The lingering kiss was still felt by her on her cheek and her blush was the exact outcome of it.

Dadi(smiles): Billu has changed for good. I am so happy. Thank you so much Anika beta.
Anika: I haven't done anything Dadi.
Dadi: You don't know what you have done. (looks at her confused state) I will tell you everything. But before that promise me..... Promise me that whatever the thing maybe you will never leave Billu and go. Promise me.
Anika(holding her hand in assurerance): Dadi.... I have accepted Shivaay as Shivaay only not as Shivaay Singh Oberoi. For the world he maybe SSO but for me he is that cute billuji who gets annoyed hearing Billu,who is bowled out with my tadi. For me Shivaay is Shivaay and not SSO. But I am scared of only one thing.
Dadi: What?
Anika: Don't take me wrong Dadi but..... I know Shivaay's ideologies regarding naam khoon and khandan and I fear that he will be broken when he hears about it. (tightens her hold) Please tell me Dadi that all these aren't true. Shivaay is Shakti uncle's son. Please tell me whatever I heard before was all false.
Dadi(sad smile): Kaash aisa hi hota putter. But the truth is.....

" He/ You isn't/ aren't an Oberoi......." , Dadi and Jayesh said it together to both Anika and Shivaay.

Both Anika and Shivaay closed their eyes in pain hearing it - Shivaay due to knowing his truth about his birth and Anika due to Shivaay's pain.

(Just think that both of them will be saying the same thing to the respective person in parallelly. So I will type only once. I hope I am clear. Any confusion pls ping)

Dadi: Pinky became the bahu of Oberois but we didn't know that she was hiding such a huge secret from everyone......

*FLASHBACK STARTS*
*27 YEARS AGO*
(Shivaay is 26 years while Anika is 25 years currently)
*Punjab*

The Oberoi family used to stay in Punjab at that time and Pritviraj Singh Oberoi was in Mumbai setting up the famous Oberoi industries. Dadi, Kalyani Singh Oberoi was looking around for perfect bahus for her sons.

*Phone conversation*
Dadi: Tej and Shakti aren't willing to get married. But this can't be happening. They need to get married and till how long will I continue to handle the house.
Dadaji: Oh ho don't worry. They will agree to it.
Dadi: How? I have even looked for their perfect matches.
Dadaji: Who?
Dadi: Janvi Singhaniya ......
Dadaji: Singhaniya sahab ki beti?
Dadi: Haa...... For Tej. And Naina Rajput for Shakti.
Dadaji: Doesn't Rajput Sahab have an elder daughter?
Dadi: Haa.... Pinky but they have sent proposal for their younger daughter.
Dadaji: Strange....
Dadi: Let's see what happens. I was thinking of meeting them.
Dadaji: Yaa go ahead.
Dadi: I don't want to go alone.

As scheduled,Dadi went to meet the Singhaniyas and instantly liked Janvi. Tej too agreed for it and was quite impressed with Janvi's bold and mature nature. Dates were fixed for their marriage and in the meantime Dadi went to the Rajputs for Shakti's proposal. But an unexpected twist occured.

Mr.Rajput: Kalyani ji..... I am very sorry...... But.....
Dadi: Just say it aloud without any fear.
Mrs. Rajput: Actually..... Our elder daughter Pinky..... She.... She..... Has some feelings for Shakti and Naina when she heard it back out of the marriage.
Dadi: So what's the problem in it? Aare I like both of your daughters. And I guess....(looks at Shakti) Shakti is also more interested in Pinky. Am I right Shakti?
Shakti(shies): Maa....
Mr. Rajput(laughs): So it's final ..... Pinky and Shakti will get married.
Dadi: Let's set the engagement on my elder son's marriage. What say?
Mrs. Rajput: That will be so good.

Everything was fine but none of them were aware about the back story of Pinky Rajput.

*Day of Tej's marriage*
Finally Tej filled Janvi's hairline with vermilion and adourned her neck with the mangalsutra. Oberois and Singhaniyas hugged each other happily seeing their children finally getting hitched. Next was Shakti and Pinky's engagement. But Pinky was missing from the venue which went unnoticed to everyone.

