Shivaay entered her room and saw her pale figure lying on the bed with an oxygen mask blood drips and saline . His heart broke seeing her in such a condition. He went towards her and sat beside her bed. He took hold of her hand and carenessing it lightly.
Her head was covered with a bandage and her hands and legs too. He carenessed her hair softly and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Jayesh peeped into the room and saw the scene. His tears couldn't hold back anymore and flowed down.

Jayesh: Destiny also plays a cruel game with Him. I thought he will get immense love from Her..... But..... She just broke him and ruined him. But now I won't let her do that. I will protect Shivaay and Anika from Her....

(who is this 'Her' that he is talking about? 🤔🤔)

Shivaay was engrossed seeing her and went back to the past......

*FLASHBACK STARTS*
(After Khanna advised Shivaay to take Anika to the farmhouse)
She was surely held by him in his arms. Her face was pale as if someone has removed all the blood from her body. Hands still cold though better than before. He set her hair properly so as to see her face properly.

Shivaay(thinking): What have you done to yourself Anika? You aren't the Anika whom I had met. Where did that Khidkitod Anika go? Wait a minute..... What happened to my language? (sighed) See what have you done to me..... Cara.....
Khanna(breaking his thoughts) : Sir we reached.
Shivaay: Park the car and get the things.

He went inside a small two storey bungalow. He walked up the stairs and entered a room.

*Shivika's room*
Shivaay entered the room and made Anika sleep on the bed comfortably. He covered her with the comforter and carenessed her hair.

Khanna(entering the room) : Sir.... I have kept the things.
Shivaay: You can go now Khanna. And haa if anyone asks about me just say that I went out for some business tour.
Khanna: Okay Sir.
Shivaay: Send Kaki here before you go.
Khanna: Yes Sir. (he left)

Shivaay sat beside Anika and continued to rub. An old lady entered the room.

Kaki: Shivaay baba....
Shivaay: Kaki.... Can you please change her clothes?
Kaki: But who is she Baba?
Shivaay(looking at Anika) : My wife..... My everything......
Kaki(without further questions) : Okay Baba. I will do it.

He nodded and went out while Kaki changed her clothes. She came out after doing it.

Kaki: Shivaay baba.... What happened to her?
Shivaay(sighed): Kaki.... She... (bowing his head down) it is all my fault.... If I hadn't left her for some time then this wouldn't have happened....
Kaki: But what had happened?
Shivaay: Actually..... (narrated her everything) Since then she is under medicine effect. I don't know when will she wake up. (unknowingly tears glistered in his eyes seeing her)
Kaki(saw it) : You think about her so much, Baba.
Shivaay: She is the only one I have whom I can call as mine.....
Kaki(patting his shoulder) : Don't worry, she will be fine. I will make dinner for you both.

She went leaving them alone. He closed his eyes to control his emotions and sat beside her again.

*Almost 3 hours later*
Anika was still sleeping and it made Shivaay tensed. Because according to the doctor, the medicine wares out within an hour or two. He tried waking her up.

Shivaay(shaking her lightly) : Anika.... Anika... Wake up... Anika..... Hey Anika... Don't play games with me.... Get up....

But in vain. Sensing the situation, Kaki called the doctor.

*Few minutes later*
Doctor was checking Anika and from his face, anyone could decipher that he didn't have a good news.

Shivaay: Doctor... What's wrong? Why isn't Anika conscious yet?
Doctor: Mr. Oberoi.... Mrs. Anika has......
Shivaay: Anika what doctor?
Doctor: She has slipped into coma......

Shivaay's all the thoughts came crashing down hearing it...... Anika...... His Anika.... Coma.... His Cara..... No it can't be happening.

