Chapter 1 Part 4: Meeting in the Dining Hall

Your POV:

I woke up with the sound of the monitor. The Monokubs gave their annoying catchphrase. The time was 8:00 a.m., and they wanted us to face the blood drenched day.
I sighed lightly feeling very exhausted. I had no motivation to leave the room, despite all that had happened yesterday. I told Rantaro that I'd help him find his sisters. But what if he finds someone better..? What if he throws me out...? What if I'm all alone again...?
The doorbell ringing noise went off. The sound ringing though my eardrums. It was annoying. I went up to the door, opening it.
"Hello (y/n), good morning," Rantaro greeted.
"Good morning Rantaro...." I replied.
"You look exhausted. Are you alright? Did you get enough sleep?" Rantaro asked, bombarding me with questions.
"Yeah... I slept fine... I just feel no motivation to go to breakfast. I can't face everyone after what happened yesterday...." I explained in response.
Rantaro sighed in frustration. His hands were on his hips while he sighed.
"You seriously still think that? Even after telling you the people who stood up for you?" Rantaro asked.
"You forget the people who blamed me..." I replied.
"Well I'll make sure to protect you if that happens," Rantaro said in response.
I shut the door almost instantly. I sighed lightly before going back to bed. Before I could do so, I felt something grab my hand. I stopped moving from being in shock. My eyes were widened slightly. I soon heard someone breathing. It took me a moment to realize that someone was breathing in my ear.
"You should remember to keep your door locked," Rantaro whispered in my ear.
A bright red blush exploded onto my face as I stared panicking.
"I-I thought I kept that door locked!" I exclaimed, being obviously flustered.
Rantaro started laughing a bit, obviously amused by how I was acting. I felt myself get slightly upset that he was laughing at me.
"D-Do you really think this is funny?" I asked, trying to sound at least a bit upset.
"It's quite amusing I'll admit, but here is one thing I'm going to tell you," Rantaro told me.
"Wh-What is it?" I asked in response.
"Well... you say you aren't going to go to breakfast right?" Rantaro asked in response.
"Y-Yeah! I don't want to go," I replied quite desperately.
Rantaro then chuckled a little too darkly for my liking. His arm snaked behind my legs, and his other arm went and held my waist. With little to no effort, I was lifted up off of the ground a second later.
"If you don't want to go, then I'll just have to make you go," Rantaro told me after picking me up.
My face was very red. I had no idea how to react to this. I started struggling a bit.
"R-Rantaro! This isn't funny!" I exclaimed, "please put me down!"
"Nope. Like I told you, you're going to the dining hall whether you like it or not. I'm not taking no for an answer," Rantaro replied casually, "now with that out of the way, let's go."
Rantaro took me out of my room and headed for the outside entrance to the dining hall. He wore a smirk of triumph on his face. That look told me that he thought he had won.
"Rantaro... this seriously isn't funny.... please put me down..." I muttered.
"Hey (y/n), you can't get stronger if someone doesn't push you in the right direction. I'm here to help with that. I'm not going to push you in the right direction, I'm going to *pull* you in the right direction," Rantaro explained in response.
"You're basically forcing this on me...." I muttered.
"That's right. I can't have my partner be anti-social," Rantaro chuckled.
"I can't help it!" I exclaimed.
"I know. I was joking," Rantaro replied.
I was silent for the rest of the time. Rantaro made his way to the outdoor entrance. When he tried to go in, the door was locked.
"I guess this entrance is out of order for now. I'll just go inside the school then," Rantaro muttered.
Rantaro then made his way to the school, walking in. He took me down the halls to the indoor entrance to the Dining Hall. He walked in the dining hall, me in his arms.
"Good morning..." Rantaro greeted.
Everyone who was in the room at the time gave Rantaro and I strange looks. They seemed to be weirded out by the fact I was carried here instead of walking.
"Uh... Rantaro.... why are you carrying (y/n)?" Shuichi asked, being very confused.
"Well (y/n) tried to refuse to come to breakfast. I decided that I'd have to force her to come rather than leaving her to starve," Rantaro replied.
"Did you really have to carry her you degenerate male?" Tenko asked.
I sighed lightly. I was feeling embarrassed.
"Can you please put me down now?" I asked.
"Alright, but no running away. Alright?" Rantaro told me in response.
