"I'm rich too, you know... The daughter of a sultan... A fine prize for any prince to marry...Right, a prince like you. And every other stuffed shirt, swaggering, peacock I've met! Just go jump off a balcony!" Rubina enacted for the 5th time in the living room for her (captive) audience of Raahil and Rishi.
"It's good Rubi. Bas itni practice mat kar lena ki kal gala hi baith jaaye." Raahil told her, reading a book on the couch.
"I know bhaiya but I want it to be perfect! Lead role woh bhi 7th Grade Play mein is a huge deal!" Rubina exclaimed.
"KiddOs, dinner!" Rudra called out.
"Ginger, honey and lemon water for you, Princess Jasmine." Rudra placed a mug in front of Rubina and dramatically bowed to her.
"Why thank you, kind sir!" Rubina curtseyed dramatically in response.
Rudra scooped a portion of Rajma Chawal into the kids' plates before sitting down with Gauri and Om to eat an early dinner.
"Shivaay aur Bhavya kahaan hain?" Om asked, helping himself to the bowl of Rajma.
"Bhaiya office mein hain, kuch reviews dekh ke and contracts padh ke aayenge. Bhavya upar kamre mein hain, meeting notes bana rahi hain." Rudra informed.
"Chhote Papa, Dadaji bhi Chairman the na? Kya Dadaji bhi itna late tak itna saara kaam karte the?" Rishi asked, popping a spoonful of rice in his mouth.
"Bilkul nahi." OmRu replied in unison, causing Rishi to snort, Raahil to cough and Rubina to laugh.
"So sorry, humein aane mein der ho gayi." Bhavya apologised as she made her way to dining table and sat down, taking the food in her plate.
"Bhavya tum late nahi ho, hum hi jaldi khaane baith gayi." Gauri said and gave Bhavya some chopped up onions, green chillies and lemon wedges to put on her Rajma.
"Hum aap sabko pehle hi join karne wale the likin kal shaam ko Delhi Police ke Joint Commissioner ke saath meeting hain, usi ki tayyaari kar rahe the." Bhavya informed them but Rudra stopped eating, looked at Rubina then at Bhavya.
Rudra dropped his voice to whisper, "Kal shaam ko Rubi ka play hain."
"Nahi, Rubi ka play parso hain." Bhavya replied in a whisper.
"Nahi Bhavya, kal hain. Tuesday ko."
"Tuesday kal hain!?" Bhavya nearly whisper-yelled, drawing attention to herself.
"Chhoti maa, sab theek hain?" Raahil asked.
Bhavya blinked in confusion then shook her head slightly. "Ha..haan sab theek hain."
No one looked convinced.
Rubina looked closely at her parents, thinking about their conversation when she realised what were they talking about.
"Aap mera play dekhne nahi aa rahe ho?"
Rubina's grey eyes were glistening and her wide smile from earlier disappeared into a frown. Bhavya didn't know how to look at her daughter without crying herself.
"Rubi, woh... hum... humare dimaag se hi nikal gaya Tuesday kal hain..."
"Toh aap nahi aa rahe ho." Rubina concluded before pushing her plate away and getting up from the dining table.
"Rubi, khaana finish kar lo." Om insisted but Rubina was already towards her room.
"Mera pet bhar gaya." Rubina disappeared into her room. Rudra glanced at Rubina's plate and while a few bites were left, she ate most of her food so he wasn't worried that she'll go bed hungry. He channelled his attention back to Bhavya. Bhavya was visibly upset and feeling guilty. Rubina had been looking forward to this play for the past 3 months, even marking the date on every calendar in the house. She had been working hard for the play while balancing her schoolwork and karate classes. She had asked Rudra and her weeks advance to come and see her play and both of them assured they definitely would. Bhavya wasn't able to keep up the promise.
"Hey," Rudra kept a hand on her shoulder. "aap theek hain?"
Bhavya simply nodded, slowly chewing on the last few bites of her food. Rest of dinner continued with Gauri occasionally rebuking Rishi for playing with his food and pushing Raahil and Om to eat more vegetables.
After dinner, Rudra went to check on Rubina. She was lying on her bed, scrolling through Instagram on her phone.
"You should get some, your royal highness." Rudra approached her and sat on the edge of her bed. Rubina continued scrolling.
