Ruhi watched Abhira, her heart heavy with a mixture of pain and grief as the doctor examined her. She noticed how Abhira,s complexion had paled, despite the peace that was clouding her expression, she noticed traces of inner turmoil and breakdown, etched deep into her face, marks of dried tears were evident across her features, dark circles etched under her eyes, a testament to the pain and greif she had endured and the thought had her heart twisting with pain.

The doctor turned, her expression unreadable

Abhira ka body temperature thoda low hai jiski wajah se yeh shock mein gayi hai and panic attack ke signs bhi dikh rahe hain jinki wajah se yeh behosh hui hai.

The doctor said, her expression hardening.

Plus her diet is severely lacking which has contributed to her physical weakness.

The doctor spoke, a trace of sympathy clouding her otherwise hardened expression.

And her mental health....

The doctor trailed off, a sigh escaped her lips.

Mental health....

Armaan trailed off, his heart pounding wildly in his ears, his stomach churning in discomfort at the thought.

The doctor looked at Armaan, her voice professional

She's in depression.

Armaan gasped in shock, a pang of dread hitting him. His mind raced trying to process the the piece of information.

No.

The word barely escaped him, a mixture of fear and uncertainty washing over him in cold waves. The guilt suddenly chocking him up.

Abhira bahot weak hai and....

The doctor trailed off, a sigh escaped her.

She's under immense pressure. Agar aisa hi chalta raha toh shayad Abhira depression ke uss mukam per pohanch jayegi jahan se usse wapas lana nearly impossible ho jayega.

The words hit Armaan like a physical blow, the guilt which was already suffocating, tightened it's grip over him causing him to chock on his breath.

Ruhi,s legs wobbled and she sank down on the chair feeling all the blood rush to her head, a sob escaping her lips, her heart raced with a mixture of pain, grief and an overwhelming sense of guilt.

Doctor.

Ruhi spoke as she found her voice but it was barely above a whisper, trembling and heavy.

She'll be fine right?

The trio asked in unison, their hearts pounding with a mixture of fear and hope.

She'll be fine. But it'll take time. She needs proper nutrition, love and care, and emotional support

The trio nodded, a mixture of emotions flooding through their hearts.

The doctor turned to Armaan, her expression unreadable.

Armaan tum Abhira ke husband ho. Tumhein toh sabse pehle pata hona chahiye tha Abhira ki mental, emotional and physical health ke bare mein. How could you let her reach this point? I can see that she's holding up too much burden.

Armaan trembled from the weight of the doctor,s words, his heart twisting with a complex mixture of emotions. His throat constricted with emotion and he couldn't escape the guilt that consumed him. The weight of the doctors words settled heavily over his heart, his chest tightened as if weighed down by an unseen pressure her didn't knew how to bear.

As the doctor left, Armaan,s knees gave out and he sank down on the floor with a loud thud as an overwhelming sense of guilt gawked at his insides.

His hands trembled as he reached out, his fingers brushing against her slightly cold skin in a light caress.

He looked at her pale form noticing how thinner she had got. His heart clenched painfully, pounding in his ears as he watched her.

His mind traveled back to the memories. He remembered how she had put afforts into their marriage, how she had reached out to comfort him, their fights, his harsh words and a sob escaped as the guilt clenched him in an ironclad hold.

His body started to tremble with the force of his emotions. Tears streamed down his face as he gazed at the love of his life who was laying motionless. He pressed his forehead against the back of her palm, clenching her hand in a tight grasp as if he was afraid that if he leaves her then she might vanish into thin air.

Tears streamed down his face and he spoke, his voice hoarse and trembling with emotion.

Abhira wake up na.

His breath came out trembling, his hold on her hand tightened as the guilt pressed heavily over him.

Abhira please uth jao. I'm sorry. Mere gadha hoon, bewakoof hoon but I can't see you like this please wake up.

He cried, his words, a raw plea that came from the depth of his heart.

Uth jao na main nahin dekh sakta tumhein aise.

Armaan pleaded, their hands interlocked, his thumb tracing circles on the back of her hand.

The night seemed to stretch on endlessly, the past continued to haunt Armaan leaving him adrift in a sea of uncertainty, fear, and all consuming guilt. The moonlight filtered through the windows casting delicate shadows across the room. And Armaan watched Abhira, the bedside lamp bathed Abhira,s complexion in the color of warm honey, her eyes, currently hidden by her long lashes were a testament of her intense expressiveness. When they flickered open, they were always wide and bright, brimming with life and hope and his heart clenched painfully in his chest at the thought.

His eyes snapped shut as a powerful wave of regret crashed over him, his throat tightened.

Agony bled through his heart. Her eyes once brimming with life, hope and affection now haunted him with pain and grief. The weight of his harsh words pressed heavily over his chest binding his heart to the ache of longing, pain and overwhelming guilt.

Abhira please come back. Main sab theek ker doonga I promise. Main tumhein woh sari khushiyan doonga jo tum deserve kerti ho.