Shivaay: Doctor, have you gone nuts? How is that even possible? She was fine... She was absolutely fine.
Doctor: Did you give her the injection that I had given you for emergency?
Shivaay: Haa doctor.... I had given her immediately when I realized her state.
Doctor: I guess her body didn't accept it. Don't worry I will do the required arrangements.
Shivaay: When will she get up?
Doctor: It can be days, weeks, months or years... Don't know.

Doctor left a shattered Shivaay behind. He was too numb to react. How was it even possible? Few hours ago, she was perfectly fine and now this. He couldn't control himself and went to the balcony to get some fresh air.

Shivaay(thinking): Till Anika isn't fine, I can't leave her alone. I will stay with her.... (remembers something) Sahil... What will I tell him? No... He shouldn't come to know about this. I will go and meet him once.

He was getting ready when Kaki entered.

Kaki: You are going somewhere Beta?
Shivaay: Haa, Kaki. Going to meet Anika's brother, Sahil. I don't want him to be tensed unnecessarily. So just going to meet him. Please look after her till I come back.
Kaki: Don't worry beta. I will stay with her. But isn't it too late to meet Sahil?
Shivaay: He is in a boarding school around 5 hours from here. If I leave now, I will reach by morning. Then in the afternoon I will come back.
Kaki: Okay beta. But dinner?
Shivaay(looking at Anika) : Maan nehi hai Kaki.... (looks at her) I am leaving.

Shivaay left not before giving a forehead kiss to Anika. Kaki saw everything and could only pray for both of them.

*Sahil's school*
Shivaay had reached exactly at 6 in the morning. He requested the authority to let Sahil spend a day with him and they allowed.

Sahil(surprised): SSO?
Shivaay: Hey Sahil. How are you?
Sahil: I'm fine. You came alone. Where is Anika didi?
Shivaay(remembered everything that happened but composed himself) : I came here to meet you alone that too secretly without telling your Didi. So want to go for a day out with me?
Sahil: Sure.

The whole day, they spent it doing all his favorite activities, eating his favorites and going to his favorite places. By 4 in the evening, they returned back.

Sahil: I had so much fun today. Thanks SSO.
Shivaay: Anything for you Champ.
Sahil: When will Anika didi come to meet me?
Shivaay: Don't worry next time I will bring her. Okay?

Sahil became happy hearing it and went back to his hostel. Shivaay saw him going and sighed thinking that this little soul is totally unaware about the condition of his sister. If he gets to know then he will be broken and he won't allow that to happen.

*Farmhouse *
Shivaay returned to seeing Anika in the same condition. He sat beside her and told her about his whole day experience. He failed to notice the small tear that slipped through her closed eyes.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

Shivaay: That time, you had made me wait for a month but this time I won't wait. You have to get up for me and Sahil. You have to become the old chirpy Anika, you have to get your lost confidence back. And for that I need to take you away from everyone for sometime.

With all the help from the hospital, he shifted Anika to the farmhouse and left Kaki with her. He went to Sahil's hospital and brought him too.

The day passed by.... Still Anika wasn't awake. Dadi had called asking about Anika's where about and Shivaay tactfully handles it. OmRu wanted to meet Anika but Shivaay prevented them saying that Dadi will get to know about it and become tensed and he didn't want them to know about this place also. Sahil, though he showed that he was strong from outside... He was breaking within himself seeing his Anika didi like that...

Shivaay(carenessing his head) : Sahil.... Don't worry.... Anika thik ho jayegi....
Sahil: I know jiju because you are there naa.... You will never let my Anika didi suffer. She has to get well for you....
Shivaay: Not for me.. For us.... For us she has to get well soon.... Very soon.... (hugged him sideways) Don't worry, she will be fine soon....

Sahil wiped the corner of Shivaay's eyes.

Sahil: Are you trying to console yourself or me?
Shivaay(controlling his emotions) : Nothing like that. You should go and sleep. If you have forgotten then let me remind you that you aren't well too. Come I will tuck you to bed.
Sahil(kissing Anika's cheek) : Good night Didi.... Get well soon... Though I know you will because jiju is there with you.

