Kya soch rahe ho?
The voice asked, concern evident in it's tone.
He blinked his eyes, a hint of vulnerability evident in his gaze.
Mujhe shadi nahin kerni.
Armaan said, his voice carrying a raw plea that came from the depths of his heart.
Kyun? I mean she's your best friend and you look happy.
The voice asked, confused and concern evident in it's tone.
Pata nahin. Just I don't want to marry. I hate this feeling of guilt...
Armaan trailed off, not being able to put his thoughts in words and held his head closing his eyes.
Guilt?
The voice asked, a hint of concern evident in it's tone.
I don't know aisa lagta hai jaise kisi ko dhoka de raha hoon main. It feeling like a sin.
Armaan said, the vulnerability in his voice clear.
He didn't hear the voice then and layed on the bed.
Chunri sundar hai na yeh aur jaani pehchani bhi.
The voice asked, a hint of awe evident in it's tone. Armaan pushed himself up, sitting upright on the edge of the bed with his legs hanging down.
He looked at the chunri, admiration avident in his eyes.
Haan bahot sundar hai.
Armaan said, his voice barely above a whisper and heard a soft hum in return.
He didn't hear anything but could feel the presence and a gaze on him. But he didn't care.
He looked at the chunri sitting on the bed, it's soft red fabric adorned with white thread work and silver sequins give it a soft yet royal look. Caressing it with a delicate touch, he closed his eyes, marvelling the softness of the chunri. He opened his eyes and looked at the fabric with an undescribable emotion in his eyes. He felt as If he has seen this chunri before. He felt as if his fingers has felt it's softness way before. The unknown emotions swirling within him left him puzzled. He brought the chunri close to himself and inhaled the fragrance of roses. As the fragrance of roses wafted into his nose, a strange mixture of comfort and confusion overwhelmed his senses.
Yeh itna familiar kyun lag raha hai mujhe?
Armaan asked, his voice barely above a whisper but didn't get any reply in return. He closed his eyes and some blurry images and voices occupied his mind.
Bahot sundar lag rahi ho.
Sundarta dekhne wale ki ankhon mein hoti hai
Aah!!!
Armaan yelped as a strong wave of pain coursing through his head and he held his head. The images and voices held a strange formality making his heart ache with an emotion that was overwhelming he couldn't define in words.
Kya hua Armaan?
The voice asked, barely above a whisper in his ear but Armaan was too lost in the strange comfort that the fragrance of roses from the beautiful chunri was providing him to reply.
Kuch yaad aaya Armaan?
The voice whispered in his ear, the vulnerability evident in it's tone.
The vulnerability tugged him out of his thoughts and he shook his head sideways. His heart aching with the weight of the blurred images and voices, his eyebrows knitting together in a delicate expression of confusion.
Kuch tasveerein aur awaazein hain.
Armaan chocked out, forcing his eyes open and he caressed the chunri with a feather light touch.
Aisa lag raha hai jaise yeh chunri mujhe kuch batana chahati hai.
Armaan whispered, a hint of confusion coloring his tone.
Shayad haan.
The voice whispered mysteriously to him and at that moment, Armaan wished that he could see the person and glare at the person.
Kabhi toh help ker dia karo yaar.
Armaan whinned childishly, a pout forming on his lips.
Awww. You know you are so cute.
The genuine awe in it's tone made his heart flutter but he quickly composed himself and said, his voice holding a warning but the tremor in his voice betrayed his true emotions
Don't aww me. Sawal se bhatkane ki koshish mat karo mujhe.
Yaad kerna hai?
The voice questioned softly.
He hummed softly in response almost missing it and now there was a beat of silence.
As he walked towards the mirror. He gazed at his reflection and felt something unfamiliar. As he continued to look at the wall behind him through the mirror, the curtains flew slightly due to the soft wind. He noticed a shadow and then he blinked his eyes. His heart paced rapidly and he gulped the lump that formed in his throat. Blinking his eyes once again, he gathered the courage to look up and a gasp escaped his lips as his gorgeous black eyes locked with a set of equally gorgeous deep blue ones through the mirror. His breath hitched in his chest and he felt a flutter in his stomach as he finally saw HER!!!
