Chapter 2 Part 8: Motive Video Meeting and Tsumugi's First Freetime Event
Your POV:
"What do you mean you got your own motive video!?" Kaito exclaimed.
I felt frustrated course through my body at Kaito's idiotic question. How could he not understand what I mean by 'I got my own motive video'? Everyone else seemed to get it but not Kaito.
"How can you not understand?" I asked, "I got my own motive video! This means I saw my own motive!"
Everyone seemed shocked by my outburst. It was obvious on why I was frustrated. I saw my own motive, and I wanted to know if my friends were safe.
"(y/n), you need to relax," Kaede told me.
"I'm telling all of you so I don't have a chance to be tempted to kill someone.
I'm telling you all because I want all of you to be safe!" I responded, being slightly snippy with her.
"Take deep breaths (y/n)..." Rantaro told me, "take deep breaths and relax. Breath in... breath out..."
I did what Rantaro told me to do. I slowly inhaled, letting the cool air enter my lungs. I then exhaled slowly as well, releasing that air from my lungs. I did this repeatedly for about a minute or so.
"See? You look a lot more calm already," Rantaro said with a light smile, "now with that out of the way, please tell us what was in your video."
Sweat rolled down my face as I recalled the motive video. I had just calmed down, and now I was in that area of stress again. I had to tell them who was in my motive video. If I didn't, there would be a chance that I'd try to kill someone. I didn't want that.
My hands started trembling once more. My hands were getting clammy and dripping with sweat.
'Just stay calm (y/n),' I thought, 'telling them would be for the greater good...'
That was my justification. That was all it took for me to get the confidence to tell everyone.
"You remember what I told you during the trial...?" I asked.
"You mean how that boy basically got killed for insulting you, yeah everyone remembers!" Kokichi exclaimed in response.
"Well..." I muttered, "there was a couple of people who believed me when I told them I never killed anyone..."
Everyone looked at me with a confused expression. It was like they didn't understand who I was talking about.
"Remember when I told you all I had very few friends?" I asked.
Everyone's eyes seemed to light up after that. They seemed to get what I was talking about now.
"Yes... the thing on my motive video was my two friends..." I explained.
"I see," Rantaro muttered, "Monokuma must've known you weren't cared about by your family, so he used your friends as leverage... smart..."
I rolled my eyes at Rantaro. He was being mysterious again. I had no idea who got his motive, but I had a feeling I knew what was in his. I felt like it was his sisters. I mean he did vent all of that to me, so it would be obvious that's what he cares about most. I should talk to him about that later, so he doesn't try to kill anyone.
"Anyway, I saw a live interview with them. They were telling whoever was recording that they wanted me safe and alive. They even said I've been through enough. They just wanted me to live," I explained.
I felt tears in my eyes as I explained this. This obviously told everyone I was truly hurt about this... they could tell I truly cared.
"Then Monokuma's voice came in. He told me that they went through an unfortunate accident.... this made me shocked. I want them to be alive... I want them to be ok... what if they aren't safe...?" I explained.
Tears were steaming out of my eyes now. Everyone looked at me with a sympathetic look on their faces. It was like they were trying to understand.
"When a whole world is against you and you have only a couple of people supporting you, you'd want Nothing bad to happen to them, right?" I asked, "well something bad probably happened to them... to people who never deserved it. If they had never associated with me, they'd be safe! This is another thing that's my fau—"
A dull sound rang through the air. Everyone was in shock. A red mark appeared on my cheek, as a result from the same man hitting me when I first met him. I was obviously slapped again. By none other than Kaito.
"Quit blaming yourself! You were finally starting to get more confident, and now this happens!" Kaito shouted, "there's still a chance that your friends are safe. Be hopeful and believe that they're safe!"
I looked to the side slightly. I mean he wasn't wrong. I was finally trying to get my self esteem under control and then this happens. I get my own motive video, and then I blame myself for the terrible things happening to them.
I can't say it's not my fault though. The people I care about are being harmed just to try and force me to kill. While I'm not the one inflicting the pain, I'm still the cause. That's my belief.
"Hey (y/n), Kaito shouldn't have slapped you, but I do agree with him," Rantaro told me, "just believe that your friends are safe."
"Jeez (y/n)..." Kaito muttered, "that's like the second time I hit you. I have morals not to hit a girl, but I felt like some sense had to get knocked into you."
"One of these days, I'm going to hit you back..." I muttered.
"So in any case," Keebo explained, "we now know that someone got their own motive video. We should get information about the video one received."
I looked over at Keebo. I sighed lightly.
"You don't plan on trading the video you got with your real motive video, right?" I asked.
"No!" Keebo shouted in protest, "I'm saying that since most of the videos were mixed up, we should just leave it that way."
Everyone looked at Keebo as he spoke. His opinion was that since the motives were mixed up, we should just ignore them. I thought of that as good idea. If everyone doesn't see their motive video, then they won't have a motive.