Shivaay smiled little at that. He carried Sahil and put him to bed. He stayed till he fell asleep. He kissed his forehead and whispered good night and sweet dreams. He returned back to their room and saw Anika still asleep. Kaki, who had come to call Shivaay for dinner stopped at the doorstep to see them.

Kaki: God only knows how many more tests they have to give. Why can't they enjoy their life? Why do they have to face so much? Shivaay baba is so broken without Anika but he never shows that to anyone. Only Anika can heal him and I just pray ki sab kuch thik ho jaye.

*Inside the room*
Shivaay with a sad face sat beside Anika. He took her hand in his and interwinded it. With the other hand he started carenessing her hair softly.

Shivaay(softly): I have saved you physically. But mentally I don't know what you are going through. Please just once you open your eyes and tell me that you aren't leaving me and you will always stay beside me.... Then I will fight out all your nightmares and panic attacks. I promise.......

Her hold on his hand tightened and she was murmuring something. He understood that she was going through a nightmare and consoled her. He took her in his embrace and put her head on his chest securely.

Shivaay(lightly kissing her hair and carenessing it): Sshh..... Nothing happened ... I am there with you.... I am there.... Your Shivaay is there..... Sshh.....

His words did the magic and she calmed down. She held his kurta tightly in her fist and slept. When, she finally calmed down he felt peace. He kissed her forehead lovingly and slept off with his head on the head rest.

*Next day*
Sunlight peeped through the curtains and directly hit her eyes. She closed her eyes more tightly. Unable to bear the intensity, she dug her face into the soft pillow. Soft pillow and beats? How? She slowly opened her eyes to come across something white.... She wasn't able to understand anything. Is she dead? And she is in heaven? But how come she is on a pillow with beats? She tried to look up but her head hurt.

Anika(holding her head) : Aahh!
Shivaay(woke up due to the sound) : Anika... Cara..... Is it paining? (carenessing her hair) I will call the doctor.
Anika(looked at him with innocent eyes) : .......
Shivaay: What happened Cara?
Anika: Anika, you have gone crazy. How can you see Shivaay here? You are dead.... And in heaven... How can Shiva..
Shivaay(holds her face in his hand) : You are not dead Cara..... You are not dead..... You are with me..... I saved you.... You are fine....

Hearing him, all the events from yesterday started flashing in front of her eyes. Tortures, beatings and captive..... Everything played like a movie. She gripped his kurta more tightly and started shaking with fear.

Anika(stammering): Shi... Shivaay... Woh... Woh... Dak... Daksh... He... He.... Hit me..... Badly... Very badly... He.... Said.... That he will ki... Kill me...... He...
Shivaay(calming her down and hugged her tightly) : Sshh..... Anika..... You are safe.... He is gone.... He won't come back again.... Calm down.... Cara..... Calm down.....

She couldn't bare it anymore.... All the incidents gave her a panic attack and she fainted in his arms. He became shocked.

Shivaay(patting her cheek) : Anika..... Anika.... Open your eyes Anika..... (shouts) Kaki.... Kaki.....
Kaki(ran into the room) : What happened Shivaay baba?
Shivaay: Kaki.... Anika fainted.... Please call the doctor fast..... (to Anika) Cara open your eyes.... Please Cara...... Open your eyes.....
Kaki(cutting the call): Doctor is coming..... Shivaay baba, you put Anika on the bed....
Shivaay(pulling her into his arms more) : No... I will not leave her.... No....
Kaki: But Shivaay Baba.... Doctor has to check her also.... He can't do it if you will keep her like that....

He kissed her hair and made her lie down on the bed softly. But her grip on his wrist didn't let him move away from her. He sat down beside her. Sahil peeped into the room to see his didi and jiju. He heard Shivaay shouting and came to see what had happened. His Anika didi is still unconscious and Jiju broken. He wanted to enter the room and restrained himself from going.