I was set back on the ground. My mind was fogged over what just happened.
'Rantaro carried me to the dining hall.... so embarrassing...' I thought.
I silently walked over to a chair, sitting in it. I sighed lightly.
"Anyway... (y/n), are you alright? You ran off last night. It worried most of us..." Shuichi said.
"It was that degenerate, Kokichi's fault though!" Tenko exclaimed.
"Tenko... how could you say that.... that's so mean... why do you blame me? WAHHHH! YOU'RE SO MEAN!" Kokichi cried in response.
"Please stop fighting," I muttered.
"Will you both cut it out?" Kirumi asked, being the mother-like maid.
"Alright Kirumi, but the next time I see him, his face is going into the ground," Tenko threatened.
"I'd like to see you try Tenko," Kokichi replied, sounding very unconcerned.
"Oh-ho. You're asking for it you degenerate!" Tenko shouted.
"STOP IT!" I shouted, causing Tenko and Kokichi to be quiet, "I don't want
anymore fighting. Yesterday everyone fought because of what I did yesterday. Just let me take the blame so we can get past this..."
I sighed lightly, looking down at the table. Taking the blame was the best thing I could do for everyone.
"Don't blame yourself (y/n). I won't let you take the blame," Kaito said with a thumbs up.
Suddenly, the doors flew open, revealing the second person who was yelled at for trying to keep hope. Kaede...
"Oh, everyone's here already," Kaede said in shock.
"Now...all of us have arrived," Kiyo observed, "kehehe...I'm glad. It looks as though there were no victims."
"But of course!" Kiibo exclaimed in response.
"By the way... are you okay, Kaede? Are you alright, (y/n)?" Kokichi asked.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Kaede asked.
"Well...you looked very bummed out after everyone started blaming you yesterday," Kokichi explained with a slight smirk, "and everyone was blaming you after you ran off, (y/n)."
"H-Hey... What are you doing all of—" Tsumugi asked, being suddenly interrupted.
"Seriously, you guys are so mean. Those poor girls..." Kokichi said in what seemed like fake concern and sad mockery, "they tried their best to encourage everyone, and you sore losers got mad at them anyway."
"What's the point of bringing that up again?" Kiibo asked angrily.
"Actually...didn't *you* blame them first? I made this point earlier you know," Tenko replied.
"Eh? N-Now it's my fault? Why are you guys ganging up on me?" Kokichi asked in fake sadness, "WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! You guys are terrible! So horrible, so mean!"
"Hmph, you're too noisy. Cut it out. You reacted this way just a few minutes ago..." Ryoma said.
"But it's true. Everyone blamed (y/n) and Kaede without taking any responsibility themselves," Kaito explained.
"Hey, come on now. Everyone was probably just tired," Rantaro explained.
"Shut it! That's no excuse!" Kaito exclaimed angrily.
"No, it's okay! It doesn't bother me!" Kaede exclaimed.
"It doesn't really bother me..." I replied, obviously lying.
"It's just....we should've been more considerate of everyone's feelings," Kaede explained, "I know for a fact that we both were focused on the tunnel. I know for a fact that (y/n) just wanted everyone to escape. Be friends. So, I'm sorry."
"I apologize as well everyone..." I said.
"...Alright, well... If you're both okay with it, then so am I," Kaito said.
"Phew, cool beans! Now everything's settled!" Kokichi exclaimed.
"...But you did blame them first, didn't you?" Kiibo asked.
"Well, that was a lie. Y'know, one of those lies to make us more united or whatever," Kokichi replied.
My eyes widened slightly. My eyebrows narrowed slightly.
'Do you even know what I went through... you told me that I'd lose everyone here. You caused me to have a breakdown! The only person who actually cared for my well being was Rantaro! He consoled me until I felt better. You caused my suffering and never even said sorry!" I thought.
Those thoughts ran through my head. I was tempted to say it out out. If it was a good lie, then I wouldn't have been effected by it.
"Did you know half of my lies are actually told with good intentions?" Kokichi asked.
"Now *that* sounds like a lie," Himiko replied.
"Let's just forget about it and discuss something else," Kaede replied, "Okay? Let's all think about ways to get out of here."
Suddenly we heard something pop up. I looked down, and was graced with Monokuma's presence.
"Before you do that, I have an announcement!" Monokuma exclaimed.
    "Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" Kaede screamed.
"Hey, why do you keep on appearing when we are trying to escape? It's too much stress!" Tsumugi exclaimed.
