Chapter 1 Part 11: Deadly Life

Your POV:

"You... promised me that you'd live..."

The words left my mouth in ugly sobs, as I sat there alone, crying. My form sat near the corpse of my former friend, sobbing and shaking. The pain pierced my heart, leaving it to bleed out sorrow and despair.
Another flash went off. I paid no mind to it as I continued grieving over my best friend, dead on the floor.
I heard the door slam open. Someone... no some people were running in as if it were life or death. In this situation, it was death.
I heard foot steps come closer. Soon enough, the people who walked in were at the scene of the crime as well.
"Oh, Rantaro...?" Kaede's voice questioned, "(y/n) too? What in the world!? What the hell is going on!?"
I broke down crying, once more, letting out huge wails as if I were going though the biggest pain of my life. My face was red and my eyes were getting red and puffy from all of the crying.
I heard someone's voice let out a huge scream. It was Tenko's voice. She was most likely shocked about it as well. After she screamed, the library door burst open. Her scream most likely alerted everyone else in the hallway. The others stationed in the hallway came into the room.
I looked up at everyone, tears in my eyes. I was having trouble breathing without sobbing.
"Wh-What happen? Why (y/n) crying? Gonta hear scream—" Gonta explained his face suddenly becoming that of a terrified expression, "huh? Waaaaaaaaahhhh!!! B-Blood...! So much blood!"
    "Nyeeeh...?" Himiko questioned.
"Huhhhh? Isn't that Rantaro? What's wrong with him?" Angie asked.
"Don't you get it Angie!?" I exclaimed, my emotions releasing like a coursing river, "He is dead! He is gone! Someone killed him! HE DIED!"
Everyone seemed very surprised at my outburst. I stood up and went closer to Rantaro's body, mentally saying my apologies. I felt useless at that moment. I couldn't protect someone that I cared about.
More tears fell out of my eyes, some of them falling onto the face of the former student, soaking into his skin afterwards. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder. I turned around swing Shuichi.
"Aren't you taking it a little too far. (y/n), you're over reacting a little," Shuichi told me.
"You tell me I'm over reacting?" I asked, my eyebrows narrowing slightly, "that is bullshit Shuichi! I have a right to be upset as I am now! I've gotten to know Rantaro ever since we were trapped in this shithole! I'm probably the person closest to Rantaro in this damn school! You'd probably be acting the same way if Kaede were on the floor instead of Rantaro! If you're friend was dead on the floor, you wouldn't be acting at calm as you are now! And you're saying I'm overreacting... SHUT THE FUCK UP SHUICHI, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH!"

A dull sound rang through the room, as if it were more shocking than the outburst I had. A hand collided with my cheek, creating a sharp sense of pain in that area. My eyes were widened in shock when it happened. I was slapped, by the same person as the day I met them.
"You went too far.." Kaito told me, "I'm sorry, but I had to do that..."
My hand traveled to the cheek he hit. I cradled my face not saying a word. More tears fell out of my eyes. I knew I wasn't going to speak anymore. My point of view wasn't welcome.
The group of people talked about the shocking scene in front of them. The monitor was off, signifying something. If they thought Rantaro was the mastermind, they were very wrong. I knew Rantaro wasn't the mastermind.

*ding dong, dong ding!*

The monitor turned on, as I directed my attention to it. Monokuma was there with a glass of champagne. There was dishes on the table he was sitting at.
"A body has been discovered! Everyone, please report to the library!" Monokuma announced.
(FYI I'm going to do a brief summary on what they talked about before the people from the dining hall walked in. And I'm going to summarize the first blood perk announcement. Basically I don't wanna do the dialogue, and I'm a busy bee this week)
Monokuma then popped up, shocking everyone. The bear told everyone that the killing game was continuing, which was no surprise to me at all. Rantaro wasn't even the mastermind, so I wasn't shocked. The rest of the people from upstairs made it down to the library, making a scene about Rantaro's corpse. The Monokubs ran in, making a scene too.
Then came the question of a lifetime... "Who killed Rantaro?". That person was standing in the crowd. The Monokubs told that person to raise their hand. Everyone stood silently, not moving an inch. No one ever raised their hand. The bears then decided to hold a class trial. They told us we had a limited amount of time to investigate. If we got it wrong, we die. Except the blackened of course. If we get it right, the blackened dies. After that was drilled into our heads, the bears left, and everyone got started.
"Heyyyy (y/n)!" Kokichi exclaimed, "let's work together!"
"(y/n), you haven't been speaking for a while. Are you alright?" Kirumi asked.
A lot of emotions were pent up inside of me. That question crumbled the wall of my well being.
"No I'm not... how could I be alright with this?" I asked, "how could I be alright with my friend dying? How could I be alright when I'm crying? How could I be alright when I'm upset and displaying it? I got slapped for feeling emotion. How does that make me feel. It makes me feel like I should just stop talking and die. It makes me feel like you guys don't care! Heck, you all probably think I'm at fault for this! I should've been the one to die. Not Rantaro. It was all my fault... I'm not investigating. I need to be alone..."
With that, I left the room as a crying mess. I had my last pillar of hope taken away from me. I was a very miserable mess.