*Outside the venue*
Pinky: Why can't you understand I don't love you anymore.
Man: Why don't you love me anymore? Just because I have become bankrupt.
Pinky: Yes.... You can't make me happy ..... You can't provide me with the luxuries I want..... You are a waste now Jayesh......
Man(Jayesh): Okay you think that I am a waste.... Then what about the relation we share? Don't forget that we are married and legally you are my wife and I am your husband.
Pinky: Don't you remember or have you lost your memory. I have already sent you the divorce papers.
Jayesh: And what is the reason for divorce?
Pinky: That you have cheated on me with some other woman.
Jayesh(shocked): What?
Pinky: Now it is up to you. Whether you want to give me divorce peacefully or do you want to me to destroy your left over reputation. Trust me Jayesh I have that much capability to do it now. (was going away)
Jayesh: What about the things that happened between us? You will forget those so easily.
Pinky: That was the worst decision of my life ever.

She walked away and Jayesh felt nothing but heart broken. But he didn't loose his strength. He decided to give her divorce and start afresh. On the other side,Pinky very skillfully got married to Shakti. Jayesh though never came in front of Pinky but had every other information about her.

*1 month later*
*Mumbai*

Pinky was sick for most of the time and it scared Shakti a lot. So he took her to the doctor who said him about her pregnancy. Shakti was so happy hearing it so was Pinky. Good news reached the Oberoi family and Dadi couldn't be more happy.

Pinky was being pampered a lot and she was getting all the luxuries she wanted. But she didn't know about the upcoming storm in her life.

Jayesh got the news about Pinky's pregnancy and he had a doubt that it might be his child. So he secretly conducted a DNA test which turned out to be positive. Further he got to know that she was expecting twins.
He decided to confront her and demand his kids. But his financial situation stopped him. He thought that his children will be safe and have a very good life. So he backed off.

*10 months later*
Pinky was brought to the hospital due to labor pain. No one was there in the house except Dadi. She was very scared and was praying to God for the wellbeing of her bahu and grandchild. She was unaware about the twins. Jayesh was also present but his himself and prayed for his kids. Cries we're heard and Dadi was very happy so was Jayesh. But only one cry made him worried.

Nurse walked out with one baby and handed over to Dadi.

Nurse: Pota hua hai.
Dadi: How is Pinky?
Nurse: Both are fine. We will be shifting her to the normal ward shortly.

Dadi carried the baby in her arms and chooed him. He opened his eyes and the magnificent blue-green eyes captured her heart. Jayesh was happy seeing his son but he was he'll scared regarding his other child. He slowly went towards the operation theater and saw the same nurse taking a baby in her arms somewhere. He followed her and caught her.

Jayesh: Where are you taking this baby?
Nurse(scared): Please don't complain about it sir. I was forced to do it. The patient forced me to take this baby away. I didn't do it by myself.
Jayesh(angry but controlled himself): Okay. Give this baby to me. He is my child. And tell her that you have done whatever she had said you. Noone should come to know that Pinky Singh Oberoi's other son is with me. Am I clear?
Nurse(scared): Yes sir...... But please don't complain about me...... Please sir.....
Jayesh(carrying the baby in him arms): Provided you stop doing all things forever.
Nurse: I won't do it Sir. I promise.

Nurse ran away being scared while Jayesh looked at the baby in his hands. His tears betrayed him and flowed down. He kissed his forehead lightly.

Jayesh: What happens if your mother doesn't accept you. Till your father is alive you will never have to face any difficulty. She chose your brother and I am sure he will be treated well. Though I can't give you the luxuries of the rich family but I will give you all the love of this world. I promise you my son. I promise you......

Days went by naming ceremony was arranged grandly in the Oberoi mansion and simultaneously Jayesh had organized a small puja in the temple for the baby. The blue eyed baby was named Shivaay..... Shivaay Singh Oberoi..... While his twin was named Mahendra..... Mahendra Joshi......

Days rolled by ....... But the thing that changed drastically was Pinky's attitude towards Shivaay. She didn't even look after at all. Dadi was the only person who looked after her grandson. While on the other hand Jayesh never left Mahi alone. Where ever be went Mahi always accompanied him. Both the kids bought immense amount of good luck for the families.

Everything was like picture perfect. Until one day ......

*Day of vaccination*
Dadi had taken her Billu for his vaccination and Jayesh had also taken Mahi. Both of them were taken in together. Jayesh saw Dadi and was about to avoid her when she called out.