Kuch yaad aaya.
She asked, her voice a soft melody he often heard and felt comforted by. His heart hitched in his chest as he watched her. He felt a delicate wave of fear coursing through his vains. He wanted to turn and look at her but he couldn't. He found himself glued to the spot.
Kon ho tum?
Armaan wanted to voice out the question but he found himself tounge tied. A sharp, cold wave of fear swept over him.
A girl was standing behind him, she was the vision of ethereal beauty, her deep blue eyes sparkling like precious sapphires and he found himself unwillingly lost in their depths. Her flawless complexion glowed under the soft light accentuating the soft features of her face.
The crimson red lehenga she wore draped elegantly around her slender frame. The rich hue contrasting beautifully with her dark brown locks cascading down in loose waves. The beautiful red chunri, adorned with white thread work and silver sequins was draped over her head.
As she walked towards him, her steps delicate and stood just behind him, looking at him with a tender smile through the mirror. Standing behind him, she said, her voice a soft whisper.
Ab?
Nahin.
He whispered not breaking the eye contact even for a moment. Images begin to cloud his mind which were alien to him, flashing before his eyes like a movie. He couldn't blink his eyes as he stood there with his breath caught in his throat.
Tum bahot pyaare ho Armaan.
He heard her whisper in his ear and then the creak of the door went unnoticed by him. His eyes locked with hers through the piece of glass as if in a state of daze. It looked like he doesn't want to look away from those captivating sea blue eyes.
There was a thunder outside, the lamps flickered and it started raining. The windows were wide open making the curtains fly. Armaan was still lost in her sea blue eyes not caring about anything and didn't notice the water flooding through the room.
The images begin to cloud his mind once again, the images were alien to him. His mind was stuck on a particular imagine, replying in his mind over and over again.
Bahot sundar lag rahi ho tum.
Sundarta dekhne wale ki ankhon mein hoti hai.
He felt something tighten around his neck and looked down, the chunri was suddenly wrapped around his neck, his breath caught in his throat.
The chunri was now tightening over his neck to a painful extent and he gasped for breathes. Tears welled up in his eyes as he chocked, the chunri tightened around his neck more and he felt his throat closing. The darkness coming from all sides of his vision and he shook his head lightly, not ready to embrace the darkness. The beautiful chunri clenched in his neck into a tight hold and he was about to fall but felt someone holding him from behind.
With a painful groan, his hand reflexively went to his neck. He tried his best to get rid of the beautiful fabric almost chocking him to death. As he struggled with the tight hold, words abandoned him and he gasped out. His throat burned as if it was on fire, tears streamed down his face. But despite everything, the sudden noise of the door opening caught his attention and the hold of the beautiful chunri around his neck started to loosen rapidly and soon it fell on the floor.
Tears were still streaming down Armaan,s face as he started breathing heavily. His heart paced rapidly and he closed his eyes and dropped himself on his knees. After he calmed down a little, he looked on the floor and found blood. His clothes were dranched in blood and he stood up. His heartbeat quickened and he turned around with a jolt and found no one there. The room was normal, he looked down hurriedly and found nothing, there was no blood, the chunri was safely placed on the bed. Still breathing heavily, he massaged his throat to get rid of the burning sensations looking everywhere in the room but found nothing.
What the hell is happening?
Armaan let out a semi yell. The happenings of the day played in his mind and his head ached from stress, his heart was pounding against his chest out of fear and uncertainty.
Armaan. Kya hua?
Ruhi asked coming inside the room shocked after seeing his state.
Armaan looked at Ruhi, his eyes barely open and as their eyes locked, Ruhi shivered seeing his eyes empty, void of any emotion.
Armaan kuch bolo.
Ruhi shook him gently, her worry evident.
Armaan came back to his senses. The stress and trauma of the happenings overwhelmed him and he fainted.
ARMAAN!!!
Ruhi yelled, her voice quivering with panic.