Kokichi's POV:

"Wooooow, Kaito, you're so harsh. Slapping a girl because she was upset that her crush died!" I exclaimed cheekily.
"Hey! She was yelling at Shuichi and basically cursing the world half to death!" Kaito replied.
"Nee-hee-hee! You really are an asshole Kaito," I replied.
I was actually upset with Kaito for slapping my beloved (y/n). I mean, I finally got Rantaro out of the picture. (y/n) should be glad that I did so for her.
I smiled at the crowd of people, shocked about what my future lover said.
"That prissy bitch is a drama queen. And I'm pretty fuckin' sure she killed Rantaro," Miu explained angrily.
"Nyeh, what makes you say that?" Himiko asked.
"The little attention whore was close to Rantaro. She probably used her relationship with him to her advantage," Miu scoffed in response.
"Well... (y/n) was in the room first when we say her," Kaede added nervously.
"But that's because Rantaro went missing, and she went to look for him. She told us she would," Tenko replied.
"Guys, let's not worry. As soon as the pictures are done, we will know. Now Shuichi, go talk to (y/n)," Kaede said.
"Do you want me to question her on her alibi?" Shuichi asked Piano freak.
    "Yes I do," she replied.
I scoffed, looking to the side. I wasn't going to kill (y/n) off. Even if I did, it wouldn't be this chapter.

Your POV:

I sat near the girls bathroom near the dining hall. It was the first place Rantaro and I had our heart to heart talk. Fresh tears streamed out of my eyes as I remembered the memories of him.
"I should've told him that I loved him..." I muttered to myself.
I buried my face into my knees as I tried to hide myself from everything. The scenery. The school. Everything...
Quiet footsteps were heard coming from the hallway that led to the basement. The person got closer and closer, until a gust of wind was felt on my skin. The presence of someone was next to me. More tears fell out of my eyes. It reminded me of what Rantaro did when Miu upset me.
"Hey.... (y/n)?" Shuichi's voice called.
My eyes widened slightly from where I was positioned. I kept my face hidden however. This was exactly like how Rantaro was, and it saddened me more.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying my best not to sob while talking.
"Listen," Shuichi sighed, "I know you were very close to Rantaro. I know you care a lot about him, but we cannot change what happened to him."
"Is that your way of saying that I can't do anything?" I asked, "everyone gets upset with me for expressing my emotions. Everyone says I'm wrong.... I get hit and ganged up on."
"No, no, no!" Shuichi exclaimed in protest, "I meant that we can't change the past. We can only remember and move on. I want to avenge Rantaro, and I know you want to too. I need you to answer this truthfully. What were you doing at the scene of the crime?"
I unhid myself, looking at Shuichi, a few tears still in my eyes. I rubbed them and sighed.
"You probably won't believe me, but I was one of the people in the group that was conversing downstairs. The others were Himiko, Tenko, Gonta, Kaito, Maki, Angie, and... Rantaro. Gonta went missing during the meeting before I went in a daze. I know it sounds silly right? Please bear with me. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a strange music play. It was the horrid video Monokuma played about an hour before the announcement. I noticed Rantaro left, so I went to look for him. My first instinct was the library, because we read manga there yesterday. When I went to the back bookshelf, I found him dead. I'm guessing everyone thinks I did it because I was the first one to discover the body... it's understandable," I explained.
That alibi was the truth. I knew no one would believe me even if I pleaded a thousand times. I was the most suspicious one. Not anyone else.
"Thank you (y/n). I hope you are telling me the truth," Shuichi replied.
"Why wouldn't I tell you the truth? I'm guessing you don't believe me... I don't blame you..." I replied.
"That's not it. Everyone is a suspect right now. Just calm down," Shuichi replied.
"If you think it's me Shuichi, then you are wrong..." I muttered before getting up.
I left the blue haired detective with a frown on my face. I knew I would be questioned by everyone. I knew I would be hated by everyone. I already know they think I did it.
I walked to the dining hall with a sigh. I sat down at the table. A popping sound was heard suddenly, a black and white bear appearing.
"Why are you so depressed? You should be investigating," Monokuma told me.
"I'm not going to, so go mess with someone else," I replied, sending a harsh glare at Monokuma.
"Jeez how cold..... you kids and your scary faces," Monokuma replied dejectedly, "but any-who, you should be happy that someone died. That means you don't get to die!"
"Rantaro dying isn't what I wanted, so shut up," I replied.
Before Monokuma could interject, I left the room, going to the Warehouse. I waited there for a little bit, but then something happened.
Everyone walked into the storage room and one of the Monokubs had a envelope with pictures. I walked over to get a good look at them, but I didn't want to talk to anyone.
The first picture was of Rantaro walking into the library through the sliding door. The next picture was Rantaro pulling the hidden bookcase. Something was different. The lighting looked different. The third picture was Rantaro in front of the book case, looking towards the camera. That was the spot where he died. The fourth picture was of me seeing the body. I was shocked about it. The fifth picture was me on my knees crying. The last few pictures were people entering and of Shuichi taking the cameras down.
Everyone looked at me, chatting amongst themselves. It didn't take a genius to figure out what that meant. It meant they thought it was me.
Soon after that we were all called to go to the shrine of judgement. That was where the trial would be held. Once we got there, the statue broke what it was carrying and disappeared into the waterfall, revealing an elevator. We all got in soon after that and we began our descent.

Rantaro Amami.... the first victim. He was my friend and my ally throughout the days of us being trapped here. He was murdered by a shot put ball. We had so much to learn about him, but he died. I had to avenge him.

I entered the trial room after the elevator stopped and opened. I said my first set of words to everyone.
"I will avenge Rantaro." I said, determination I my eyes.

This chapter wasn't so good. I had to summarize most of it because of time. We would be here for a long time if I explained everything. I also was busy this week with prom tomorrow and whatnot. There will be no prompt this week. (The art I used for this something I made in December...)
The fanart competition for the dr I want to make ends Sunday. I need the art in ASAP. Next week is the trial. Despite this being a shithole chapter, u hope you enjoyed it..- CRUSIFIXdroid
