Friendship moments
10 year old Ishan finds a cricket bat at his grandparents' place. His eyes widened as he noticed the worn leather and faded signatures of the cricketers, that sent shivers down his spine.
"Dadaji, yeh bat?" Ishan asked, his voice filled with excitement.
His grandfather's eyes sparkled. "Aha. Mera purana lucky bat. Whenever I used to play with it, i always won."
Ishan smiled and sat beside him. "Ap bhi khela karte the?"
His grandfather smiled and nodded, recalling his old days.
"Batayiye naa. Kab, kaise khelte the taki hum bhi seekhe." Ishan requested with pleading eyes.
His grandfather shared stories of his own cricketing days and Ishan's passion ignited.
"Kapil Dev se bhi mile the?" Ishan asked, his eyes widened.
"Beta, tum bhi bade hoke cricketer bana," His grandmother encouraged. "Hum dekhe tumhara josh, kitna excited hoke sun raha tha saara baat."
—
Years passed and Ishan's hard work and dedication paid off. He was selected for the Under-19 national team and his name splashed across newspapers and televisions.
Aditi Hundia, a stunning and ambitious young woman, watched Ishan's pre match interview. She had always dreamt of becoming a model but deep down, she wanted someone with whom she could play cricket, as she loved sports.
As Ishan spoke about his love for the game, Aditi felt an undeniable admiration for him. His passion, confidence and charm drew her in.
"Who is this guy?" Aditi asked her brother, mesmerized.
Yash scanned the television headlines and replied. "Ishan Kishan, the rising star."
Aditi smiled and couldn't shake off the feeling that she has come across someone special.
Meanwhile, Ishan prepared for the first ever match, in which he will represent India.
—
Aditi stood confidently on the ramp, posing for the camera. During the break, her phone buzzed with notifications. She glanced at the screen and her heart skipped a beat.
"India's U-19 team finishes as runner up in the world cup." the news headlines read.
"Oh my God! We could have won but koi nahi. Got to witness some amazing performances." Aditi said, her voice filled with a mix of disappointment and pride.
As she recalled the performances, her mind raced to Ishan, the cricketer she had admired in the interview. She quickly scrolled through the articles, devoring every detail.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement. She couldn't believe how well Ishan had performed.
"Kitna accha hain!" Aditi exclaimed, to her fellow model, Nehal.
Nehal raised an eyebrow. "Koun accha hain?"
"Ishan, U-19 ka captain aur cricketer." She replied, her face glowing.
Nehal smiled knowingly. "Hooked, aren't you?"
Aditi couldn't deny it. She had never felt this drawn to someone before.
As the rehearsal continued, Aditi's mind wandered to Ishan and his performances. She couldn't wait to watch him play again.
"Nehal, kya koi next match mein jaa sakte hain?" she asked.
Nehal grinned. "Mujh par chodh do. I have connections."
Aditi's heart skipped a beat at the prospect of watching a cricket match live.
—
Ishan arrived home to a warm welcome. His family, friends and fans gathered to celebrate his success.
"Proud of you." his father said.
As they relished the tournament, Ishan's thoughts turned to his next challenge.
"I want to make my country proud." Ishan said in an interview.
Meanwhile, Aditi got to know that Ishan would make his debut with MI in IPL. She counted down the days until the start of the next season. Nehal took the charge of securing tickets for them and Aditi's excitement was palpable.
"Maza aayega live matches dekhne mein." Aditi squealed.
Nehal teased. "And maybe kisi se attention milne mein bhi."
Aditi turned curious. "Kya matlab?" she asked.
"Ishan ko dekhna chahogi naa tum toh." Nehal said.
Her heart skipped a beat at the possibility.
—
The stadium buzzed with energy as Ishan took to the field with Rohit. Aditi's eyes locked onto him, her heart racing with anticipation.
"Debut match. Maza aane wala hain." Aditi said.
Nehal nodded.
As Ishan began to bat, Aditi cheered along with the crowd. With every run, every boundary, her excitement grew.
