Chapter 5 - Popcorn

So you might be wondering, how did I get into this situation? Well, I was enjoying my moments alone, filling my mouth with the savory taste of buttered popcorn, gracefully making my way up the stairs when suddenly, I was slung out of the hallway by a dark hand and yanked into a room, losing a majority of popcorn from the bowl. It was sad, I didn't even get to say bye to my lover. My buttered popcorn.

"Oh, nice! Popcorn!" The figure in front of me beamed, taking a handful of the savory snack out of the bowl in my hands.

"Travis, what the heck!" I bewailed, "My popcorn! Now you have to make more!"

"Woah, woah, be quiet. We don't want to get caught here."

I furrowed my eyes at the mischievous boy in front of me, my mind counting the seconds I'm missing out on the My Little Horsies episode. "Wow, look! You scared me, good job. Now I must be on my way."

My hand was on the doorknob when Travis pulled me back, dragging me further into the room. "Wait, I really need you," Travis whined, "I have a plan on how to get Katelyn jealous."

I rose my eyebrow at him. "Oh, and you're going to use me to get her."

"Exactly!"

"News flash, Snow White, I have a boyfriend."

When I turned around again, Travis scrambled in front of me. "That doesn't matter, we just need to look close."

"There's a lot of people you can ask to do this with, you know? Why don't you get Kawaii~Chan or something?"

"Because she'd ruin it! She'd blurt out my entire plan to the whole resort."

I shook my head even though I knew that he was right, Kawaii~Chan probably would do something like that. "Haven't you learned from what happened at the arcade?"

*Flashback*

I hit the floor pretty hard but it wasn't anything overwhelming. What did freak me out was when I opened my eyes. Travis was situated on top of me, his cheeks red and his eyes had a sorry look in them. But before I could do anything, Travis was ripped off of me by Zane. "What the heck!" Zane yelled at Travis, his hand still gripping onto his shirt.

"I-I just tripped!" Travis said in defense, holding his hands up.

"From what I saw, you didn't trip at all! You did that on purpose!" Zane argued back. I have never seen Zane this angry before. He was absolutely enraged. A hand was put in front of my face, causing me to look at the owner. I took Aphmau's hand and stood up, thanking her.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Travis responded, trying to walk away but Zane wouldn't let go of his shirt.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about! You're not allowed to do that to her!"

"Well, it's not like you're dating or anything," Travis smiled at him.

Zane hesitated at first but leaned in close to his ear, saying something that I couldn't hear. Travis' face paled and his eyes went wide before Zane let go of his shirt, glaring at him. Zane looked at me and quickly took my hand, pulling me out of the arcade.

*End of flashback*

Travis shuddered, his eyes glazing over from thinking about the whole ordeal. "That was uncalled for," He replied, pointing his finger at me. Before I could respond to him, he continued, "Look, I love Katelyn, okay? Is it too hard for you to help me express my love to her?"

I deadpanned, not believing what he was saying. "So you're showing your love by making her jealous."

"Well, it worked for Zane!"

"Okay, okay, fine. I'll do it. What's the plan?"

Just to be clear, some of these chapters might be pretty short compared to the ones I've been doing. I'm not putting a minimum of 1000 words on myself for this book anymore to hopefully keep me motivated.