Dadi: Beta...... Are you a single father?
Jayesh: Haa Auntyji..... Single father.....
Dadi: What happened to your wife?
Jayesh(remembers Pinky): She is dead.....
Dadi: That is so bad. I am so sorry beta. I didn't mean to hurt you.
Jayesh: It's fine Auntyji....
Dadi: What is this Auntyji..... And all... Call me Maa....
Jayesh(emotional): Thank you so much Maa.....

Nurse interuppeted them.

Nurse: Mr. Joshi your kids are absolutely fine. They have been given their vaccine.
Dadi(confused): Kids? But one is my grandson and other is his child.
Nurse: I guess you have mistaken Dadiji.
Jayesh(trying to handle the situation): Nurse I guess you have mistaken....it's....
Dadi(sturnt voice): I want to know the truth that's it and Jayesh dare you try to speak anything. Nurse tell me everything...
Nurse: Actually..... Both are Mr. Joshi's sons and both are twins.

It was like a bomb for Dadi. She wasn't able to digest anything. She sat down on the chair with a thud. Jayesh understood that everything is out now and he can't hide anything more.

Jayesh: Maa..... I can explain it....
Dadi(shows her hand to stop ): I want to see the babies.
Nurse(looks at Jayesh): But....
Jayesh: Maa I will take you....

Dadi involuntarily followed Jayesh and Nurse to the examination room to see both of the babies happily giggling. Jayesh was very happy seeing his other son. And his blue green attracted him a lot. Dadi saw both of them and smiled whole heartedly.

Dadi: See,how both of them got to know that they are each others missing part. Billu is looking so happy.
Jayesh(confused): Billu?
Dadi(chuckled): I call my grandson Billu because of his eyes which is like a cat. His real name is Shivaay..... Shivaay Singh obe.....
Jayesh(completing her): Shivaay Singh Oberoi and his twin is Mahi.... Mahendra Joshi....
Dadi: But Billu isn't an Oberoi. .....
Jayesh: Maa can I have a talk with you in private.
Dadi(to nurse): Look after the kids.

Nurse agreed and both of them went to the hospital garden to have a talk.

Jayesh: Maa.... When you have considered me as your son then please keep this request of mine as well please. (holding her hands) Please Maa..... Promise me that Shivaay should never come to know about his birth truth.... Never..... He was..... He is..... And will always remain an Oberoi....... Please Maa..... Promise me......
Dadi: But beta.... He is your son and .....
Jayesh: I know...... I will tell you everything.... But please..... He should never come to know that he isn't an Oberoi..... Please Maa.....
Dadi: I promise..... But now tell me everything.....

Jayesh narrated his history with Pinky. After hearing it Dadi was shocked to the core.

Dadi: She is such a money minded Lady. No doubt she doesn't look after Billu and goes around for parties. She just wanted fame which she got by marrying Shakti.
Jayesh: She doesn't look after Shivaay?
Dadi: But don't worry Beta. When Shivaay's Dadi is here you need not to think about his care and love.
Jayesh: Pinky had said the nurse to throw Mahi away as she only wanted one child. I was angry on her act but still I was happy somewhere that my other son will be getting all the luxuries and happiness which I can't give him. But.....
Dadi: Don't worry beta. I will always be beside Shivaay and now even his younger brother Om is also there to keep him happy.
Jayesh: I just hope that I am not making any wrong decision.

Years went by.,..... Dadi was the only person whom Shivaay would find shelter. His mother was always busy in her parties and his father in business. Tej and Janvi were also drifting apart. At a tender age of 5 Shivaay took up the responsibility of a big brother and handled Om, Rudra and Priyanka. He even faced a life death situation while saving Om which led him to have a congenital heart problem. Still he went on doing his duty. He always yarned for his parent's love but he never got. Once on being asked his mother said," When you will make my name proud in front of world then I will be the happiest person.....". And from then the little Shivaay started his journey of being the perfect son,perfect brother,perfect human being. In his journey of being perfect he lost his childhood but he didn't fail to give the much needed freedom and love to his brothers.

Everything was smooth..... Pinky had planted the seed of naam khoon and khandan in his mind and made him the arrogant SSO. Years rolled by...... His brothers and siter and his Dadi were his only source of peace. But ......

Tej: Shivaay is making my children away from me and I will never allow that to happen.
Dadi: How will you understand what Billu has done for OmRu and Prinku? You both are always busy in your own life.
Janvi: But what to do mummyji. Shivaay always comes between my children and me and that's why.......
Shivaay: If you all have a problem with me interfering in OmRu and Prinku's life then I will not interfere again. Dadi.... I want to go abroad for my future studies.
Pinky: No you can't go like this....
Shivaay: Dadi.....
Dadi: Thik hai Billu.....

