The next morning the same routine continued for both the Malhotra's and Verma's. They had breakfast with their respective families and left for their offices, universities, & jobs. Today, Ishqi was supposed to meet Ahaan at his office to start working on the project they'd signed.

Ishqi reached the Malhotra Construction's office building, she sighed a breath of relief- "I'm just on time" she mumbled- It was 8: 57am and he'd asked her to be there at "9:00am sharp" she mimicked him.

Carrying her workbag in one hand and design papers & phone in the other she ran up the stairs, "Iss khadoos ka cabin kahan hai" she muttered- She roamed the hallways when she finally found a door that said "Ahaan Veer Malhotra"- "Thank god" she said- Her hands were not free so she couldn't knock- Ishqi stood there for a minute contemplating on what she should do. "Agar knock karey beghair chali gayi toh yeh banda manners pe gyan dena shuru karde ga.....Chalo choro, chali jaati houn, unko gyan dena ka mouka hi nahi doungi" she decided and pushed the door open with her back-

Ahaan was standing by the door checking some files that sat on the shelf- He saw Ishqi walking in his cabin, "YOU'RE LATE" he said really loudly and she turned around with a jerk, the heel of her shoe got stuck in the hook of a chair and she almost fell when Ahaan obviously caught her.

The papers flew out of her hold and her hands went around his nape, he caged his arms around her waist. Ahaan looked deeply into her big brown expressive eyes,"Yeh banda mujhe aise kyun ghoor raha hai, pakka chappad phad ke sunnai ga" Ishqi thought- She cleared her throat and regained her balance while Ahaan slid his hands off of her waist. "Tum har waqt girti kyun rehti ho?!" he asked her-

Ishqi: Aap mujhe kyun sunna rahe hai, saari ki saari galti aapki hai-

Ahaan: Meri? Meri galti kaise hui, oulta you should thank me, meine tumhe girne se baccha liya..again-

Ishqi: Excuse me! Aap itne zor se chillai, that's why I turned around with a jerk and mera shoe AAPKI chair se aatka- So saari galti aapki thi-

Ahaan: Tumse agrue karna ka koi fyada nahi hai, t-

Ishqi cut him off, "Toh na kijiye na, har waqt larhte rehte hai buss"

Ahaan: Ughh, tum mujhe yeh baatao ke why you're late? I hate people who arrive late, this tells me that you're not serious and-

Ishqi cut him off again, "CHUP! Bikul shsshhh- mein jaanti thi ke mujhe dekhte hi aapka gyan mode on hojana hai"

Ishqi: Mein late nahi thi, exact time pe aai thi but aapka cabin dhoondte dhoondte itna time lag gaya- aur waise bhi sirf 7 minutes der hi toh hui hai-

Ahaan: Whatever, now if your pointless blabbering is finished, should we start working?

Ishqi rolled her eyes at him, "Fine!"- She collected the papers that lay scattered on the floor and put them on the desk in a bundle, she then took a seat on the chair opposite him.

They started discussing about the project and were quite impressed with each others' business skills. The meeting was going smoothly until Ahaan said, "Okay! I'm guessing you have the designs saved on a flash drive?"

Ishqi gasped, "Kya hua?!" asked Ahaan-

Ishqi: Wohhhhh, umm-

Ahaan: Let me guess, you forgot to bring the flash drive with you?

Ishqi slightly nodded, "Ghar pe reh gayi..." she said in a low voice preparing herself for Ahaan's lecture, but to her surprise he said, "If you don't mind we can go to you house and continue the meeting there, kyunke it's important to complete this by the afternoon, Sonu aur Raj ki engagement ki prep bhi karni hai na"

Ishqi smiled, "Finally aapne koi sensible baat ki....Let's go!" saying this she grabbed her belongings and exited the cabin while Ahaan followed behind her. "This girl is impossible" he mumbled-

~ Both of them went to the Verma Mansion in their respective cars ~

Ahaan parked his car in the driveway and joined Ishqi who was twisting the keys around in the lock, "Aab isse kya problem hogayi hai?!!" she muttered-

Ahaan was now loosing his patience, "Bell baaja do"

Ishqi: Ghar par koi nahi hai-

Ahaan: Ghar par koi nahi hai?

