Hey Guys! Here's the next chapter! Thank you so much for all your support I really appreaciate it!

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

I skipped to lunch early with a huge grin on my face, still revelling in my victory over Jake. It wasn't until I was already sitting at my new table, about to dig into my food when I noticed there was a new girl standing at the edge of the dining area looking lost. There was no one else around, so I got up and went to introduce myself. As I got closer, a weird sensation came over me and there was an odd taste in my mouth, as a wave of nerves washed over me. I don't know how I knew it but I knew that this feeling came from the girl and not from me.

"Hi, I'm Izzy, what's your name?" I asked gently. The taste of nerves eased slightly as the girl smiled at me.

"Hi, my name is Clarisse La Rue." She said with an act of bravery.

"Well Clarisse, how did you hear about us?" I asked.

"My dad, he told me to come here." She said with a kind of awkward expression as though debating what she should tell me or not, probably fearing that I would call her crazy if she told me who her dad was. "He's Ares." She added quietly on the end. I nodded giving her an encouraging smile.

"Well then, let's find Chiron and get you settled shall we?" I gestured for the girl to follow me and led her to Chiron's office. I knocked on the door and entered without waiting, Chiron was sitting behind his desk reading and looked up as we came in. I quickly introduced him to Clarisse and walked away feeling confused. How could I feel her nerves? I walked past the lunch area again and immediately was overwhelmed by so many different feelings at once. I wanted to laugh, as well as at the same time feeling lonely and uncomfortable. I knew that it wasn't me feeling this way and I could pin point each emotion I felt to each person in the lunch area. I didn't understand what was happening to me, I couldn't concentrate there were too many feelings running through me for me to be able to even concentrate on one for more than a second before it was replaced by the next. I staggered backwards trying to get away so I could actually think clearly. I wasn't really aware of my surroundings the only thing I could think of was to get away but my feet seemed to know what they were doing, so I let them lead.

Before I knew it I found myself in the clearing where I first met my parents and leaning against a tree was Hermes. A sympathetic smile spread on his face as he simply said

"I've got a message for you."

"Has it got something to do with the all the emotions I'm feeling right now, because if not could you please leave a message after the beep?" I asked still holding my slightly ringing head. He let out a chuckle before replying.

"Well you're in luck, it is about that."

"So what are you waiting for?" I snapped harshly, but it wasn't my anger I was feeling, which only frustrated me more. Hermes chuckled at my face which was a mixture of confusion and frustration.

"It's part of your role as a goddess of heroes." He started to explain. "You're more in tune with the demigods now, so you can feel their emotions. You can learn to tune them out completely or turn them on whenever you want. But it may take a while to get a handle of it. The human mind is simpler than that of a demigod as the demigods are related to the gods and as we all know we are infinitely better." He added smugly. "Which means that you can actually read a human's mind if you try hard enough."

"Wow, really? Mind reading? That is so cool!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, but until you learn to control it you're going to have the emotions of a large group of teenagers all growing up and discovering that monsters are going to constantly want to kill them running through you." Hermes laughed with a smirk on his face that clearly said 'sucks to be you'. I stuck my tongue out at him before closing my eyes and trying really hard to turn it off. This only made Hermes's chuckles louder as he saw my failing attempts to block out the constant barrage of emotions.

"Relax." Hermes instructed. "Breathe. In through your nose and out through your mouth. When you are calm just imagine a door whilst thinking of the ability to read emotions and then close that door."

"Ugh! They are so off putting! How am I meant to relax enough to block them out if the thing I'm trying to block it is making me angry!" I groaned.

"Try again." Hermes encouraged. Taking a deep breath to try and calm myself I shut my eyes and tried it again. I pictured a large, heavy metal door that nothing would be able to get past and slammed it shut using all of the anger that wasn't mine and suddenly I felt calm. There was no petty anger in my head or nervousness or pressure threatening to overwhelm me. It was just me with my own feelings. A broad grin grew on my face as I was left in peace. And I shot a smug smirk at Hermes knowing that he hadn't expected me to do it yet.

My smile faltered slightly as I felt the door in my head rattling slightly, threatening to burst open from the pressure building up behind it. But I scrunched up my eyes imagining a deadbolt lock slide across the door and a huge heavy safe block it from opening. Opening one eye I looked at Hermes and now he was wearing the smug smile.

"Is something wrong?" He asked as if already knowing the answer, so I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Just a minor glitch. All under control now." I said straightening up and jutting my chin forward defiantly, making Hermes' smirk grow even more.

"That's my girl. Now run along back to camp." Hermes said giving me a quick hug before gently pushing me back in the direction of the trail. I turned to wave goodbye but when I looked back there was something in Hermes face that worried me. He was thinking about something and it wasn't a good thought.

But I didn't hang around to question Hermes about it, because I suddenly felt myself being tugged back to camp from my gut. I ran down the trail, eager and apprehensive at the same time about what I would find back at camp.

I skidded to a halt in the lunch area where I found Luke standing with a proud smile on his face as everyone was around him saying goodbye. Oh gods! He got a quest. This could be the start of the prophecy, he would be away from us and vulnerable to evil. He turned and saw me at the edge of the trees, he smiled and waved me over. So I quickly rearranged my face to cover my shock and horror, and replace it with a smile.

"I got it! I finally got a quest! A chance to prove myself." Luke exclaimed and I could see the goodness and excitement sparkling in his eyes. It was hard to imagine that he would ever become evil, I couldn't see it happening, but I knew that it would. Prophecies always came true.

