I was walking along with me and my best friend, Carmen, on the boardwalk. Me and him have been best friends since grade school since as long as we can remember. We are now in our senior year in highschool. And decided before we gradute in a few days to explore our favorite place where we would always hangout, especially during the Fourth of July for the fireworks.

I was eating my ice cream cone and has accidently gotten some on my face. I turned to Carmen to ask for a napkin but instead he chuckled and wiped it off with his thumb.

I simply stared at him for bit before looking away, and so did he. I felt my cheeks get a bit warm and took another lick of my ice cream in hopes to cool them down.

I didn't want to tell him how I felt. How embarrassing that would be. Especially since I am a guy and he is too. Plus!!! What if he doesn't feel the same as me and rejects me and we won't be friends anymore??

I can't stand losing my best friend!

Next thing I know is that my face is being turned towards Carmen's as he pulls me in for a kiss.

I can't help but feel my legs weaken as they turned to jelly. I drop my ice cream on the boardwalk, as my eyes widen, unsure of what to do, since it was my first kiss.

But before I could kiss back, he pulled away... and looked down on the ground, his head hanging low.

"I umm... I-"

He wouldn't say anything else because I wouldn't let him as I pulled his shirt down for a kiss, making sure my lips met his.

I than pulled away licking my lips as he just stares at me in pure shock at what I had done.

I bit my bottom lip as I look up at him, but on the inside I felt no shame in what I had just did, in fact I was feeling mighty impressed with what I had done.

"Jasper...," he began in whisper," I never..."

"I know Carmen," I told him with a smile and blush appearing on my face," I feel the same way too."

And before I know it I am pulled into another kiss. I could have sworn I saw fireworks...

************10 years later***********

I woke up the next morning, and felt arms around me. I had my day off from work today and decide to spend it with my family. I turned to face the man beside me and smiled as I admired his features.

Carmen than opened his eyes and looked at me happily with a smile as he gave me a good morning kiss. Soon our bedroom door was thrown opened and our kids were jumping on the bed saying they wanted pancakes.

I turned to Carmen and gave him a smile. As I began to remember that one beauitful night.