"Rubi, eyes ko rest do. Let ke phone use karoge toh mote-mote chasmein lag jaayenge, kal sir dukhne lagega woh alag." Rudra fussed, making Rubina say a drawn out "fiiinneee" before putting her phone away. Rudra sat cross-legged on the bed, facing her.
"You're upset."
"Mumma ne promise kiya tha ko woh mera play dekhne aayengi." Rubina said in a soft voice, looking down and tugging at the hem of her t-shirt.
"Mumma aana chahti thi, likin kal hi Commissionar Uncle ke saath Mumma ki bahot important meeting aa gayi. Warna aisa kabhi hua hain ki Mumma aur Papa Rubi ko perform karte hue dekhne na aaye hon?"
Rubina looked up and shook her head.
"Aur Papa toh aa hi rahe hain. Main, Chubby Uncle aur Kavya Aunty front row se zor-zor se cheer karenge aur poora play record karenge aur Mumma ko dekhayenge." Rudra grinned but Rubina gave him a stare, the same one Bhavya gave him when he said something stupid.
"Papa, plays and theatre productions mein zor-zor se cheer nahi karna hota, sirf clap karna hota hain."
Rudra got and dipped in a dramatic bow. "As her highness commands."
Earning a giggle from her, Rudra wished her goodnight and offered to tuck her in, which Rubina was quick to refuse as she was "a grown up tween now". Tween! Rudra could swear she went from 2 to 12 in a month!
By the time Bhavya went through the presentation and meeting notes one last time, Rudra had fallen asleep. Before going to bed, she decided to pay Rubina's room a visit. Rubina was fast asleep, a satin eye mask covering her eyes, mouth slightly parted and one leg out of the blanket, dangling off the edge of the bed. A habit she got from Rudra. Being the youngest daughter, she was doted on by everyone in the house, including Shivani. In fact, for the longest time Rubina followed Shivani around the way Rudra followed Shivaay around when they were kids. At first glance, Rubina was basically a mini female version of Rudra. But Rubina was also brave, observant, smart and disliking showing vulnerability, much like Bhavya. A mix of both their characteristics and her unique self. Bhavya tip-toed into the room, gently positioned Rubina into a comfortable position and tucked her in, ensuring not to break her sleep. She kissed her forehead and went back to her room.
As Bhavya lay in bed next to Rudra, she got lost in the memories of the struggles they went through to have Rubina and the unbridled joy that she bought with her.
Flashback
Rudra got back from work and plopped face down on the bed. Along with managing the fashion house, he had also started working in the airlines company of Oberoi Group of Industries. Tej was shocked to say the least when Rudra said he did want to join the family business upon completing his MBA, just after his wedding. Shivaay and Om had taken him aside and asked if Tej had been forcing him and reassured him that he didn't have to do anything he didn't want. It took Rudra quite some efforts to convince his brothers that it was his wish to join and contribute to their grandfathers legacy (Shivaay nearly cried when he heard that). Though it didn't matter that his father was the Chairman and his brother was the CEO, Rudra had to train like every other employee and he suddenly understood why Shivaay and Tej were so mechanical and stoic. Nevertheless, he successfully completed his training in marketing and earned his seat on the board, which Rudra realised way more difficult than training period could be.
"Hum aapse poochhne wale the ki aapka din kaisa tha likin lag nahi raha humein poochhne ki zarorat hain."
Rudra turned his head to the side and saw Bhavya returning from work. She hadn't changed a bit from the day Rudra met her. Except that she was no longer ACP Bhavya Pratap Rathore. She was DCP Bhavya Rathore-Oberoi, receiving the promotion just a few months after their wedding. Rudra ran around that day, screaming that he's the "proud husband of D!C!P! Bhavya Rathore-Oberoi!"
"Bhavya, main aapse request kar raha hoon, agar main Papa jaisa banta dikhayi doon, mujhe please reboot hone ke liye pahadon mein bhej dena." Rudra requested, making Bhavya laugh. She took off her uniform and changed into her night suit. With a grunt, Rudra managed to sit up on the bed as Bhavya sat beside him. Normally, they would go about their day share anecdotes but today Bhavya seemed nervous about something.
"Rudy... hum aapse kuch baat karna chahte hain. Kuch zaroori."
Rudra shifted slightly, his demeanour changing into a slightly serious one.
"Boliye?"
"Aapko bacche chahiye ya nahi? Aur abhi nahi ya kabhi nahi?"
Rudra nearly fell backwards. This was not the conversation starter he was expecting.
