Chapter 2 Part 4: Rantaro's Secret

Your POV:

"Rantaro.... how did you find out about this before everyone else?" I asked.
Everyone had eyes on us, being shocked. I was guessing everyone else remembered the same thing as us.
"I just remembered it when I woke up here. It's weird I know, but it's the truth," Rantaro told me in response to my question.
Sighing lightly, I just decided to drop it for now. We had to figure out everything about the memories we had just recollected. Everyone was starting to talk about being chased by the Ultimate Hunt. We were trying to get away. That's all the memory gave us.
My eyes widened as I realized something just now. How everyone was talking. We needed more information on the Ultimate Hunt, but it was obvious that we didn't have it. We only remembered the statements of our memories. Those memories never gave us any detail about the Ultimate Hunt. We knew about it... not what it actually was.
"Rantaro, Can you explain what the Ultimate Hunt is?" I asked, "you know more than any of us..."
"My mind is kind of foggy right now," Rantaro explained, chuckling nervously.
"That is an obvious lie, and you know it Rantaro!" Kokichi exclaimed.
"I'm obviously not lying. I'm just shocked about the memories," Rantaro explained in response.
"I call bullshit on your lying ass!" Kokichi shouted in response.
(Haha had to...)
I was starting to grow frustrated. It was confusing enough that we had no idea what the Ultimate Hunt is, but it popped up in our memories, and now Kokichi is trying to start fights with Rantaro about him supposedly lying.
"Kokichi will you just shut up for once!?" I yelled, "we need to talk about what we remember and what information we need, and you trying to start fights with other people isn't helping!"
"B-But all I was trying to do was expose a liar," Kokichi replied with tears in his eyes.
I sighed lightly, just deciding to give the boy what he wanted.
"Just respect others more. I'll let it slide today..." I muttered.
That's when the conversation began. No I couldn't call it a conversation... it could be called a huge fight. Everyone was in a frenzy, trying to remember the events. Hell, Kokichi even decided to remind us that Rantaro was the only one who knew about it.
Monokuma soon popped up, actually explaining that one Flashback Light wouldn't return all of the memories. In other words, we'd have to keep surviving to get more Flashback Lights. This was some sort of game. We'd have to keep winning to get more. It was very messed up.
After he left, the fight continued. During the duration of the fight, Kokichi recommended that we ask the mastermind how we could get our memories back and how to get out of here. Everyone took Kaede's words into consideration, saying that there was no mastermind. I knew better though. There was one. Rantaro's strange "death" was pretty suspicious. Another shot put ball. Kaede's plan failing.
It was honestly something we could do. There is a Mastermind.
The fighting ended when Kokichi decided to provoke everyone and run out of the room. This resulted in Ryoma leaving the room, telling us that he didn't plan on surviving until the end of this killing game. That kind of upset me because I wanted everyone to live. Hearing Ryoma say that made me want to spill everything to him about my power. I knew I was in the same boat, but I wanted to help.
Kirumi then suggested that the rest of us gather to eat a nice breakfast. We all simply agreed. I mean who wouldn't want to agree. Kirumi was the best chef out of all of us here. She was totally amazing.
After breakfast, we all went back to our respective dorms. I still had questions about earlier. I wondered how Rantaro was able to find out about the Ultimate Hunt before everyone else. That was on my main list of mysteries to solve. If I ask Rantaro about everything, he might tell me. He did promise me he'd tell me about what he was hiding.
That solidified my reasoning. Rantaro had a promise to keep. I needed him to do what he promised me. I had to find out everything. I've already put so much trust in him, so he needs to trust me too.
I opened the door to my dorm, walking out. I looked for Rantaro's dorm after that, seeing if he was in there.
Once I got up to his dorm, I knocked on the door a couple of times. There was no answer. I wondered why there was no answer. Rantaro normally spends most of his time in the library, dining hall, or dorm room.
I knocked on the door a couple of times again, ringing the doorbell after. This time, the door opened.
Rantaro looked at me with a slight shock in his eyes. His hair was damp and dripping with water. Hair clung to his face, outlining his facial structure, making him look even better looking.
The thing that really got to me was the fact that he was shirtless. Rantaro had a very nice v-line, pecks, and a very well toned body.
My face exploded into a deep red blush when seeing this. Thoughts ran through my head as I was thinking about what I just saw, and why I saw it.
'I must've visited while he was showering..' I thought.
And when I thought I only had a measly crush on Rantaro. Seeing this part of him made my heart hammer in my chest as if it were a piece of wood. I was still shocked about this.
Rantaro hit the side of his head with his hand as if he was trying to get water out of his ear. It was a very hot position, making me blush more. NThis was the first time I was at a loss of words because of a hot boy.
"Is there something you need, (y/n)?" Rantaro asked me.
My face was still red as day. I slapped my cheeks to get ahold of myself. I had to be serious. I had to get answers out of this mysterious person. I breakers heavily for a few seconds before facing my resolve.
"I need to talk to you in your dorm," I explained.
This seemed to put a questioning look onto Rantaro's face. He seemed a bit weary as well. It was almost like he was trying to pinpoint what I wanted to talk with him about.
"Can you at least let me get a shirt on first?" Rantaro questioned.
Once again noticing that Rantaro was shirtless, I blushed madly at this. As a response, I nodded slowly. Noticing this, he smiled lightly at me.
"Thanks. I'll let you in once I get changed, sound like a plan?" Rantaro asked.
I once again nodded slowly in response. Rantaro shut the door of his room, leaving me in silence as he changed in his room. I was looking to the side, continuing to wait.
It seemed like hours went by as I waited, but in reality, it was a few minutes. Those few minutes were full of thoughts on Rantaro himself. Thoughts about how I'd never be good enough to be someone like him. Thoughts that I didn't even deserve to be his friend, but I knew he thought different. I did save his life with my newfound power... but was that all I was to him. Someone he owes because I saved his life? I only saved his life because I cared about him. I didn't want anything in return. I just wanted to be of use for everyone.
Soon enough, the door opened, revealing Rantaro with his usual gray shirt with stripes on it. His hair was still slightly damp from his shower, but his hair was more vibrant and shaped.
"I'm sorry that took so long. I had to fix my hair," Rantaro explained.
"Hey it's ok," I replied, "I shouldn't have come by while you were showering."
"So now that I'm all dressed, what do you want to talk to me about?" Rantaro asked.
"Let's go into your dorm room first. We don't want anyone eavesdropping on us," I replied.
"Ah-haha," Rantaro chuckled nervously, "I guess you're right about that. Silly me."
Rantaro then held the door open for me, allowing me access to his dorm. I blushed lightly at his gentleman like gesture as I walked into his dorm.
Rantaro's dorm was obviously very neat and well collected. Nothing has really changed since the last time I was here. I did notice one thing that was different though.
On the table of the dorm, I noticed a notepad and a pen lazily positioned there. It seemed like that's where he wrote stuff down, however I had no idea if he was just doodling or is he was actually taking notes there.
Taking all of this information from what I saw on the table, I sat on Rantaro's bed. He sat next to me as well.
"Now that we are here, I want you to tell me how you knew about the hidden door, and how you knew about the Ultimate Hunt," I explained.
Rantaro seemed unfazed by the question I asked. He dug his hands into his pockets as sweat rolled down his face.
"Somehow I knew you came to ask about that," Rantaro muttered.
"Can't you tell me though? I've trusted you with information that could kill me," I explained.
I turned on the the white noise machine before going to say my next piece.
"I told you about my power. If the mastermind finds out, I could surely be killed. Since I entrusted you with this information, I expect you to trust me with some information about you too. It's only fair," I explained.
"I guess if you put it that way, it makes sense. I mean you did save my life after all. Since you did that, I'll tell you everything. You have to keep it a secret though," Rantaro explained.
"You know I will..." I replied.
"Alright," Rantaro replied as he got up from his seat.
Rantaro walked to the other side of his bed, obviously checking for something.
(Obviously since Rantaro lived, Kokichi put a specific thing back)
He lifted up his pillow, and he pulled it out from there. I had no idea what he was holding, but it appeared to be some kind of tablet. It was black and white like our Monopads, but I felt as if this one was different.
Rantaro sat next to me without a word, obviously powering up the tablet. The screen flashed a dull blue before projecting the words, "Survivor Perk". I obviously had questions about what this could be. It was obvious that it was an advantage.
"(y/n), this is something I received when I woke up in this place," Rantaro explained.
"So you woke up with a tablet called the 'Survivor Perk'?" I asked, "what specifically is this?"
"This is a tablet that gives me a map of all of the academy, even the parts of the academy that weren't even discovered yet. There are five floors, and I know where everyone's labs are," Rantaro explained.
"So this is how you found out about the hidden door..." I muttered.
Rantaro nodded at me. This was getting more and more confusing. This Monopad Rantaro had, basically gave him every location of the academy. I'm guessing they wasn't all of it either.
"There is another thing on this too. Here, let me show you. I don't know how you'll react, but I trust you enough to read it," Rantaro explained.
He handed the strange Monopad to me. There was an icon that matched someone typing on a messaging app. I pressed it. Some sort of message was on the screen. It read as a clue to end the killing game.
'A clue to end the killing game?' I thought, 'what could that mean?'

