Part 8: Reaching for the Universal Library of Knowledge
Reaching for the Universal Library of Knowledge

How do the creative minds of this world come up with new ideas that are far outside the box? People ask me, "How to you write so boldly?" I write bold because I listen to my dreams, and know my unconscious mind. Yes, you heard me I listen to my dreams. Dreams are both visual, auditory, and sometimes tactile. In my visions (dreams if you prefer) I listen to complete symphonies, a piece from beginning to end. Oh, that's what Mozart meant when he said his music came for the lips of God. I thumbed through the complete score of operas, but alas, I am not a composer, but...it was a goldmine for thwasn't directed to the poetry sections. I spent many months finding my way through the Universal Library of Knowledge before I found the poets section. Pay attention to your dreams. Keep a pencil and paper beside your bed so you can write ideas down, because it only comes once. I am not talking about your normal vivid dreams I am talking about those dreams that you have when you fall to sleep (hypnagogia) and those when your brainwaves cycle close to awaking mood, hypnopompia. These are the states of being when the mind is neither awake nor asleep. Before you discover your realm of visions, you must first deal with your dream world, and in it are several things to pay attention to in your vivid and lucid dreams. Number one on that list is water.
Pay attention to water symbols, for when you dream of water you are in contact with your unconscious mind and the collective. We dream of water because we all come from water as life forms and it is the greater part of our unconsciousness. If the water in your dreams is calm then your unconscious mind is calm, if it is raging then your unconsciousness is upset and wants desperately to get your attention. If the water inside your dreams is turbulent then you must calm them before you can reach the Universal Library of Knowledge. You will not be given the keys to the Library until you have made peace with your unconscious mind, so get your life in order, make peace with all aspects of your life and the people in it, for an angry person will never be allowed inside the collective consciousness.
Second, find your totem or that animal that you have a connection to. It is an animal that reappears in your vivid and lucid dreams, and when you approach, it will not attack. You must have no fear of it in the dream world, and you must be in control of your dreams to navigate this realm. Knowing your totem is one of the most important points to unlocking your unconscious mind.
Last; find what being represents your guide (this is separate from your totem). To do this you will have to be lucid (realize that you are dreaming). How do you find them? you ask them. In other words you stop the storyline of your dream (control your dream), find a being and ask them, "Are you my guide?" They will answer you, and to do this you must be aware of yourself while dreaming (lucid). If they say no then seek another and ask them. In a dream, your guide is a key to unlocking the door to the unconscious mind. If they answer yes then the dream will stop and you will enter the hypnopompic state of sleep (not awake but aware of your surroundings) and then they will talk to you. You can enter this state of being willfully as well as in your dreams.
To do this during your waking hours slow down and take the time to meditate mindfully, and spend fifteen minutes to an hour meditating per day. You can use the Buddhist style of sitting and aligning your spine or you can relax on your bed and slow your brain waves (if you fall asleep do not worry, you need a nap). Mindful meditation is the best form of meditation; focus on your breathing, listen to the sound of your breath going in and out and focus your thoughts only on it. Count the breathing with one count; and your in and out breath is counted as one. I start at 100 and count backwards to zero. If I reach zero then I start over at ninety-nine and count back down; if you lose your place in the count, don't worry, just pick up where you last remember. Next, with your eyes closed focus on the images behind your eye lids. You will eventually see colors, patterns or dots of light. This is your pineal gland, your third eye, coming awake. It has photo receptor cells to sense light. It is what brings light into your dream world, but can also be used to image things in a conscious state of mind but at lower brain wave patterns of theta brainwaves.
In the world of meditation exists the realm of visions, but it takes practice to open up this realm. At first, during meditation my images were dimly lit, mostly black and white, and that is fine. One day during meditation, I found myself in a church and an old lady seated in front of me. One woman took her cane and poked my third eye. I flinched and then my inner lens of my third eye opened. This membrane was much like that of a reptile and opened downward, makes sense since the pineal gland sets atop our reptilian brain, and at that moment the amount of light that flowed in was blinding. It was the light that near death survivors speak of after returning to life, and it was the vision of the inner eye. This inner eye you will see is so much brighter, sharper and three-dimensional than our two eyes can ever see, and you will be amazed. Scientists find this third eye in all animals, reptiles and mammals, and believe it is used to tell them when to hibernate for the winter by sensing the height of the sun in the sky, explaining wintertime slowness and depression in humans. It is believed by some, and me, that the third eye sees all the time; only our conscious mind blocks it out because of the business of our thoughts. In other words, vision upon vision; and when you slow down your brainwaves and close your eyes, you will see what only a few see. These people are artists, poets, inventors, composers, prophets, shamans, and visionaries. What you see with this eye is the vision of the collective consciousness, and that means it is limitless. Some of the things you will see are beyond words. Life is so much more than what meets the two outward seeing eyes; and it is all there for us to unlock, and countless people over the eon gave us the keys to inner vision, and it is time we open our third eye.
Love, peace and freedom, Olan