"A..ab...ba...bacche? K..k..kyoon? Achaanak se kyoon?"
"Achanak se nahi, kaafi dino se yeh baat humare mann mein thi." Bhavya confessed.
"Aap... kya aap-"
"Nahi nahi! Pregnant hain nahi, bas soch rahe the, as in bacchon ke baare mein- ek minute! Pehle aap humare sawaal ka jawaab dijiye." Bhavya commanded with her interrogative eyes.
Rudra thought long and hard and the answer that came to him, surprised them both.
"Mujhe bacche chahiye."
"Sacchi?!" Bhavya nearly shrieked.
"Haan, aur aapko?"
"Humein bhi." Bhavya replied, slight blush creeping on to her cheeks, but Bhavya shook it away. "Hum aapse baat is liye karna chahte the kyoonki hum 30 ke ho gaye hain, uske baad fertility issues hone lagte hain aur complications bhi."
Rudra nodded, leaning closer.
"Since aapko aur hume, dono ko bacche chahiye, hum soch rahe the yeh sahi waqt IVF ke through embryos freeze karwane ka taaki aage chalke minimal complications-"
Rudra held out his hand. "Ek second, hum IVF kyoon karayenge?!"
"Abhi toh bataya, 30 ke baad complications badne lagti hain toh agar hume aage jaake bacche chahiye-"
"Abhi kyoon nahi?"
Bhavya blinked, not sure if she heard it right, "Huh?"
Rudra scooted closer and kept his hand on Bhavya's knee. "Let's have a baby."
"...KYA?!" Bhavya jumped nearly 2 feet in the air, startling Rudra.
"Kyoon? Aapko abhi bacche nahi chahiye?"
"Ha..na..haan, matlab nahi, matlab haan, hume bacche chahiye likin abhi?! Aap tayyaar hain?!"
Rudra again thought, though this time the answer came very naturally.
"Haan. I think hum dono tayyaar hain." He took Bhavya's hand in his. "I love you Bhavya and I think yeh sahi time hain is next step ke liye. Humare shaadi ko 2 saal ho gaye hain, we have stable careers, Shivani aur Raahil are almost 1. Unko ek chhoti behen ya bhai dena chahiye hume, nahi?"
"Are you sure?" Bhavya asked.
"Yes." Rudra replied. "Aur kuch doubts ya questions hue toh mere dono bhai kab kaam aayenge?"
Bhavya giggled. "Okay hume plan karna shuru karna chahiye, bahot saare cheezein account mein leni hain, hume leaves plan karni hogi, doctors and backup doctors dhoondhne honge, preschools short-list karne honge-"
Bhavya was cut off mid-sentence as Rudra pushed her on to the bed and pinned her underneath him.
"Itne saari planning aur sabse important step toh aap bhool hi gaayi."
And despite being married for 2 years, Bhavya's cheeks flushed red. "Kya...kya bol rahe hain!"
"Sahi hi toh bol raha hoon. Baby ke liye sab kuch plan toh kar lenge, par baby ko aana bhi toh padega na?" Rudra said and wiggled his eyebrows impishly. Bhavya tried to push him away but Rudra kept her pinned down (forgetting that Bhavya was capable of subduing opponents rwice Rudra's size). The night passed away with Rudra and Bhavya wrapped in each others arms, imagining a life with their little baby.
However, it turns out it was not as simple as they thought.
Rudra and Bhavya had been trying to conceive for 6 months, without avail. The first month they thought nothing of it, not everyone could conceive at first try. Their research indicated that it could between a month to a year to get pregnant. They decided to make healthier life choices during this time, improving their chances of conceiving and having less complications. But 6 months, countless negative pregnancy tests and one false positive test later, Bhavya's patience began to run low.
"Woh doctor kya kehna chah rahi thi? "Stress"?! "Stress kam lo"?! Hum ek police officer hain, undercover agent reh chuke hain, hum stress deal karna jaante hain!"
"I think Dr Madan meant ki pregnancy ka stress mat lijiye-"
"Pregnancy ka stress lene ke liye pehle pregnant hona padega na!"
"I meant ki kabhi kabhi time lagta-"
"Kitna time Rudy?! 6 mahine se hum try hi toh kar rahe hain!"
"Dr Madan ne kaha tha 1 saal tak lag sakta hain. Uske baad-"
"Uske baad kya? Aap toh abhi bhi young, par humari umar toh badti jaayegi. Aapko kya farq padega?!"