Shivaay(looked back) : Sahil!
Sahil(startled): SSO?
Shivaay : What are you doing there? And who told you to leave the bed? You aren't healed completely.
Sahil(entered the room) : I heard your shouts and came to see what happened.
Shivaay: Anika fainted again after waking up. So I was calling Kaki to call the doctor.
Sahil(sitting beside her) : She will be fine naa?
Shivaay: She has to.... For us.... (whispers) For me especially......
Kaki(entered the room) : Shivaay baba, doctor came.
Shivaay(saw the doctor entering) : Doctor please see my wife. She gained consciousness but after talking for sometime she fainted again. Please check her.
Doctor: Don't worry, Mr. Oberoi. I am checking her. Can you please move aside a bit?

Shivaay tried to move but her hold stopped him. Seeing it, doctor allowed him to stay. He checked her and gave an injection.

Doctor: Panic attack.... But it wasn't too severe. She will experience these quite often. So please be patient and deal with her accordingly.
Shivaay: When will she be fine doctor? (looks at her intently) I can't see her like this.
Doctor: You love your wife a lot.....
Shivaay(shocked): Love?
Doctor: Don't worry, Mr. Obeori she will be fine soon. I am taking your leave.

Shivaay was too engrossed to pay heed to the doctor's words.

Shivaay(thinking): Love.....? I love Anika.... No there isn't anything called in this world.... There isn't any kind of love in this world..... I... Am just very much concerned about Cara because she is my wife and she is very much important for me in my life. Yaa that's it..... There is no such word or feelings called love..... No..... (looks at her) She's the only person I can call as mine..... She is very much important for me in my life..... She is my life.........

Pinky was being restless..... Why she wouldn't be? Shivaay and Anika are together on a business trip and she cannot digest the fact at all.

Pinky: Shivaay is going away from my hands and that road side thrash is making him dance on her tunes. I need to do something before it's too late.
Tia(entering her room): Pinky mom.....
Pinky: Aare Tia.... When did you come?
Tia: Just now Pinky mom. Do you know where is Shivaay baby?
Pinky: He went for some business meeting with that Anika.
Tia(shocked): What? With Anika.... But how is it possible?

Tia smirked that wasn't seen by Pinky. But the shocking thing was that someone else was also listening to their talks. Undoubtedly it was Dadi. She was shocked hearing everything. She quickly went back to her room and called someone.

Dadi: Hello..... Jayesh....

Shivaay had freshened up and was making breakfast for them when his phone rang. He saw the called id and sighed. He prepared himself and picked up the call.

Shivaay: Dadi..... Good morning.... How are you?
Dadi(serious tone): Billu..... Now you have started to hide things from your Dadi also.
Shivaay: What did I do Dadi? What did I hide from you?
Dadi: Anika and Sahil were attacked and both of them are critical.
Shivaay(shocked): How? I mean.....
Dadi: I want to meet them. Where are you all?
Shivaay: Dadi.... Woh.....
Dadi: Billu address......
Shivaay(helplessly and sighed): Khanna will bring you. But please Dadi.... No one should know about it.... When I say noone means noone.... Not even OmRu..... Please Dadi.... I request you.....

Shivaay sighed thinking about all the change of events. He informed Khanna to bring Dadi from OM. He completed making breakfast and went upstairs. He fed Sahil and gave his medicines and told him to take rest. He then went to their room to see Anika opening her eyes. He rushed towards her and sat beside her.

Shivaay(holding her hand): Anika..... Cara..... Are you feeling better?
Anika(tries to get up): Hmm..... (falls on the bed)Aahh!
Shivaay: Wait, I will help you.

He helped her sit on the bed with the support of pillows. She looked at him and saw his eyes full of pain. She slowly carenessed his face which starled him.