Shivaay walked out and noone expect Dadi was able to notice the tear filled eyes of his. The very night before OmRu and Priyanka could understand anything,Shivaay left the Oberoi mansion and Family. OmRu wasn't able to digest the fact but Tej's cunning mind corrupted the poor kids minds. Jayesh also got to know everything and cursed Pinky and his fate.

10 years later when Her Billu ,he was a completely changed Man. Three piece suit , sturnt face and arrogance described his personality very well. Dadi had come to receive him and Jayesh was again hiding to see his son. Though he was looking a perfect businessman but his eyes showed complete void which pricked his heart.

Jayesh: I thought you will love him so much Pinky but I was wrong. I should have taken him too along with Mahi.

Shivaay returned only to handle the Oberoi Industries. He was shocked to see his brothers cold behavior towards him but he masked his emotions very well. Pinky was too busy to set his Son up with some rich family girl for upbringing the Oberoi name. Shivaay expected that his mother would be crying in happiness seeing him back after 10 years but seems like he wasn't destined to get the love of his parents. This made him believe that " Love is fake...... It only gives you pain..... There isn't any such thing called love....." And the saddest thing was Dadi failed to notice it.

Tia was the worst disaster of his life. Pinky was hell bent to make her, the bahu and Shivaay with a slight hope in his heart that his mother would finally shower love on him accepted it. Until a small revelation struck him hard.....

(Anika has already entered his life..... As wedding planner. They are already married. Precisely it happened when Anika was in coma for a month. )

*Fateful night*
It was raining heavily and as usual Dadi was waiting for Shivaay. Everyone had retired for the night without a slight concerned about Her Billu. She had already called him for n number of times but it everytime went unanswered. She had even called up Khanna and Mishra who gave her negative replies. Her worries were increasing every moment when finally the front door cracked open. She looked up to see a very devastated Shivaay. She became scared seeing him.

Dadi: Billu.... What have you done to yourself? How did you get wet so much? Don't you know that you will fall I'll. And where were you ? I called you so many times......
Shivaay(most vunrarable voice): Am I illegitimate Dadi?

Dadi was shocked hearing him. Her tears trickled done her eyes hearing him. She held onto him and took her to her room.

*Dadi's room*

Dadi made him sit on the bed and his condition wasn't less than a living corpse.

Dadi: Who said you all these Billu?
Shivaay: That doesn't matter at all. Just tell me Dadi....(holds her hands) I know you won't lie to me. This is all false right. I am an Oberoi.... Please tell me Dadi.... I am an Oberoi.....
Dadi(hugs him tightly): Billu.... You are an Oberoi and always be an Oberoi...... Please never think like that.....
Shivaay: Please Dadi.... Tell me the truth.... I will be able to handle everything.... Please just tell me Dadi....
Dadi(closed her eyes tightly): Yes,you are illegitimate son of Pinky..... Your aren't Shakti's son.....

Shivaay had a blank look on his face. He broke the hug and stood up. He was about to leave the room when Dadi stopped him.

Dadi: Kaha jaa Raha hai?
Shivaay: Mujhe thora der aakele rehena hai Dadi. Don't worry I will come back by morning.

Shivaay walked out of the Oberoi mansion. Though Dadi knew that he would surely return as he had promised but she feared where will he go. She wanted to send Khanna behind him but refrained herself.

The next day when Shivaay returned ,he was calm and composed. This made Dadi worried and she decided to talk to him.

Dadi: Billu..... Tu thik toh hai naa?
Shivaay: I am fine Dadi. I have accepted it wholeheartedly.
Dadi: You don't want to know who is your Father?
Shivaay: No Dadi. Whoever be my father.... I will be Shivaay.... Only Shivaay....
Dadi: No Billu.... You are an Oberoi... And will remain an Oberoi....
Shivaay(shaking his head in denial): No Dadi..... I'm not an Oberoi..... Please don't force me.....

He kissed her hands and went away. Dadi broke down seeing Shivaay. Only one person could help her now.