"What do you mean mujhe kya farq padega?! Of course mujhe farq padega. Aap wife ho meri, aap pareshaan hongi toh mujhe bahot farq padega. Aapko lagta hain main nahi chahta hum jaldi conceive kar sake? Har negative test par aapka udaas chehra dekh mujhe khushi hoti hain? Aapke kacche ande chudwa ke mujhe mazza aata hain? Main yeh baccha utna nahi chahta jitna aap chahti hain? Boliye!"
Rudra was panting heavily. Bhavya had been upset and angry since they returned from the gynaecologist's. Rudra was knew this was harder on Bhavya and tried to be understanding but he lost it when Bhavya said it doesn't affect him. Of course it affects him! Does she think he doesn't love her enough that her pain won't affect him?
Bhavya closed her eyes and sat on the bad. "It's my fault."
Rudra immediately knelt in front of her as a few tears fell from her eyes. "Are you crazy?! Of course it's not your fault."
"But it's true. Mujhmein hi koi kami hogi, isi liye hum abhi tak-"
"Okay, no, none of that. Come on Bhavya, you know better than this. Galti aapki nahi, kisi ki bhi nahi hain, hum dono ki reports bilkul normal hain. As Dr Madan said, kabhi-kabhi bas... time lagta hain. Humare ghar mein hi dekh lo. O aur mujhe 6 saal ka gap, Prinku aur mujhmein 2."
Bhavya nearly snorted at that and lightly slapped Rudra's arm. Rudra sat next her and side-hugged her.
"Bhavya, baby or not, I want you to be healthy and happy."
"Hum bhi yahi chahte hain Rudy, ki aap khush rahe."
"Toh simple, aap yeh faaltu baatein mat sochiye. Positive cheezein sochiye, main aone aap khush ho jaaoonga."
Bhavya laughed, genuinely laughed and snuggled closer to him as Rudra kissed her forehead. They decided to see a fertility expert 6 months. Till than, they let things be, deciding go with the flow and enjoy life. If they could conceive, well and good, otherwise they could always seek professional help.
And if you desire something from the heart, the world conspires to bring it to you.
5 months after their decision, Bhavya and Rudra had taken a vacation and upon returning, Bhavya realised she was late.
"Test negative hua toh?" Bhavya asked, tapping her nails against the counter.
"Toh doosra hain aur teesra bhi, teeno alag brands." Rudra replied, pointing to the three pregnancy tests on counter.
"Teeno negative hue toh?"
"Toh teeno negative hue."
"Rudy!"
"Bhavya~"
"Aap humein seriously nahi le rahe."
"Main seriously bol raha hoon, test negative hua toh negative hua. We'll know and us hisaab se hum aage badh sakte hain."
The timer in Bhavya's phone went off, which meant they could check the results. Bhavya had extremely steady hands but they were shaking like a leaf as she picked up one of the tests and read the results.
"Ru...ru...Ru...Rudy..."
Rudra immediately held Bhavya's hand turned the test towards him. Two lines. TWO LINES! Both of them checked the other two tests. Another two lines and a plus sign. All three tests positive.
Bhavya was gasping and laughing and crying, all the same time. "Rudy! Rudy tests positive hain! It's all positive!"
Rudra was frozen. He wasn't fully able to comprehend the test results until Bhavya basically yelled it into his ears. He turned towards her, pupils blown wide and mouth hanging open. "Positive matlab aap...aap... aap pregnant hain..."
With tears in her eyes, Bhavya smiled the biggest smile and nodded. "Aap baap banne wale hain. We're having a baby!"
That was all it took for Rudra to scream in happiness and scoop Bhavya into his arms, spinning her in a circle before settling her down carefully.
"HA! I KNEW IT! I knew it! Meri gut feeling yahi keh rahi thi! Bhavyaaaaaaaa! Oh my God Bhavya finally! We're finally having baby! Oh my- Oh my God, humein sabko bata hoga!"
Rudra practically flew down the stairs, calling out to everyone in OM.
Shivaay was the first one to hold Rudra down before he made people (and himself) dizzy with how fast he was moving around. "Kya hua, ek jagah khade reh ke shaanti se bata."
Rudra ignored the last part. "Shaanti se kaise bataoon bhaiya~" He took Shivaay and Om's hands and shook them furiously. "Mubaarak ho, mubaarak ho, aap dono Bade Papas banne wale ho! Bhavya is pregnant! We are pregnant!"