"That's great! But I want you to call for me if you EVER need me. No matter what it is I want you to call for me, because I can't intervene unless you ask for me. That's the rule." I said sternly whilst pointing at him. He just kept smiling and rolled his eyes at me but nodded his agreement when he saw me narrowing my eyes at him.

"Sure. Now stop acting like you're my mother!" He sighed as he pulled me into a bear hug. This would be the turning point either he would turn bad now or he wouldn't. "My dad gave it to me, I have to get the Golden Apple from the Garden of Hesperides." I could see the pride in his eyes as he said Hermes had given it to him. He had always thought that because Hermes rarely talked to him that he didn't love him, he didn't realise it was because Hermes was trying to not let Luke know his destiny. But here he had a chance to prove himself and he would, either he would prove that he would give into the darkness or he would prove that he was good.

"Don't call me your mother! I am younger than you!" I cried in fake outrage.

"Only by a year." He chuckled as we walked back over to the group of people who were saying good bye. I had a feeling that even though I had told him to ask for my help when he needed it, he wouldn't. He wanted his chance to shine and prove himself he wouldn't want me to have to save him.

"I'm really going to miss you." Annabeth said whilst clinging to his stomach. "Don't you ever get yourself killed!" She warned him whilst glaring at him.

"I wouldn't dare." He reassured her before gently detaching her from his hip. He already had his stuff and he was leaving right away. We all walked with him up to the top of half-blood hill but stopped at the border, leaving him to carry on, on his own. I walked slowly back to camp, thinking. I didn't want Luke to turn bad but I knew that it was inevitable. Looking over at Annabeth and the tears pouring down her cheeks I knew that it would crush her when he turned. She was so close to him, he had pretty much saved her and she hadn't forgotten that.

I was pacing in my cabin, fretting over Luke when I got an Iris message from none other than Iris herself.

"Hey!" She squealed excitedly. "I can only talk to you briefly because I'm not really meant to be talking to you now as it was really Connor who wanted to talk to you but I couldn't help myself from butting in when I saw that! You have to tell me what happens. Well actually I'll be listening in anyway because it is through me he'll be talking to you, but still!" I was really confused, she had been talking so fast that I really only caught a little of that but I got that Connor wanted to talk to me and that sent my stomach into a flutter and my heart started to quicken.

"What are you going on about Iris? Connor wants to talk to me?"

"Yeah, he tried to Iris Message you but I intercepted first cause I wanted to warn you. At the moment he is getting the equivalent of an engaged tone on an actual phone." Iris smiled brightly.

"If he's waiting to talk to me why aren't you letting him?" I asked a little panicked that he might have given up.

"Oh right yeah! I'll be back when he's gone!" Iris said as she vanished and Connor appeared in the place where she had just been.

"Hi." I said with a big smile.

"Hey, sorry if you were busy I didn't want to interrupt anything but I wanted to talk to you." He said slightly unsure of whether I wanted to talk to him.

"No, its fine I want to talk to you too! I was just talking to Iris but she's gone now." I hoped, but I was pretty sure that she was actually still listening in but just not letting us see that she was. But he didn't need to know that.

"Ok, I was just wandering ... well I was kind of hoping that ...if you were free this evening ... if you might want to go out or something?" He said, sounding so unsure of himself, it was so cute!

"I would love to!" I said trying to control myself and not scream like I wanted to.

"Great! So I'll pick you up at 7 from Olympus?" He asked smiling.

"I can't wait." I said beaming so hard I'm sure that my cheeks would start to hurt soon.

"See you then, bye. Oh and wear something nice."

"What are we doing?" I asked be he had already faded away and once again a squealing Iris appeared.

"Oh my Gods! You're going on a date with Connor!" She practically sang.

"I know!" I squealed back, sighing as I fell onto my bed, with a smile of contentment on my face. But it quickly fell and I sat up worried. "You have to help me! I have no clue what to wear!"

We spent the next hour and a half going through my extensive wardrobe trying to find something 'nice'. With piles of clothes discarded on my floor I was starting to panic.

"Iris, we are going to have to call in the big guns and get their help." I said whilst sitting on the floor of my wardrobe.

"Who?" She asked with a confused face.

"The Aphrodite girls." I stated simply. "I might need you here for this because if I go in who knows if I'll ever come out again. I'll need back up." I said seriously, but Iris seemed to find this funny.

"Yes sir." She said whilst saluting me and giggling.

"Oh I'm not joking, they have implements of torture in their so called "make-up bags" and they're not afraid of using them." I said thinking back to the waxing and plucking that had gone on before my 16th.

"Ok, I'll try and save you from the deadly tweezers." She joked, whilst rolling her eyes.

"I'll hold you to that." I warned her as she hung up. I didn't have to wait long before there was a knock at my door and I let Iris in. "Ok, let the pain begin." I muttered to myself as we walked over to the Aphrodite cabin.

Iris knocked on the door and firmly held my arm so that I couldn't try and run away like I wanted to.

"Hey, I'm Iris. Izzy here needs your help." Iris stated when a confused Selena opened the door. "You see she has a big date with Connor tonight and she doesn't know what to wear. She was kind of hoping to get your advice." She continued making my face turn red from embarrassment. I looked up from the floor to see Selena with a broad grin on her face as she shouted over her shoulder.

"Girls!! We have work to do!"

"Oh Gods save me!" I muttered and tried to cling to Iris or crawl away but she pushed me inside whilst laughing at me.

"Come on Izzy! It won't be that bad. And remember I've already promised to save you from the evil tweezers." She said mocking me. I playfully glared at her.

"You're no help at all you're practically handing me over to the sharks to be eaten." I said dramatically, causing her to roll her eyes again.

"Well these sharks will have you looking hot for your date tonight so stop complaining!"