Anika: What have you done to yourself, Shivaay? Why this pain in your eyes?
Shivaay: Then what should you expect to see? Happiness..... Haa tell me.... Do you even realize what was my condition seeing you in that condition? You were drowning in that water tank and Daksh was.....
Anika(remembered something): Shivaay.... Sahil...?
Shivaay(carenessed her hand): Don't worry. He is fine. Just some minor head injury. He is sleeping now due to medicines. When he wakes up I will bring him to meet you. Okay?

Without any further words,he picked her up in his arms and went to the bathroom. He made her sit beside the washbasin and filled the tub with luke warm water. He opened his suit folded his sleeves up to the elbow and turned towards her. Slowly while looking into her eyes,he removed the duppata from her neck and dropped it down.

Shivaay(whispers): May I?
Anika: Hmm.....

He closed his eyes and slowly opened the chain of her dress. His finger accidentally touched her warm back which sent shivers down her spine.

Shivaay: Sorry......
Anika: You have the right on me Shivaay..... Please don't be sorry.
Shivaay: But I would never force you..... You know that.....

He opened her dress completely and picked her up in his arms. Her warm body touched his and they shivered due to the proximity. He gently put her in the tub and started cleaning her up. Throughout the time,his eyes were closed and she felt blessed having him in her life. Tears trickled down her eyes feeling his care. Shivaay felt her tear and spanned opened his eyes.

Shivaay(cupping her face): What happened Cara? Did I hurt you somewhere?
Anika: Am I really that lucky to get a husband like you or am I dreaming that will break once I wake up from this beautiful dream?
Shivaay: You are not dreaming Anika. I am always with you...... And will always be with you......
Anika(whispers): Can I ask you something?
Shivaay: You don't need to ask............
Anika: Kiss me Shivaay...... Please......

Shock would be an understatement that he was experiencing. But seeing her vulnerable state he composed himself. He cupped her face tenderly and pulled her face up. Her tear filled eyes were making him so crazy.

Shivaay: Don't think that whatever I will be doing is just because you want me to do but I want to do it with my full heart. You are my wife..... My everything...... And the only person in my life whom I can call as mine..... You are my everything Cara...... Everything.....

He leaned forward and she closed her eyes in anticipation. His lips touched her forehead lightly and a light sob escaped her mouth. She held onto his shirt tightly and let her tears flow. His lips were still on her forehead. Her sobs turned into cries..... Heart breaking cries and it killed him thousand times. He went to her eyes and kissed them lightly sucking her tears away. Next her cheeks which had the slap marks of that bastard. He stopped and looked at her. Her eyes were closed tightly.

Shivaay(whispers): Open your eyes Cara.....

She opened her eyes and got drowned in his blue-green eyes.

Shivaay(whispers): I will never leave you alone Cara..... And it's Your Shivaay's promise to you...... You will always find me beside you in every situation..... I will never leave you.... Never......

Saying so he leaned forward and placed his lips on hers lightly. With slow pace he continued to kiss her. Soon she started to participate in the kiss too. It was a slow kiss full of love...... They broke the kiss due to lack of oxygen with their foreheads touching each other. He took hold of her hands and kissed them lightly over her wounds. She was too overwhelmed seeing his gesture that she freed her hands and hugged him tightly. Her cries echoed through the walls of the bathroom and it stabbed him more.

Shivaay: Sshh..... No Anika you shouldn't be wasting your tears over that bastard. He isn't worth your tears. No Cara...... Don't cry.... Sshh......

He broke the hug and wiped her face. He took a towel and wrapped it around her. He picked her up in his arms and went back to the room. He took her to the closet and made her wear his loose t-shirt and some trousers. He changed his shirt and brought her back to the room and started changing her bandages.

