Hello, fellow fanfiction authors!! Here, I have a few practical tips and advice on mainstream clichés that will hopefully help you to write fanfiction well!

~Fanfiction Advice~

♢ First impressions are very crucial; the first thing people see from your fanfiction is your cover. Depending on what story you're writing and what style you have, the cover may attract certain types of Vocaloid fans. Since you're writing a Vocaloid fanfiction, it is always keen to actually have a Vocaloid in your cover, otherwise someone scrolling through the numerous fanfictions may think that it is just "clickbait". For the covers, remember to stick to something relevant to the story and something you feel comfortable with.

♢ Stick to a writing style that makes you feel comfortable. There are many types of writing styles; gothic, humorous, serious, etc. Depending on the story, your writing style may be subject to change. I would recommend just keeping a consistent writing style for one book so that you will not confuse the reader; however, if your Vocaloid fanfiction changes perspective; two different Vocaloid perspectives might have different writing styles, then you can keep it that way (since it is part of the story to switch perspectives).

~Mainstream Plot~

One recurring mainstream plot or idea is a "love triangle", which goes along someone being in love with two people and the two people often quarrel to get his or hers attention. Often, in vocaloid fanfictions, either Miku or Len would be the center of a love triangle. Occasionally, the plot completes with 2 endings, going by the readers' ship to satisfy them or the story finishes with the author's planned couple.