Ishqi: Nahi- Zayan bhaiyya hospital gaye hai, Tara university mein hai, papa office mein, and DM aur maa Sarla Bua ke ghar-

Ishqi: Waise aap kyun puch rahe hai?

Ahaan: Waise hi, tum jaake usb ley aao phir hum yahan garden mein meeting kar lete hai-

Ishqi: Garden mein kyun? Mera room hai na- Wahan par chalte hai-

Ahaan: No! Mein aise tumhare room mein nahi aa sakta- It's not right- Ghar par koi bhi nahi hai-

Ishqi: Kyun? Aap ko darr lagta hai mujhse?

Ahaan: No, it's just t-

Ishqi cut him off, "Khul gaya, chaliye- zyada tension mat lijiye- sirf meeting hi toh karni hai", she said emphasizing on "sirf"

Ahaan sighed and followed her inside, she closed the door behind them and led him to her room, he took a seat on a chair while she fetched the usb from her closet.

Ahaan: Hurry up!

Ishqi: Aagayi- saying this she plugged the usb into her laptop and explained Ahaan her designs and plan in detail. He was impressed with her skills, He couldn't help but agree more with Manav, "she's excels in her field", "Agar yeh ladki aapni fazool baaton aur ajeeb language se mera dimaag kharab na karey toh these 3 years don't seem that hard anymore" he mentally said-

Just as they were wrapping up their meeting, Ishqi got a video call from Kartik and as her computer was plugged into the projector the whole room was visible...even Ahaan.

Ishqi: Kartik ka call? she answered the call and saw Tara/Kartik/Sonu/Raj on the other side of the screen.

Kartik almost immediately spotted Ahaan and said, "Bhai???"

Raj: Yeh toh Ishqi ka room hai...

Kartik: Bhaii?? Aap Ishqi ke room mein kya kar rahe ho, Hmmm? he said teasingly-

Ahaan: Shut up Kartik....meeting ke liye aya tha-

Tara joined Kartik in teasing the duo, "Waise Ishqi di, ghar par koi nahi hai and..."

Sonu: Koi nahi hai? Wah bhaiyya, shaadi meri aur Raj ki ho rahi hai but chup chup ke aap aur Ishqi mil rahe ho-

Ahaan: Shut up guys...yeh baatao phone kyun kiya?

Kartik: Aapko phone kaatne ki bohot jaldi ho rahi hai- Hmmm chakar kya hai?

Ishqi: Kartikkkk-

Kartik: Okay okay fine...waise accha hai ke aap dono ek saath ho...humne call yeh baatane ke liye kiya hai ke aap dono SAATH mall aajao- Jaldi se- Sarla Auntie ne decided kiya hai ke engagement aaj raat ko hogi-

Ishqi: But woh toh kal hone waali thi na-

Raj: Hone waali thi...aadhe ghante pehle decide hua ke aaj hogi issilye aap dono jaldi se mall aajaiye-

Ishqi: Ok hum aarahe hai-

Kartik: Aur bhai and Ishqi pleasee SAATH mein aana...matlab ek ghadi mein- humare paas itna time nahi hai-

Ahaan sighed, "Ok fine, see you guys in 30 minutes"

Ishqi ended the call and turned towards Ahaan, "Aap please 5 minutes wait kijiye, mein jaldi se change kar ke aati houn"

Ahaan: Kyun? Acchi toh lag rahi toh- he bit his tongue while Ishqi's eyes widened at his remark, "Gi?" she questioned-

Ahaan: I meant to say that yeh kapre theek toh hai-

Ishqi: But office ke hai, shopping karne ke nahi- Just give me 5 minutes-

Ishqi grabbed her clothes from her closet and ran inside the bathroom to change while Ahaan sat on her bed & waited for her.

His eyes fell on a photo frame of her sitting on the side table, he smiled looking at it, "This girl is soo annoying...annoying but cute"-

.....Ahaan had absolutely no idea that the girl whom he now found annoying would one day become the reason behind his smile. The sky looked upon him and smiled, "if only he knew" ✨
