerate," Tenko replied.
I thought Tenko was just prepared to say that. Rantaro and I never mentioned that this wasn't her lab. I honestly just thought it was her lab.
"Why are you so angry?" Rantaro asked.
"I'm so happy. I just can't contain my emotions!" Tenko exclaimed happily, "like an excited dog that just pees everywhere!"
'Why did she use that analogy?' I thought.
Tenko was bursting with emotion, and Himiko was the opposite. Tenko was so happy, but Himiko was unmotivated to do anything. They were pure opposites.
"Wow, this is such a nice dojo! I'm sure sparring will be incredible here!" Tenko exclaimed.
"B-But, you don't have a sparring partner—" I tried to say.
As I tried to finish my sentence, I felt someone roughly grab me by the arm before flipping me over like I was a rag doll.
I was obviously in shock when this was happening. What did I go to deserve to be flipped. Tenko let out a battle cry as she flipped me over.
I obviously did scream as this happened.
Once I landed on the floor, I was basically a shivering mess.
"Wh-Why did you flip me?" I stuttered in both pain and shock as I got up off the ground.
Tenko exclaimed that Neo-Aikido was a martial art practice that involves fighting head on. She told Himiko to aim for the heart. I covered my chest in shock. They were starting with that!?
She then laughed like it was a joke. She was kidding.
There was one thing I was trying to say. I was trying to ask Tenko why she started with actual fighting.
"You don't have a lot of confidence in yourself, do you, (y/n)?" Tenko suddenly asked.
"What?" I asked in response.
"You lack self-esteem...and because of that, you doubt your strength," Tenko explained, "you seem more confident than before, but I can tell you still question yourself."
Of all the times someone could try and give me a talk like this, why now? She noticed this now...? After the trials where I had a mental breakdown....
"...Well? I'm right, aren't I? I can tell when my sparring partner is burdened by doubt!" Tenko exclaimed.
"You're right..." I muttered.
"You know what works real good at lifting all that doubt!? Neo-Aikido!" Tenko shouted, "because Aikido itself is a Japanese martial art, that treasures a pure heart above all else!"
Tenko actually gave me some good advise. I smiled lightly at that, but soon she started to hound Himiko about combining magic and Neo-Aikido. Himiko didn't want to, do Tenko did the same thing to Himiko as she did to me.
Tenko flipped her, and started to talk about Himiko being too shy to reveal her emotions. Tenko brought up the Himiko had one of the purest hearts she had seen.
Himiko was angry though. Tenko wanted her to train, but Himiko wanted turn Tenko into a frog. I could see Himiko was mad.
I took this as a sign to leave. I took Rantaro's hand and walked out of the door.
"My back hurts..." I whined.
"You did need that flip though," Rantaro replied with a slight chuckle.
Suddenly heard voices. It looked like Miu and Keebo in the distance.
Miu was going about how she couldn't hold back anymore. She brought up how she wanted them to take it to the next level. Keebo was getting flustered. Were they talking about the birds and the bees?
Miu started dragging Keebo to her lab. Maybe I should follow them to make sure everything's ok....
Another chapter out. Yeah reader unlocked the cyber room area, but she didn't get a chance to take a look yet because she cut her cheek. I hope you enjoy this chapter! I'll see you all next week and I hope to get fanart!- CRUSIFIXdroid