(Had to edit that line so it doesn't hint as her being the mastermind... that's all Kokichi)
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean not to surprise you," Monokuma giggled.
"So you did mean to surprise us," Himiko said.
    "Well? Your announcement?" Rantaro asked.
"It's not terribly important, but... It's easier to stay alive by being an obvious goody two-shoes, right? Being thrust into a killing game doesn't mean you'll be able to kill someone easily... So I figured I'd ease you into the killing game by giving you a motivation to kill," Monokuma explained.
    "...Motivation to kill?" Maki asked.
"In short, a motive! That oughta add some mystery to the proceedings!" Monokuma exclaimed, "even if a killer is exposed, they could whip out a sob story to deceive everyone!"
"Wh-What are you saying? Your logic is impossible to understand...!" Kiibo exclaimed.
"I will now announce the first motive! Make sure you record this moment for posterity!" Monokuma shouted.
Monokuma's left eye suddenly started glowing. It was a sign that something dark was going to be said.
"Now then, the special motive I've prepared is called the First Blood Perk! Wow! For the first murder that occurs, no class trial will be held! Can you believe it? That means the first one to kill someone will get to graduate, no strings attracted!" Monokuma exclaimed.
"No class trial will be held?" Maki asked.
"I'm sorry that I made the class trial seem more important than it really is... So for the first murder, I've decided not to hold a class trial at all. Please just relax, and kill! After all, the first one's free!" Monokuma exclaimed happily.
"Huh? That's all? We just gotta kill someone to get outta here!?" Miu exclaimed.
"Miu, do you even know what you're saying?" I asked.
"*That's all*!? What's that supposed to mean!? Please just calm down!" Kiibo exclaimed.
"First Blood Perk!? Don't make it sound like some kind of game show bonus!" Tenko shouted nervously.
"Puhuhu... You say that, but I bet you're really happy, huh?" Monokuma giggled.
"There's no way I'm happy!" Tenko shouted in response.
"S-Stop messing around... Do you think this is fun for us?" Kaede asked.
    "...Hm?" Monokuma asked.
"Do you really think I'd kill someone just to get out?" Kaede asked, "in your dreams! We're not gonna lose to you! We promised each other that we'd escape from this place!"
"Puhuhu... Spare me your false bravado. You should be focusing on how you plan to survive. You just gotta kill someone, right?" Monokuma explained.
"Why you...bastard!" Kaito growled.
"Kaito... calm down..." I said, trying to stay calm.
"I see... The prisoner's dilemma. How very clever of you, Monokuma," Rantaro said.
"Huh? What's that?" Kaito asked in response.
"We all know it's better to cooperate rather than betray each other, right?" Rantaro asked, "but if you don't cooperate, you receive some benefit no one else gets. It's an incentive to betray the group to give yourself an advantage. With that in the back of our minds, we're less likely to cooperate. That's Monokuma's plan. To make a non-cooperative game that tanks Kaede and (y/n)'s plan to get us to cooperate."
"What?" Kaede asked in shock.
"And if a murder were to occur...it'd be even more unlikely that we'd cooperate," Shuichi explained.
"It's likely he created this perk for that sole purpose," Kiyo explained.
"Right? I bet you can't stand the tension in the air, right? So it's better to just kill!" Monokuma explained happily.
"Wh-What...? You..." Tenko said in shock.
"It seems you are quite serious about forcing us to participate in this killing game," Kirumi explained, "what exactly is your objective?"
"His objective doesn't matter! I'm through letting him have his way!" Kaito shouted, "I've had enough!!!"
Kaito lunged at Monokuma to grab him, but the Monokubs popped up. They seemed excited, because "they had a volunteer" to murder, using the Exisals. I was in shock as the Monokubs hopped into their mechs. We all told Kaito to run away. Soon, the sound of crashing metal rang though our ears.
Monokuma let out a frustrated growl before exploding under the foot of an Exisal. The shock caused me to stay still. I let out a slight sigh in relief.
'Is he finally dead?' I thought.

So this is the next chapter. Sorry if it isn't that good. I've been on edge all week. Stuff has happened. Like a lot of stressful school work. The winner for this week's prompt is _Aesthetic_Panta_
She has a two page comic. The second part will be edited in tomorrow.

This is amazing so far! Keep up the good work.

Prompt 5: "Reader-Chan's childhood prediction"

Basically this one is a prediction of a young reader-chan. Like middle school and younger. I wish you luck!-CRUSIFIXdroid.