Dadi: Jayesh..... Shivaay got to know that he isn't an Oberoi.
Jayesh(shocked): What? But how? He shouldn't have got to know about it.... But....
Dadi: Problem isn't that. Problem is he is totally fine with it. He doesn't even want to know his father's name. Jayesh please..... Do something and tell him that you are his father....
Jayesh: I will do something Maa don't worry.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

(Simultaneously happening)
Jayesh: Then I came in your life as a business partner but my aim was to tell you about me.
Dadi: Jayesh tried to make him fall in business which angered him. And this led him to know that Jayesh is his father..... DNA test was conducted and proved that he is Jayesh's son but Billu never acknowledged him as his father. I guess just because of you he accepted him.

The whole truth was a great toll over the two souls. Shivaay was emotionless while Anika was a crying mess. She now realized why he accepted her. She can clearly understand his inner tormoil.

Anika: Shivaay was never..... Never.... Cared by Pinky aunty. I thought his childhood would have been so beautiful but I was so wrong. Both of us have the same childhood Dadi. I never had a family and he despite having a family didn't have one. Dadi... He has suffered so much..... So much..... And then his birth truth...... I can very well understand what he might have gone through......
Dadi(holding her hands tightly): Anika I want a promise from you. Promise me that you will never leave Billu and go..... Whatever happens never leave his side.... Promise me..... He doesn't have anyone in life as his own...... You are the only one who he thinks as his own..... Promise me Anika....
Anika: I promise you Dadi.... I will never leave Shivaay.... Never..... Till my last breath I will be with Shivaay in his every thick and thin situation.... I promise you.....

*Balcony*
Jayesh was trying to decipher Shivaay's state of mind but was failing.

Jayesh: Shivaay.....
Shivaay: Does my twin know about all these?
Jayesh: Yes..... He knows about it from before only.....
Shivaay(drily chuckled): Seems like I was supposed to be kept in darkness forever. Does he hate me?
Jayesh: Why don't you ask him directly?
Shivaay: He is here?
Jayesh(shouts out loud): Mahi.... You can come in.

A well built man walked in wearing a suit entered the balcony. Shivaay looked up to see his own reflection but the only difference was their eyes.

Mahi(with emotional voice): Shivaay bhaiya......
Shivaay(shocked): Bhaiya!
Jayesh(chuckled): You are 1 hour elder to him.
Mahi: Will you not meet your twin brother? Are you angry on me....
Shivaay: I don't know what to feel.... I am confused.... I.....
Mahi(holds his shoulders): Let's just start afresh what do you say brother.....

"He is absolutely right Billu....."

Both of them looked at the door and saw Dadi. She came towards them and carenessed their hair.

Dadi: Billu Mahi..... Forget whatever happened in the past.... And start afresh.... And Billu..... I know you will not take up the surname of Oberoi but at least take up your Father's surname.
Shivaay: Dadi I have already said that I don't  want to take up any surname. I am fine with only Shivaay .... Please Dadi don't force me....
Jayesh: It's fine Shivaay.... I agree to your thoughts. Whatever you want I will accept it.
Shivaay: Thank you so much..... Dadi.(questions her) Anika .....
Dadi: She is waiting for you in the room. Go.

Shivaay smiled lightly to everyone and went to meet Anika. Jayesh sighed sadly and Mahi held onto his shoulder.

Mahi: Don't worry Dad. Everything will be fine.
Jayesh: I know. I'm just concerned about what will happen if the other members of the Oberoi family gets to know about it.
Dadi: That's even my fear especially Tej. If he gets to know that Shivaay isn't an Oberoi then....
Jayesh: He won't take a single minute to make it a scandle and it will break my son more. No I can't let that happen.... No....
Mahi: Dad don't worry... I guess Shivaay has already done something..... Have faith in him.

*Shivika's room*

Both of them were silently sitting on the bed with hands interwind with each other. None of them could utter a single word. Finally,Anika broke the silence.

Anika: Aap thik hai?
Shivaay(tightening her hold): Till you are there with me I am absolutely fine..... You are my strength..... My everything..... Never leave me please....
Anika: Till my last breath I will always be beside you Shivaay.... Always....

He smiled lightly and hugged her tightly. She buried her face in his chest more and he cocconed her in his embrace.

Jayesh ,Dadi and Mahi saw them through the window and smiled.

Dadi: Now I don't have any tension. Anika and Billu will be each other's strength and shadow.....

Precap: Shivaay: From now onwards our journey won't be so easy.....
Anika: If you are by my side I am ready to face any challenge......
Shivaay: But before that..... I need by old Anika back......