"KYA?!" Everyone yelled together.
Gauri was the first one to approach Bhavya, who standing quietly, a stark contrast to Rudra's eccentricity. "Bhavya, ka...ka Rudy bhaiya sach bol rahe hain?"
"Humne doctors se confirm nahi kara hain likin home tests... positive hain." Bhavya told as calmly as possible. The next thing she knew, she was wrapped in a hug by Gauri, followed by Anika and Jhanvi. Gauri and Anika moved aside to let Jhanvi hug her youngest daughter-in-law, having been moved to tears. Tej was the first to pull Rudra away from his brothers and into a tight hug, one that shocked even Rudra.
"Mubaraak ho bete, mubaarak ho." Tej said and patted Rudra's back before pulling away and pinching the bridge of his nose to stop his tears. Yes, the Tej Singh Oberoi had been moved to tears hearing that his youngest son was going to become a father.
Rudra and Bhavya touched Dadi's feet, the latter blessing them and pulling them into a hug. Pinky and Shakti congratulated the two, Pinky as jolly as she was when Anika's pregnancy was announced.
"Shivaay, apne bhai ko dhang se congratulations toh bol. Omkara tu bhi. Aise but banke kya khade ho?" Pinky asked.
It was then the others realised that ShivOm were in a near catatonic stupor since Rudra dropped the news. Anika and Gauri waved a hand in front of the brothers but no response. Rudra went up to and screamed near their ears. "BHAIYA!"
Shivaay flinched so hard that he hit Om's jaw, bringing him back too, though in pain.
"Rudra, don't you dare tell me this a prank." Om threatened while rubbing his jaw.
"Kya O! Yeh bhi koi prank karne ki baat hain?!" Rudra huffed.
"Likin kaise?!"
Anika swatted Shivaay's arm, cheeks turning red. "Kya matlab kaise?!"
Bhavya understood what her Shivaay Bhaiya meant and came to his rescue. "Actually Rudra aur humein laga yeh sahi time humare rishte mein next step lene ka. Hum almost ek saal try kar rahe the and... finally!"
Bhavya grinned, a wide grin that Rudra mirrored.
That's when it hit Shivaay and Om. Rudra was going to be a father. Their baby brother was going to have a baby.
"Ru...Rudy..."
Rudra turned towards ShivOm and was pulled into a tight hug, so tight he thought his brothers might crush him. Om had tears running down his cheeks and managed to get a shaky "congratulations Rudy" out but Shivaay was so sobbing hard, he could barely catch his breath.
"Arey bhaiya, bas bas, I know aapko dukh ho raha hain ki finally buddhe ho rahe ho likin mere liye aap humesha hi old generation wale the."
Despite choking on his words, Shivaay was able to say one sentence clearly. "Shut up Rudra!"
The family burst into laughter. Om congratulated the couple while continuously wiping his tears. Shivaay was finally able to say congratulations to the couple after 10 minutes of Anika rubbing his back and getting him calm down.
That day, love and happiness flew like waterfalls through Oberoi Mansion.
Flashback ends
Blessed with love. That was one of the many meanings of the name Rubina. Rudra and Bhavya struck out name after name before deciding on Rubina. A name perfect for their precious little girl.
The ringing of her alarm pulled Bhavya out of her reverie. Bhavya turned off the alarm and shook Rudra, who curled up further in his blanket.
"5 minute aur." Rudra mumbled. An everyday affair for him. Bhavya went to freshen up by time Rudra finally got off the bed.
Rudra back-hugged Bhavya and wished her good morning, not missing her brooding demeanour.
"Meri beautiful wife sad kyoon hain?" He asked.
"Hume bura lag raha hain. Rubi ka itna important din hain, jo hum apni poor planning ki wajah se miss kar rahe hain. I am a bad mom."
"Haan, kyoonki kaam, ghar aur bacche sab effortlessly bina kuch miss kiye sambhaalna toh women ke liye society ka rule hain jo aapne internalize kiya hua hain." Rudra half-scolded Bhavya before cupping her cheek with one hand. "Hum har baar har cheez ko apna 100% nahi se sakte, it's impossible to hold ourselves to that standard. Rubi abhi chhoti hain likin aage jaake woh bhi samajh jaayegi, agar yeh baat uske parents ke pehle accept karein toh."