Nehal noticed her excitement. She couldn't help but ask. "Itna excited kabhi nhi dekha. Aur waise, cheer kar kiske liye rahi ho?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
Aditi covered her ears and replied. "Pehli baar koi match live dekh rahe hai.. excitement toh hogi hi naa. Cheer main har player ke liye kar rahi hoon, tumhe kya lag raha hain?"
Nehal sighed, a smile spread across her face. "Kuch nhi. Bas accha lag raha."
Ishan's performance exceeded expectations. He scored runs and showcased his wicketkeeping skills, guiding MI to victory.
Aditi was overjoyed, screaming with delight. "Kitna maza aaya!" she exclaimed.
"Bola tha na live matches special hote hain." Nehal grinned.
As Ishan celebrated with his teammates, Aditi felt an overwhelming sense of pride for him. Suddenly, she suggested. "Chalo naa, milte hain sab se."
Nehal stood still. "Aise kaise? Itne bade players se hum mile, seriously?"
Aditi insisted. "Haan, chalo na."
"Woh sab bhaga denge hume. Aise kaise jaane denge players ke room mein?" Nehal said.
Aditi sighed and began to walk away, but stopped midway, turning to Nehal she said. "Main jaa rahi hoon."
"Fine. woh log tumhe peet peet ke mere paas bhej denge dekh lena." Nehal shouted.
But Aditi didn't listened. She turned around to leave.
Nehal thought. "I know she wanna meet someone... that's why she left."
—
Inside, Aditi was greeted by several overseas players, their faces familiar from TV, her shyness took over.
"Excuse me," she asked one of them. "Can I get your autograph?"
The player smiled. It was Kieron Pollard. "Hey, pretty lady. You seem to be a model."
Aditi nodded, her cheeks flushing.
Just then, Hardik entered. He looked around and was surprised to see him with a young, beautiful woman.
He approached her and asked. "How come you are here?"
"Mujhe ap logo se milna tha," Aditi replied. "Biggest fan."
Hardik chuckled while Pollard just smiled, waiting for the translation.
"Thank you but tum dressing room mein allowed nhi ho. Sirf players ke liye hain." Hardik said.
Aditi requested. "Just one selfie please."
Just then, Ishan walked in and their eyes met. Aditi's heart skipped a beat as his smile lit up the room.
She rushed to him, shaking hands. "Congratulations!"
Their hands touched and it felt like they have known each other for years.
"Thank you but koun ho tum? Aur hamare room mein kya kar rahi ho?" Ishan inquired, his voice filled with curiosity.
"Aditi Hundia." she said.
Ishan's jaw dropped. "Acha haa, Miss Supranational ki winner naa?"
Aditi beamed, going crazy over the fact that she is known by a cricket player.
"Nice to meet you." Ishan said.
Just then, Hardik interrupted their moment. "Ishan, chalo baahar."
"Haan, bye need to go." Ishan said in hurry.
Aditi held his arm and stopped him. Ishan looked at her, their eyes locked onto each other's and the world seemed to melt away.
"Selfie?" she asked, her voice trembling.
As they posed, their faces inches apart, Aditi's heart fluttered.
"Thanks aane ke liye." Ishan said and left, without waiting for her reply.
Aditi smiled, staring at his retreating figure. "Miss hi nhi karti yeh match." she said to herself.
—
As the days passed, Ishan couldn't shake off Aditi's smile. Their brief encounter left him wanting more.
"She's stunning, inside and out." Ishan thought.
A year went by and Aditi became a familiar face in the MI team. She became friends with the players and their wives, charming them with her warmth and personality.
One evening, as Ishan walked down the hotel corridor, he overheard Aditi's conversation with Ritika and Devisha.
"Kitna maza aata agar hame bhi cricket sikhane wala koi hota." Aditi said wistfully.
Ishan's ears listened attentively.
"Hame toh sikhane wale hain." Ritika said, eyeing Devisha.
They all talked about their own experiences and how they met their husbands.