Shivaay: Do you know something? (She nooded no) You are my strong Cara..... (Sees her shocked expression) Yes you are my strong Cara..... who has faced the world all by herself. Who can do anything to protect her brother.... That is my Cara...... I don't know who this is......
Anika: A broken girl who has lost all her confidence. Society , mental torture, everything broke her into several pieces......
Shivaay: But I have a faith that she will be back to herself again.....(she looks at him) Anika..... I have brought you here for 2 main reasons..... One is that someone is behind you and your life is in danger and second is I want my old chirpy bubbly Anika back....(sees her shocked face) Anika I know whatever you are facing right now ,I am somewhere responsible for it..... It was because of my ego and anger you had to face many things. I forced you to do many things and you didn't even question me back. I didn't realized that in my ego I am killing an innocent girl and by the time I realized it was too late. I lost the innocent girl and one sitting in front of me is nothing but a lifeless doll. I have killed her.... I have killed her.....
Anika: No Shivaay.... It's nothing like that....
Shivaay: It's like that only Anika. And I have decided something. Till the old chirpy bubbly confident Anika is born again...... I will not return back to Oberoi mansion......
Anika(shocked): You can't do like this Shivaay. It's all childish. No.... The family needs you and business also.....
Shivaay(holds her one hand and cups her face with the other): Trust me Anika..... When I said that you are the only one whom I can call as mine then I really mean it.... And as time goes you will also understand everything...... I have you as my only family,friend and everything......

Anika blinked her eyes several times to understand his words and it's depth. But before she could proceed further,he came up with the breakfast tray and started feeding her.

Anika: Did you eat?
Shivaay: After you finish I will eat.

She moved her face away and refused to have it. He sighed seeing her stubbornness and took the bite. They completed the breakfast and a horn sound was heard. She looked at him questionably while he could only sigh.

Shivaay: Dadi and......
Anika: And?
Shivaay(said with hesitation): Papa.....
Anika(confused): Shakti uncle?
Shivaay: No.... He is......
Kaki(interrupted): Shivaay baba....
Shivaay: Haa Kaki..... I am coming. (to Anika) I will bring them.

He went out with the tray leaving a very confused Anika.

Anika(confused): Who is this Papa now? If he is not Shakti uncle then about whom Shivaay was talking. And what he meant by I being his only family...... I guess I am missing something..... And only Dadi can help me out.

Dadi and Jayesh were sitting on the couch and looking around the place. Soon Shivaay arrived and took blessings from Dadi.

Shivaay: Dadi....
Dadi(ignoring him): Anika kaha hai?
Shivaay: She's in the room upstairs. I....
Dadi: Jayesh let's go.
Shivaay(stopping her): Dadi please don't ignore me like that. I didn't do all these to hurt you. I was just trying to protect Anika and I didn't want to give you tension also. Please Dadi forgive me. Please.....(joined his hand and sat in front of her on his knees with guilt)
Dadi(carenessed his hair): I was angry on you. But when Jayesh told me about the incidents and situations my anger vanished. You had done everything to protect Anika and I can't be more happier than it. Now get up and take me to meet my bahu.

Dadi kissed his forehead and he took them to their room.

*Shivika's room*
Anika was trying to get down the bed to put on her sindoor and mangalsutra. But she wasn't able to stand on her feet due to weakness. With the support of the bed,she finally stood up but the next moment she was caught by a pair of strong arms. She looked up to see her husband holding her tightly.

Shivaay: What is the need to get up from the bed? You could have called me or Kaki if you needed anything.
Anika: Voh sindoor and mangalsutra....
Shivaay: I didn't make you wear them because doctor said not to put them for few days till your wounds aren't healed.
Anika: But how can I not wear them? I wear them to protect you from danger. No I will wear them....
Dadi(entering the room): Then I have a solution for that.
Anika(trying to free herself): Dadi.....
Dadi: Make her sit Billu.

Shivaay made her sit on the bed and moved away for Dadi to sit.

Dadi: Billu bring the mangalsutra and tie it around her wrist.

He followed her and slowly tied the mangalsutra around Anika's wrist which was less injured.

Dadi: How are you beta?
