Vocaloid Covers

Dark days are necessary,

Just as important as the rest,

For if we didn't have the worst,

We couldn't recognize the best.

Hello everyone reading this and happy poetry month! Personally, poetry has been a major part of my life and it's truly beautiful to see what people can do with words. It's taught me to think differently and see the world as more than just dirt on rock, life and death. In this wonderful covers list today we're going to be looking at songs with deep meanings or stories and perfectly poetic lyrics.

Witch (Hunt), JubyPhonic-

This list can't be considered a Vocaloid covers list without Juby in it- girl's got vocals. This may not be her finest work, due to her lack of vocal control, but it certainly isn't any less amazing. Well, the story behind this song basically describes a girl who falls in love with a prince and the prince loves her back. However, out of jealousy, another girl accuses the girl of witchcraft saying that her love was all a spell. Because of this, the people tie the girl to the steak and burn her away. Somewhat of a basic love story, right? Not quite. Taking a deeper look, you can see, that this can be said to happen everyday. The girl represents innocence and happiness, the prince represents the point of trust, and the jealous lover can represent greed and hatred. The translyrics of this song were written in such a way that just radiates with this idea. All the girl wants is the happiness and love she had felt when she had the prince- if she couldn't have that, then she was willing to burn.

Tied me tight to a cross I looked longing at the sky!

Penitence for your crime,

Penitence and your life!

If I pray who will hear I am drowning in their cheers

Devotion turned to dusty tombs!

If my love was just a curse then I have only tears to shed!

Penitence for your crime,

Penitence and your life!

Let it light

Let it burn out bright and choke out all your spite!

No god can help her find her way!

Like a flame burning bloody red and tearing into sky

Penitence for your crime,

Penitence and your life!

Take these tears,

Tell their story and please don't forget to cry

Feel now the weight of death and lies!

Karakuri Burst, Julia and Kyan-

This song is definitely very different than the previous song and it certainly has more... energy. The way it's noted though with the timing and breaks is great and makes the song just beautiful. Admittedly, the vocals aren't the best, but it was the best one for all the covers done on this song. The story behind this one is complicated and will make more sense if you listen to the rest of the series (Karakuri Series). What it is, is a girl and a boy. One is a mass murderer and the other a government solider and they both have very different ideas on what evil is. The girl argues that the entire world is only composed of evil whereas the boy believes it's crime. Eventually they cross weapons and are evenly matched. In the end, they realize, they've known each other all along. How it ends-- is a mystery. I chose this song out of all the other amazing other songs out there purely for its meaning and lyrics. The story itself is one that makes you think about all the corruption in this world and how that plays on us. Not only that, but for some of you, it maybe can make you rethink your current situation and how it could differ if something in your past changed. And the lyrics- they're written in such a confusing manner yet in a way that you can still somewhat understand. This song, is the embodiment of what a poem should be.

How FRAGILE how FRAGILE human beings are!

All evil will be vanquished

Meltdown, Navi-

Definitely not the best Meltdown cover but this is someone who can improve over time with a little practice- her vocal range is certainly there. Everyone deserves a chance, after all. The beginning of this cover starts rather unbalanced but it does get better towards the middle as her voice picks up more momentum as the song progresses. Ok, so the story behind this song is also rather complex. There are very many different theories and variations of the song's actual plot, but in a general sense, there's someone who murdered someone and then ends up regretting to the person shows her want for redemption by jumping into a nuclear reactor. Pretty crazy, no doubt, but like any other great songwriter- the original writer had a message they wanted to convey when they wrote this song. It's about regret. Sometimes we do things we deeply regret and want to run away from, to forget, anything- That's all the person in the song wanted. This cover in particular stood out to me because in a way you can feel the pain in the singer's voice through every note and tremolo emitted. The lyrics she used also hide and convey the story so well all at the same time. You really have to give it a second listen to fully understand the intentions behind the confusing song.

Upon the side of a lonely balcony

I hear the sound of going upstairs-

The sky that has so slowly shrouded finally

Is dropping upon the window squares

I see the twilight is scattering light

The burning sun is casting a ruby red cry

As if I'm gradually melting tonight

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Say this cauldron made to only fuse
I think by diving in I would
By diving deep inside all the memories fade away
And melt away in pure white light...
People don't appreciate poetry enough anymore and it's a little sad to watch. What they don't understand is the beauty in these words and the meanings people can gain from them. These messages can teach people so much if they'd only just listen. Lyrics are more than just words put to a tune and hopefully, with time, the rest of the world can understand this and embrace the beauty of it all as a whole.
There are things
Things that make
Even dirt look like
It's worth more
Than what anyone ever bargained for
Things that make you contemplate
Your thoughts and then-
Drown you in their wonder
If you saw
But no
They're simply-
Unseen.