Armaan spoke, his voice breaking with anguish and an overwhelming sense of guilt.

Are you sure Armaan?

Armaan,s head jolted up hearing Abhira,s voice and his eyes lit up with a mixture of relief and delight.

Abhira.

He called out, his voice trembling with delight as he slowly stood up from the bed.

Armaan moved towards her, his steps slow and tentative as he walked towards her, the distance between them blurring into insignificance and they stood in front of each other.

Tum aa gayi?

Armaan asked, his voice trembling with a mixture of joy and relief.

His hands trembled as he reached out to cradle her face, tears tracing paths down his cheeks.

However, Abhira stopped him raising her hand and gently enveloping his trembling hand, their fingers locking, the warmth of her touch was a grounding force against the emotional turmoil ragging within him.

Pichli baar bhi yehi kaha tha tumne.

She said, her voice soft.

Armaan looked at her, his heart trembling with guilt.

I know. Lekin please mujhe maaf ker do. Mujhse door mat jao. Main mar jaunga Abhira. Main nahin ji sakta tumhare bina.

He said, the words trembled out of him, his vulnerability evident.

Abhira looked at him and said, her tone softening.

I was a burden. I failed. I couldn't be the perfect wife you desired. I was the reason of your mother's hatred towards you.

Her words crashed over him like a tidal wave leaving him adrift in a sea of uncertainty and pain.

Each word hit him like a dagger cutting through his soul. The words felt like a bitter pill to swallow, the guilt embraced him tightly all over again, leaving him shivering in it's grasp.

It's not true.

He shook his head firmly, his tears falling.

Fail tum nahin main hua hoon. Main as a husband fail ho gaya hoon. Maine tumhein khud se door ker dia jab tumhein meri sabse zyada zaroorat thi. Please Abhira. I beg you.

He cried out, a fresh wave of tears spilling over as he sank down on the floor, his soul nearly tearing apart, crushed under the weight he could no longer bear.

Mujhe ijazat do Armaan.

Abhira,s words made him look up at her, his eyes red with unshed tears.

Kis cheez ki?

Armaan asked, his heart pounding with a mixture of fear and uncertainty.

Jane ki.

Her words had his heart stuck somewhere at the base of his throat and he shook his head sideways.

Nahin Abhira....

Tumhein pata hai Armaan?

A soft smile graced her face, the white Shalwar kameez flowing around her petite frame.

Mumma ne mujhe bataya tha ek baar ke jahan apki zaroorat na ho wahan se chale jana chahiye. I'm just following the teaching,s of my mother.

She said with a soft smile playing on her face, her face glowing in the moonlight.

Armaan looked at her with fear-stricken eyes and countered, his voice trembling with a mixture of vulnerability and sincarity.

Kisne kaha yahan tumhari zaroorat nahin hai. Baba ko tumhari zaroorat hai, Krish, Charu, Ruhi aur mujhe tumhari zaroorat hai.

Nahin hai.

She said, her tone firm.

Tumhein meri zaroorat nahin hai.

Abhira said sharply causing Armaan,s heart to pound restlessly in his ears, fear evident in his gaze as she moved back, a beautiful smile adorned her face as she uttered.

Khush rehna Armaan. You deserve better.

Abhira!!!!

Armaan let out a scream filled with terror.

Armaan,s eyes snapped open, his body jolting with the force of the nightmare and he stared down only to find Abhira asleep, their hands still tightly interlocked while he was still sitting on the floor beside the bed. Armaan,s fingers stroked the back of her palm with a soft touch.

Armaan looked at her unblinkingly, his breathing uneven. His heart pounding with a mixture of fear and uncertainty.

He swallowed hard and leaned forward, his mind still caught in the haze of the nightmare and he placed his head over her chest.

An overwhelming sense of relief washed over him as he heard her heart beat right below his ear.

He lifted his head and placed a kiss on her forehead, his heart trembling.

Black. The world was black.

Abhira felt her heart race. An unsettling feeling gawked at her consciousness. She knew something was wrong, deeply unsettlingly wrong.

She nedded to open her eyes but her eyes remained closed. Her eyelashes felt heavy as if weighed down by an unseen force, refusing her every attempt to lift them.

Colder. She felt cold, an icy feeling gripped her heart and she felt a bone chilling coldness seeping into her skin almost numbing her senses.

Her mind raced, her thoughts a tangled mess. A part of her wanted to escape the darkness while the other part of her craved for the comfort it brought, a refuge from the overwhelming reality she wasn't ready to face.

Armaan,s eyes were fixed on Abhira, noticing the slight movement of her finger and his heart pounded with hope.

Wake up please.

His heart pleaded with the sense of an overwhelming sense of yearning.

Abhira stirred, her eyes fluttering open, her mind raced trying to make sense of her surroundings before her eyes fixed themselves over him.

Abhira.

Armaan called out, his heart pounding.