Bhavya kept her hand on Rudra's shoulder, eyes glistening. "Hum itne lucky kaise ho gaye ki humein aap mil gaye?"
"Are you kidding me!?" Rudra looked genuinely shocked. "I am the lucky one! Main itna immature aur dumb tha but you stayed. You made a man out of me Bhavya."
Bhavya laughed but a couple teardrops escaped her eyes. Rudra wiped them away and kissed his wife's forehead.
"Meeting ke liye all the best."
"Aapko bhi!"
Evening
Auditorium
St. Paul's International School
Parents began filing into the auditorium one by one, students standing at the entrance to guide the parents to their seats, Rudra was speed-walking through the rows of seat. He was late as a meeting ran late but hoped there was empty seat in the front row. Well, second row as the first one was reserved for chief guests, chairman and principle.
"Rudy!" Chubby called out from the second row, waving to Rudra. Rudra immediately went to Chubby where he and his wife Kavya had saved seats for him & Bhavya.
"Chubby, mere yaar, bacha liya tune mujhe!" Rudra hugged Chubby and Kavya as he took his seat neat to them. "Rubi mujhe khaa jaati agar main uska play record nahi kar pata."
"Bhavya kahaan hain?" Kavya asked.
"Bhavya ki urgent and important meeting aa padi toh she won't be able to come." Rudra informed them with a sad frown.
"Oh no, Rubi kitni excited thi. Is she okay?" Kavya asked.
"Rubi was upset but she's okay, she spent all of today getting in character. Bhavya is sadder."
"Good evening respected Principal Ma'am, parents and teachers. Welcome to the rendition of Aladdin presented by students of Grade 7 of St. Paul's International School. We request you to kindly take your seats and switch your electronic devices to switch off of silent mode. Thank you." One of the students announced. The beauty about Grade 7 Plays was everything, from acting and anchoring to backstage management and music was done entirely by Grade 7 students to build skill and confidence.
Just as the lights were about to be dimmed, Kavya glanced towards the door and her eyes widened in surprise. "Bhavya!" She called out and waved.
Rudra and Chubby looked in direction Kavya was looking in and were shocked and surprised to see Bhavya, still in uniform, walking towards them through the narrow aisles of the auditorium. She sat in between Rudra and Kavya, panting heavily.
"hum late to nah ho Gaye? Much miss joh ahi kiya humne?" Bhavya asked, breathing heavily and trying to catch her breath.
Kavya handed her a small bottle of water, which Bhavya gladly accepted while Chubby informed her, "No-no, you're just on time. Saans le lo aaram se."
"Aapki meeting?" Rudra asked in a whisper.
"Called in sick and asked a friend to cover for me then bhaag ke yahaan aaye." Bhavya replied, still taking a few deep breaths.
"Aap theek hain na? And kuch issue toh nahi hoga?"
"Hum theek hain and kuch issue hoga bhi toh kal dekh lenge." Bhavya looked at Rudra and reached for his hand. "Aap sahi keh rahe the, hum haar baar har cheez ko apna 100% nahi de sakte. Likin choice agar Rubi aur kisi sur cheez ke beech ho, it'll always be Rubi."
Had they not been in the school auditorium, Rudra would've kissed her then and there. Just looking Bhavya; hair slightly out of place and still talking a few deep breathes, he fell in love with her a little bit more. While he could not kiss her, Rudra squeezed her hand and let his eyes convey the love they held for her.
"CeeCee!"
RuVya looked towards Chubby and Kavya, who were waving to their daughter Chahat in the wings, who waved back excitedly. They looked closely and realised Rubi was next to her but looking towards other side of the stage.
"Rubi look here, Rubi look here, Rubi look here!" Rudra spoke internally.
Rubina glanced around the audience, looking for her dad. She spotted him next to Chubby Uncle and Kavya Aunty and... her mom too!?
"Rubi!" Bhavya whisper-yelled and shook Rudra slightly before waving to her and giving her a thumbs up, which Rudra replicated. Just before the lights went out completely, RuVya caught a glimpse of her wide smile and sparkle in her eyes as the opening theme started playing. Hand in hand, Rudra and Bhavya watched their daughter play the princess she is to them.
A/N: I've read a lot of stories of ShivIka as parents and many on RiKara too but barely any on RuVya. I wanted to explore how RuVya would be like as parents and the ups and downs they go through in this journey.
Hope you enjoyed
