Luka rushed through the door, "come on, we're leaving."

Eliana grunted in frustration, "I know, just one more time."

"One more," he agreed, unable to give in to those puppy dog eyes. Luka moved forward, grabbing Eliana and kissing her passionately on the lips as if this were to be the last time they saw each other.

A grin printed itself across both their faces as Eliana pulled away, "I'll be as quick as I can." Seeing the concern on Luka's face she added, "don't worry, it's probably safer if I get stuck here anyway."

Another quick kiss then Luka left the room chuckling. Eliana moved back to the tablet. Willing the connection once more, she pressed the message button. The circle spun round on the screen, the word 'connecting' underneath. A few seconds later the ringing began. To her surprise, there was an answer. "Hello?" came a hushed voice.

"Where are you? I've been..."

Before she managed to finish, Kira raised her voice, not quite to normal volume but louder than a whisper, "you need to be quieter."

"Why?" Eliana replied, ignoring the command.

"We're hiding in a cave?"

"Why are you in a cave?"

"It's a long story, but basically we escaped from a village last night and slept in this cave, now the villagers are outside looking for us."

"O...K...well I've been trying to contact you for ages, some things have happened since you were gone."

"Like what?"

"Princips has passed a law to destroy the slums, they are going to wipe them off the planet one by one." The silence told Eliana just how badly Kira had taken the news, but she needed to know, needed to understand why she should not carry on to her slum. "I'm sorry, there's worse news." Still no response. "Your slum is the first to go." Eliana heard a muffled grunt, she swore there was the dull thud of Kira punching a wall. "Look, the good news is that Du Puteron is sending out a team to stop the attack. It is time, Kira, it is time to make the stand."

"And what do I do?" Eliana could hear the tears.

"We will pick you up, tell me where you are, I will send one of the planes to get you."

Another pause, "wait, why are you telling me this on the watch? I thought Du Puteron said not to use it, that Princips could track it."

"Err...yeah...it's fine...I have bounced the signal around different satellites, if they were looking for you, which they are not, they could not pinpoint your location, it also means I can't either."

Eliana heard talking, only now did she realise someone else was with Kira, "who's with you?"

"A friend, someone who helped me escape, she's part of the resistance now."

"Do you trust her?"

"Yes." After more hushed talk, Kira continued, "we have sent you our coordinates, we'll wait in the cave till we hear you."

A melodic tone revealed the receipt of the data, "got them, stay safe, we're on our way." Eliana ended the connection as she ran for the door, she had the information she needed, she would pass it on to her superiors, now all she hoped is that they got there in time.