'The Mastermind who is behind the killing game is hiding somewhere within the academy. Your best chance of exposing them is when Monokuma needs a spare. At that time, the Mastermind will go to the library's hidden room .
To prove this hint accurate, I will predict something. The first thing you will remember is the Ultimate Hunt.
Only share this information with people who you know you can trust. How you determine that will mean your life or your death. —Rantaro Amami'

My eyes were widened in shock as I read this. It never explained how he remembered or what he specifically remembered, but this hint was somehow true. The hidden door that Rantaro knew about... the fact that he needed to do this alone, meaning that he was waiting for the Mastermind to release the many spares for the motive.
Rantaro even knew about this Ultimate Hunt before everyone else. That was specifically something that that message predicted.
Then there came the last thing. The biggest mystery about this whole message. One that I couldn't understand, not unless Rantaro had some sort of Amnesia.
"Rantaro..." I muttered, "what does this message mean by "Rantaro Amami"?" I asked.

Reader knows about the Survivor Perk now... Yay!
I even added a shirtless Rantaro scene for all of you weirdos. Lol I'm just kidding! I love you all.
So I'm going to extend the Fanart Competition another week. June 17th is the due date. This is the last time I'm doing this. We need to move on! Ack!
Anyway... I'm out of school next week which means more updates! I hope you all keep reading! Ciao for now!- CRUSIFIXdroid