Ryoma then stated he had a problem with this. Kaito tried starting the fight with the tennis player because of that. Ryoma wanted to see his motive video, and I could understand why. Ryoma wanted to know who cared about him in his life. He wanted to know the person that was the most important to him. Kokichi even said he felt the same way.
The way he felt was a bit different than what Ryoma felt. Kokichi said we shouldn't cooperate with each other. Kaede and Tenko defiantly asked why. He brought in Monokuma's actions. I just stayed quiet through all of this.
Soon enough Kokichi left with Gonta due to some *plan* they had. Everyone else except a few select people, including myself left. The thing that annoyed me the most was that they were giving Kirumi a lot of work.
I was left in the room with Tenko, Himiko, Kaede, Angie, Rantaro, Shuichi, Keebo, and Tsumugi. Himiko was silent and looking down slightly.
"...Wait, what's wrong, Himiko? Are you hungry?" Tenko asked, "then how about we eat together!? Kirumi, one tripe hot pot please!"
"You do know you're increasing her workload, right?" I asked.
That's how I spent the morning. Eating a tripe hot pot with my friends.
After that, I went back to my dorm room. I had eaten too much hot pot, so I was feeling very lazy. I honestly wished everyone could just work together.
I looked around my dorm room. Everyone decided to go their own ways. I wondered what I could do in my free time.
The door bell suddenly rang, causing me to jump up from shock. I wondered who'd need me right now. I sauntered up to the door with those thoughts on my mind. Once I opened the door, I saw Tsumugi standing there with a smile. It was pretty obvious on why she wanted to see me.
"Hey, (y/n)!" Tsumugi greeted, "do you want to go watch anime in your lab?"
I laughed slightly because I predicted this. I mean it was a matter of time before the cosplayer would want to hang out with me.
"That sounds like fun!" I exclaimed, "let's go to my lab!"
Tsumugi and I spent time hanging out in my lab. We obviously watched anime. Us anime fans always do that. I felt like I've gotten closer to Tsumugi. I decided to give her a gift as well. I had to take great thought in what I'd give her.
'A wig... that's an idea... I'll see what else I have,' I thought, 'a steel glasses case.... a sewing kit...'
I looked at the sewing kit with a smile on my face. I knew I found the perfect gift for Tsumugi. As a cosplayer, she'll need to tailor her outfits. I handed the kit to her.
"Is this for me?" Tsumugi asked.
"Yes it is," I replied.
"I love it so much! I'll get you something in the future!" Tsumugi exclaimed.
We were watching an anime called Food Wars. It's about a boy named Soma Yukihira. He is a chef in training at a prestigious chef school. The anime is borderline hentai, so I have no idea why the hell I was watching it.
Wait... I knew why.... it was hilarious.
"So, (y/n)! How are things with you and Rantaro going?" Tsumugi asked.
I blushed lightly at her statement. She said that like we were dating or something. I started waving my hands around defensively.
"W-Why do y-you say that like we're dating!?" I stuttered in shock.
"(y/n), level with me here... you have a crush on him, don't you?" she asked.
"Wh-What gives you that idea?" I stuttered in response.
"Come on (y/n), you can't lie to me," Tsumugi explained, "I saw the way you were looking at him while he was doing your nails. You also spend so much time around him."
I looked down with a blush on my face. She defiantly figured me out. I couldn't exactly deny it anymore. I had to tell her. I mean I could trust her. Hopefully she isn't the type to gossip. I sighed lightly.
"Ah, who am I kidding... yes it's true... I do have a crush on him..." I muttered.
Tsumugi's eyes seemed to sparkle at this. It was like that confession was the best thing she's ever heard.
"I knew it! I ship it so hard!" Tsumugi exclaimed happily.
"Big talk for someone who called us normies who need to backflip onto a landmine and explode..." I muttered in response.
"Let's forget about all of that. We need to talk about a way for you to confess to him!" Tsumugi explained.
"Isn't it a guy's job to confess?" I asked in response.
Tsumugi shook her head in response. It was like she was putting my opinion to the side. I was kind of confused about this. Who doesn't like a story where the guy confesses first.
"(y/n), (y/n), (y/n)... you don't get it," Tsumugi explained, "you would be his first relationship. I'm sure he doesn't even know how to confess. If you confess and he accepts, you will be his first, and maybe last relationship."
I did think it sounded amazing. Someone like me.... being his first girlfriend... it would be a dream come true.
"So what you need to do is meet up with him. In a room with a great soothing atmosphere. I suggest the pool," Tsumugi explained, "and then you confess to him there! It's perfect!"
I nodded lightly. I guess I could confess there. But the real question....
When will I do it?
Another chapter done. This one was specifically based off of (y/n)'s motive. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter.