Ishan's curiosity got the better of him. He walked away from there and he felt a spark he couldn't ignore. He wanted to teach Aditi cricket, so that he could spend more time with her.
—
The sun began to set, the hotel's outdoor spaces emptied as everyone headed outside for some quality time with each other.
Ishan remained in the cricket field, practicing his batting.
Aditi was in her room, enjoying the peaceful evening. She stepped onto her balcony for fresh air. Her gaze wandered to the field below, where Ishan's dedication caught her attention.
She admired his concentration.
Ishan sensed her presence and looked up, catching Aditi's eye. He smiled, gesturing her to join him.
Her heart skipped a beat as she came down to the field, her curiosity piqued.
"Chal, khelte hain." Ishan said, his eyes sparkling.
Aditi raised an eyebrow. "You mean cricket?"
Ishan smiled. "Haan toh, aur kya?"
Aditi's hesitation dissolved. "Chalo. Would love to play with you but mujhe nhi aata khelna."
"Main seekha dunga." Ishan said, his eyes shining.
Aditi's smiled at him. "Sach?"
"Much." Ishan said and asked her to follow him to the pitch.
He hands her his bat and said. "Phele tumhara grip adjust karna hoga."
"Aise?" Aditi asked.
Ishan came to her. "Nhi, aise." He gently placed his hands on the bat, their fingers touching.
Soon, laughter and excitement echoed through the field. Aditi struggled to wear cricket gloves and Ishan helped her, their hands touching again.
As they practiced, Aditi's competitive spirit emerged. Ishan praised her. "Wow, itni jaldi seekh gayi."
Aditi compliments his patience. "Tum mere coach ho, isliye seekh gayi."
During a water break, they sat together, sharing laughter and stories of each other.
"Tumhare confidence ne hi tumhe jeetaya tha. Tum sach mein bahut stunning ho." Ishan said.
Aditi blushed at the compliment and whispered. "Thank you."
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, their eyes sparkling with delight.
"Maine tumhe seekha diya." Ishan said, his voice filled with warmth.
Aditi turned to him, stunned. "Matlab?"
He smiled mischievously. "Haan, tum chahti thi naa koi tumhe cricket seekhaye? Lo, main aa gaya. Roz practice karte rahenge."
Aditi's face lit up. "What a great day! Mujhe mera khud ka coach mil gaya."
Their laughter echoed, attracting attention.
After a while, they got engrossed in a conversation where they shared their dreams, aspirations and fears. Trusting each other, they felt like best friends.
Ritika and Devisha arrived, observing the duo, the bats and balls from a distance. They exchanged knowing looks.
"Usse apna 'someone' mil gaya." Devisha whispered.
"Ab dekhte hain unka connection kaise aage badhta hain." Ritika said, giggling.
As they approached them, Ishan's and Aditi's laughter subsided but their smiles remained on their faces.
"Hamara naya cricket duo." Ritika teased.
—
As the evening unfolded, Ishan invited Aditi to join the team for dinner. The dinner table buzzed with conversation and laughter. Ishan and Aditi sat together, their newfound connection palpable which was, of course, noticed by others.
"Dono ko dekho." Surya nudged Rohit, eyeing them.
Rohit smiled and said. "Naye naye dost hain, aage aage dekho."
As the night drew to a close, Ishan accompanied Aditi to her room.
"Maza aaya aaj. Thank you." Aditi said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ishan smiled. "Anytime."
—
As they prepared for bed, they couldn't shake off the day's excitement.
Ishan smiled, thinking. "Kisse pata tha, cricket ki meri iss journey mein kitne pyare logo se milunga."
Aditi's thoughts mirrored his. "Expected nhi tha ki koi itna understanding ladke se meri bonding hogi."
They both felt grateful for the unexpected connection.
"Maybe kuch special start hain yeh." Ishan thought.
Aditi smiled at her thoughts. "Koi aisa mil gaya jo mujhe notice karta ho, dekhta ho aur har jagah support karta ho."
